I was placed in room 107 and and found the floor with about a gallon of water on it between the bed and window. I contacted the front desk and was told that they were sold out and there was nothing they could do. I asked for the manager who never responded. We used towels to keep the floor dry by the door but we couldn't use the bed there. I complained the next morning and got the same excuses and again no response from management. By afternoon I found a room that was being cleaned and the evening staff moved us. The new room (109) has a bathroom door with broken hinges so it can't be closed. All that and they did nothing but make excuses for everything. Worst of all, the people staying in room 105 told me they originally were put in room 107 and complained about the flooding and were moved. The next day without any actions taken to fix the problem, they put me in that room. In the end I got nothing for my troubles but "I'm sorry " and no response from management.

I have been a Choice Hotels member since 2016, reaching their platinum status. On October 24 I broke a leg at a football tailgate event and subsequently had surgery and spent 4 days in a nearby hospital. I had a 10/24 reservation at a Comfort Inn/Suites in fort Chiswell/Wytheville VA, and someone in my party called that hotel to inform them I would not be able to make that reservation. The room had been paid for with accumulated points, and for reasons unknown to me, the reservation was not cancelled, and the room was supposedly not re-booked. Choice Hotels has refused to refund me my points. I will not be staying with them anywhere at any time in the future.

Quality inn chesterton, IN terrible experience reserved a room with tub handicap room and there was no tub stopper. Told me they did not have any and did not have any maintenance that evening. Next day they moved me across the hall to a room with a tub stopper. I was worried about the refrigerator and in the daytime they said there was no maintenance and i asked the manager to call me but she was too busy and left the motel and never called me back I was checking the frig and found several spots of black mold. Called choice but the gm never called me back either.

Point system ( ALERT!) please read
October 14, 2023

This company is the worst point system Choice Hotels. This company will rip you off from your money when purchasing points. Pay attention to your points first before buying more points. What happen to me was I seen an amount of 7,000 per night I had that amount on my balance so I decide to buy another 7 to book for two nights. Once I returned to book the two nights. They were now asking 14,000 points per night and charge me $160 after I just purchase $85 for 7,000 cause it was original 7,000 per night. I had figured out what they did. The more points you have the more they raise the point per night. I really like Radisson Rewards hope they come back. Everyone please pay attention to your points before booking or buying additional points.

Horrible
September 25, 2023

Nasty, didn't have no wash clothes. Mode everywhere, TV didn't work, water didn't get hot, coffee maker didn't work, phone didn't work. Just a mess. No one working there would help. The manager was like I tell everyone to call voice and complain cause the new owners don't care and won't do anything

Stay away from Choice Hotels!
September 24, 2023

The hotel we stayed at was $200 and was so sketchy. There was Meth and syringes by our truck in the morning, the room smelled like piss and wasn't kept up with at all. We all felt very unsafe and grossed out but they refused to refund us when we checked in and wanted to cancel and find somewhere else to stay. STAY AWAY! You can find way better hotels at that price, I totally got scammed. I can understand this for a $80 room but not $200!

Choice Privileges Not Bad
September 20, 2023

The Choice Privileges MasterCard part of Choice Hotels seems alright.
60K Rewards points ( that's like 4 free stays) after getting their plastic card... & spending on a new set of tires or something. Their website is huge & confusing... Choice App is a bit more user friendly. Make reservations in the hotel parking lot... get confirmed... then check in.

Bait and Switch

I selected one star, if a thumbs down or red flag was available I'd chose it. I was told by an agent that no payment was due until time of check in. Woke this morning, and guess what? It is pending on my account, and it can not be refunded, well, lucky me, my bank won't honor it.

So I am staying at the comfort Inn and the drapes are only for decoration. I can't close them for privacy and I am facing the main street, and I will be dealing with the morning sun waking me in the morning! I can't believe this! Sooo disappointed, upset. This is crazy for a hotel to do, let alone a big name one. Ugh ugh ugh! Choice hotel, really?!

Choice Hotels Lowest Price Guarantee
August 17, 2023

Choice hotels discriminates against the Military and those that use the military rate when booking a room.
The military and government employees are the only customers that are specifically prohibited from using the Choice Hotels Lowest Price Guarantee program. Even when the price discounts that AAA, AARP and seniors get are the exact same price per room as the Military discount.

I left eye glasses at the hotel. I paid $50 to have them shipped, after providing photos to the front desk. They shipped me the wrong glasses (mine were ladies' sunglasses and they sent me men's prescription glasses) and then proceeded to lose mine. Company would do nothing to make up for the error of completely stunned and obviously negligent staff. Had to buy new prescription sunglasses costing me another $150. Nobody cares! No accountability for hiring stupid employees. I will sleep in my car before I stay at a choice hotel again.

Worst Customer Service
July 10, 2023

When I need help with canceling a hotel all they could tell me was they would put a claim into the hotel directly. And I should hear something within 24 to 48 hours. I tried to cancel the hotel approximately 2.5 weeks advance of my arrival. I had a family emergency come up where my father was having his leg amputated and I needed assistance in getting my hotel reservation either canceled or to get a voucher for another time. Choice Hotels could you absolutely nothing for me and just kept saying I would hear from the hotel. I never heard anything from either one! And was out almost $300. Don't waste your time or money with this app. I will go back to using hotels.com.

Poor customer service

I am a diamond member, besides not being recognized as a diamond member I continuously have to verify that points are properly accredited to my account. I have complained and I have never received a call or E Mail to rectify this situation, I have stayed over 400 times in the past 10 years and I come to the conclusion that choice doesn't value their members no matter what level they have attained.

Do not make a reservation with Choice Hotels! We had a reservation at NYC hotel near JFK made 1 month prior to the date. 2 days before the date we receive an email saying we are looking forward to your stay. On the day of the reservation we arrived at the airport and called the number we were given for the shuttle. The person at the other end named Daniel said that the hotel has been closed for more than a month and has been changed to a shelter. We asked why we were not notified and the person said we have notified the choice hotels, since you made the reservation with them choice hotel was supposed to notify you. I called the choice hotel reservation number and was transferred between multiple persons who had no idea that the hotel was closed. They said there were no hotels available in the JFK airport area and when I asked to give us a hotel room for one night since we have early morning international trip they asked us to go to Bronx which is hours away in NYC traffic. The reps kept on talking and talking but couldn't offer us a hotel for one night. In the end we were stranded at the airport with no hotel to go to. I would not recommend anyone to reserve with choice Hotels.

Worse Hotel Ever!
June 13, 2023

Viviana Davis
*******@hotmail.com

My family booked to stay at Quality Inn off 900 N yarbrough in El Paso TX. There was no more hotels available because of graduation, and we had landed from Germany so it was very late. When we go there the employees first placed us in a one bed room, we went back to remind her we had reserved a 2 bed-room. Then after 20+ mns she assigned us another room. I go all the way to the 3 floor to find this was a smoking room. I inmidiately went back and questioned the employee who then told me that was "all they had".
1. I booked a none smoking
2. She never told me the room was smoking
3. I booked directly through your company and not a third party.
4. She was clueless as to what she had and not available

When she sated there was no more rooms for us I told her I wanted my money back. She then said only manager can handle that so I needed to come back in the morning. My family had to walk to the next hotel in sight.
Next morming I went by first thing to speak with Andre, manager, who was cluless about the situation and offer to give us a refund.
When she tried to "fix" the problem she was charging our bank account. So, she asked to give her time and she would fix it, she asked for an hour.
Hours went by and we did not hear from her, but we noticed additional charges up to $700 to our bank account. I called the hotel and the stated she had left for the day.
The next day I went in and she told us she had a lot going on and that's why she did not get to call me. At that point I did not care for her excuses and I let her know she had created me additional charges.
The woman did not know how to address the situation or fix it because instead of refunding the money, she was charging us more.
After several attempts for her to "fix it", we ended up with additional charges adding up to $1600, and we never even stayed in the hotel. She tried to show me an invoice with the "corrections". The invoice did show a positive balance rather than a negative meaning money was being refunded.
At that point I had lost my patients and I knew this lady was uncapable of fixing the problem. We called our bank who also told her she was charging the account. She asked us to giver her some time because her and her General Manager would need to get it figured out.
Our bank adviced us to give the charges a few days as they were pending and if posted the bank would dispute the charges, but to stop her from running our card anymore.

A few hours later she called and left a vc mail stating she had fixed the charges. After a few days out of the 7 charges only 4 cleared and we had to dispute 3. So, she was not successful at fixing the problem she created.

I must mentioned the quality of people staying at the hotel was awful. While looking for the room we run into a man who was inside the room we were suppose to stay, but noone knew he was there. There was also another man at the front desk stating he had not had hot water in days, and the front desk was not even tracking this man was staying there.
There a lot of homeless looking individuals wondering the property and the lady at the front desk used a paper to track occupied room and would send an employee to see if a room was available or occupied.

This hotel is literally the definition of gettho. I would never stay there or any hotels run by your company.
When i tried to call to place a formal complaint I was told the system you have in place only allows for hotel management to handle the problems. Clearly if hotel is uncapable and lacks training, they cant handle their own complaints, somewhere should be overseeing them

I am attaching one of the many invoiced I was presented with only for proof of stay

I should read review first before booking. Drove more than 3 hours in the evening, and was told NO room AND I prepaid and no cancellation allowed, but due to choice.com mistake, they can do nothing, but refund me, basically this booking is NOT bilateral, it is CUSTOMER ONLY can NOT break contract, but hotel can, so it is just LIMIT CUSTOMER.

NO fair in front of Choice. NO choice.

One star is too high.

I booked a room at comfort suites in Bloomberg, PA. The WORST experience of my 60 years! The hotel was under full construction. When I called the customer service line, 3 different agents sent me to "customer service". One hung up on me.
I will never stay in one of their hotels again. Absolutely disgusting.

Fraudulent charges by stoned manager
May 1, 2023

Don't stay at this hotel! They will fraudulently charge your account of $150! When we checked in at midnight, the manager, sara, was upset and rude that we disturbed her bong hits. She and the entire office reeked of marijuana and she was completely baked! She was so stoned that she put the reservation under my husbands first and middle name rather his first and last. We didnt know this until we contacted corporate, Choice hotels. Choice hotels could not find the reservation because of this. They had to use the last 4 digits of the debit card to figire it out.

We slept for 4 hours before leaving. The bathroom was covered in mold. Just nasty. The next day, the hotel manager, sara leaves a voicemail stating she charged us $150 because we "didnt tell her we had a pet or an injury." She said we should have told her about the injury so they could "prepare." How are you going to prepare? Are you going to perform surgery? Are you a doctor? Medical issues are none of your business and if you were truly concerned, you would have done your job like other hotels do and ask all of your pre check-in questions before accepting payment, not after and then charge a $150 cleaning fee that no one else has ever charged.

This "manager", her boss, and choice hotels refuse to accept responsibility for their fraudulent charges and behavior. Apparently this is a franchise so corporate claims they can't do anything to help. Sara refuses to provide any info or deliver messages to the owner and the owner has refused to resolve this as of today. Corporate aka choice hotels also refuses to take responsibility even though this econo lodge is under their corporate name. My reviews are constantly deleted. Guess they don't want the truth out there.

Corporate Rate
April 27, 2023

If you wanna corporate rate you better look for another hotel franchise. I have left and filled out the information and they say they will call you back. I've done this three times and no call back. I'm guessing they only give a corporate rate to companies that apply for the credit card. SMH

I was given five different prices for the same hotel in the same room for the same dates when I called. And none of those prices matched when you search on the app or website. Upon talking to three different people to try to figure out why none of this was matching up they had no answers for me. I wanted transferred me to what they said was quality control because I wanted to talk to a manager and that's all they had was quality control supposedly. That person looked at exactly what I was talking about and gave me a sixth price. All said there's nothing they can do they see what I'm seeing but that's the price that was coming up on their end or I should say prices because it was plural at different times in this hour and 15 minute conversation to try to figure it out. All in all nothing got figured out I didn't settle for the higher price because I think it's very bad business to offer one thing and deliver another and I simply don't trust him. I would not recommend using them. If I could give less than a one I absolutely would
