On March 14,2022, we book a cruise to depart from Los Angeles on August 6,2022. On May 19,2022, we booked airline tickets through Carnival that were supposed to leave on August 6,2022 Southwest Flight 4389 6:10 am arriving in Nashville at 6:45 am, Leaving Nashville at 7:40 am arriving in Los Angeles at 9:55 am. The reason we booked the cruise and flight like this is that I am disabled, waiting for a Heart Transplant and have to take certain medication at certain times. Also, the medication needs to be refrigerated. In addition, I have to board two dogs, which we were going to do on August 5,2022. We paid in full for everything. Today, I get an itinerary from Carnival stating that they changed the flights to August 5,2022, leaving RDU at 11:50 am arriving in Los Angeles at 6:20 pm. They NEVER called to ask if this was ok. I called them and they stated that they cannot do anything for us, including giving us a refund for everything we spent on this. I offered a solution and told them that since we have to come a day early, I would expect them to pay for a hotel overnight and pay for the extra day that the dogs will have to be boarded with is $80.00 x 2 = $160.00. They told me no. This is not my fault that they didn't honor our other flights and why should I be out money for their mistakes. We are good clients with them, but they are so hurt for cash, and they really don't care. Now I'm going to be out over $4000. 00 because of their mistakes and that is not fair. Lets PUT CARNIVAL OUT OF BUSINESS!
This company is an absolute joke, sat on hold for 3 hours, got bounced between multiple people and the last person named Regina was extremely rude and unwilling to come up with a resolution. Our cruise was booked prior to a change in their policies and we were not updated to their changes. I will never do business with Carnival again.
Carnival will hire you as a PVP, Personal Vacation Planner, then let you go right before your 90 days are up so they don't have to pay you benefits.
June 20th-25 we went on the Carnival Ecstasy we were In cabin E68 and it had a very strong smell, me and my husband moved the table and chair that backed up to the bathroom and it had mold all over the carpet. I went to quest service and asked to be moved that we would pay extra, they told me the ship was sold out. They sent someone In twice to clean the carpet. It didnt help. Finally on the 3rd night of our 5 night cruise one of the quest service ladys ask me about the smell, I had her walk in my room and she knew exactly what the smell was "mold". She offered to clean carpet again. Still didnt help. Last night of our cruise they sent a bottle of wine. This didnt fix our problem... to help us get through the smell I poured peppermint oil on the carpet and put the oil on a mask and hung it on the air condition vent... our booking number X41CT5
I will never book Carnival again. & will be very vocal to everyone I know as well as on social media. I was told by Executive Resolutions on 6/5 that I could change cruise dates & not lose my money (after a few calls of others giving conflicting info on cancellation) I call today to change cruise dates as I work in healthcare & Covid has not gone away! I was told Carnival changed their policy on 6/29 without notice to customers OR staff! Now I will lose all but $150 on my $2400 cruise. Shame on Carnival. I will be contacting BBB & posting this same message to other sites as well. There are other cruise companies to chose from…chose those!
Myself, boyfriend & his family booked a 5 day cruise. If Going through onboarding clearance on a hot day wasn't enough, only to find out our rooms weren't ready until 130 pushing everyone like cattle to various eating areas. The brochure says breakfast at 6 but breakfast opened at 7. The only good meals was jiji Japanese/Mongolian grill. Majority of free buffet(lido) food was tasteless. My boyfriend paid $17 for 24 hour internet that was crappy (at minimum) & kept buffering. The next internet value would've been $50! My home internet is $80 for a month. We've paid $1k for cruise expenses but couldn't get free/appropriate internet for only 5 days?!
***Beware of the hidden charges—i reached out & visited guest services & surely there was a hidden $58 tip that they wanted to charge on my account upon debarkment. Why not have an ATM available for ppl to tip cleaners as they please?
The racism on the ship is amook! On the day of the shuttle ship to island, there was African American majority(top & bottom, very few whites); island back to ship was horrible. I decided to sit on top on the way back then surrounded by whites who suddenly got quiet. I could count on one hand of black minorities going back. On a 3k passenger cruise, There were STARK difference of eateries & different floors. The majority of blacks were on the 9th floor with free buffets(Lido) & surrounding restaurants while majority of whites were at the Captain's dinner(5th floor)—blacks were welcome too but the racism was obvious.
It's just better to choose a better managed cruise.
My sister and I cancelled our cruise for the magic for June 2022.ok we made a deposit of$100.00. From my friend visa card on apr. 24,2021 her name is Sabrina.B.my sister ai knew we were not going to get our deposit back. From that card.we pd a total of 500.00. Minus the deposit.my sister was refunded her $400. They refunded my $100.00 to Sabrina B card. Which was supposed to be refunded to my card. Which I pf.$100.00.and my name is Sabrina also. When I spoke to Eric on phone he pretty much told me I was out of luck.and it seemed as if my $100.00 was on sabrina. B card. And he couldn't reverse it.so I never got a apology or any remorse about the mistake.so the phone call went silent! So I am out of $100.00. Like that's not a lot of money. Totally disappointed.
My 13 year old daughter and I just returned from our four night cruise to the Bahamas on the Liberty, leaving from Port Canaveral and going to Nassau and Princess Cay, the private island. This is our fourth cruise on Carnival. The ship is clean and beautiful. My daughter really enjoyed the teen club and made several new friends that live near us. The activities for the teens was organized, fun and engaging and I felt very safe leaving her in the Club O2. While I know that Carnival is a fun ship and people enjoy drinking alcohol because they are on vacation and don't have to worry about drinking and driving, I feel that drinking to excess leads some people to be belligerent and confrontational when they normally wouldn't be. I saw people who literally had an alcoholic drink in their hands from 9 AM until 2 AM. Is that normal? Our room steward, Arnel, was amazing. We WERE booked on the Carnival Freedom, which caught fire 4 days before our cruise, so we were able to get on the Liberty AND we get a 100% free cruise, which we must take on Carnival. We will try Royal Caribbean next time. Bon Voyage and safe travels, everyone!
We went in Carnival Paradise on June 4th, 2022, got back on June 9th. We were a party of 6. We registered for 12:30, and when we got there, people from 1-1:30 were already ahead of us. Question? Why registered then?
Thank they did nothing t follow the guidelines, people were so closed to each other, scary!
There were a little y of activities and we were all too closed to each other.
The Casino, the Karaoke place, and others were also very crowded and people were no wearing masks.
From the 6 people on our party, 5 came out of the ship testing positive!
I called the nurse a couple of time to see if she can do a COVID testing around 7, she told me I have to wait until after 8. That was debarkation day, so because if my Muster station, I was supposed to leave the ship before that, which I did! Came home feeling really sick, coughing, head ache, running nose. Good thing I have tests at home, as soon as I tested myself it was positive. So did my two sons and a friend of mine! I bet there were more people that got the Covid, and did not say anything!
The Buffet at the Lido restaurant lines were too long and slow!
We weren't impressed with the food either at least at the buffet. Like I said before too crowded!
By the way we are all vaccinated. I have two booster, and so one of my son. We tested negative before we went on the cruise!
We unfortunately received news that my father in-law passed away while entering the parking garage at the cruise terminal. None of the employees at the cruise terminal could help us and I was handed a 1-800 number to call about rescheduling our cruise. After being on hold over one hour I was told Carnival would only refund my port fees and prepaid tips if we decided not to board - they would not allow us to reschedule. I have since spoke with another cruise line who advised the worst case scenario I would have lost $100/person and been issued a credit for the balance to use on a future cruise. We rented a suite for the 7 day cruise so we would have been out $8K. My wife got off the boat and my two children and myself took the cruise. We booked on the newer Mardi Gras ship. The suite had many quality issues - the shower door leaked so much water that we had to place three towels outside the door to catch all of the water. The balcony door from the bedroom also leaked and I had to change socks on two occasions after stepping near the balcony door and soaking my socks. The occupants of the suite on the opposite corner did complain about this so I followed and also complained. They placed a fan in my room and it took a day to dry the carpet out. You were always waiting for an elevator - not nearly enough for the size of the ship. As with the other Carnival cruise I was on you are always in waiting in line for food although the variety and quality of food was better on this newer ship. The employees on the ship were both friendly and helpful. Avoid this greedy and unsympathetic cruise line at all costs - you will be much happier sailing with one of their competitors.
Just came off carnival sunrise went in with a negative Covid test came out with a POSTIVE test short staff AC didn't work properly got a perfume stolen out of my room went to file a report they answered me what would you like us to do they took extra cash out of my card said they gave me a refund and it will take 5 or more days food quality was very poor on a postive note shows were good half moon cay was beautiful and all my cruise cousins made my vacation wonderful cruise cousins meaning other quest I will not be doing the sunrise again but will still use carnival my last experience on sensation was Fabolous this one not so much
We was not able to board because I didn't have our birth certificates, didn't realize I needed them, that our driver's license and immunization record and negative Covid test was all we needed
My experience last year changed my opinion of Carnival Cruise. I booked a cruise early last yr. I sent and email on Dec 28,2021requesting cancellation for 100% refund of my deposit. Carinival allowed until February 2022 to cancel with full. Refund. I have gotten the run around, been on hold 3 times. Each time over 2 hrs. I still have not received my refund. Rep I did finally speak to advised I would be charged $100 cancellation fee. UNACCEPTABLE! I will file complaint with BBB and Attorney General
When you think of taking a cruise you genuinely think you want to get on a fun boat with a good company. Well carnival is not that company. The customer service on a carnival cruise is a joke. I have cruised on Virgin, Norwegian, Royal Caribbean, and now I'm currently on a carnival cruise 1 hour from leaving the doc and writing a one star review. The other three cruise line I mentioned are great. Spend your money with them. Don't waist your money on a carnival cruise. I will continue to cruise often. I will never cruise Carnival again.
I am writing this review in order to express my total satisfaction with Carnival Cruise Line employee Samantha Jackson (Mappers AUQ). Samantha was very understanding of my need to cancel my cruise and worked with me to facilitate the cancellation. She explained everything that was transpiring to me and made me feel valued as a customer. I do not see how my situation could have been handled any better than it was. Thank You for the efforts that you put forth Samantha! RL in IN
Carnival cruise line is terrible. The other reviews on this site and many others definitely say it all. We booked a 5 day cruise in which their website glitched while purchasing our add-on items, such as drink packages. We received confirmation, but days later noticed on our card statement that carnival did not run the charges. Of course, in just those few days they had raised all the prices. When trying to sort everything out with several calls, we were told without a history of credit card purchase we would have to pay several hundred dollars more. That is the point, your site glitched and showed these packages as being purchased but you did not run my card. How would I know before checking my statement that it did not go through when you sent me a confirmation? This was an issue their site conveniently had with many travelers apparently. I find this a very unsavory way to treat your customers.
We booked a cruise and purchased the "Insurance" I have MS, and a month before the sail date, I had an attack and realized I could not make the cruise. I got about 25% of the total cost returned. If I wanted more, I needed to call another business that handles the insurance (The insurance company is part of Carnival.) The service person at the insurance company was so rude I hung up and called back to get another agent. The following agent was worse than the first! I realized that this "Insurance" is a racket. You have to jump through so many hoops and get Doctor's signature to get SOME of the money back. I know they have it all in writing on the site about how the insurance works, but it is nothing but a sweet fairytale. After 4 cruises with Carnival that we enjoyed but I won't take ANY cruise with any line in the future.
Amazing except that the comedians with 30 yrs experience happen to repeat their jokes half of the time. How boring. Ship ran out of fun stuff to do at night that force ppl to go to the casinos that destroy people with their machines. I lost a lot of money to their dishonest machine dealing. Very unhappy! Never come back! James Love the director to blame for this!
They need to have more customer service,, just 2 in a full ship! Come one the wait is like 3 hours I don't recommend this cruise they can do better
I would like to cruise. I miss it. I feel that after the Superbowl, the message was CLEAR that the plandemic is OVER. Cruise lines need to get with the program on that. Anyone who gets a vaccine just to take a cruise is crazy. I don't want that poison in my body.
Answer: To Whom it may concern, This is my 4th email, that I have sent regarding a cancelled cruise. I have been cruising with Carnival for a little while now and really enjoy the trips I take. I was suppose to cruise out on October 22,2022 and because my elderly father was diagnosed with cancer, (I was informed today) the physician wants to get his plan up and going. I found it very disappointing that Carnival is deciding not to give me my money back. It doesn't have to be money, I asked for a credit to cruise later; I was told that couldn't be done. It is not fair that I'm having $1733.00 taken away from me. Life is hard and if I could be on that ship on October 22,2022 I would've without a doubt. I would like for someone to take a look at my concern, address my concern, and return my funds or allow me to use this as a credit in the future. I'm hurt by the diagnosis of my father and to learn that Carnival will not assist in my time of need is very stressful. My booking for this cruise is B4W1B8, my PIN is 2221. I will await a resolution to my concern. Please allow my money to be returned or give me credit for another cruise. $1733.00 is not easy to come by. I can't imagine them being so greedy for money. I don't even want the money back, I just asked for a credit for a future cruise. I will take a cruise with Carnival in February 2023, I was told that someone would get back to me and I haven't received a call yet. Respectfully, LaShunda Culclager 972-801-8004
Answer: Called them and couldn't get my refund. They are thieves and do not care for there repeat customers. Stay far away from Carnival.
