I will start with the ship interior design; as you can see from the attached pictures right outside of our cabin on all the walls, there are tons of inappropriate pictures and there's a huge nude statue in the middle of the ship. We have a 7 years old daughter who I have to explain that to her.
That ship should not be a family friendly instead you can state during booking that it is adult only ship.

Second, the customer service at the bar is not friendly and not as expected. My wife went to the bar to get us 2 drinks; when she asked for 2 strwas, the bartender gave her only one, responding to my wife that one the drinks dosen't come with a straw. Such a great service when the bartender tells you how to get your drink.

Third, the ship condition is in desperate need of repairs and maintenance. There's rust everywhere not only in the exterior but also inside the interior, even inside our state room (see pictures).

Also, during the cleaning of our room, the cleaning staff left a dirty glove on our vanity. That was disgusting.

Last and most important, we missed the last port of call. We paid to go to 3 ports. Missing the last port ruined our plans. Carnival only returned $18 for Missing a port.

We booked in February a cruise for April 2024. We payed the required deposit and added also insurance on it because things can change but no one told us that that had to be paid right away too. We was told it has to be paid before full payment of cruise. Now 3 months later we saw that we had to move the cruise for 2 weeks later ( that cruise would be even more expensive) guess what out of luck. We spoke with 10 different people. No help. Even if we had paid the insurance right away there would be no guarantee we get the deposit back. We did not even mind loosing the extras who came with the other cruise we just wanted that the deposit get transferred to the next cruise or a board credit ( which had ended up in their pockets anyway) but no, absolutely no help. So we canceled completely and lost our deposit 3months after we booked., but I refuse to give a company who cares so less about their customers or even keeping customers for their business any penny more. NEVER again Carnival

We had a household emergency the night before our cruise. We called that night to talk to a carnival representative 10 minutes before they closed and she said no problem we could transfer your cruise for $75. The only downside was that we had to decide our next vacation in 10 minutes without having looked at it, and being flustered that our kitchen was flooded, cabinets were crumbling, and water was smelling bad and mold was growing. We could not leave our house and my parents this way and couldn't make a decision on our next cruise in 10 minutes. She told us we could also do it the next morning, the day of our cruise if we wanted to, as long as we did it before departure. Then we called the next morning and that carnival representative told us we could not transfer for $75 and we would lose our entire $1700 cruise money and get nothing for it. We have been cruising with Carnival for 17 years, are platinum cruisers, and I have up until this point been a carnival stockholder, if they continue to hold this line that they are giving us nothing and taking our $1700 for a cruise we will not receive, of course I will sell my stock and never cruise on carnival again. We will have to find a new cruise line to give our loyalty to. All I can say is buyer beware. It appears the carnival ship is sinking fast and they are not valuing customer service anymore and not making things right when their employee makes a mistake. I advise you to choose another cruise line.

Never again
June 16, 2023

I recently went on the liberty out of Tampa. So essentially the food has reached cafeteria level. It's hard to find anyone working who's actually happy to be there but there are some. They over sold the boat to a ridiculous level. Zero concern as a company for there quality or the experience of the guests. Greed has ruined every companies ethics at this point. The activities were okay and also consisted of pleads to convince you your having a great time so you rate them well. I honestly don't know why they care because carnival sure doesn't. I think they are totally happy with a crappy cruise line. Also long long lines for EVERYTHING. One ice cream machine for over 2500 guests. I had issues with an excursion some drinks and WiFi. Guest relations were zero help and the carnival credit card is essentially no help either. I did the after cruise survey and received zero response from the company. There isn't even a "post cruise" human to speak to. It sends you to some link where no one cares. Honestly I used to love carnival but I will never use them again. Not really a deal at all for what we paid. This was a very low negative vibe experience.

I cruised June 8-12 on the Carnival Sunrise. It was the most terrible experience I ever I ever had out of 6 cruises I have been on. The food choices were terrible especially for ppl who don't eat pork or beef. The chicken products they had they added pork or beef. All I while I was on the ship I ate salads, deli sandwiched and cheese pizza. The night before the last day I found Lobster, shrimp and crab legs. I went to purchase my pictures which I was charged $234 for 8 pictures, when my fiancé when back to picture booth, the guy stated I paid for 12 and he made a mistake and gave him the other 4. Kids were running up and down halls slamming doors 1a-4am no supervision, along with playing on the steps. All the pools were occupied by children even serenity. I paid for services I did not get.

Shame on Carnival
May 18, 2023

Pretty much the reviews I read on her are a lot similar to the experiences that have has in the past ( last year) I'm already having a bad experience and I haven't even gotten on the boat yet. This sis my 7th time Cruisin with carnival. I said I was changing cruise line after last years experience. Here I am again but it's my last. I cruise every year for my birthday & I shouldnt have to deal with a company that's been in bussiness many many years. When you call one representative you get told bits & pieces. It's not until you call back to get more information that you find out a little bit more. By this time your cruise is either cancelled or pay more. Mo money mo money...is what carnival is all about. You can ask fir corporate office numbers all day & write reviews all day. NO ONE is going to do anything. I'm just writing a review even nothing is going to be done or happen. At at least gives me a chance to let other cruisers know that carnival is a rip off

May 17, 2023

May 8th I was so excited for my first ever Carnival Cruise with my mom who lives in Florida and me in Texas! I booked through Cruise it, They mentioned my mom bringing her birth certificate cause she lived in Florida, however Not MINE! This was a Mother's Day gift to my mom all on ME,Get ri Galveston first thing they do is take our bags (The Porter's) mind you I tripped... Going through the Security, passed the drug dog just to be turned down. Talking about heartbreaking! Unfortunately my birth Certificate was at home.I live by myself if I would a known of course I would a bought...but not to even be credited for another trip is horrible! I was so excited and to make it worse our clothes are still not here and it's a process

I have been on a Carnival cruise before. The Liberty ship experience was the worse. First, the information that I received from my personal planner wasn't the same when I boarded the ship. Secondly, it was too many people on that old smaller ship. Thirdly, the directions on how to get around the ship was very confusing. We spent most of the time being lost from point A to point B. Lastly, the departure process was so unorganized left people confused again. This past past weekend was my first experience on Liberty and my last!

Carnival Paradise
April 28, 2023

Let me preface this by saying only 4 of our 8 members were able to actually board the boat. The main caretaker of 3 was labeled completely unable to board due to a mishap in official documentation (the document was in German instead of English). Due to this mishap, the legitimacy of every other completely official document was swept under the rug. Every authority at the boarding location completely denied any of her documents due to an absurdly-made judgment on their part. Due to this, the caretaker and the three children she was looking after were unable to board the boat. This is only the start of it. Everyone one the boat was charged double for their add-ons. Any costly drink package, off-shore excursion activity, and more were charged for once off the ship, and once on the ship. After it was found out, the ship was yet to refund the extra charge. Instead, they completely turned off any package, making the purchasers unable to use them. Yeah. We got charged twice and then we were unable to use what we just payed for. Don't go here. It was a complete stress on everyone involved.

I sailed on Carnival Mardi Gras 12-31-22 thru 1-6-23. I lost a bundle in the casino. I was told by the casino employee that o would get Spa charges refunded as a comp to my play time. I never got it. Customer care transferred me to players club, players club sent me to customer care….: Nobody wants to help me

Literally if you buy the drink package you can't have a water and an alcoholic beverage within 5 minutes. What kind of Cruise Line limits water?

Horrible cruise
April 14, 2023

I couldn't believe Carnival made all there paying customers before loading on the ship go to a 3 hour harassment orientation to buy time share in some condo's in Florida that the sales harasser would absolutely not take NO for an answer and even threatened to pull us off the ship if we would agree to the time share. I'm so upset with Carnival for putting us all on the spot like that! The ship was dirty and hardly any entertainment, I regret spending my money and time on Carnival. Please do your research, there's alot better cruise lines out there!

Save your money!
April 12, 2023

From start to finish, it was a HORRIBLE experience! The customer service from all forward facing staff was HORRIFIC( behind the scenes was different, aka housekeeping/room attendant, food bussers etc)

They lost my luggage, food was HORRIBLE, chose to take us to a port we couldn't use due to weather ( even though it was the same forecast for two weeks prior- no surprise) no refunds, no new activities. Pool was closed, boat overbooked.

Cheesy, horrible shows…

I could go on and on and on

We sailed out of Baltimore. My daughter and I paid $106 to play bingo. It was a 'win a cruise' bingo. When we played, the first two games were for money. We won the cruise.
Here is the problem: It is for a 5 day cruise, inside cabin, two people, must be booked within 30 days and used within 6 months.
Baltimore doesn't have 5 day cruises. I called carnival and was told I could fly to Miami or dirve 10 hours to Charleston. Insane.
Worst joke ever.

All about money
April 3, 2023

The cruise was paid for and then we got a phone call for a family emergency called to change the dates on the cruise they basically told us we don't care about your family emergency you're changing the crews and we're going to penalize you for it They took 30% of the money we paid for the cruise will not give it back We just wanted to change the dates so we could go on a cruise They were very inconsiderate and rude we have cruised in the past with no problems but they made this experience So bad that we may never cruise again I can only imagine if something happened on the cruise how anybody would get treated if this is the way they treat you before the cruise

Unexpected cancel
April 3, 2023

CARNIVAL CRUISE from Miami. Booked cruise to meet with other family, planned a yr in advance. Bought the trip insurance, in case of unexpected events. Within a month of trip, the unexpected came up. Who knows "unexpected" comes up 3-6 months before? The insurance company pretty much outlined "dead, dying, or deployed military." Neither of my issues, so declined my request. Carnival simply says we're taking your $$$, shut up. I asked for future credit and was summarily dismissed. I wasn't reimbursed for 50% of trip for 2, pre paid gratuities, nor internet paid. Stay away from these theives!
I decline to provide proof of purchase with my private info on it
