Buyer beware: be careful when booking with Cancelon. I booked a 2 night stay at a hotel in Palm Springs. The booking page stated nothing about a mandatory hotel fee. This was misleading and false advertising! When I approached Cancelon about it they refused to cancel and would not provide a refund. I have commenced a credit card chargeback investigation via my bank. I'm now $344 out of pocket. The worst hotel booking site I have used. Do your research before using them! Terrible!
Update: No, your customer service is terrible! You have not resolved this issue. I have been asking for a full refund for weeks now and you have only done a partial $65. I did not stay at the hotel using your booking therefore I request a full refund.
Cancelon has been awful. I booked a hotel in Austin for 4 nights for a conference. I arrived at the hotel and there was no record of my reservation. We tried multiple times to get through to customer service. After over an hour of trying, they answered and said they'd call me back. Thirty minutes later, they call back with a confirmation number-- still nothing on the hotel's end. They say they'll call back again. Call back, different confirmation number-- still nothing on the hotel's end. They say they'll call back again. The hotel has only 1 room for 2 nights (not 4), so I book those since there is NOTHING else in the area of where I need to be. This time, they call back and give me the confirmation number of the room I JUST BOOKED, trying to claim it was my original, 4-night booking. They then tell me that the hotel I booked is in the UK, not Austin. Not that I'm a moron, but I check my booking anyway-- address is for the hotel in Austin, not a hotel in the UK. THey then tell me that they'll refund me the money and argue they now also owe me the difference in cost for what I had to pay for 4 nights and for more expensive rooms, they argue but eventually say they will email me confirming they will refund and compensate me for the additional costs.
Weeks go by, nothing. I call and they tell me '"they're waiting for an update." They also say I need to provide them a receipt showing that I paid the hotel. I provide them that and they say they will email me. Another week or 2 goes by-- nothing. Email again-- they reply with the same, generic "waiting for an update" email. I have now received the same, generic email 3 times. It has been 6 weeks since my trip and I am no further along in the process than when I first communicated with them. I ended up paying twice as much for the hotel for half the number of nights. They are blatant liars and just seem to make things up and delay the process in hopes that you'll stop fighting the charges and keep the money.

(Booking number: *******) I booked a hotel for 3 nights in Europe through TRIPADVISOR and then got an email confirmation for my booking from "Cancelon". This is not who I was originally booking through, so why am I receiving email confirmation from this website I have never heard about?! I called customer service and they stated that they could not give me a full refund and that they will be charging me a $51 convenience charge that they apparently had to pay TripAdvisor?!?! I had only booked 5 minutes before calling Cancelon's customer service to cancel. They also stated it would take 10 days to get my money back! What a joke, I would never ever use this company! Horrible Customer Service! I want a refund for my whole booking! I want my $51 back!
Dear Annette, hope you are well. We are sorry for the inconvenience. Thank you for sharing your experience. We would like to inform you that we have issued you full refund now and you should see the amount on your card with 24-48 hours. Please let us know if you have any queries. Thanks and Regards, Antonio
I booked a four night stay with them. They charged my credit card within minutes. Then, within an hour, because of an unavoidable conflict I asked them to change the arrival night by one day. They said that their travel partner would contact the hotel to make the change. I waited a week and heard nothing. I contacted the hotel. The hotel said it should be no problem, as they had plenty of rooms, but that they could not change it unless Cancelon or the travel partner who made the reservation contacted them. After another week, I called the hotel again and they said they still had not heard from Cancelon or anyone else. Finally, Cancelon contacted me to say they had tried but the hotel said no. I again contacted the hotel and they said no one had ever contacted them. Never use this company. They will take your money, then tell you one thing and then do another.
Dear Valued Guest, hope you are well. We are sorry for the inconvenience. Thank you for sharing your experience. I was not able to locate your booking details using your first name. Kindly share your Reservation number (Itinerary number or Order-id of 6 digits). Thanks and Regards, Saurabh
I booked 3 nights in Kuta beach, Bali for $394. Then I realized it was a mistake, so I called the company. Asked them to cancel the reservation and waive the $19 cancellation fee.
They did and I received the confirmation within minutes. I checked my credit card and my charge was reversed as promised and I get a full refund.
Would probably use them again but still puzzled as to why there as so many negative reviews. Compared to positive ones, 5 to 1 ratio.
Dear Anh, we want to thank you for sharing your feedback and for your kind words. We will continue to do our best to provide the best customer experience. Thank you again! Please do not hesitate to contact us for any assistance. Kind Regards, Saurabh
Do not deal with this company. I reserved a room at Bryce Canyon Lodge through Cancelon, because it is difficult and in some cases not possible to book hotels in the national parks on a direct basis. Cancelon charged $319 for a room for which we later saw in the (in-room) notice that the price was $202. Even if we might accept that 10% tax and a handling fee should be added on top of $202, were still horribly overcharged.
Dear Don, hope you are well. We are sorry for the inconvenience. Thank you for sharing your experience. I was not able to locate your booking details using your first name. Kindly share your Reservation number (Itinerary number or Order-id of 6 digits). Thanks and Regards, Saurabh
I wish I would of NEVER booked with this company. My daughter came down extremely sick on the morning of our dream trip to Japan. We had to cancel. I am fully aware of cancelation policies but most airlines and hotels will refund with medical documentation. CancelOn uses a MIDDLE MAN and is blaming THEM for not honoring my request. CancelOn has proven to me not to be an honorable company. Shady in the least. Thank you sitejabber!
Dear Holly, Hope you are well. We are sorry for the inconvenience. I hope your daughter is feeling better. I was not able to locate your booking details using your first name. May you please share them? Thanks and Regards, Yulia
I had a reservation and cancelled it but did not get my full refund. This underhanded business kept $93 of MY MONEY and believe me I WILL NEVER EVER USE TripAdvisor again for using a business like CancelOn on their Website. Going back to Expedia and I suggest you do the same.
Dear Jeanette, hope you are well. We are sorry for the inconvenience. Thank you for sharing your experience. I was not able to locate your booking details using your first name. May you please share them? Thanks and Regards, Yulia
They somehow got a hold of my credit card numbers and charged me $143.00. Amex cancelled the charge.
Dear Salami, Hope you are well. I was not able to locate your reservation details using your first name. Please kindly share your details so we can check the charge that was made with your card. We are doing our best to fight the fraud online practices and use various techniques to prevent it. We will do our best to resolve this. Looking forward to hearing from you. Kind Regards, Yulia
We thought we were dealing with the hotel in Miami. It turns out we were dealing with Cancelon. We gave them our card they billed us in September 2017. When we got to the hotel the middle of November they said the reservation has been made and was canceled shortly after that so we were out $206 we had to buy the room again. So at the end of the day they have our $206 and we ended up sitting at the front counter trying to get this squared away. The Hotel said this is a third-party and we arent the first people that had this same exact problem with this same exact company.
Dear M S.,

From cancelon.com BOOKING #*******
"Dear Kenon,
Hope you are well.
Unfortunately, we couldn't confirm your reservation with the hotel as our bank did not authorize the transaction.
We had to cancel your reservation and refund you fully.
You will see the refund in your account in next 3-10 working days.
We request you to use a different card for the payment of Cancelon deals
Best Regards,
Abbey"
Do not use them if you really need your room to be available for you. They do not care about your plans or reservations, trust me. You WILL be screwed, so don't say you weren't warned.
Dear Kenon,
Thank you for sharing your experience. We advise you to use a different card/ PayPal for making new reservation with Cancelon. We apologies again.
Please let us know if there is anything additional we can assist with.
Kind Regards,
Saurabh
Booked though cancelon, I'm worried as am having the same experience. Hotel has no record of my booking and we have already been charged. This is a get away for my birthday and the hotel tells me that they are fully booked and that the do not book though cancelon. Called cancelon and they tell me I will receive confirmation in 2 to 3 days hoping this is true after reading reviews am very worried.

My husband and I were traveling to France in October and we were booking our own hotels online. I found a hotel for Bayeux, France that we wanted to stay at on Trip Advisor. As I proceeded with booking the hotel, my reservation got transferred to a company called CancelOn. I did not realize that it had been switched until I was done with the booking. I read the reviews of the company and was dismayed to see all of the negative reviews. But we had NO PROBLEMS AT ALL! Cancel On confirmed our reservation in the amount of time that they had said that they would. When we contacted the hotel, they had our reservation and best of all when we got to Bayeux everything was in order and we had a great stay. I would definitely use Cancel On again.
Dear Coleen, we want to thank you for sharing your feedback and for your kind words. We will continue to do our best to provide the best customer experience. Thank you again! Please do not hesitate to contact us for any assistance. Kind Regards, Yulia
Trying to book a room, chose the more expensive room because we wanted the "flexible-refund". Was on the payment page, and right there on the left was the flexible-refund option. Put in the credit card, PRE-PAID, not just saved, and my confirmation states: Your reservation is non-refundable. It can not be cancelled and can not be amended. I've reached-out to customer service, sent numerous screen shots and even got an email stating that the flexible-refund would be available if necessary. Then two days later, received a second email stating that it was a different room, and that the flexible-refund is no longer available.
Dear Robert, Hope you are well. I am very sorry for the inconvenience. I was not able to locate your booking using your name. Can you please provide it to me so I can look into it and fix the issue? Looking forward to hearing from you. Kind Regards, Yulia
Booked thru TripAdvisor, somehow this company was the middle man. Cancelon charged my credit card immediately, had my hotel stay at which point the hotel charged me again despite my assurances I had already paid via Cancelon. They had no record. I have emailed Cancelon many times, they said I would have my refund in 10-14 days - it is now 14 days and they 'need more time". DONOT USE THIS COMPANY.
Dear Joan,
Thank you for sharing your experience on TrustPilot. We are very sorry for the inconvenience. Please note we have refunded you fully and the amount will reflect within 3-10 working days. Kindly check your email & let us know if there is anything additional we can assist with.

1 star because 0 stars is not an option. This company is a scam. I made a reservation with them (unfortunately this was before I read their horrific reviews) and got an email stating that I would receive the final hotel confirmation number 1 day prior to check-in. This seemed sketchy to me so I sent an email requesting the confirmation number today. I eventually got an email with the final hotel confirmation number later this afternoon. I called the hotel and they did have a reservation in my name corresponding to the confirmation number - but they told me the reservation had been cancelled. I asked WHEN the reservation had been cancelled (thinking that maybe it was listed as cancelled because I was purchasing a 'cancelled' reservation) and they informed me that it was cancelled TODAY (right after I received my 'final hotel confirmation' email from cancelon...). No big deal, I thought - I will just cancel my booking and do it directly through the hotel (my trip isn't for another month anyway). The multiple confirmation emails I had already received all stated that any cancellation prior to November 25th is fully refundable. Well, after cancelling I got an email telling me that my refund amount is for $98.00 less than the original charge. Nowhere does it state there is a cancellation fee. I WANT MY FULL REFUND! If I do not receive a full refund, I will absolutely be reporting this company to the Better Business Bureau.
Deat Cathy, We are sorry for the inconvenience. We are checking this incident as we have never requested to cancel your reservation but to receive the final confirmation number. One of our supervisors will contact you today to resolve the situation and to make sure we succeed to meet your expectations. Kind Regards, Yulia
If there is any chance you will need to change your reservation, do not use them. Even if there is a date until you can change the reservation, they will find a way around it if it means that you would receive a refund. When you call, you get a person with a very heavy accent and they just recite from a script that they will check with the hotel and you will receive an email. The email never comes and they continue to put you off until the deadline has past. I will NEVER use them again and if there was a rating less than 1 star I would give them that!
Dear Amy, We are extremely sorry for the inconvenience. In order for us to try and resolve this situation and investigate it thoroughly, please kindly share your reservation number as I was unable to locate it using your name. Looking forward to hearing from you. Kind Regards, Saurabh
NEVER USE CANCELON! I have had the worst experience trying to get my refund from Cancelon. I was in Las Vegas during the tragic massacre and we needed to check out of our hotel a day early. The hotel stated they would be more than happy to refund us the room rate for checking out early. I called Cancelon and spoke to "patrick" who stated they would contact the hotel and get my refund processed within 7 business days. After more than 7 days had gone by I called Cancelon back because I didnt get my refund. This time I talked to someone who states his name is "Johnson" he was so rude I could hardly get my question out of my mouth with out him interrupting me. He stated that what Patrick told me was incorrect and that I needed to contact the hotel myself and have them send an email to Cancelon. I know this was incorrect because I spoke with the Hotel directly and they said that is not how it is ever done. After expressing my frustration with Johnson he became very rude. I asked to be transferred to someone else and he refused. He stated there was no one else to talk to even though I could hear multiple people in the background behind him. After he wouldn't transfer me to someone else I asked to speak with his manager or supervisor and he told me they were on another phone call. I told him I would. He then told me "well it will be a long phone call" I again said "I will wait" after him telling me it would be a long call at last 5 more times he finally stated that their phone system does not allow people to be transferred. I know that is not the case because someone transferred me to him. At this point I am getting very frustrated and just want to write down his name so I have a reference when I call back. He would not give the spelling of his name. First he said his name was spelled Johnson then he said it was spelled Jhonsen. I asked him for the correct spelling once more and he said "I will not spell it for you again because you do not know the alphabet" That was the last straw for me. He clearly speaks english as a second language and wanted to tell me that I don't know the alphabet. Very very frustrating. I am telling everyone I know to never use Cancelon. After hanging up with Johnson or Jhonsen whatever his name is I called the hotel and they said they sent an email over to cancelon the day that we checked out to have this taken care of right away. Cancelon is a TOTAL JOKE! And RUDE! I wish I had read the reviews before booking. Lesson Learned.
Dear Ashley, We are very sorry for delay in your matter. We would like to inform you that we have issued you refund for the last night and you should see the refund on your statement within 3-10 business days. Kind Regards, Saurabh
Is it a fraud operation? I purchased a hotel and received an e-mail stating that "We received your payment for reservation". I also received the e-mail confirmation and tried to conatct the hotel and I am told they have not received anything under my name. They told me it is so strange the way Cancelon is procedding. I tried to reach them in the phone number and you can never reach them. There is nobody getting your calls, except some music running for hours. The hotel asked for their number as well so that they could contact them. Let us hope they would not be in the terms of being investigated.

Buyer Beware!
10/17/17: I purchased a hotel rental and received an email stating "We received your payment for reservation... you will get your email confirmation shortly". On 10/18/17 (more than 24 hours later) I still hadn't received said confirmation. Upon calling I was told a manager would call me back as the reservation was "declined". I asked had it been my credit card. The agent said no it had been declined on the side of the hotel. After further discussion I realized his english was limited and what he was trying to say is that the hotel was sold out, he didnt have the authority to book another hotel and that the manager was unavailable. I declined the call back and asked to hold for a supervisor. 33 minutes later I get a supervisor on the line(also limited english) who explained they were sold out and that he could book a similar hotel at 3 times the original cost of my original reservation. Sent me a cancellation email. Still not refunded. I explained had I not called I would be under the assumption that I had a reservation booked for 10/20/17. He kept apologizing. Needless to say its why I stay away from these pop up websites that clearly do not have it together. No refund yet. Filed a dispute.

We are sorry for the inconvenience you had to face.
