I had a problem with an item; it was exchanged; the price and the delivery were perfect. I can't imagine anyone having anything bad to say about a company that kept in touch every day and stayed with me to the end. I felt a friendly and caring communication from Canada Lighting and truly, I would never order anything online without checking to see if Canada Lighting Experts had the item. I trust them completely! This was a tremendous experience. These are honest and caring People.

Their website lists stock they do not have they gave a price and then charged 21 dollars more cancelled order due to being backordered 23 days refund took a week refunded less than charged guaranteed 3 day shipping or 25 dollars still waiting for my 25 dollars do not answer emails stay away

I ordered inserts for my potlights - 5" inserts. They billed me for 5" but sent me 4". They did not respond to any of my emails. When I called the toll free number I got a car dealership in New York. Stay away from this company. So glad that I did not spend any more money there. Habitat for Humanity will benefit from their screwup but I would NOT EVER recommend this company. And yes... the US thing that is a hoax too. I wouldn't even given them 1 star but you are forced to give at least one star. So what is the 1 star for? Well I guess at least they shipped something!

NOT CANADIAN!

We are very upset! We paid $318.95 and we now receive a credit of $159.47 LESS $80.55 to send back = $78.92 net credit against a purchase of $318.95 = $240.03 LOSS!

We are dealing with CANADA Lighting Experts, not USA! We feel we should not have to pay shipping from Cleveland, Ohio and back. We had no idea this was coming from the US.

FRAUD

The website clearly lists all prices in CAD and I purchased 2 lights, after 2 days I received an email from them saying that the items are discontinued and they will refund me! I checked my credit card and realized they charged me US dollars and after 15 days when they refunded me I lost $10 because of their conversion rate!
It's so ridicules that I lost money because of their business! I would call this syber fraud when you can sell items in cad, charged ppl USD and then making money due to conversion rate!

They charge USD with conversion rate on the day of purchase, don't get tricked.
I ordered LEDs and in just two hours I decided to cancel my order, and it was late night; and I got response that order already shipped and I cannot cancel it but I can easily return it. To USA. Via UPS! Why they don't accept for example Canada Post + USPS?

Plus, I need to return it directly to the manufacturer (as in case with Crystorama)

Are they located in USA? Or perhaps in India? Do they have any item in their own stock?

Why they use "Canada" in their domain-brand name?

This is from their Email response:
"Return shipping is not provided nor imbursed from our company."

LOL xa-xa-xa! The reason is obvious: you don't even have real address in the U.S.
How long will you survive on this market?

Not a good company

I ordered two light fixtures in mid Feb 2017 and to date have not received them. I also thought if was a Canadian company and got a good quote, later to find out that I was charged in US funds and they are being shipped from the US. Last week I emailed and asked where my order was, nothing. Finally got an email and they just did up the way bill today, they haven't even been shipped yet. Never again will I order from this company, for one thing NOT who they say they are! I just hope that I like the fixtures when they get here.

Don't be tricked..

I (stupidly) ordered 4 different sets of lights from this company before I realized that they are not a Canadian company at all - they are located in the US.

Only one of the items I ordered has been okay.

I purchased 2 lights that were listed as bathroom vanity lights, and when they arrived discovered that they were not rated for damp locations!

Another light was back-ordered for over a month, then they said it was no longer available!

The last light arrived today arrived with no real external packing & was so smashed that the delivery driver didn't even try to hand it to me (tracking shows that this item was sent from Canada, to the US, then back to Canada - no wonder it was smashed!)

Now the problems with refunds have begun... The items I had to return would have cost more to post to the US than I paid. I drove down to the States to post them, only to discover later that the email had listed an incorrect return address!

The emails about returns seem to quote the amount in USD (but not noted as such), and the exchange rate they are giving is atrocious!

I am yet to check my credit card statement to see whether they charged me in USD initially, as I have just read other reviewers have discovered... I will be VERY annoyed if this is the case!

Overall, although they offer a massive selection of lights, I would steer clear of this company! It is not worth the effort! The only reason I am giving them 2 stars instead of one if that the customer service has been good - they have trained their staff well - and I really like the one set of lights that arrived correctly & undamaged!

I recently ordered lighting fixtures from Canada Lighting Experts. The website clearly lists all prices in CAD. They sent me an invoice for $681 which was fine. When I got my credit card statement, the funds appeared as 681 USD which was converted to $911 CAD. I called the company and they gave me a flimsy excuse about having difficulties with the website, but did offer me a credit back for the difference.
I think the company is hoping that you don't check your credit card statement against your invoice so they can inflate the price.

I bought a Dimond Banded Captiva lamp from Canada Lighting Experts at the end of November, 2014. When it arrived, it was defective: a pile of washers and a large nut were exposed underneath the harp of the lamp. It was also not very good quality for the approx. $160 cost. The return drop down menu gave me only a replacement option for defective products. I wanted to return the lamp and get a refund so I checked 'did not like quality'. I was informed that I would have to pay for the return myself. Because of the ridiculous size of the box that the lamp was packed into, I found out that the delivery charge would have been $130 Cdn.! I cancelled the return (I would not have been reimbursed.)

I am now stuck with a lamp that I will never use because Canada Lighting Experts will not give the option of returning a defective item for a refund and will not reimburse the return cost. I also think that their time limit of 30 days is too short, especially during December when there are 3 fewer business days than usual. I am extremely unhappy with this shopping experience.
