I have ordered a bathroom vanity light. After one month of waiting, I have received a broken package. One of the 3 bulbs was missing and I am still fighting with Canada Lightning to have them send me another bulb. This is a lost of $300.
Terrible return communication- returned two lamps - paid $50 for shipping - and then never got my return. It's been over a month now and no response from the company when trying to reach out for an update. I'm now out $200. Don't trust this company.
UPDATE: I checked the order status of my refund on the company's website and they have mysteriously DENIED my refund, without attempting to let me know in any way shape or form. The items were returned in their original packaging, never installed, in brand new condition. There is absolutely no reason to deny my refund. Will never order from them again. Save your money; order from a reputable company with a transparent refund policy and an actual contact phone number. I feel like I've been conned out of my money by a bunch of crooks.
All good until you need to return an item. Customer service is awful. Do not use this American compamny.
I ordered 14 of these lights a little over 2 years ago. A few months ago 2 of these lights packed it in and could not be repaired. I called Canada Lighting and they told me to contact Kichler which I did. The representative at Kichler told me that this product has a 5 year warranty but they must be returned and replaced by the original retailer. I have tried to contact Canada Lighting by phone only to be on hold from 40 minutes to an hour. I have also left voice mail messages but no one from Canada Lighting has called back. If I had read these reviews prior to dealing with Canada Lighting I would have found another source. I have since had 4 more of these lights burn out and will be replacing them with a local retailer who offers a 5 year over the counter replacement. I was looking at Wayfarer who has a 5 year guarantee through a 3rd party but when I looked at the reviews for that company they were not much better than the reviews for Canada Lighting.
This is also an American Company and all prices are in US dollars.
BEWARE
I ordered 2 Exterior Lights Timarron on Aug. 28,2016 and installed them.
In July 2021 I had to take them down because they were totally rusted through and dripping rust when it rained. They were made of non-suitable material.
I offered the seller CANADA LIGHTING EXPERTS to return them, but there was no answer within 6 weeks.
Obviously they are not willing to take responsibility for the lousy product they sold - Customer Service = 0!
I cannot speak to the quality of the items on the website (although they did have good prices-- even with the exchange rate, and a huge selection) as I never received my order. I placed an order for a chandelier on May 22, and they processed my payment and sent me an email letting me know I would get an update when my item shipped. Quite a few weeks went by and I had not received my shipment email. I went back and looked up my order status and the expected ship date was extended from June 5 to June 25th (they never reached out to let me know there would be a delay, I had to find the information for myself). June 25th came and went and still no shipment notification so I checked my order status again. Another delay, this time until the end of July. I believe they processed my payment before checking to see if they actually stocked the light fixture I had ordered. At the time of ordering, there was no indication that the light fixture was on backorder. I cancelled my order-- if they cannot process a shipment in two months I doubt it ever would have happened. I am also still waiting for my refund (their policies page said they process refunds in about 24 hours, so that isn't accurate either).
It's a shame that I cannot give a better review for this company. I was really looking forward to hanging the chandelier in my dining room as it was quite unique and I haven't seen anything similar to it in other online retailers. It would have fared better if they had waited to charge me until they could ship the item -- like lots of other online retailers do to avoid this very problem.
This place is the worst. They claim that it is hassle free easy returns they pay all duties and taxes. If you have to return an item that came from St. Thomas Ontario they make you send it back to the Head office in California and make you pay all the shipping costs. WHY WOULD ANYONE want to do that.It is one thing if it came from California to return to California but it came from Ontario and then could not go back where it came from had to be sent to California. Why was it in St. Thomas. Worst place ever advertise what you actually do not what you do sometimes and don't just put it in small print at the bottom. Your website contains only positive information not all the facts unless you did deeper. I will caution anyone from dealing with this place.
Its a US site (prices USD). If you return something, they won't pay for shipping! Won't use them again!
I was quite concerned about purchasing from this company after reading a number of negative reviews however they had the right products, products not found in any BC markets. Within five days the products arrived and we are extremely pleased not only with the products but more importantly with the service we received. Will definately purchase from this company again very soon.
6 weeks later, no light and they keep providing tracking numbers that are all over the place a new location everyone is on the tracking number. Such a horrible company, the good reviews must be owners or fake!
I ordered three light fixtures from this website and the my order confirmation indicated that the availability of the items from the "warehouse" had yet to be confirmed. Despite this my credit card was charged on the date of order. Six days later I received an email confirming my order "cancellation" - I suppose that this was due to the item not being available in the warehouse. While my credit card was refunded, the change in exchange rate between the date of charge and the date of credit resulted in a $70 dollar difference - in favour of "Canadian" Lighting Experts. I have submitted a complaint to the company through their Help Desk. An email confirmation of my help request has been received indicating I should hear back within 24 hours. So, stay tuned and I will update my review based on the response and outcome.
Very dissappointed with the company: I placed an order on the 9th of december 2020. After 1 month of waiting and many phone calls later, I was asked to be more patient. After two months of waiting, they finally realized that my order was lost in transport. My order had been paid (+400 $CAD) on the very day my order was placed! When I finally received my order, the item received looked nothing like what we had ordered from the website (see pictures). After multiple emails and phone calls, not ever being able to speek with a manager, and not having the same information from one customer service representative to another, they finally told me that I would get paperwork for an eventual return from the manufacturer, around the 21first of March; to send the fixture back. By the time they receive it in the United States, my not-yet-received reimboursement will have been 4 months in process! We are in 2021; most on-line business' have taking example on Amazon and such: Place an order, pay for the order, receive the order, ALL IN ONE WEEK! I have been polite and too patient. This review is beeing written and I still have the unwanted merchandise in my home, and still NO REFUND! I cannot in good faith recommend this company. So many frustrations for such a would-be simple process...
I ordered 4 lights. Three are on delivery and expected to arrive in another week (this is over two weeks from ordering in-stock lights). The fourth light is "missing". The only thing good about this is that I can get the lights I wanted - not sure when they will ever arrive. If you are ordering from them be patient, but follow up quickly so that issues don't arise. I was too trusting. Lightless in Calgary and still waiting over three weeks later.
I ordered two lights 6 weeks ago and have not received my product or a tracking number or any indication of if/ when I will receive it. Just terrible.
I have requested an address/packing slip so I may return the incorrect item. I ordered an item in November 2019. Received the wrong item January 9 2021. I have emailed several times, including photos of both my invoice of original order and the box which indicates its contents on the sides.
Yesterday I received an email indicating that since I have not responded my case is closed.
I have tried calling- only to receive an answering service instructing me to email.
Any advice?
Also - "overall rating". I left blank as in zero stars. I was unable to submit return unless I indicated "a star". I would not recommend this company.
I should have known better when "Canada" Lighting charged US $ at checkout. But the "ceiling fan" was what I wanted and the price good, so I ordered 2. Installed the first light and reached for the fan blades - no blades. Called help line - very friendly, we'll fix this right away. A week later, no shipping notice. Phoned back. Call quality so bad I couldn't understand most of what was said, but gist was that the fan blades for the advertised "ceiling fan" were extra! So what I bought was a light fixture that had attachments for fan blades if I wanted to spend more US$ to get them. Thank you to Alex McArdle who understood my extreme frustration and helped with not a happy resolution, but at least a resolution. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. I don't know how they're still in business.
Ordered on November 28th, 2020 and still didn't receive it in Mid December so called in and was told I would get an email on the status and of course I didn't get an email. Was patient and called again on January 7th, 2021 and was pretty much told the same thing and they claim it was a drop shipment so they don't handle the shipment and would receive an email within 24-48hrs. Well it's Jan 12th now and no email AGAIN. What is this customer service it is non existent and the tracking info links are broken and show nothing. I got scammed out of money for something that I will probably never receive and if it was on the way they make absolutely NO EFFORT TO FIND OUT WHERE MY SHIPMENT IS AND WHY IT IS TAKING SO LONG. Wish I just ordered the chandelier off HomeDepot and paid more. At least they wouldn't just screw me over.
Do not order from them, They have a professional site but they are probably a third party drop shipper and if there is any problem with your order, they will keep your money and continue to give you the run around. I have tried over 30 days on a daily basis to return the item, which I did with UPS, but they had given an address that the vendor had since moved. So I had to pay again to get it back to me, while they told me they would search for the correct address. This is beyond frustrating and I have no choice now to contact my credit card company to charge back these scammers. Terrible. They are also not a Canadian company. You hear rosters and kids crying in the background when their customer service line picks up. They transfer you around to various departments that just go to voicemail!
Bought 5 lights from them. All 5 I was supposed to get within the week. 2 weeks later, I got 2 that are missing half the light and the other 3 are backorder 2 months. No money is given on late deliveries, even though it states that. The money is advertised in CDN and charged USD.
Honestly, the site tricks you, looks professional and Canadian, but it is a US company that so far has been very amateur. I've been on hold for 1hr 30 mins trying to talk to someone to sort out my order... Too BAD as this company has the potential to provide Canadians with more lighting options, but their ability to actually get that done in an honest and timely matter is HORRIBLE. If a product is not available for 2 months, just state that. I went online to see what the backorder light says for delivery now, and it is still telling customers 3-day delivery.
I have order a set of lamps for my kitchen, my surprise came when I just received one, after call and complain Several times because nobody give me a reason of my second lamp, they Finally created a replacement but guess what, still waiting for a shipping information more than 2 weeks now, definitely not the best experience.
