The overall reputation of the company reflects significant dissatisfaction among customers, primarily due to inadequate customer service and a lack of accountability. Many reviews highlight issues such as harsh refund policies, unresponsive support, and problems with fraudulent listings, leading to frustrations over lost funds and unresolved complaints. While some customers appreciate the variety of accommodations offered, the overwhelming sentiment indicates a lack of trust in the company's commitment to customer satisfaction. To improve its reputation, the company must enhance its customer service responsiveness and take greater responsibility for the listings it promotes.

Terrible service.
Lack of useful customer service with long wait times.
They don't refund for service not rendered!
Booking.com is the worst company to use. They f'd up a trip that I had already paid for and didn't even wish to fix it. Never again
This site has been nothing but a pain in my $#*!, just gives you the run around. Absolutely awful do not use! Worst ever!
Horrible experience. Will never use booking.com again. Website uses deceptive tactics to lure travelers.
The hotel has not charge me for the room but biking.com did. My wife has COVID and have to cancel. The hotel said no charges but they still charge me for the room.
There was a mix-up on the dates and the hotel promised a refund. However, the hotel had already taken the entire amount from my credit card. They told me to contact booking.com. Booking.com told me to go back to the hotel (in Hong Kong!) After returning back to Sweden, I called them. They said they couldn't do anything, although I had proof of the promise the hotel made. They cay they can help with refunds, but when it comes down to actually doing it, they fell short. I have always used booking.com to book hotels, but no more!
If there was a 0 stars you guys are it when I show up to the hotel it wax disgusting looked like it never been cleaned and it is taking 7 to 14 days to receive my refund this is bull$#*! they take our the money in a day but can't return it fast
Booked a hotel for my wife in Gumbet the bleu nuit, on arrival the hotel was closed for renovations, no prior warning given and booking.com make it very difficult to claim any compensation, in short they are not interested. Terrible customer service, use at your peril.
Wanted to write about booking.com charging cleaning fees and dont handle the cleaning nor transferring the fees to property owner but... I see so many complaints about booking.com that I think its useless writing a negative review as everyone already knows its the worst company:-)
I had scheduled 2 different stays at motels near Gettysburg, then Life happened and I had to cancel both- A MONTH IN ADVANCE. Yet, when the time came they still took my money. When I call the motels, they wont do anything because I booked through a 3rd party (bookings.com), when I call bookings.com they want me to show THEM proof that I cancelled. It should all be in their system, even in my account the fact that I had scheduled or cancelled anything no longer shows at all.
NEVER again will I book through them, NOR would I ever recommend them to anyone- unless you want to lose your money.
Please please DO NOT use booking.com for any booking related services. Their customer service is pathetic and they do not assist in resolving the issues at all. I have been going back and forth with booking for a month to get a refund from the airlines and they have been abysmal at best. If you want to lose money, then feel free to use their dirty services. Trust me, this review will help in warning you about their fraud practices.
I booked the Balmoral suite at Casa Fresa Broughty Ferry for three nights last week, through booking.com. The night before I got an email to say hope you enjoy your break in the Lomond suite! I contacted the owners to be told that when you book through booking.com, if they havent updated their calendar and the room is already booked they just put you in a different suite without asking you! Our break was ruined. I specifically asked for Balmoral because of the huge jacuzzi bath, and large room with tv at the end of the bed. Instead we were put in a basement suite with no windows and only a shower, which I would NEVER have booked. This is only one of several bad experiences I have had with booking.com, and will never use them again.
Booking.com is the worst company ever. Their customer service is an absolute joke. I booked a three-night stay at a hotel in Venice but had to change the reservation due to some unforeseen circumstances.
I spent over two hours on the phone with Booking.com representatives, but they were completely unhelpful. They told me that they couldn't change the reservation dates because the hotel is a partner of Booking.com, so I had to contact the hotel directly.
However, when I reached out to the hotel, they informed me that they couldn't change the reservation dates because I had booked through Booking.com. So, neither Booking.com nor the hotel would take responsibility, and I am left in the middle with no resolution in sight.
Booking.com's lack of customer service is appalling. I am extremely disappointed and angry that they can't help me resolve this simple issue. It's ridiculous that changing dates has turned into such a hassle, and because of their incompetence, I may end up losing my money.
I strongly advise against using Booking.com for anything. They are useless, and their customer service is a complete waste of time.
Booking.com have no support They double booked and want me to pay relocation of $2850 for 4 nights booking was for $400
I am a hotel owner and have been dealing with tis company for about 10 years. Dealing with the customer care people is always a headache and often nightmare where you sit on hold for a long period of time only to get no resolution to the issue you have called in about. Depending on who you get on the phone you will get differing answers to your question yet never with a resolution. We are supposed to have an account manager to help us in situations. This has also proven to be futile. The breaking point for us was when I tried getting in contact with our account manager by calling, leaving VM, emailing, calling booking.com customer care to report that I have not gotten a response at all from my multiple attempts to contact. They supposedly sent an urgent message to escalate my requests. 48 hours later still nothing so I called again. Got the same response that they would send an urgent message for the AM to get in touch with me asap. Its been 6 weeks and still have not heard back. Bring us to today with another issue that seems to clearly be a Booking. Com error and we are expected to pay (literally for an error with a reservation that we had zero control over). Same story, several emails back and forth, several phone calls and still no resolution. Although we will lose revenue by cancelling our account with Booking.com I can not in good conscience continue to work with operation. I am done!
I booked 2 rooms for May 6th at Days inn in $#*!son tn
We canceled in May 4th. On May 7th Days inn took my money anyways. Spoke to Days inn and Booking.com neither are willing to reimburse. Horrible
Made a reservation for two rooms. I never received my confirmation code. Since I had no code I could not contact them to make any changes. I sent multiple emails and no response. I gave up and called the hotel. They were able to make my changes. I will never use this website again.
I booked lodging via booking.com and fell for a vehicle rental booking immediately following the lodging. My flight was delayed due to weather in addition to my layover which forced the two legs of the trip to be almost 4 hrs delayed. Their system is so inefficient that I wasn't able to get a hold of anyone to change my car rental pick up time. By the time I arrived to Orlando, the car rental place was closed and booking.com basically said "too bad. Your reservation's been cancelled due to no show.". This infuriated me let alone stranded me at the airport. My wife was only able to have them refund the insurance but I still ended up paying for a car rental that was NOT issued to me. This is my first and LAST time using booking.com. They will stick it to you and make it difficult for you to cancel, change, or get a refund on your reservation. Buyer beware!
Do not ever use this company. They will rip you off. Had to cancel my reservation. The company keeps saying they contact the hotel. The hotel sends them the ok to waive fees. Booking.com says they never receive it. I even have the letter from the hotel saying they will agree to cancel and waive fees. Booking.com will not accept MY copy.
Airline said my booked flight was morning from Vancouver to Edmonton but booking.com showed was 7:45 pm. I eventually have to buy a new flight ticket back to Edmonton.
Answer: In my case they took my payment information and paid the hotel where I was going to be staying. Only to find out that the hotel was out of business and I had to prove that it was charged to my account. They did not find me a replacement hotel to stay in for the same price. Nor did they care that I was left without a place to stay. So beware before you purchase.
Answer: Don't waste time with booking.com. They have horrible customer service and will make every attempt to cheat you. Simply report the problem to your credit card company to get your refund.
Answer: Run. Run away. This company and the company used to insure their bookings are scams.
Answer: booking.com has horrible customer service. Don't use them.
Answer: You pay a non refundable price on line. When you check into your hotel, it's billed to your Bookings.com reservation plus incidentals (local calls, parking fees, resort fees, dining, bar fees, Europe charges local or city tax, spa fees...) the hotel will ask for a card as a hold for these fees. Use bookings.com, find the hotel you wish to stay in (get all info and contact them directly via website and price match) the Marriott in Rome had a room for $80.00 less on the Marriott website than these, so called MONEY SAVING SITES.
Answer: Can you please explain why you think Booking.com is not trustworthy please?
Answer: It depends on the hotel some don't charge until you arrive at hotel more will charge your card straight away check your booking it should tell you there
Answer: Trevago is hooked into Booking.com don't make a mistake and let trevago send you to booking.com go to Hotel.com which is more professional. I had to go to American Express customer serviced to complain and they gave a dead line for explanation. They had no explanation for crappy service and had to repay me.
Answer: You will need to pay taxes in addition to the quoted price. Call the motel and they will tell you about the taxes. A few places still don't charge exttra taxes e.g. Harris Ranch in California.
Answer: You can't. That's the whole idea. You provide a service, and your customers get to give their review of your place and your services.
