The overall reputation of the company reflects significant dissatisfaction among customers, primarily due to inadequate customer service and a lack of accountability. Many reviews highlight issues such as harsh refund policies, unresponsive support, and problems with fraudulent listings, leading to frustrations over lost funds and unresolved complaints. While some customers appreciate the variety of accommodations offered, the overwhelming sentiment indicates a lack of trust in the company's commitment to customer satisfaction. To improve its reputation, the company must enhance its customer service responsiveness and take greater responsibility for the listings it promotes.

They are a fraudulent company if i could give no stars i would never again! Customer service is horrible they giev you the run around and they have no management
Absolutely Disastrous! Booking through Booking.com was a rip-off. Their prices were outrageously inflated compared to other websites, making me feel scammed and cheated. The worst part? Trying to reach their so-called "customer service" was an exercise in futility! They seemed indifferent to my issues and provided zero help. It's infuriating to pay a premium and receive such abysmal service. I'll never use Booking.com again, and I urge you to avoid this money-grabbing nightmare. Save yourself the headache and explore better alternatives with fairer prices and actual customer support!
Booked accommodation more than 6 months in advance and after confirming and arriving the accommodation was not available. It was 5pm on a Friday and I needed 6 nights accommodation last minute. Could not find a number for booking.com so I booked alternate accommodation and contacted them afterwards. I requested and was told I would receive the $500 difference in price for the accommodation but then after multiple phone calls and emails requesting different things each time and telling me I had not provided the required information, I received a $250 refund as a 'good will gesture'. Putting me out of pocket $250 that I had not budgeted for or could afford.
We booked a car through booking.com and the night we arrived our flight got 2 hours delayed. We landed on Olbia Airport and directly went to the car rental where our car was booked and paid online 500 Euro for 4 days. Unfortunately it was closed and there was no way we could contact them. We phoned booking.com and spoke to them many times overnight they promised us that you will be able to take your car from the car rental company called LOCAUTO. We spent the whole night at the airport and in the morning when they opened the car rental service they told us that as your flight was delayed we have rented your car to someone else and we cannot accommodate you any more your booking is cancelled and we will not refund you a penny.
NEVER BOOK A CAR RENTAL SERVICE THROUGH BOOKING.COM IN CASE YOU ARE LATE OR YOUR FLIGHT IS DELAYED OR CANCELLED. THEY WONT ASSIST YOU AND WONT REFUND YOU AT ALL. PLUS THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE FOR CAR RENTAL SERVICE IS THE WORST EVER. THEY CANT EVEN SPEAK ENGLISH PROPERLY.
After two confirmation emails from Booking.com, one of which was the day prior to our check-in, an 11 hour drive, and pre-payment of our room, we were informed the hotel did not have a reservation, they were full, and could do nothing. Trying to get Booking.com customer service on the phone was difficult, and we left multiple messages for customer service. The chat feature said I'd hear something within 24 hours. Meanwhile, I was out $1500 and we needed to pay for another room that night. A week later, we finally received notice that our reservation had been cancelled by the property, and we would be receiving a refund. They were apologetic on behalf of the property and offered to pay any overages, which was good. But they were not easy to reach in the moments I needed them.
Pictures are worth a 1000 words, that is the case with booking.com. They offer the best to you online everything looks great until, you make your desiaton, then it the bottom of the barrel. I have never stayed in a worse place than what they booked for my family. Sorry is what they are.
We booked 4 star accommodations at best 1/2 star.
No cleaning service
No beds made
No clean towels
NO ONE WANTS TO BOOK A PLACE LIKE THAT ON VACATION!
SO WHY BOOKING. COM?
Why?
Thanks for nothing.
But wasn't paid for... I knew my friends paid for it I saw them. I never complain about no place but I had to drive back home because of booking com couldn't find it... bad business
I don't need to pass the concerns. I need to add a review on booking website. So everyone can see the real truth about one hotel that is scamming people and that Booking is a part of this scheme as well!
Booking started using some so called Third Parties Partners So The Hotels will never give you a refund or You will never be able to write a really true review on Booking website.
They are hiding so many discriminative schemes and cases!
Stay away from Booking. You may loose your money for the entire trip or a stay at a hotel.
Booking started Partnering with Credit Card Processors from China. And if you want to refund your money because the hotel that looks good on booking is actually a shot hole. You will never be able to get a refund!
Shame on you Booking. STOP SCAMMING PEOPLE!
I booked online through booking.com and when we got to our hotel booking.com never gave them our virtual payment! Not just us but about 6 other people at the hotel were standing in line waiting for approval! Would not accept my virtual pmt so my boyfriend just went ahead and paid it yet again even though I paid thru booking.com! $223.70 I have called numerous times to try and get the credit card refunded but they act like they don't know what's going on.basicly they got paid twice and donot want to give a refund! DONOT USE booking.com! It's happened to so many people!
Me and my family travelled to Batumi / georgia we booked a room in Anorita hotel through booking.com website before one month as we trusted before but unfortunately once we reached the hotel yesterday 16/7/2023, hotel staff informed me that they are overbooked and they can not accommodate us it was like shocked we were very tired and not expected this at all very disappointed from booking.com will never trust again will never depend on it for our all next reservation will never recommend it to any family or friend very bad experience
I reserved a reservation at Super 8 on July 3 2023. Had a horrible and nightmare at that motel and booked it through Book.com. Book.com customers service been telling me to wait to see if I can get my money back. They wouldn't give my money back knowing that I had discussing stay at that motel. I advice everyone to call some where else. They said why I didn't take pictures I said you think I was thinking of taking pictures all I want is to go as fast as I can. I give Book.com an F for failer to help there customers. Also Super 8 and Book.com are not what I expected.
DO NOT USE. LEFT ME STRANDED IN AUSTRALIA.
January 2023 - 1 day before I was due to fly home with my 2 companions from Brisbane Australia back to Birmingham UK they cancelled my flights with no reason and stated that they could do nothing else for me. I spent hours on the phone to them in Australia (resulting in a huge phone bill) with no other option than to get a $5,000 loan to buy EMERGENCY flights back to the UK. I have since been in contact with the airline that SUPPOSEDLY cancelled my flights home and they have confirmed that the flight i should have been on went ahead. Booking.com clearly cancelled our flights for what seems like no reason and to this date (July 2023) still wont give me any useful information. They keep batting me about from pillar to post with no answers as to why they cancelled me off that flight. Booking.com are denying any fault in this and are refusing to give me a refund or anything to help. DO NOT USE. Please please please anyone who is booking flights with them please be careful! They left 3 brits stranded in Australia with no way home.
I tried to book with Booking.com for a hotel in Sydney's Blue Mountains. When I hit the "pay" button, i was told that my transaction was declined. When I checked my bank account the money had been charged to me twice! I cannot get a room at the hotel and when I tried to contact them directly they informed me the room was triple the price that Booking.com were claiming it to be. They also said they have nothing but trouble with Booking.com. Stay away fro these scammers. Booking.com are dishonest and they try to rob your bank accounts!
Never use booking.com, call the hotel and book or use hotel website. Overbooking by booking.com left me with no room in dangerous place. I call them 6 times they did not do anything. They did not return my money too.
Trying to make changes to reservation was almost impossible. Hade to enter information three times with other agents. Most who spoke very poor English.
Misleading discount claims. They stated that they would take over 60 francs of the total price of the hotel stay. I even sent them the screenshot but they just gave a standard answer that the cost of the stay was correct.
Booking does not take responsibility and does not refund money, in the event that the owners of the venue did not provide accommodation that was ordered and paid for
Watch out on discounts offered by booking.com
E.g., Whether offered a discount with deadline f.I.15 July, please be aware that the code exported on the 14th at 23,59
Non critical but unfair (or misleading) practice
I wish I could give zero stars. I have used this booking site before without incident. However, I had recently booked a two night stay for my husband and son 6 hours away from home. We had called booking.com to change the arrival and departure dates by one day. We received a confirmation email it was ok and called the hotel personally to ensure there was no issues. Unfortunately, they day they arrived, they was no room available for them. I spent 2 hours on the phone with Booking.com while my husband tried to speak to the hotel. The representative I spoke to kept putting me on hold and was reading from a script. He kept repeating himself. He told me there was a glitch in their system and it was never updated with the hotel. He said we could cancel free of charge then because they could not accommodate us. I paid almost $600 for two nights. I called myself and booked a 2 night stay at a different hotel. This morning I checked my bank account and the Sleep Inn took money out. Worst customer service ever! I will never use.
I recently booked at a hotel for few days. When I arrived at the place I realized that I paid 25% more that the actual hotel charges. I initially booked to stay for 14 days but because of an emergency we had to check out 2 days early. When I checked out I was told to call booking and let them know i left early and they will refund you. I called booking and informed them. Few days later I get an email saying that I stayed for the entire period and never left early and wished me good luck at the next stay. This service is horrible and will never use it again and I will make sure everyone i know knows about it.
Answer: In my case they took my payment information and paid the hotel where I was going to be staying. Only to find out that the hotel was out of business and I had to prove that it was charged to my account. They did not find me a replacement hotel to stay in for the same price. Nor did they care that I was left without a place to stay. So beware before you purchase.
Answer: Don't waste time with booking.com. They have horrible customer service and will make every attempt to cheat you. Simply report the problem to your credit card company to get your refund.
Answer: Run. Run away. This company and the company used to insure their bookings are scams.
Answer: booking.com has horrible customer service. Don't use them.
Answer: You pay a non refundable price on line. When you check into your hotel, it's billed to your Bookings.com reservation plus incidentals (local calls, parking fees, resort fees, dining, bar fees, Europe charges local or city tax, spa fees...) the hotel will ask for a card as a hold for these fees. Use bookings.com, find the hotel you wish to stay in (get all info and contact them directly via website and price match) the Marriott in Rome had a room for $80.00 less on the Marriott website than these, so called MONEY SAVING SITES.
Answer: Can you please explain why you think Booking.com is not trustworthy please?
Answer: It depends on the hotel some don't charge until you arrive at hotel more will charge your card straight away check your booking it should tell you there
Answer: Trevago is hooked into Booking.com don't make a mistake and let trevago send you to booking.com go to Hotel.com which is more professional. I had to go to American Express customer serviced to complain and they gave a dead line for explanation. They had no explanation for crappy service and had to repay me.
Answer: You will need to pay taxes in addition to the quoted price. Call the motel and they will tell you about the taxes. A few places still don't charge exttra taxes e.g. Harris Ranch in California.
Answer: You can't. That's the whole idea. You provide a service, and your customers get to give their review of your place and your services.
