The overall reputation of the company reflects significant dissatisfaction among customers, primarily due to inadequate customer service and a lack of accountability. Many reviews highlight issues such as harsh refund policies, unresponsive support, and problems with fraudulent listings, leading to frustrations over lost funds and unresolved complaints. While some customers appreciate the variety of accommodations offered, the overwhelming sentiment indicates a lack of trust in the company's commitment to customer satisfaction. To improve its reputation, the company must enhance its customer service responsiveness and take greater responsibility for the listings it promotes.

I made several bookings in Egypt. Booking.com shows them highly rated. The property was a camel barn with literal camel feces inside on the stairs to rooms.
We refused to stay at the property. Booking.com refuse to refund our payments for 4 rooms based on the 'property' owner saying we did not show up. Th image shown is the actual 'hotel' they booked us in.
I recently booked 2 rooms at Best Western Southlands in Oak Forest, Illinois. One room was described as a "Traditional King with a Sofa Bed" the other was a "Traditional King". The on-line Booking.com pictured a king bed and a sofa bed in the room.
When we checked in, we were told there were no sofa beds available at this hotel. The clerk told us that Booking.com refuses to change the photo and the room description on their on-line site. We called Booking.com to try to sort the out the problem, but they could not help us in anyway. "This happens," was what we were told! As there was a concert at a nearby amphitheater that night no other rooms were available. The hotel was fully booked and had no fold-out beds to offer. We ended up pushing two chairs together and the hotel gave us extra pillows and bedding. I spent the night trying to sleep on the chairs. Never again, Booking.com.
This is an update to my previous review! It's been two months and still waiting on my refund! Booked through Priceline which is a sister company to Booking.com. I canceled my reservation within the allotted time because I found a better deal. They still charged me almost $300. Even after they sent me my cancellation confirmation. After booking through Priceline you can no longer go through them you have to go through Booking.com and they both are working together to use and take customers money! There are no reps in USA but work out of Singapore which make things even more impossible and frustrating! I have been getting the run around for MONTHS! I've spoken with so many reps and supervisors and they get frustrated and hang up in your face and don't call back! I've sent ALL PROOF of when and what time I canceled ( the email they sent me) 2 months ago! Still nothing but the run around! I'm literally on hold now with the 3rd rep today. Please don't even waste your time with either company! If you still decide to book with them after seeing all the horrible reviews…. Can't blame no one but yourself! I'm so mad at myself right now!
Doesnt warrant 1 star - your prices are massively deceptive, I am done using your site, and cannot believe anything you show. Find some other sucker to deceive you crooks.
Booked our flight, Hotel & taxi through Booking.com, however Booking.com has sent a Taxi to the airport at 12:00 midday instead of 00:30. Booking.com booked our flight and knows arrival time yet they despite four calls decided to disown the problem and refused to refund. They can only be labelled as Booking.Cheat.
We had booked Paradise hotel at Myrtle beach SC w breakfast & kitchenette, we had paid around $400 per night end of July, when we got there we were kind of shocked how filthy the place was, stuff not friendly at all, the pool looked like was not cleaned for the entire summer, while next door's pool was clear blue, we also find out that the room avg price was $150, where we had paid $400 per night, in the next morning we were denied free breakfast according to front desk, breakfast was available only for those who had booked directly thru the hotel, even-though breakfast was published on booking.com site. For the entire stay it smelled like lots of folks around here were weed lovers, you open the balcony at night time and that all you smell, I could probably write a book about this experience, it was a big disappointment for us, we tried to call help desk, they're in Philippine, we felt we were scammed!
I bought a flight ticket through them and the airline cancelled. Airline refunded my ticket but they hold my money they didn't transfer my the money. 100 phone calls and 2 months yet nothing. Avoid this website by all means.
I booked one of the Las Vegas hotel via booking.com back in 12/2022. We have two adult kids with us total 4 people. On booking.com they showed two queen beds in one room, our email confirmation also showed we reserved two queen beds. During Christmas we showed up in the hotel, hotel front desk was saying. That is one king size bed, not two queen beds, but do come with sofa pull out. I have two adult kids how are they going to use one sofa pull out bed? The hotels in Las Vegas front desk was saying, you guys need to call back booking.com to talk to their representative, we did, the representative was saying we are sorry this is a holiday season. We don't know what else we can do. This is a scam.! We went back to another front desk of this Las Vegas hotel, somehow, this front desk was able, to help us check into two queen bed, yeah booking.com you suck why bother sent confirmation email to your customer if you can't even keep up with your room size and how many bad customer reserved? Will never use booking.com again. And, I will make sure I post that on every single social media.
Booked a car in italy for 16 days and when i went their they did not give me the car saying that they need my international license physically despite that i have UAE driving license which i am using where ever i go and a soft copy of my international license. There was a huge demand on rented cars and they simply give me all the challenges to not give me the car. Booking team was of no help at all. Even did not help me to refund the amount. It seems they are only putting a trap for travelers. No respect and unfair. Simply do not use booking.com they are not entirely as they seem to be.
Every worker is either unskilled, unqualified, and/or unauthorized to help you for various issues. They always send you to a different department and make you wait on hold for long periods of time. Sometimes they disconnect the call and you have to start the process all over again. Once you are finally sent to the "right" department to deal with you issue, all they do is put in a complaints form for you that may or may not be processed within 72 hrs. They do not provided immediate help if flights or bookings are cancelled or delayed. They force you to reach out for refunds with the companies that they booked for you.

Arrived to hotel only to find out that Booking.com had not advised them of my reservation. The manager said they could not honor the price I had reserved for, so I ended up paying $350 for a room, instead of $250. I was lucky that they did have a room! The manager told me that it wasn't the first time this happened; that Booking.com are "not the best". I am furious!
Please save yourself the frustration of dealing with these clowns.I booked a car through them had an issue spent 50 minutes with customer service clown and all he did was repeat I am going to do my best to assist you.I finally said your best isn't working can I speak to a supervisor which he replied that's not there policy. Stay away from them
I cancelled a reservation within an hour of making it, called booking dot com, connected them with the hotel desk who agreed to wave the cancellation fee and booking don com did NOTHING.
It appears I'm left with the +$300 bill.

They cancelled my hotel reservation in Athens for no apparent reason. In the process of rebooking, I had to perform the date selection several times due to poor booking software. After booking a non-refundable $2,350 room reservation for 4 days, i quickly received in their confirmation email and realized it was the wrong week booked. I immediately call customer service and asked to switch to one week ahead. Despite it only being 10 minutes since I made the payment, they refused and expected me to eat the $2,350, even though it was their original cancellation that resulted in this simple error. I will never use them again!
I reserved a room through Booking.com at Extended Stay America on 6/12/2023 and prepaid the reservation. Huge mistake. When I arrived, the hotel was overbooked, so I booked another hotel with Booking.com. I've been trying unsuccessfully for over a month to get a refund for the oversold booking, and actually succeeded in getting to a person on a couple of occasions, and was told they would get back to me within 24 hours. This has been an incredibly fruatrating experience. Stay away from Booking.com.
If you are going to Los Cabos, Mexico, do not stay at Hampton Inn suites by Hilton. I had such a bad experiences in that hotel including SCAM! The employees that had access to my room, opened up my bags, I am very sure about that. If you don't tip good the housekeepers, they don't provide all the items you need in your room, they are very unprofessionals. On Friday night, I received a call from a person that identified himself as Juan Martinez, he said he was a security at that hotel. He called me on Whatsapp. He said he was conducting an investigation about a car in that hotel parking lot that had guns and drugs inside. He wanted me to cooperate. He wanted me to ask to all his questions. He knew all about me, even my room number at this hotel. He asked whomelse was in the room with me. He wanted to talk and have my daughters phone numbers as well. He said he will knock at our door, and we must open only for him. I started to panic. Passed the phone to one of my daughters and called the receptionist at the hotel. The receptionist informed that there isn't anything like that going on at the hotel. That Juan, the criminal, was telling my daughter that he wanted to video call with all of us. I told her to hang up. We went down to the lobby and talk to the receptionist and security of the hotel. They didn't want to change our room. The receptionist said that his manager in the morning will come and talk to me and my daughters and help us. Nobody ever come to us to say anything, as a matter of fact, the employees acted like nothing ever happened there. I believe my personal information was spread around. Be very careful if you are going to stay in that hotel.
Pure scam! Do not book from them! I booked a packaged through them for my son birthday trip to Disney. Paid everything in full. When I got to the hotel, I was told they only paid for one night. Tried to contact them to no avail. Paid $822.17 out of pocket, thinking that they will refund me back. Which is the right thing to do. They refused to refund me the money. I've sent them all the proof you can ask for. I've run out option. Shame on you! What if I I didn't have that amount on me. My son and I wouldve being stranded. I had to call my back in report it. Hopefully the back can refund me the money. I've never had this issue with Expedia! Don't ever book with them. Run!
We had a booking last weekend. We reached at the hotel at around 10PM and they said booking was not there. When I called booking.com customer care, they handled very badly and sending wrong info to me. We were there at midnight in a new city without accomodations. The hotel was cancelled and they mentioned after 1 hr of customer service calls with some incompetent poor communicator that they cannot book the hotels. This is a scam and I don't recommend this as they put my physical safety at risk plus the mental issues caused due to that.
I booked an appartment with them in line and cancelled for a emergency booking.com gig not care to help
Booking.com has big problems!
Is the start of the end?
Maybe they has no money to pay the hosts after they take the money from guests!
If the hosts crash(being unpaid by Booking),what happen's with the hollidays already booked?
Booking decide to don't pay their "partners" for more than 1 month (June,July) because...they work at the system In the middle of summer vacations! The problem is already Booking delay the payments to the hosts!
How many guests will have no money to pay Booking bills? How many will close? How many vacancies will be lost? Only because Booking decide like that!
If you dare and ask for your wrights on the forums...Booking erase your messages, because are not convenient! You have only to accept Booking decissions and...shut up!
Something is unclear and Booking don't respect the contracts with the hosts! Who is responsible for this casino in the middle of summer? Why Booking don't answer at hosts legitime questions? What happens there?
Answer: In my case they took my payment information and paid the hotel where I was going to be staying. Only to find out that the hotel was out of business and I had to prove that it was charged to my account. They did not find me a replacement hotel to stay in for the same price. Nor did they care that I was left without a place to stay. So beware before you purchase.
Answer: Don't waste time with booking.com. They have horrible customer service and will make every attempt to cheat you. Simply report the problem to your credit card company to get your refund.
Answer: Run. Run away. This company and the company used to insure their bookings are scams.
Answer: booking.com has horrible customer service. Don't use them.
Answer: You pay a non refundable price on line. When you check into your hotel, it's billed to your Bookings.com reservation plus incidentals (local calls, parking fees, resort fees, dining, bar fees, Europe charges local or city tax, spa fees...) the hotel will ask for a card as a hold for these fees. Use bookings.com, find the hotel you wish to stay in (get all info and contact them directly via website and price match) the Marriott in Rome had a room for $80.00 less on the Marriott website than these, so called MONEY SAVING SITES.
Answer: Can you please explain why you think Booking.com is not trustworthy please?
Answer: It depends on the hotel some don't charge until you arrive at hotel more will charge your card straight away check your booking it should tell you there
Answer: Trevago is hooked into Booking.com don't make a mistake and let trevago send you to booking.com go to Hotel.com which is more professional. I had to go to American Express customer serviced to complain and they gave a dead line for explanation. They had no explanation for crappy service and had to repay me.
Answer: You will need to pay taxes in addition to the quoted price. Call the motel and they will tell you about the taxes. A few places still don't charge exttra taxes e.g. Harris Ranch in California.
Answer: You can't. That's the whole idea. You provide a service, and your customers get to give their review of your place and your services.
