The overall reputation of the company reflects significant dissatisfaction among customers, primarily due to inadequate customer service and a lack of accountability. Many reviews highlight issues such as harsh refund policies, unresponsive support, and problems with fraudulent listings, leading to frustrations over lost funds and unresolved complaints. While some customers appreciate the variety of accommodations offered, the overwhelming sentiment indicates a lack of trust in the company's commitment to customer satisfaction. To improve its reputation, the company must enhance its customer service responsiveness and take greater responsibility for the listings it promotes.

Fantastic, as Hotel and Restaurant CRITIC i find this place perfect in all the aspect. Welcome, Directions, Service, Breakfast, Hospitality, and moore.
I travel the World and never in my life i could find all super good. GIUSEPPE MIGLIACCIO& MARGARET RICHTERS
I booked at 2pm today a two room, two night stay through booking.com. Cost was 815 Euro. I found out at 11 pm that there will be a train and airport strike the day I was to depart from Florence, Italy. When I tried to cancel, booking.com tried to cancel with the Hotel but was unable. This has forced me to either remain stranded or loose my 815 Euro! Shame on you booking.com! You will never see another reservation from me again!
The site showed a room that held 7 and there were 6 of us. The room was very expensive and was a traditional double queen. It was the U.S. And not India so we were confused. My wife slept on the floor. Maybe they thought the tub was a sleeping spot...
Selected a room in Myrtle Beach. Icon showed "Book for $2603". We got billed $3373. 95. Contacted them the same day where they blamed the hotel and the hotel stated the rate difference was 100% booking.com. I'll never use their site again. We even had a photo of the page showing the rate. They're response... "that's not enough proof".
I have booked a house on Booking.com for vacation in Italy. It was located above Sorrento. Before that I stayed for a few days in Rome with my friends. One day before going to that house Booking.com tried to call me (couldn't hear my pone out in the city) and emailed me. I saw the email in the evening. My booking for the next day (placed more than 2 months back) was cancelled with absolutely no explanation. The offered alternative house not very far. Same cost for me. Well I've seen that house when I was booking. It was cheaper and significantly lower standard. On top of that the road to that place was so narrow, you can spread your hands and touch the walls of the houses on both sides. The house I booked was located on a normally wide road (I checked that while looking for a place). The car I rented got damaged and I had to pay EUR475 because of that. No response from Booking.com on that and no compensation of course.
Since the booking was cancelled by the owner of the house and he organized the new one I tried to call him, but the number on the site was not working. Sent him a message and got an answer with phone numbers for the new place. The strange thing was that he said "our numbers are...", meaning to me that it is the same owner. Looks like they are offering the great looking house on Booking.com and if they have someone who wants to stay longer or pay more, they just cancel the booking of anyone who booked it for short time or cheaper on sites like Booking.com.
After my booking was cancelled I was not able to leave review and rating for the place that cancelled my booking neither for the alternative place.
I don't feel safe booking on that website anymore. My stay at Sorrento got 5 times more expensive because of the damaged car not covered by insurance. I booked twice with them. The first one was for our stay in Rome. That one was great.
I booked an apartment in Nego lodge Accra Ghana through booking.com only to find out that the apartment had been given to someone else and I was given a 10x10 ft room. Upon enquiry I was informed that I could use the common kitchen and lounge. I feel very frustrated and discriminated against. I will never recommend the booking site to anyone.
Horrible experience. They are probably the only reservation mediator who do not have 1800 number for the customer service and most importantly they do not send you the booking confirmation and itenary details unless you sign up and open an account with them. No other company forces you to sign-up. We made a hotel reservation in dubai. They didn't send the email with confirmation (I checked Spam & Trash folders and it never came in) and didn't charge the credit card at booking time. As a result, we could not find the reservation hence made another booking for the same dates through a different provider. Interestingly they sent an email notifying "No Show" after the stay date passed and charged $274. Why email after No-Show but not when you Book? Unfair business practice. Credit card dispute didn't solve the matter. They are in Europe hence a law suit in U.S. Court can't be filed against them. You can't talk to them as there is no phone access so email was the only resort and they will not budge.
Disgusted with Bed minus breakfast '32 on Zandkloof' in Durbanville. Bath is disconnected- have to use bucket to fill; wifi is capped; sickening smell of sour milk in room; no privacy; owners dogs bark relentlessly; no samples of shampoo or soap in the shower. Advertisement is dishonest. Disgusted
Worst experience ever booking.com double booked to turned to no room really worse experience ever
Booked through Booking.com and I never book unless it's refundable, so I booked as it specifically states refundable up to 7 days prior to arrival... I had to cancel and did so 3 weeks in advance and they got me for $110. I am a single mom and was ripped off... never again will I book with that hotel or booking.com!
I made reservation thru this website and decided to cancel because of the horrible location of the hotel. It never gave explanation of the location (prostitution area). To all this there was a charge of $90
Dollar but it says free cancellation? We'll never got my $90 back. NEVER AGAIN
I booked a hotel through booking.com as it was listed at a great price and I'm on a budget. I did the book now, pay later option. My flight was delayed and I got to my hotel around 11:00. The office was locked, there was no answer at the local number and calls I made to booking.com (and I tried more than one number) went unanswered or through so many switch overs my call was lost. Long story short, I was left in a city I hadn't been in before (Phoenix) with no place to stay at 11:00 at night. Booking.com then charged me a 50 dollar "cancellation" fee after I had called, emailed and tried in vain to contact the hotel I had reserved the room with. I left a negative review on their site and was told the couldn't post my review because I hadn't actually stayed at the hotel! I'll never use booking.com again. The next time I think I see a good deal there, I'll just light a 50 dollar bill on fire and sleep in my car!
Booking.com is doing a fraud with their business policy and worst customer service as an USA based company.
I have an international hotel booking for Medinah, SA with booking.com, the Booking number: *******. It was done about 4-5 weeks prior to travel and everything was assured by Booking.com. But on the date of arrival, my hotel booking was cancelled just 2 hours before my arrival and while I was in flight, left me stranded with my family with no where to go in a highly peaked season. Booking.com was saying they sent me an email, but I was in fligth at that time. According to Booking.com, hotel marked the credite card as invalid, whereas I have booked other international hotels without any issue for same trip. This is ridiculous. If the internatinal hotels are trying to do the transaction, why did we rely on booking.com, why not calling them directly?
Also, after I back to US, I tried to call the Booking.com customer service, first time the lady hung up when I asked to talk to manager. Then second time the manager just say sorry, but did nothing to compensate my misery and booking the high priced hotel on that night.
I will absolutely NOT recommend Booking.com and will try my best to warn everyone about their worst customer service. Please try its competetors for better service and not stand in foreign soil with nightmare.
Hotels and B and B's deliberately over rated probably for bigger share of commission. It is actually far far cheaper using a household name like travel lodge as there standards are extremely high because of the obvious reason of reputation. Used booking dot com. They are just a money making machine. Not interested in your holiday or if u had a pleasant stay or not. Also a site that tells lies. I have the proof. I hope this review will be helpful to at least one person.
Booked thru booking.com
Would not help with getting money back from hotel with roaches and not cleaned for unused days
Keeped saying we need picture of roaches
Ever tried to get a roach to pose
Finally got the pics and showed hotel manager and got back 75 % of room cost but not with the help of booking.com
Stick with Expedia
They won't help you if there are any issues with your booking- they are very intent on not taking any ownership and will only offer a $20 credit as a "courtesy." When you ask for someone above a "supervisor," they will tell you there is no one above them and they also don't have a way to reach their corporate offices. Lying to customers is unethical! Worst service ever- consumers beware!
Be very careful when booking with Booking.com, i was charged more than what was agreed when booked a hotel on line, then when i rang Booking.com to complain they came out with a load of rubbish and just didn't want to know. Wont be using them again.
Not trustworthy! Only trust written text with them. Service by phone not reliable!
In November 2015 we booked a 1 week holiday in Waikiki, Hawaii in what they described as "Waikiki Grand One Bedroom Condo". When we arrived we found it was just a studio/hotel room which did not even have a table and chairs and not even a wash basin or power point in the bathroom. A far cry from a One bedroom condo! Furthermore the advert stated:
-the condo was 46m when in fact it was only 28m
-that toiletries were supplied when they weren't
-that the condo had a city/garden view when all you could see was the leaves and branches of a huge tree hard up against the window.
-that it slept 2-4 but the other 2 had to sleep on an uncomfortable, worn-out sofa bed.
The apartment was significantly sub-standard.
When we brought all this to the attention of booking com they simply forwarded our complaint to the apartment advertiser and took no responsibility for their part.
The advertiser of the condo naturally refused the refund request and the advert still remains with the same deceitful, misleading description.
Seriously both the advertiser of the property and booking.com should be held accountable and brought to justice.
Like others here we wont be using them again.
They deceived me on the cancellation policy. On the room information website it said you could cancel without penalty, but when I got the confirmation email, it said there was no refund upon cancellation.
Just call the hotel directly to avoid this. Booking.com scammed me.
Answer: In my case they took my payment information and paid the hotel where I was going to be staying. Only to find out that the hotel was out of business and I had to prove that it was charged to my account. They did not find me a replacement hotel to stay in for the same price. Nor did they care that I was left without a place to stay. So beware before you purchase.
Answer: Don't waste time with booking.com. They have horrible customer service and will make every attempt to cheat you. Simply report the problem to your credit card company to get your refund.
Answer: Run. Run away. This company and the company used to insure their bookings are scams.
Answer: booking.com has horrible customer service. Don't use them.
Answer: You pay a non refundable price on line. When you check into your hotel, it's billed to your Bookings.com reservation plus incidentals (local calls, parking fees, resort fees, dining, bar fees, Europe charges local or city tax, spa fees...) the hotel will ask for a card as a hold for these fees. Use bookings.com, find the hotel you wish to stay in (get all info and contact them directly via website and price match) the Marriott in Rome had a room for $80.00 less on the Marriott website than these, so called MONEY SAVING SITES.
Answer: Can you please explain why you think Booking.com is not trustworthy please?
Answer: It depends on the hotel some don't charge until you arrive at hotel more will charge your card straight away check your booking it should tell you there
Answer: Trevago is hooked into Booking.com don't make a mistake and let trevago send you to booking.com go to Hotel.com which is more professional. I had to go to American Express customer serviced to complain and they gave a dead line for explanation. They had no explanation for crappy service and had to repay me.
Answer: You will need to pay taxes in addition to the quoted price. Call the motel and they will tell you about the taxes. A few places still don't charge exttra taxes e.g. Harris Ranch in California.
Answer: You can't. That's the whole idea. You provide a service, and your customers get to give their review of your place and your services.
