The overall reputation of the company reflects significant dissatisfaction among customers, primarily due to inadequate customer service and a lack of accountability. Many reviews highlight issues such as harsh refund policies, unresponsive support, and problems with fraudulent listings, leading to frustrations over lost funds and unresolved complaints. While some customers appreciate the variety of accommodations offered, the overwhelming sentiment indicates a lack of trust in the company's commitment to customer satisfaction. To improve its reputation, the company must enhance its customer service responsiveness and take greater responsibility for the listings it promotes.

I have been dealing with them more than 10 years but this time they shows big discount i. E 109 usd each room before booking but once i have finalised booking discount disappeared and unfortunately it was non refundable room so they deducted full amount and not agree to give discount while provided screenshots of discount message, infact i spent more than an hour to talk with them on phone
They just told me screenshot mesg is not showing any confirmation number
It's stupid reason how it's possible to show them confirmation number before booking it's always showing after making payment and I clearly told them discount was showing before finalising and after that discount disappeared
Cut it short now there competitor give us more cheaper rates now so booking.com start making us fool while showing discount etc
So I bought flight tickets through Booking.com. The airline changed the flights (and as per their policy, you have 7 days to either cancel the flight or change to a different flight for same price or pay the difference). The only requirement is that the changes are not accepted but rather disputed. Booking.com automatically accepts the changes on your behalf in the hopes that you will not be able to enjoy the flight OR get a refund. This is clearly mafia tactics to scam people out of money. Spoke to the airline and they said that had Booking.com not accepted the changes, they'd gladly refunded me. But since Booking.com automatically accepted the changes, they can not issue a refund. Avoid Booking.com at all cost.
The website is great but the customer service is really horrible. I sent 3 emails and I only got forwarded email replies.
I used Booking.com multiple times over the years when traveling. Usually, all went well. The service helped me find the hotel, helped the hotel find me, and collected fees in between. Everyone is happy. But one bad apple eventually came along. We reserved the place called Kanakis Apartments, in Crete, Greece. The hotel turned out to be a SCAM. When we got there, the hotel manager said that we must pay an extra fee for an "upgrade" to get the room we reserved in the first place. We could not go along with this nonsense and left. That same evening I wrote to Booking.com describing what happened and asked for help recovering our payment. That is when we learned that Booking.com would not stand by you if anything went wrong. They said that they could not do anything, even though they had brokered this reservation. They were protecting the hotel. We ended up losing the entire payment amount (paid to Booking.com).
While the service is convenient, do not count on them stepping in if you get into trouble. They will protect hotels instead of customers.
I booked a room with ocean front for a specific date and selected a room with ocean front but afterwards I thought for a change in date and the room automatically got updated to a room without ocean front which I mistakenly booked.
Very bad experience doing the booking from booking.com
Was headed to Dallas and booked a rental car. To make a long story short. Flight got delayed needed to make changes. Good luck with this company.
First of all, the first day of my trip was completely ruined because of Thrifty car rental which I used through booking.com. It is Uk based company even though their website uses. Com domain which is so misleading and they so not tell that anywhere viewer can easily find. That means if you pay money for thus company, the credit company charges you foreign transaction fee approximately 3-5% of the price they charge. In addition to that, they charge you hidden additional fee at the counter. So even if they say $250, it will be $600 in total at the end. And staff working at the counter is extremely rude and do not even try to explain and choose the highest option. The real counter at miami airport was closed and combined with other "cheap" rental car company (cheap doesn't mean you don't have to pay more but the service quality is cheap) and there was a long line which resulted in 2.5ht delay. They do not change rent start time even though it was their fault. And Lastly, the car they gave me was not the car I initially ordered and the engine light was on. I had to come back to the place for replacement. Definitely loss of mental peace and precious time. And of course money! Never ever use that.
THRIFTY IS A SCAM. DO NOT USE IT. AND BOOKING.COM DID NOTHING TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM.
I have purchased a ticket for myself, my wife and two kids through Booking.com. Right after I purchased, I found my wife's name in ticket was the old last name, it has the old last name not the new marriage last name. I called booking.com. They said, the only way to communicate with Turkish airline to get the refund. I contacted the Turkish airline with TK *******, they advised me to purchase another ticket with same date and time with the new name and they will provide me with the refund approval code. I purchased it new ticket ( Ticket number 2352 4593 *******)and I got the approval code for refund made by Turkish airline, and they informed me to provide that code to booking.com and they will be able to refund it to the same credit card been used to purchase the ticket. Then I called booking.com customer service on 12/27/2021@ 09:20 talked to Mikhil. He stated, he will forward it to the support department, and they should be able to help me. Then I received the email as following from *******@support.etraveli.com. Then I received email stating that, Turkish airline need to cancel the ticket first to be able to process the refund. Contacted Turkish Airline, their respond is, the booking.com need to contact the Turkish Airline's sales office and provide them with the refund approval code, and they will be able to process the refund. Forwarded this message to booking.com, their respond was the same to contact Turkish Airline.
This site is by far the worst travel booking site EVER. You can't call customer service because they don't have a phone number, either local or national. You have to go through their website and it takes forever. Once you get their, you can only choose from their menu.
This site is meant to take your money and then see you never. I booked a hotel through them only to find out after a I needed to cancel, that there was a no cancellation policy. NO WHERE was I told that when i made the booking.
When you book a hotel and Booking.com tells you your credit card wont be charged until you present it at the hotel... that may not be the case. Read the fine print if the fine print is even there at all. If you Press confirm you'll never see again where it says "your credit card WON'T BE CHARGED until you present it at the hotel"... what you get is an email saying you will be subject to a cancellation fee. I won't call booking.com a scam because i've had good hotels from them. But as one reviewer stated it might be best to just use them to find hotels and call the hotel directly.
I booked a hotel in larnaca and i need to cancel. Booking. Com not give me my money back. Whan i asked for my money they said that they already gave me. That not true.
On route to my destination, Miland in Amanzimtoti, I was just informed that my confirmed booking was cancelled as Booking.com provided me with a wrong quoted price. According to Hellen from Miland other customers were affected in a similar fashion. Indeed an example of poor customer service. Booking.com did not offer me altsernative accommodation.
- Terrible customer service and business practice.
- Impossible to get in touch with them, could not find phone number or do live chat as noted on their "contact us" section.
- I cancelled a domestic ticket (in India) bought on Booking.Com which the airline refunded but Booking.com did not refund me or provide any confirmation. When I called them (after 11 days) of not receiving any confirmation, they told me I had to contact Booking.Com in order for the cancellation to be processed. I had confirmation from the airline about being refunded.
- When I asked customer rep. When I could expect to receive my refund, he told me he could not provide any timeline. I asked if there is a standard time for Booking.com customers to expect for refunds. He said it is right now longer than "usual time". I asked what is the "usual time" he was vague and said 2-8 weeks but not guaranteed. I was shocked that it was that long and also could not get any specific answer. I asked if I could speak with his supervisor who perhaps could provide a customer more specific answer. He said a supervisor was not currently available and would call me in 24 hours.
- Basically, the above experience with Booking.Com comes across as unethical (had to navigate hard to contact them, felt I would not be refunded had I not taken the time to call them after cancelling online, and vague answer regarding when I can be refunded).
My reservation details had the following request: NEED FIRST FLOOR FOR HANDICAPPED SENIORS.
This was NOT included by Booking.com. The hotel explained that my reservation was not booked direct. It was booked by a THIRD PARTY. I did NOT get first floor for handicap. NONE were available.
Avoid at all costs - they take your info, then you have to provide all over again to whomever you book with.
Don't use this company. They charge a separate booking fee that they don't tell you about and won't let you cancel your reservation 24 hours in advance. They are a scam. Customer service is awful.
The site is not helpful at all, I called and cancelled my reservation due to contacting corona virus and not being able to get health visa for Bahamas, I contacted the hotel directly after calling booking.com and they suggest that I do that directly, the manger at the hotel suggest that I get credit voucher for next year but booking.com is not giving any voucher and they referring me to the hotel directly, They are playing games just to take the money, do not use booking.com for any reservation, the site is just there to take your money
Be very careful and not to use the site at all
I don't usually do reviews, but booking. Com were so bad I have to try and warn others. Books a b and b in Edinburgh. Got there and the woman said she had cancelled with booking. Com a few days earlier. Booking. Com later confirmed this, but didn't bother to inform me and my wife so we was left stranded. Couldn't book anywhere last minute because in was bank Holiday weekend and nice weather. I will not be using booking. Com again if I can help it.
You would think Booking.com would be more accommodating during COVID times but it's quite the opposite. I booked an international trip that costed over 1K USD and they REFUSED to refund or even accept a cancellation fee even though the country I'm traveling to has implemented new traveling regulations that would play a huge negative impact on my trip. Booking.com had asked me to contact the airline directly after waiting 2 HOURS for them to even pick up. I proceeded to call my airline and waited ANOTHER 2 HOURS for my airline to tell me there's nothing I can personally do but instead, I would need Booking.com to call on my behalf to cancel if I wanted a refund. That made me EXTREMELY disappointed cause I wasted four hours TOTAL of waiting time to only be asked to call back Booking.com? So I DID, and waited another 2 HOURS for booking.com to argue with me saying that it wouldn't be possible for them to call on my behalf. After 20minutes of arguing and asking to speak to their manager, they agreed to call the airline but I would need to wait to hear back from them. The biggest $#*!in lie I've ever heard. It's been a week... NEVER CALLED ME BACK. In conclusion, Booking.com is a $#*!in scam that takes your money and lie in every possible way to keep it.
The advertise free cancellation on bookings 48 hours before. Have had to cancel due to Covid, we are 5 days before and they have taken £150 off me for the cancellation, they say it is not them but the hotel! Then don't advertise as Free Cancellation then! Poor service, do not use this company. I had booked many times through them, but the proof of a company is when you have a problem! This company is not interested, they charge on Free cancellations, it is rubbish!
Answer: In my case they took my payment information and paid the hotel where I was going to be staying. Only to find out that the hotel was out of business and I had to prove that it was charged to my account. They did not find me a replacement hotel to stay in for the same price. Nor did they care that I was left without a place to stay. So beware before you purchase.
Answer: Don't waste time with booking.com. They have horrible customer service and will make every attempt to cheat you. Simply report the problem to your credit card company to get your refund.
Answer: Run. Run away. This company and the company used to insure their bookings are scams.
Answer: booking.com has horrible customer service. Don't use them.
Answer: You pay a non refundable price on line. When you check into your hotel, it's billed to your Bookings.com reservation plus incidentals (local calls, parking fees, resort fees, dining, bar fees, Europe charges local or city tax, spa fees...) the hotel will ask for a card as a hold for these fees. Use bookings.com, find the hotel you wish to stay in (get all info and contact them directly via website and price match) the Marriott in Rome had a room for $80.00 less on the Marriott website than these, so called MONEY SAVING SITES.
Answer: Can you please explain why you think Booking.com is not trustworthy please?
Answer: It depends on the hotel some don't charge until you arrive at hotel more will charge your card straight away check your booking it should tell you there
Answer: Trevago is hooked into Booking.com don't make a mistake and let trevago send you to booking.com go to Hotel.com which is more professional. I had to go to American Express customer serviced to complain and they gave a dead line for explanation. They had no explanation for crappy service and had to repay me.
Answer: You will need to pay taxes in addition to the quoted price. Call the motel and they will tell you about the taxes. A few places still don't charge exttra taxes e.g. Harris Ranch in California.
Answer: You can't. That's the whole idea. You provide a service, and your customers get to give their review of your place and your services.
