Waiting for the order for 3 weeks, I tracked the parcel and it appeared they put wrong address for the delivery and it stuck in some point. In stead of apology and immediate refund, I was told to write them every week to know if it returned. Very disappointed.
I ordered for almost 100 euros scholar books that I never received after 2 months. My son has to follow the courses without any support until we receive the new order done to Amazon! First, they proposed to refund but the next day, they informed me that the refund is not possible!

All I wanted was a tracking number.
Three email threads, dozens of emails, and they wouldn't provide it. I think it became an office game for them to find out new ways to reply to anything, including the weather, but not answer my one, simple question.
I told them to please never write me again, but then when the package finally did arrive (late), they send an email praising their service and... get this... they then provided the tracking number for the book that had arrived the day before!
Whenever I see on the news a plane crash or a bus going over a cliff, I won't feel bad about it. I'll just imagine these guys in the plane or bus, and I'll feel just fine!
I've made three orders with Book Depository in recent months. The first order arrived in reasonable time. The second and third ones never came. The customer service said they would have to wait for the return of the undelivered packages (5-10 weeks) before resend the books to me.
Book Depository has an effective way of creating disgruntled customers.
Ordered some books and an advent calendar for my son for Christmas. Without any word from them the order was canceled and money put back into the account. There excuse was it was declined by the credit card. I emailed them and told them there is no card payment and it was PayPal and comes straight from the bank account, even sent them proof of the transaction but they were having none of it. Anyway it worked out they had got the pricing wrong on one item, when looking at there website again the item was double the cost we paid, instead of honouring the price, they sneakly cancelled the transaction and tried to get us to order again with the new prices... I would not use this company ever again or recommend anyone use them
I have ordered a book and understand the delay in deliveries due to the pandemic but at least provide a tracking ID to know my order is sure on the way! Moreover, due to uncertainty, I requested to cancel the order and the team tells me that I cannot. They ask me to keep on checking with local post office if there is any order under my name! WOW! Please improve your system! If you cannot provide tracking number, how are even YOU sure that a customer's parcel is on the right track? I am extremely upset. I will never order again from here and would definitely ask people to check out other reliable stores. Thank you!
The items are shipped fairly quickly and arrive quite soon after purchasing! Everything I've received from there has been in great shape when I receive it and the prices are extremely low in comparison to book shops that don't even deliver. I haven't had to contact customer service once, so I can't speak on that (It seems to be a common factor of the websites low review) but everything is simple and understandable on the website. Although all of my orders have arrived separately, I don't see a problem with this as it still manages to arrive quickly! I would highly recommend it!
Summary: Quick delivery, Affordable, Books arrive intact and high quality with no damage, website is easy to use and understand.
The prices are reasonable, the delivery is free, the books tend to arrive in less than a month in perfect condition. The only downside is inability to track your order, but if you're a patient person, it's not a big issue.
I've ordered quite a few books from here during the past months. They always arrive fairly promptly, and in secure packaging. There are some more expensive books on there, but they usually have cheaper editions/copies, which I appreciate. And, no postage cost! So far this is one of the best online stores I have bought from.
Only half my order has been received. I have contacted customer service twice and been told each time to wait 5-10 business days for the rest of my books which were, supposedly, dispatched all on the same day. As I have been waiting for the books for almost two months already I think it is pretty rude to ask me to wait another two weeks. As others have said, I wish I had read the reviews before I ordered. I will stick with Chapters in future much more reliable even if I do have to pay a little extra.
I ordered a book over 3 weeks ago, still have not received it, but was charged.
I received an email over a week later stating that it was shipped. No tracking nor shipping information given.
Have been told that if I dont live in the U.S.A., it will take longer. I live in New York.

I ordered a book in mid June and it stated that it supposedly would arrive in 8-10 business days but I waited for a month still nothing so I emailed them asking for solutions. After confirming with my local post office that I got nothing pending under my name, they refunded me the full amount which I received 3 business days or so later.
Funny thing is a week after that my book finally arrived (took a month and a half, guess it's understandable under our current living situation), so I emailed them asking how to return the amount they refunded me. They told me to keep the book and the refund, a response I did not expect but much appreciated. So I'll definitely shop again!
I placed a pre-order for a book that was due to published on the 21st of July they took the money for the pre-order on the 4th of July. The publication date came and went and the title was no longer in stock on the website and I'd heard nothing so contacted customer services I was completely messed around and told they weren't sure whether it had been published or not then a day later I was told by two advisers they had the book and were processing my order. A week went by and still nothing, no book or dispatch email I contacted again they said it was still in process, today I asked for the status again not to receive a response then I get an email with a refund saying they've cancelled it without me asking for one. They never had it in the first place! No apology or explanation I was lied to, messed around and left empty handed I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone and will never use them again. Disgusting pack of liars who take money from people, lie and deceive and leave you empty handed. This book was a present for someone, one that they will now not receive because of this terrible company.
Customer service the poorest I have ever seen. I can see why you have so many negative reviews. Too bad I didn't check the reviews first, but since I was going through Amazon, I thought it was OK.
I ordered a book and cancelled it immediately, within minutes, following all the steps. They completely ignored the cancellation. I sent many messages and told them not to send the book. Totally ignored all. They continued the process of sending the book. Received the book two to three weeks later. Amazon requested you to send a return postage label, which was completely ignored. This is wrong and I want my money back. I should not pay return postage because you were notified within minutes of the order to cancel. Should not even be a one rating..
Be prepared to wait indefinitely with zero information on delivery date. They will never say that a book is not in stock
No contact, waiting for my books for almost a month now with no feedback on them whatsoever. I contacted them by mail, facebook and their build-in contact form on their site and got no replies (beside that one assuring me that they never forgot about me and are going to contact me soon which they sent 5 or 6 days ago. Non-existent costumer service. Once you pay for the books you're on your own, babe.
Waiting for this book for such along time. Finally it arrived last week. To be honest, the book is life changing and my life is changing day by day. I started to love myself even more. I'm appreacting and being grateful for my life. Few months ago I was having depression and anxiety. Because I think alot. But after reading this book about law of vibration. What we think, we attract. All this while I was thinking so negatively and I faced alot of problems. But for the past few days I could see changes in me. I felt better about myself. If you wanna change your life. Go and get this book. Truly inspiring and I swear you will never regret it at all.
Received a book with a different cover to what was advertised. This was very disappointing as I had specifically bought that book rather than a cheaper version in order to get a nicer cover. Contacted customer service but they asked me to pay for return postage. I complained but the company did not want to take any responsibility. I will not buy any books from this company again.
I ordered a book on June 4th and was told it would arrive between June 16th and June 23rd (an already really long time to wait). I reached out on July 1 to inquire as to its status as I had still not received the book (or even a tracking number) and was told to wait 5-7 business days past June 23rd. I reached back out on July 6th after still not having received the book or tracking information and was just told "sorry for the delay." I should have looked at the reviews which are horrible and not ordered anything from this company!
Unfortunately, I bought the book, received information about the date of the shipment (after some time the system appeared that the shipment was sent) and when, after a week of delay in relation to the planned date of receipt of the shipment, I sent a message asking what was going on, I received a reply, that there is a problem with getting my order from suppliers and that it has not yet been shipped (despite the fact that the system had "Shipped" on my order). I am not so dissatisfied with the fact that the bookstore failed to process my order, because such things happen. I am extremely disappointed that if I did not send a question about the reason for the delay in delivery, I would probably not know until today that it was not sent at all.
Answer: Honestly, no idea, seems like their staff are very untrustworthy I had problems with them before I even ordered something, because they would keep changing what they told me about stock on a book, I wouldnt trust these liars with valuable information like your personal card (have ordered it in the end, but never arrived, they lied about the stock apparently and its gonna be a much longer wait, regretting buying it from here)
Answer: I always pay with a credit card and I never had any issue whatsoever.
Answer: Honestly, no idea. I also have them but I fill them again (I don't put my credit card info because I don't want to, and the address it's just filled in because Google remembers it).
