Are you kidding me? You bastards! I'm going to the police! I want the money back, crooks! Tomorrow is May 24! Where are my prides? You are crooks! I believed in you! I want the tax invoice and proof that you sent me the products! Don't talk! Does anyone read my messages?! I do not think! You are disrespectful! How dare you send me messages with advertisements asking me to buy if you haven't delivered my products yet. If you deliver them, they were already here! You took your money and it won't matter! The Romanian Post told me that you have the obligation to ensure the safety of the products sent. Provide a guarantee! You not! You pretend to be good people but you are monsters! I want the money back on the card! I no longer accept this joke with messages for idiots! You have an obligation to compensate me! I want to forget I've ever dealt with you! I ordered on April 6th and 7th at 11pm claiming to have sent me the products. Tomorrow is May 24th. Ready! I want a tax bill! I'm going to the police and the tax office anyway. I will evade tax evasion and fraud! Ready! My money or go to jail!
Long story short, I'd ordered some books. Eventually they came, but one of them had literally ruined pages making it impossible for me to fix it. Not to mention that they came two months after i'd placed my order.
Ordered some books from book depository back in February since they were the only providers of certain books for my son. They rely on general post - so I was prepared to wait for my books - but after a month I asked them for an update. After generic replies - I asked them for proof that they actually mailed the books. At this point I was told that the books had just been sent "again" - and I am yet to receive anything after 2 months of waiting. I think if you are not in the UK you are definitely supposed to avoid this company.
I placed an order in early November for the Demon Slayer series for my child. Promised to ship by 12/9. Excited that we would have the books by Christmas. Didn't get them by Christmas. I constantly contacted customer service and they would tell me to check delivery times on the website, and nothing more. The delivery times said 5-10 business days for my area, but never mentioned when they would receive stock, didn't say why orders haven't been shipped, nothing. Didn't say what was going on. They eventually canceled my order on 3/3, gave me my money back, and relisted the series at a higher dollar amount. GFYS. What a $#*! business model.
I ordered a copy of Mark Lanegan's autobiography "Sing Backwards and Weep" Feburary 23rd, the day after he passed away. When I attempted to order the book said "available" and I saw that the shipping time was pretty long but didn't think anything of it (around 2 weeks.) I've gone and checked on it's status a couple of times since I ordered it, and every time it still said it was "processing." I noticed that the book went on sale in the meantime. Yesterday I went and checked and the book was still "processing" almost 2 weeks later. I sent customer support a message, and they replied claiming that they are out of stock and their supplier has not sent them their order yet. They claimed they do not know when it will be sent. Here is the kicker, the book is still ON SALE and AVAILABLE on their website.
It took very long for my order to arrive. When it did it was open and the item was gone! The postal person was astonished by the cheap, flimsy packaging.
I have contacted this organization several times now and they are playing all sorts of games. 4 Emails later, STILL NO RESOLUTION!
STAY AWAY FROM BOOK DEPOSITORY
On Nov 29th I purchased a much sought after box set from The Book Depository. It was a gift for my daughter for Christmas. They did make me fully aware that it would not arrive in time for Christmas and I was okay with that. I gave her a photo of the box set with a "coming soon" written on it and she was anxiously awaiting it's arrival since. Unfortunately I received an email out of the blue on Jan 27th (2 months after placing the order) that they would now not be able to fulfill my order an would be getting a refund. Now I have a very disappointed kid who was looking forward to getting her gift. If you don't have the inventory, don't sell it and gets peoples hopes up. I will never be ordering from them again.

I finally got that book I'd been looking for. They find specialized materials I hadn't gotten at FCE in Mexico or Spain.
I ordered Dear Self on 7 August 2021 and I have still not received my item.
I have emailed the company only to get the same answer - it has been dispatched and I must check with my neighbours and post office.
If you cannot hold to your worldwide delivery in your stated times, then do not sell to other countries.
I have asked for a refund and still await my refund - as usual quick to take money but not quick to refund or find out more information.
Recenly eventually received two air fryer cookbooks which, on inspection, were published through Amazon (not mentioned on the website). The writing was amateurish, recipes not fully explained and set out poorly with no illustrations. At a cost of $49 they were just not worth the money. Book Depository did offer to refund the cost if I returned the books at my own expense but with the current covid epidemic I will not bother. I am very disappointed with the standard of books now being sold sight unseen since Amazon purchased the Book Depisitory. Buyer beware!
My Book Depository order confirmation BDM**************. The order is made 2+ months ago, I never received the books, the refund is not processed - the company keeps saying that I need to wait, and if they get the books back I will get the refund. Dead end. I will never use this store again.
I ordered my books just before Christmas 2021. Currently mid Jan 2022 and no sight of my books but money very well gone! I got in touch with customer service and as previous reviews mentioned, they asked me to wait till some other day and check my "local post office, neighbours..." When I got in touch again with them, I got the same response. I said to please read the trail of emails and either reimburse me the money or resend me the order. I got no response.
Next time Amazon...
My experience with this company is extremely disappointing! Please do not order any books from this company! On December 25th, the status of my order from 5 weeks ago showed "Shipment returned to shipper". When I contacted the customer service, the agent named Rachelle informed me that she would order a replacement copy which would be shipped in approximately 3 weeks. This would be satisfactory enough. However today, I received another email from them saying They're sorry to let me know they are unable to fulfill my order of the item, and have issued a refund. Very poor customer service! They are totally SCAM! I am also suspicious of their 5 star ratings on trustpilot.com as most of them appear to be fake.
I have bought quite a few books from there and I have no complaints about the quality of the products. However, getting the books delivered is an awful experience. Usually, they do not provide any shipping details to the courier except for country (and sometimes name of the city, if they are feeling generous), so my order stays in the shipments distribution center and goes back because courier has neither delivery address, nor my contact information.
Sometimes, they send me an email to correct my shipping address (which was provided with shipping details anyway) on behalf of the courier. Anyway, it takes multiple tries because sometimes my reply just gets ignored / missed / lost / whatever and I have to send the same thing again a week or so later. Sometimes I get the books through regular post, but I am not sure how they decide which method of delivery to use (does not appear to be determined by size or weight of the item though).

We ordered two books, the package arrived with only one book, when I reached out, they said the package had arrived and would not help further, I responded twice, clarifying an item was missing, and they sent me the same response. The book we did receive came damaged because they put it into a to small package.
Most awful service. Books ordered in June and they never arrived. Feedback from the business lacks solutions.
The seller never bothered to help me out with my lost in transit package, unforunatly iwill file an ato zclaim

I preordered a book since july and it came out on september 30th. I have been waiting for it to ship but on the website it said it was out of stock. I emailed them and they said they are having troubles with the stock so I waited some more, the book came back on stock twice, like anyone could place an order but it was more expensive this time so i emailed them asking for a copy since now they have it, but their answer was that it's not available and they are trying to get me a copy. They kept asking if I wanted to cancel my order as if they were hoping I do so. Please do not order from them. We do not need to support such scams!
Answer: Honestly, no idea, seems like their staff are very untrustworthy I had problems with them before I even ordered something, because they would keep changing what they told me about stock on a book, I wouldnt trust these liars with valuable information like your personal card (have ordered it in the end, but never arrived, they lied about the stock apparently and its gonna be a much longer wait, regretting buying it from here)
Answer: I always pay with a credit card and I never had any issue whatsoever.
Answer: Honestly, no idea. I also have them but I fill them again (I don't put my credit card info because I don't want to, and the address it's just filled in because Google remembers it).
