I ordered a part for my engines from boats.net. After I recieved the part, the sent me the same part again and charge me twice. Called them on numerous occassions without any answer. After two weeks finally got through and after talking to 4 employees, finally tzlked to a manager. He said he did know how it happened and would take the part back, but I would have to pay a 30% restocking fee and the postge. He was rude and would not listen. Tried to contct the corporate office, no response. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY.

The absolute worst!
September 22, 2013

The absolute worst! Three weeks after ordering an item that was "in stock" I finally received a substitute item and they charged an extra $15 for a $45 part to my credit card without any explanation or authorization from me. Also overcharged on shipping. This was in February 2013. Now I get a letter in mail from them saying they were hacked and gave out everyones name/address/credit card and most importantly the CVC codes for cards of every customer that ordered fromt hem from Dec 2012 through July 2013. Probably an "inside job." They don't even deserve one star!

Ordered my parts 3 weeks ago and they still haven't even shipped. There is no way to find out when I will actually receive my parts. Just simple basic maintenance. Spark plugs, oil filter, fuel pump, fuel filter common parts that any parts supplier should have in stock. They had none of it in stock. They are financing their operation with our money. At this point I'll be surprised if I ever get my parts. They suck, do business with someone else, anyone else but Boats.net.

I ordered parts for a mercury outboard. Its been 4 weeks and still I have no parts in hand. Just called them again and they are still waiting on 1 part from the factor, which, was supposed to have been shipped 10 days ago.

Never again! I am getting tired of on-line shopping. I can go to a local dealer and get parts in 2 or3 days and not pay much more than on-line. The convenience of on-line is not worth the frustration.

I ordered a water pump for $41.00 and some other parts for a total of $75.00 and some change. When i opened the package which appeared to be undamaged I saw the water pump repair kit box appeared to torn at the top and it was missing a critical gasket made for that kit. I have used this same kit in the past and that gasket must be used with the kit, it is made special for the kit. I contacted boats.net through their online agent but did not receive a response. I called on the phone and was transferred to a parts technician who finally after almost 15 minutes picked up the phone. I explained what I found and that there was a piece missing out of the kit. I was told that part should have been in the box. I assured him it was not. He also told me that that part is not available separately from the kit. He put me on hold to ask his supervisor if he should send out another kit. Came back and said I would need to send them pictures because they needed to verify the open box before they could do anything. Huh? Why not just take the gasket out of another kit and send that to me and problem solved? Nope. I lost it at that point and said I would get the missing part myself somewhere else and they had just lost a customer. I did finally get a response from the online agent, two days later. Their response was that the online agent spoke to a parts technician and the technician stated a gasket doesn't come with the kit. I will not use them again, not because a small part was missing but based on the incompetent responses I received while just trying to get what I paid for indicates to me that they are not going to rectify a problem without a major hassle if at all and I cannot trust them.

Nothing but ignorance!
August 29, 2013

Nothing but ignorance! I have ordered parts from this site as oriinal Honda parts. What I have received was far from original. On top of this they stole my money from a credit card! They have made 2 unautorized charges on top of the correct charge for the order. After many e-mails and chats with the company (and also with Partzilla and Outdoor Network, which are Boats.net´ s associated companies that processed my order), I turned the complaint to BBB and Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and they also could not resolve the money refund. We actually had to cancel our bank card! This Place is the Nr. 1 completely the worst U.S. based business I have ever met! Stay away from them...

Terrible
August 24, 2013

Terrible. Stay away. As other reviews state this site seems to be mostly a scam. My parts order has been listed as in stock and ready to ship for a week. I have called every day for a week to find out why it hasn't shipped. Every day I am told it will ship that day. On the third day at 8:05 AM I was told the supervisor 'Lloyd' would go into the warehouse, see that it was shipped and then call me. Of course that did not happen. I called back that same evening at 6 PM and was told 'Lloyd' was busy and would call me back. 'Lloyd' seems to work a long day! Of course he never called. They also told me they were having computer problems. Today I was told it had shipped and was given a Fedex tracking number. Of course that tracking number does not exist - and I have yet to receive an email confirmation that it shipped. I was also told they had received a 'lot of orders' the previous weekend and that was why it took so long to ship. So, every day there is an excuse for why it doesn't ship, and now they are telling me it has shipped but it hasn't. Since this seems like the same experience many, many others have reported I conclude this is boats.net standard operating procedure - to deceive about order status, and to lie when called about it. And the lies are the same ones reported by many, many others - 'part is on its way', 'computer or software problems', 'we had a large order to process', 'I'll personally ship it', etc etc. It's a shameful way to do business, and they are deliberately doing business this way.

I had a bad experience with boats.net. My first order did not provided the expected email confirmation like the site said would happen. I waited a couple days and reordered my items(with email confirmation this time) and called customer service. They stated there was only one order was placed. Of course they asked for thr first order number that i did not have because i lacked the confirmation number. They clear either did not listen or understand the problem. I gave up trying to explain my concern there were two orders in the system, they were clearly not interested in talking with me.
When BOTH shipments came to my door (two weeks later) I called again to explain the problem. The said just put an "r" at the end of the order and ship it back. My credit took two months to receive and then they charged me a restocking fee for a mistake their site caused.

Customer service was horrible with respect to order information and they clearly don't know how to navigate their own accounting software

I'll always order from Evinrude directly now, they are faster and has better service

Ordered 4 parts on July 10th, 2013. Website made no mention of backorder status. Received an e-mail saying it was backordered and would be shipped on July 16th. That's late but I'll live. Waited for a week with no updates, etc. On the 17th, it still said it would ship on the 16th. I called them and an uncaring lady said it was backordered until September. Yes, September. No e-mail, no phone call, no updates. I'm sitting around waiting for a part that will not arrive until after the entire season if ever.
Please, boycott this site. Just look at all the complaints. Awful company.

Wish i would have read the reviews first. I used a card i haven't used in months to make a purchase. Then coincidently someone used my card number to make purchases all over the world. I have noticed others with the same experience.
Do yourself a favor and stay away.

I ordered a $300 prop and was told it would ship the next day. It never did. I had to call them and found out it was backordered for another week. After reading these reviews, I doubt it will be shipped by Wednesday. If only I had read these reviews before I ordered it. WORST SERVICE EVER! DO NOT BUY!

Ordered parts from Boats.Net.com. Worse place I ever dealt with. They took over a month to supposedly get my part then told me twice it had shipped and it hadnt. I cancelled the order and was assured they would refund the amount to my Pay Pal accoutn. Never did. Countless e mails in which they DELIBERATELY jerk you around asking all kinds of idiotic questions that you have already answered at least FIVE TIMES and copies of the Pay Pal statement sent to them. THEY HAVE NO INTENTION OF REFUNDING YOUR MONEY. They are total crooks. Never again.
