When I worked as a marine mechanic and electrician before retiring, we obtained most of our parts from Boats.net. They offered the best prices and shipping is prompt, we always had great luck with them. On the rare occasion there was a mixup, customer service was quick to rectify the situation.
There is an extensive collection of hard to find parts, both aftermarket and OEM. Am very impressed with Boats.net and send boat owning friends to this site.
Along with parts, they sell general boating accessories as well. One stop shopping. Very pleased!
Found the parts I needed for my really old Honda engine on their informative website. Was a little suspicious since not all the parts where in stock. No need, I received it all here in Norway 10 days after the order was placed. Thank you!
Misleading descriptions on website; poor customer service. They sold spark plugs in "packs of 4". Only 1 arrived. They revised to ship the others for free.
Hello Josh,
Thank you for taking the time to reach out. We value your feedback and are sorry to hear that your last experience with Boats.net was not a 5-star experience. Unfortunately, the item you ordered had a typographical error in the product description. Thanks to your feedback, we are in the process of updating the website so that the product accurately describes the item for sale as ONE spark plug, and not a "4 pack." I just sent you a direct message. If you can provide me with your order number, I'd like to look take another look at the details of your order and how your issue was resolved.
Hope to hear from you again, Jeff.

Very satisfied with the site, after I ordered they notified me that the taxes of my country are high and if I want to continue with the my order.
My order come in 3 days to Croatia and I had to wait for my country clearance agency to ship it and that took 4 day. So in total 7 days + few days that we exchanged emails
Thanks for the review and the feedback, Gomy! I am so glad to hear we were able to get your parts to you in Croatia quickly, and that communication was good. Happy wrenching!

Do not use this company. I ordered parts for my boat and they said everything will ship on a Monday. I get an email that Monday and there are several parts that will now take another week. Why not tell me sooner? I have techs lined up to repair the boat. But the worst part was that the customer service guy was pathetic. No help at all and didn't really care that I had a problem. Wasn't even willing to make a phone call to find out where the parts are. I will never use Boats.net again!
Hi Doug,
Thank you for reaching out to provide some valuable feedback. The issue with apathetic customer service is inexcusable and will be addressed. I am very sorry that you had a sub-par customer care experience. Your issue has been turned over to a supervisor who will be reaching out to you ASAP.
I also would like to apologize for the delayed communication regarding the arrival date of your parts. But this time I need to apologize on behalf of the manufacturer. Unfortunately, when parts are not in stock we need to order the requested parts from the manufacturer and delays can happen. We stock over 100,000 unique parts, but because parts are so make/model/year specific we cannot have all parts in stock (we sell over 2 million unique parts).
The initial fulfillment date you are given is an estimate for delivery based on the assumption that the manufacturer will have all the parts requested in stock. No OEM parts provider -- not even your local dealer -- has access to a live feed that tells exact part availability in real-time so there is unfortunately no way for any OEM part provider to give a perfectly accurate fulfillment estimation. Sometimes delays happen with out-of-stock parts and we do our best to tell you as soon as we are notified.
We appreciate that you've taken the time to reach out to us so we can work on resolving this issue with you.

I had previously wrote about my frustration in receiving the part I ordered with expedited shipping as well as the fact that I was told different shipping/arrival dates by 2 different customer service reps as well having been given an incorrect tracking number which added to the confusion. I am happy to say that boats.net addressed my concerns in less than a day, explained the reason for the different dates provided and gave me the correct tracking number and the item I purchased arrived today as the tracking number indicated. I wanted to update my original overall rating on sitejabber but the site won't allow that so I decided to write a new review and replace the old one. I have never had a company address a complaint as quickly and efficiently as Mary H and Evan S did who were the two who reached out to me. I can say that the item I purchased which I bought for my motorcycle was by far the best priced one I found on the internet and as my motorcycle is an older one, I'm grateful I was able to find it. I would purchase items from boat.net in the future and just anticipate a longer wait time for items that are more scarce.
UPDATE:
Patty,
Thank you so much for taking the time to update your review on SiteJabber! We are so happy to hear that your Virago parts arrived today without any issue, and that customer care was able to help you so quickly. We are very dedicated to making sure you get you the parts you order as quickly as possible. We greatly appreciate your business. Ride safe and we hope to see you again!
Best,

Hello Patty,
Thank you for reaching out to us via this review. A quick note to let you know you have been heard. I have escalated this issue, as well as your order number, to our customer service supervisor. Chris P. Will be in touch with you soon to discuss your order. Thank you for giving us a chance to resolve this issue.
There is clearly an issue with your tracking number here. We'll get that resolved ASAP.
Note that since you are ordering parts for a 1983 Yamaha Virago XV500 motorcycle, it is very likely that the part you ordered is not in stock and needs to be ordered on your behalf from the manufacturer. This is likely what the customer care representative meant when s/he told you "they had to get it from elsewhere." It is a common misunderstanding for customers to see "Ships in 2-3 days" on the part page and think that means the part is in stock and we just need a couple of days for processing. Actually, "Ships in 2-3 days" means that the part is not in stock and it will likely take us an extra 2-3 days to get the part from Yamaha. Parts that are in stock will always say "In Stock."
Thank you again for your business; we will get this resolved as soon as possible.
I ordered my parts told pay extra to get by friday
Then charged me more than told me
No parts on friday
Call and they say tuesday
Heck who takes 6 days to ship a part no matter how much you pay
7.95 went to 11.95 said back to 7.95 then charge 9.95 and still no parts
What a joke be ware of this company and how long to receive we shall see
If i even get my parts this month
UPDATE:
Hello Greg!
Per our private messages, I was able to look up your order. It turns out your part was in stock and was shipped out with a one-day turnaround time. Your order was placed on 8/1 and standard shipping was applied. Your order was shipped out on 8/2. Your order arrived today, 8/7 at 11:50am. The total transit time for this order was 4 days (orders do not move on weekend days, and we cannot ship an order out same-day if the order is not placed before the daily shipping cut off time). You spoke with a customer care representative about your shipping fees and a refund of $2 was applied.
Thank you again for shopping with Boats.net, Greg. Happy wrenching!

Chelsea B.

Hi Greg,
I am sorry you're feeling frustrated about the amount of time it's taking for your parts to arrive! Unfortunately with OEM part sales, sometimes changes in estimated delivery date can happen if a part is delayed getting to use from the manufacturer. We sell millions of OEM motor parts on Boats.net, but we only have the capacity to stock several thousand parts in our distribution centers. Often when customers order OEM parts, they select parts that say "Ships in 1-2 days" -- those are parts that we have to order on your behalf from the manufacturer. Once we get the parts, they'll be shipped out to you same-day.
I just sent you a direct message asking for your order number. I'd love to look in on your order to give you some more information about where your parts are. Without your order number I can only make a few educated guesses about what's happening here.
Best,
Chelsea B.

You order product they see free shipping when it arrives you have to be shipping as well as duties that is not free shipping use Extreme Caution when dealing with this company
Hi John! Sorry for the misunderstanding here. Our Free Shipping offer applies only to packages shipped within the contiguous United States. We make an effort to ensure that is the first line in the Free Shipping portion of our shipping policy so everyone knows exactly what to expect: https://www.boats.net/info/shipping#spend-149-or-more-to-get-free-shipping
I am also sorry for the misunderstanding about International Shipping Policies. Per our International Shipping Policy, "Any duties, taxes, brokerage, or other import fees assessed by customs are the responsibility of the recipient." -- https://www.boats.net/info/shipping#international-shipping-rates
We do our best to communicate our policies to the best of our ability and it is absolutely not our intention to mislead you in any way. Thanks for the review, and we hope you'll give us another chance now that we're on the same page.
Best,
Chelsea B.

Don't waste your time ordering from these people. I'll be taking my pocket book elsewhere. Customer service is a joke when calling.
Hi Donald,
I just sent you a private message. Can you tell me more about your situation? I'd like to help you. When ordering OEM parts a delay in shipping can sometimes happen if the manufacturer does not have the part requested in stock. We sell over 95 MILLION Genuine parts for thousands of year/make/model combinations on Boats.net, but we can only stock about 300,000 unique products in our warehouse facilities. When you see IN STOCK under a part on our website, that is how you know we have that part in our warehouse and it is ready to ship immediately. When you see "ships in 1-2 days" on our website, that means you have selected one of the 95 million parts we need to order on your behalf from an original manufacturer. Unfortunately, there is not currently a live stock feed in place for us to know in real-time what parts are available in stock from the manufacturer, and which are back ordered. Based on the information we are given from the manufacturer, we offer our best assumption for fulfillment time (1-2 days or 3-4 days); this assumption is true 99% of the time, but 1% of the time the manufacturer will find the part not in stock and a delay may occur.
It may be that you ordered a part with a 1-2 day ship estimation that ended up unexpectedly being on backorder from the manufacturer. If this is the case, we are sorry for the delay (we hate this, too).
Thank you for your review, Donald, and we're sorry this order didn't turn out the best for you. We are doing our best to come up with a new and improved way to set appropriate expectations for part delivery and we hope you will give us another chance.
Best,
Chelsea B.

I ordered parts and received confirmation email telling me parts would be shipped July 9th 2018. On July 11th I called to find the status of the order and was told that the parts I ordered were out of stock and would ship that day. When I ordered the parts the web site said all the parts were in stock. Today July 13th I called to see the status and was told the parts were still not there and they are on a National back order. You would think with computers now days they would have know the status of parts and maybe even called or sent me an email to let me know they were not shipped. If you have a job that is needing parts for a customer and you are ordering parts from Boats.Net I would advise you to wait for the parts to arrive in your hand before you give a job completion date because Boats.Net is not going to let you know how long it is going to take to get the order. What they told me was the date of shipment in the order confirmation email is only an estimate and if I would have read the small print I would know that it can change.
Hard Lesson Learned! I wont be ordering through them again unless I have no other choice.
Ordered a part. They said they would ship it overnight. That was 6 days ago. Checked the tracking and it says will not arrive for another 2 days. They RUINED our holiday. Needed that part to get our boat running. Now we have 15 people who traveled 100's of miles to spend the holiday with us and we do not have the boat running. WOW! Dont order from them. Not if you want dependability and honesty. Better be the right part. Wish I had seen these reviews before my husband ordered from them.
Hi Deanne, I am very sorry to hear about this experience you had. We would like to discuss this further with you in order to find out what happened. We will reach out to you directly for more details about your order and to discuss what we can do for you.
They will send you the wrong part and wont give you a refund. You will be stuck with the wrong part and a empty pocketbook!
Hi, I am sorry to here about your experience. It is our policy that if we send you the wrong part due to an error on our end, we will refund the purchase price in full, or replace the part. I will reach out to you directly to get more details about your order, and to see how we can assist you better.
I ordered a part, they shipped a completely different part than the one I ordered. When I went to return it I was told they would not cover the cost because I ordered it online and did not solicit the assistance of their techs. Their return policy states "The cost to ship a return item will be at the expense of Boats.net when we made an error, otherwise shipping is not covered." I guess them shipping the wrong part isn't considered an error. DO NOT TRUST THIS BUSINESS.
I placed an order with Boats.net on April 10,2018. According to their website, everything was in stock. April 11 I get an email stating that one item was on backorder until April 12. I figure OK, no problem with one day. April 19 I get another email stating that part will be on backorder until May 1. I responded to the email requesting that the other items be shipped so that I can get started on those repairs. I got no reply and no parts. Today, May 15 I have not received anything and called and inquired. Still on backorder. When I requested to have my order canceled, then they want to talk about shipping the other parts. No thanks.
I called in on Friday to order a part for overnight. Customer service associate said, "sure, that overnight will be $35." I paid and then arranged for my mechanic and shop time. Come to find out, no, the shipment will not arrive overnight, I had to be a shipping expert and know that Saturday shipment is a completely different thing and the associate did not bother to tell me that. I called back on Saturday to explain the situation, ask for a refund for my overnight charge that was not actually overnight-- and asked how requesting "overnight" means 3 days later-- they said I can go suck it basically. boats.net are crumby dishonest jerks.
They lie to sell! They said on friday that if I order on friday, that they would ship on saturday for me to receive on monday.
They only shipped on monday at the end of the day. We are tuesday, end of the afternoon, still no package. Boats.net = Liar!
Terrible customer service with horrible return policy. Don't expect to receive a return amount that you paid. Heavy return fees with inflated shipping charges. Do not shop here.
Bought a Lower Unit for $3601 then found a $190 lesser unit. Supv. Tried everything he could to discredit the lesser price but could not legitimately. Then emails went unanswered. Ignoring of emails is an apparent company practice and an example of the company price match guarantee policy of we will gladly match the lower price". Their apparent misguided attempt to save the company $190 on a $3600 purchase will only cost them tens of thousands of dollars in future revenue in coming years. It also creates more negative publicity over the internet through social media and more lost sales, from people who have had enough with companies who try and hide behind the internet. BBB complaint also went unanswered.
Item ordered 20/12, not received, no answer to emails or calls, tracking info appears false, just hopeless. Claim opened via Paypal to try and get my money back.
Please avoid this scam company.
