Ordered parts 24 oct received about 20 days later one of the part wasn't the correct one even after sending photos of the part and screen capture of the website etc... never got sent the correct! So paid for nothing so I row for 1 month and a half while hoping to receive the right part... had enough waiting bought a new engine... ( sent a few mails no answer, called and got hang up on) definitely the worse experience with a internet order!

My package was lost
July 25, 2017

My package gets lost. I've been waiting 8 DAYS now since it's been lost and they say I have to wait another 10 days for an investigation. It's a $30 part! There solution is for me to order another part and pay for overnight shipping. It may only be $30 but I'm not spending another penny with this company.

Purchased a Yamaha OEM starter for $450 when I could have gotten an aftermarket for $150. Less than a year later it failed. Called Boats.net to get it replaced and was told they do not offer warranties! They advised me to go to my nearest authorized Yamaha dealer. Well I thought that's what they were, an authorized Yamaha dealer which is why I purchased from an OEM authorized dealer! What a scam!

POOR customer service
October 25, 2016

I ordered a carburetor from them. Was told it would arrive by 10/21/2016. I called them today(10/28/2016) to inquire as to where my carb was. They told me it was on backorder and would not arrive to me until... DECEMBER! WHAT? DECEMBER! I was not told at the time of ordering that the item was on backorder, and was never notified that the item was on backorder either. The rep on the phone did cancel the order but could not have given less that I was now put out another week ordering the part elsewhere.
STAY AWAY FROM Boats.net!

We apologize for any experience that is less than great for our customers. Allow me to explain the ordering process for OEM marine parts. Our availability other than “In Stock” or “One Business Day”, i. E. 1-2 Days is an estimate of the lead time from thnufacturer, who’s location is usually one day shipping from us.We have more product in stock that anyone in the industry, and a higher fill rate than anyone in the industry. The manufacturers do NOT provide live availability in an electronic format that would allow us to better communicate lead time on over ONE MILLION parts. Product that we do not stock, we order from the manufacturer within one business day of the customer’s order, and our first advice of any delay from the manufacturer is after we have ordered the product, at which time we adjust the customer’s ETA, and promptly send an email. During this time, the customer has the option to cancel.

Terrible customer service, I will never use again. They sent me the wrong part, and would not even accept a return. I had to dispute the charge with my credit card fraud department in order to get my money back.

I ordered parts for my water pump on Tuesday 8/9. After the order was placed my order status showed one part was back ordered until Friday. It showed in stock when I placed my order. I live chatted with customer service on Wednesday 8/10 who said the part had to be shipped from the manufacturer and should be in on Thursday. He said I could overnight the part for Friday 8/12 delivery for $15. The part wasn't there on Thursday, so I called Friday. They were waiting on the truck to arrive, so I asked about setting up overnight delivery, but since it would be Saturday 8/13 they wanted to charge me $85. I declined. On Monday, 8/15 I chatted with Jonathan who told me the part had been shipped from Mercury and should be to boats.net on Tuesday 8/16. I chatted with a different Jonathan on Tuesday, 8/16 who told me my order had shipped in full. Later that evening I received an email from boats.net stating that everything but the back ordered part had shipped and it wouldn't be available until the next Friday, 8/19... a whopping 10 days after I ordered it in the middle of boating season. I finally cancelled the order for the part and pay extra shipping from another company in order to get the parts on 8/18 so I can boat this weekend. I will never use boat.net again. My experience was horrible.

Received a prop lock and didn't install it immediately because I didn't need the new prop yet. They sent a kit with a key that didn't fit the nut so it's worthless. They lied about getting back to me and refused to correct it. I wouldn't buy from them ever again. I'd drive 200 miles to get a part before giving them a nickel.

I ordered 6 sparks plugs from boats.net and only received one. I have been in constant contact with customer service via email with no satisfaction and at this point they have ceased communication with me. When I first searched for my part number on their website (QC12PEPB), it came up with this: http://www.boats.net/search/?q=QC12PEPB+ On this page, it clearly shows "QC12PEPB Spark Plug, 6/Box", once in the web page title (In the tab of the browser, and once again in 16.5 font size on the main page). AFTER I made my complaint, they changed the Description in the web page to "PRICED
PER PLUG" as seen here: http://www.boats.net/parts/detail/accessories/R-*******.html The customer service rep says that they did not make any changes to this page, however, I know that the "PRICED PER PLUG" was NOT on the web page at the time of purchase and they obviously made the change after my complaint which I feel is false advertising.
As of now, they STILL have 'Spark Plug, 6/Box in 3 places on the web page which I feel needs to be removed to prevent confusion in the future, however, they are telling me they can't change it which I find hard to believe.

Ultimately, I do not think they handled the situation well at all. They will not make things right: Fix the issue on their website regarding quantity and ship me the additional 5 spark plugs. Ceasing communications with me is not professional at all.

Ordered Yamaha part on 7-12-16 received 7-14-16. From FL.To TX. Free freight and no state sales tax. OEM part was 15% less than everybody else on the net.
Doesn't get any better than that.

I ordered several parts at once as I was rebuilding my motorcycle. On their website, they claimed that everything was in stock and is ready to ship in 2-3 days. FALSE! It's two weeks already and I just now received a partial shipment. I called them several times and nobody seems to know anything about anything. Finally someone promised me that they will ship what they have and another part will be shipped the next day, which never happened either. And now they are saying that their policy doesn't allow more than one partial shipment and blablabla. Basically in short: this company is unprofessional, not courteous and not at all punctual.

This is the worse company to order any type of boat parts from! I own a marine repair company and had nothing but problems from BOATS.NET. Takes forever ( 5 days this time) to get parts shipped and you are REAL lucky if they get it right, then excuses and more excuses for messing it all up. If I could give this company a negative star I would! So I get unhappy customers because this company has no clue on what they are doing! BEWARE IF YOU ORDER FROM THESE MORONS!

Ordered a water pump kit for an evinrude motor. Upon opening found that most of the kit was the right stuff but the impeller ( the most important part!) was not the right one. Luckily I found one at a marine repair shop 40 miles away and twice the cost but it got me on the water that day. Just called them to return the impeller for a partial credit and they refused saying I had to return the entire kit, even though it was all just thrown in together, obviously not a "pre packaged" kit. This is the second time in a row they sent the wrong part. Will never use them again!

Update 6-8-16... I received correspondence today from Boats.net and they are giving a credit for the impeller, which I do appreciate.

I bought from them a rectifier (55$) but it didn't work. I sent them a message to proceed to en exchange. They answered me they couldn't do anything and that THERE WAS NO WARRANTY from them and I had to see with a retailer. A real scandal!

Don't buy from them

EDIT: Problem finally solved. Full refund after my review. Thank you
