Getting the boat out of winter storage and tuning it up, i found a missing gasket on the engine airbox. The boat and engine are 26 years old so parts can be problematic at times. The engine is a Mercury 2 cycle, 3 cylinder, 40Hp. Got the part number from Mercury and started around to my usual local part suppliers. Nobody had them in stock but could order them from the factory and have them in 10-12 days. I had checked Boats.net and their price was a little better than my local suppliers and their delivery promises were a bit more optimistic than ordering from the factory. So I figured what the heck, I'll give Boats.net a try.

I placed the order the morning of March 23,2026 and it was delivered at 8am on March 26,2026. Needless to say, I was impressed! Especially that it was delivered by a man in a nice, new Cadillac.

I don't think Boats.net would want me to hold them to that level of performance on every order but it was outstanding. The order was for $5 worth of gaskets and they could have just as easily slipped them into an envelope and put a postage stamp on it. Instead, the impression of their order entry and processing system this order gave me is that I will have no question about using them again and recommending them to others.

Lots of Yamaha OEM parts with great pricing and discounts.
Shipping was phenomenal, arrived earlier than said and well packed!

I have used boats. Net several times. There web site makes it fairly easy to navigate to look up parts. I have also called in the past and they are very helpful. Unfortunately for me, parts are getting harder to find for my 1997 Honda 90 hp outboard. No fault of boats.net either. They are my go to online shopping for motor parts. Fair price and shipping is fast.

After receiving the wrong parts I contacted customer service and explained the situation and was sent a return label. While on the phone with customer service I ordered what was supposed to be the right part and somehow was again sent the wrong part. Not sure what the issue is but this is unacceptable!

Local mower shop back ordered my part. Still not available after one month and no projected delivery date. I then ordered the OEM part from Boats.com on a Monday and it was delivered the following Saturday.

Ordered several parts for a 1995 Mercury outboard that are difficult to find elsewhere. The parts were reasonably priced, delivered on time, and shipped in a very strong box to prevent shipping damage. I was totally impressed.

Purchased lower unit oil seals top and bottom and all water pump parts for my Tohatsu 20 hp, used standard shipping and the parts were delivered within 3 days. All parts fit as they should, I will be using Boats.Net again for any other parts I need in the future!
