Issues such as long wait times, unhelpful responses, and unresolved problems dominate the feedback, leading to a pervasive sentiment of dissatisfaction. The company appears to struggle with accountability and transparency, prompting many customers to seek alternatives, indicating a critical need for improvement in service delivery and customer relations.

My keypad was no longer working, so I had to get a new phone. I had some things on my old phone that I needed for legal purposes. I had to find out how to download that information, so I called customer service. They didn't know how, but told me that I could have extended time to keep the phone and to call them with the tracking number as soon as I mailed it. On 12/18/2018, they turned off my service even though I was told that I could have extra time to get the information off the old phone. On 12/20/2019, I mailed the phone and called Assurance to tell them that I had mailed it and what the tracking number was. This time I was told that they had to wait until they received the phone before they could restore the service. The phone was received on 12/26/2018, so I had a neighbor call and was told that it would take at least 24 hours to activate my service. Next, I had a friend call, and this time they said that they needed 24 -48 hrs. To process it, but to keep checking my phone to see if it was turned on. All this time, I had been sick with the flu and unable to get medical help, because this phone is my only means of communication. It is now 12/28/2018 and the service was finally turned on, however I cannot set it up. I don't know what network this phone uses and I don't have any information from my old phone that will help with this.
They said this keyboard would be easier for me to use since the keys were larger. Not so. This is exactly the same keyboard I had that I have to use a stylist on to press one key. At this point, I still can't use my phone and think I will look for another company.
I've had this service over 5 years. I upgraded to a smart phone and the horrors began! They changed my top up date, asked for another application, I mailed it in three months ago when I got my new phone. Christmas Eve morning I have no Service and they said I don't qualify anymore! Mind you nothing has changed with my income either! Horrible customer service, three phone calls in and as I write this I'm still on hold, going on 15 minutes while they "check my account"
Assurance wireless has consistently provided the worst customer service I have ever received. I have had the same problem for over a year and have called their customer service twice a month. The call center is pathetic and just wants to get you off the line. STAY AWAY.
Tone of voice and lack of patience among other things. Actually told me "... for the last time..." and he only told me a 2nd time what my service plan was after activating the phone... not my fault A. W. uses people that can barely enunciate and with an obvious strong enough accent that makes it more difficult to understand if they're saying one thing or another. This just happened less than an hour ago.
The phones are cheap. Their service is lousy. I have begged to use a good phone that a friend bought me... never used... and they won't. I have tried to go to another provider and they make it impossible.
They are terrible.
I gave everything they asked for twice the first time they lost all my info and then the 2nd time i got denied, stay away from them because now i have to worry what they will do with all my info they got from me now?
This phone has been nothing but trouble from the moment I received it would shut off on me than would not turn on the now says Google frame work isn't responding what the hell kind of phone system is this
This is the fourth and last phone of theirs I will be returning. I will no longer use them because I can't get my notifications. The phone keeps shutting them off. Phones don't work and there is no Customer Service whatsoever! Don't even respond on Facebook. Sure will give you a robocall to recertify but will not answer or contact you to troubleshoot. Every single time, I end up having to contact the Public Utilities Commission and they end up having to fix it and help me recertify because their website never worked for me to do it. I have 30 ongoing health problems and this is causing communication problems with my Physicians. I will not be recertifying again and I am returning this phone. Useless company.
It's nice to provide us poor folks with cell phones, but it took me 10 phone calls and 28 emails to convince them that said cell phone should actually work!
They were great in the beginning but now their phones stink and you don't get any sane help when you tell them you're having problems. I finally reached a supervisor who promised I'd get a new phone, just talk to tech first, who told me no, I can't have a phone that works until June. They accused me of dropping it in my coffee. Now that they replaced my phone I have to stay with them for 1 year before I can see if another service provides phones that work consistently without shutting off, calling people and not allowing me to hang up, a smart phone that can't preform basic functions.
This service is supposed to give you some comfort that help can be reached but I'm not comforted at all! Help will only come on the off chance the phone works when I need it!
I don't know how well the other companies work but I assure you, stay away from Assurance Wireless.
Assurance wireless cut off my service without any type of prior notification. I am indigent, have no car, I've got doctors appointments to verify, rides to try and get to said appointments, and I'm a senoir citizen. Why the heck didn't Assurance let me know I needed to re-up on the certification instead of just cutting my service off? So far no one at their out-sourced offices can answer that. If there is someone here in the United States that can answer the above, feel free to contact me at *******@yahoo.com. As of today I have no phone
I guess people on medicaid etc should just be grateful to get a free smartphone? But not when it's a piece of crap that keeps malfunctioning, doesn't support basic apps, can't manage alarms, turns off sporadically, and doesn't even get reception in one of the biggest cities in my state! I was mainly going to use this for texting and for my medication alarm reminders, but it's pretty much useless.
What is 7-10 business days? 7-10 business days from monday january 22nd is if i order a free phone i can wait until february 2nd 2018
Assurance Wireless is okay but not that great. The phone I received is a ZTE N817 phone. Pretty small. But the phone constantly freezes when I try to make calls and browse the internet, closes out of apps for no reason and won't even let me end calls. I end up having to press the end button more than once.
I didn't have to pay for the phone, since I get food stamps (EBT) and I have Medical Assistance. I currently receive 350 minutes, 500 MB of internet, and unlimited texting.
The initial phone was a bare bones minimum cell phone that came with an instruction booklet. I used it only for emergency out calls when I was not at home (at home I use a landline). Deciding to try to do other things with it I could not figure out how, since I lost the booklet. When I called to request another, was told there was no record of me as a customer! It took many calls to straighten it out and I never found out why. Weeks later I was cancelled because I didn't use the phone often enough. Had to apply for a new phone and when I was told the new model was an 'upgrade' asked if it came with instruction booklet also and they said no. My application was turned down. Letter was vague and I was not able to speak with anyone re my application specifically to learn what I did wrong. Rep at the toll free number was in Phillipines. He could not direct me to an office in my city or state but said I should visit 'any gov't office to look for an assurance wireless booth' in order to re-apply in person/ask questions re my application. My application that was rejected was mailed to a post office in a different city and state and rep did not have contact info for that office.
In this case, even tho I receive this for no charge because I am low-income senior, if I had to pay $1 per month, I wouldn't., their Customer Service, if you can call it that, is in the Phillipines,. Either they cant understand what you are saying or vice-versa. HORRIBLE. When I ordered an Android phone so I could access the internet, they sent it WITHOUT A USER'S MANUAl. The 1st 7 days I couldn't even answer a phone call
Bad experience with assurance. Stressful. Only had phone a few days.it was gov. Free phone but I couldn't talk on it because the phone and carrier was so bad. Couldnt hear and other party couldn't hear me taking to them. Customer service real bad. What good is a free phone if you can't talk on it? I wanted transfer my number back that I had for years because of their service and they canceled my service because of that.
I had a horrible battle with Assurance Wireless for over a year. Every time I applied they would send me a new phone, not one I could use in my apartment (no reception). Why did I have to apply more that once, that is part of the whole ordeal I went through. The customer service over the phone is horrible, these folks know nothing. Going through facebook is a little better.
I sent back every phone they sent me (because I had my own that was approved for the service provider), except one because the package was damaged, called that in and gave the CS person all the information for that phone to be removed from my account. Well that did not happen.
With lifeline service you can only have one, the phone I didn't send back was automatically activated, how stupid is that! So I had 2 phones on my account, and kept getting shut down regularly. But no CS person could tell me why.
I finally contacted the BBB with the sad story (twice I had to do this), amazingly I was contacted by a Sprint CS person. And finally got my account straightened out. It was a fricken nightmare. Assurance is the lesser of all the evils in regards to lifeline service. And I've done a lot of research into what was available in my area, and I really liked my phone that I bought that functioned with the service provider.
Sprint owns Virgin, Virgin is part of Assurance Wireless. I love the BBB!

Signed up for the free phone/minutes plan as advertised on TV last month, NEVER received product, Rep entered incorrect info onto my application form (which i applied over phone with...>>) they refused to make changes to info, never sent phone, refused to send new phone to CORRECT address, refused to transfer me to a supervisor to fix problem, non of anyone i spoke to spoke fluent english, they even refused to cancel my account! This whole deal is aimed at low income persons looking for assistance with obtaining phone service, so just be aware if your looking to enroll in this "program". Ive contacted the BBB and filed an official complaint already.

Answer: No they only have 1 phone, a UMX. They don't work you can't even call Costomer Service with it.
Answer: I doubt it if you will ever get one and if you do you will wind up throwing it in the trash. Believe me.
Answer: Mine didn't and I just had mine replaced! But both phones are a piece of junk! Do yourself a favor and do not sign up with this company?
