It's so sad to say, but, here you will find the most creative vendettas being acted out when you get too big for your' Obama phone britches'! All else aside Eki and Kimberly will take you to task when they discover 'their' mistakes. It is so worth it to not ever need to receive government services, especially if people from other countries are handling the customer services. The idea of having to serve a poor person, much less a poor American will get your phone shut off or cut back because by-golly your lifeline services is in their hands so don't go off acting like you have the rights to be anything but thankful and grateful because they are ready to teach you how to talk less and need less minutes.

Service is worst
November 27, 2019

I have been a customer since 2011. I have always liked the customer service but the phone service has gotten really bad. The phone that I had when I first became a customer was better than the phones that I have received over the years and that was one of the first phone without internet all I could do was text and call but I would have kept that phone instead of the phones that I have received since. The phone that I have now is the worst phone I think that they have

Less than one star
November 24, 2019

I have been a customer for about three years. The service just keeps getting worse because now the phone is basically unusable. People call me and my phone does not ring. Then, I see I have a voicemail and I can't dial out I have to dial many times to even get through to voicemail. It just keeps looking like it's ringing until it says call ended. When the phone rings in so many spam ads for gaming Etc pop up on my screen I can't get to the part of the screen to answer and I lose the call. Then I try to call them back and it takes average six times before the call will ring through. I can't stand it anymore and I'm worried that there may be an emergency and I won't be able to use this phone. Customer service people are hard to understand and most the time don't seem to understand the problem I'm trying to explain to them. I have had a reset on this phone numerous times and it works for about half a day. I'm going to spend the rest of the day Googling alternative phone companies I see all the other reviews are having my same problem so steer clear

Cons
November 20, 2019

They flood your phone with pop up adds that prevent you from answering your phone or respond to your text messages and when you call,,, their customer service agents tell you that they need a visa or master her words to get it to stop. What a crock of $#*!!, complete cons attempting to take advantage of people who obviously cannot afford regular cellular plans hints the Lifeline service.
If you currently have this company and are reading reviews due to the issues you are having please file a formal complaint with your states Lifeline regulators to put a end to this Hussle! They get paid by the government to provide this service they should not be putting up obstacles to try to get you to pay for them to be blocked!

I have been with Tmobile for 8 years - I have paid my bill on time every single month for this long. I have also paid Tmobile 15 a month for their Insurance provider which is - Assurant every single month for 8 years. I have never broke a phone - well; that was until a few weeks ago " Mind you" with an Otter box symmetry case - I dropped my phone on a flat surface and it broke! I contacted assurant - I filed my claim - I had to pay a 100.00 deductible - I am sorry if Assurant sent me a REFURBISHED item back " I do not care if it is perfect " I am still stuck paying TMobile 700+ dollars for a REFURBISHED USED item! When I signed up to pay monthly payments on a phone - I never expected to be sent a used item back. This flat out is unacceptable. I was on the phone with Tmobile and Assurant, on the same line - at the same time - they both kept saying it was each other! No one helped me. I am writing this review to say - Assurant will send you used items back " your stuck " still paying full price to TMOBILE for a used ITEM. It does not matter how long you have been with who - or how loyal you are - ASSURANT will send you used items back - I was told the item depreciates once someone has it. Well... since someone has had it... shouldnt my bill on yo end DEPRECIATE?!? WTF. So now i am stuck! Thanks Tmobile for the wonderful insurance options you provide your loyal customers with. FYI thank you for still charging me full price for a used item. I am so unhappy about this... i do not care if sprint does this too. I probably will be switching to them.

Don; t even bother
November 14, 2019

I've gone through two of these piece of $#*! phones, the first couldn't handle incoming or outgoing calls. The ring doesn't work about 40% of the time with incoming calls and outgoing calls just drop. All the apps kept crashing, I think due to preinstalled malware, (things are LOADED with $#*!ty games) I had to factory reset it three times, the third time locked me out completely, I called their "Help Line" which is in India and all they tell you is to reset it, ( one guy literately didn't even know how a Smartphone worked) I said I did and I couldn't get back in, then I was given a number that turned out to be Google Fibre ( which, if you don't know, have nothing whatever to do with Assurance Wireless or phone advice) I was sent another phone. SAME PROBLEMS. It worked for about a week, calls dropped, didn't ring with incoming calls, all the apps kept crashing again, factory reset it twice, got locked out, blah, blah, blah. They're both in a landfill now. Now they're saying "we've upgraded." From the recent reviews on here, it doesn't; t look like it. DON'T-EVEN-BOTHER.

This has got to be the worst example of an "insurance" company as it gets. What they do should be fraud. 3 days for processing a claim, and then hopefull mailed out the same day. This will leave you at a minimum of without a phone for a week! Not worth it. Will decline their coverage in the future. BEWARE.

Horrible
November 9, 2019

2019 assurance is 350 minutes, unlimited ads, data does not work and battery dies in one day. Vs SafeLink 1000 minutes and 1 GB data. Who owns the towers does make a huge difference! And horrible service.

Built-In Spam prevents incoming and outgoing emergency calls. If you get a call, you can't get the spam, that's built into the phone, to go away fast enough to accept the call. And equally bad, if you try to make an emergency call, you're flooded with spam and cannot make an outgoing call fast enough. In addition, they give you cheap phones that don't always work right, example speaker phone faulty, volume faulty. And they'll send you replacement phones that are equally as bad and not tested, fully.

GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR
October 29, 2019

Is your crappy service due to wanting or expecting us to upgrade? If so, you can take this piece of poop of a phone back. If you are all about helping your customers try hiring someone to read these reviews and start brainstorming on how to fix these SIGNIFICANT problems. It literally takes almost 20 minutes to get a connection (on wifi) for my messages to send and sometimes even longer to receive them. Assurance/Q-Link and any other Lifeline Company should be ashamed of themselves. I'm ashamed I stooped low enough to put my information (which they still do not have corrected) out there to get a generic phone that doesn't work. But hey! I guess you get what you paid for. Since this was a free service, free phone then the service should be crappy as all get out! I swear as soon as I am able to get another phone I AM THROWING THIS ONE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET! It just may work better. Lol

STALL! That's what they do rather than fixing the problems. This was my second UMX phone from Assurance. Intermittent incoming and outgoing calls/texts was the issue with both phones. One minute the phones made and received calls/texts. The next minute calls/texts would not connect or go through at all. When I notified ASSurance, I was constantly brushed off with, "technicians are working in that area... wait for 1 hour... wait for 3 days... wait for 7 days." I waited, called back, and the same lie was given week after week after week. Around and around I went from their often unprofessional and unskilled advice, yet I could never simply make and receive calls or texts consistently. Is this a plot to deliberately diminish the quality of low-income services rather than cutting them outright (limiting risks of public outrage)? I would have BOUGHT one of Assurance Wireless' overpriced phones had I felt the service would have been better, but since they kept saying there was a technical issue in my area, Western Kentucky, there was no guarantee of better results.

Phone freezes all the time, can barley get service in ten percent of the areas, can't get service in the other 90 percent. Customer service is a joke. Phone is the cheapest piece of dog Dotty there is. They said they would send me an upgraded phone. The idiots sent the the same phone and it is worse than the last one. Go get a rotary dial land line it will be much better than this company. Get a root canal with no novicaine that would be better than this company.

Terrible
October 16, 2019

This is the worst phone I have ever seen in my life! The phone is always freezing, your calls break up and spam calls are a constant! It's a nightmare and whoever is in charge of giving these to people as an effort to help should come up with something better or half way decent

I applied for this phone back in 2012 when I was diagnosed with terminal, Stage IV Cancer. They quit providing service while I was paralyzed in the hospital in 2016, saying I never used the phone. I had hemiparesis due to the craniotomies to my brain. How was I to use the phone?

I have been around and around with them, sent COUNTLESS applications with proof of my participation in all the government programs, and I even qualify as being way under the poverty level for a one person household, which by itself should be enough.

What I don't understand is why this company is the one recommended on the MyAccess Florida site which anyone with a disability will know is the website for the Florida Department Of Children And Families Access Florida program providing Medicaid and SNAP. I receive both.

I just wish there were another option provided for lifeline assistance. I certainly do need it and I'm sure a lot on here do. By the way, Assurance Wireless is a branch of Virgin Mobile. I have a mind to contact Richard Branson about this, I hear he is a very nice man.

I am very disappointed with Assurance Wireless customer service. I can't understand how this kind of scams are allowed to exist. They supposed to help poor people but all they do is to lye and rip you off. Somebody should do something about it!
I called them for about 5 times, I was promised to get help and I got no help at all. They promised to send me the phone, they charged me for the shipping and service and I got no phone at all. Shame on them!
