WARNING
July 1, 2019

I say beware. Not the lifeline they advertise. Just received my assurance phone. Making a call is a roll of the dice Everytime. One out of five calls make it. Text app always crashing. Have to remove battery in a average of 3 times a day. Phone just completely freezes up won't do nothing

I qualified for an free service government phone. They sent me an very bad ANS smart phone with faulty battery life. Tons of reviews online relaying the same problem and even Assurance Wireless has said these phones are crap. Twice the representative has told me I qualified for an upgraded phone. Twice nothing has ever came in the mail. This phone is going to be tossed in the garage where it belongs and as for the cs of these people hey there's an lot of other phone providers!

Assurance is the worst phone company on the planet. Assurance uses the cheapest to most unreliable phones made and their customer service is is manned by people who do no seem very knowledgeable about the the job they are doing and do not use English as a first language. The only reason I gave them a rating of one is because there is no zero

Talk to a wall
June 23, 2019

Issue 1.
I did my monthly re-certify online and through phone too. I did do it before the deadline, but according to their data, I didn't, and my service was stop.

Issue 2.

I've been trying to get a replacement for almost 2 months and also sent in my application with all the support document, but according to their data, they never got it.

Dealing with them is like talking to a wall. I know this is a free service, but please get your acts together.

If they send you a replacement phone and you dont have a return shipping label, they will send you one and they will put the wrong address 3 times and suspend your service even though they put the wrong address because it needs to be returned in 45 days. I had to call Fed Ex and give them the right address and even though the mistake was one Assurance Wireless made they still would not turn my service on, said the needed the device back before they would do so which takes 7 to 10 business day. There customer service is the worst I have ever experienced and they take no accountability for their mistakes. Now I am with out a phone for about 2 weeks with no doctor contact,, work, kids... family... but this is a Lifeline phone right... DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

Ripoff
June 7, 2019

I broke two of the post phones in no time. I got another one sent to me after paying shipping and lost it 2 weeks later. I added $15.00 for the
Unlimitedtalk plan on the 5th of June and they tell me it will only last until the 18th of June. That's total B. S. so if I order another one it will take a week to get here and then that $15.00 is only good for 3or4 days. Total ripoff. It is better to just go to a different carrier other than assurance wireless or virgin mobile.at least you won't get screwed over.

Got one of these phones a couple weeks ago because the guy wouldnt leave us alone about getting one and all he needed was our last 4 of our social. Both phones broke a week, Service didnt work when the phones did work. Just garbage. If you're going to give someone something to "save their life" at least make it reliable!

Previously, I had Safelink Wireless for 3 years. Suddenly, at the beginning of this year, they decided to deactivate my phone TWICE in 2 months (for inactivity while I was ACTIVELY using the phone!) forcing me to re-apply. So, I finally canceled them.

So, I decide to try Assurance Wireless. They tell me I need to qualify with Lifeline AGAIN. So, I do that. I call them and they don't have the info. I tell them I have the confirmation number. They tell me that they don't have the confirmation number in their system. They say to call them back in 48 hours. I do so. Still nothing. I was told by Lifeline to just give them the number. But, they don't listen to me. So, all I have is a phone that will dial 911. Nice government program. I always end up talking to someone in India who barely speaks English. And they read a script. I think the Govt is trying to kill this service by making it such a nightmare. Our tax dollars at work - giving someone a job in India. Nice. As if we Americans couldn't do their jobs. But, we won't work for pennies because we can't afford to.

My 'free' phone lasted 3 days. I quickly switched back to my previous carrier after trying a few rounds with their customer disservice.
Suck is not a strong enough word for what this outfit does.
I believe it is a criminal enterprise, like Trump University or the White House.

Very bad service, very bad devices, very bad customer service support all in the Philippines. Been with them 3 years too long. This company shouldn't be allowed to do Business in the USA. This Company is part of almost a monopoly. Virgin mobile, Sprint a couple of other smaller companies & soon T Mobile. I can't believe a company this bad is allowed to continue to do Business in The USA. Goes to show how far the USA has gone to HELL since trump took office. A republican in the pre election debates had it right 3 US organization that should be done away with & made better are The FCC FDA & the USDA. They all aren't doing their job & getting by with murder.

Do yourself a favor and do not ever sign up for service with Assurance Wireless. The phones never work. I spent a few months just tearing my hair out over these piece of sh** phones. They sent me a replacement but it was useless too. I have no idea where they are making them but the phones kept crashing, operating issues and randomly deletes all contact info for no reason! I hate their phones so much I seriously just wanted to go to a bridge and throw them over and watch the cars just obliterate this junk.

I have tried 5 phones in 2 months and they(the phones) erase all your numbers for NO REASON. Customer service is horrible also. You NEVER can possibly get ANYONE who can speak English so you can understand them. The phones go crazy haywire at the drop of a hat. These phones were not dropped nor abused in any way by me. Do NOT use this company!

Absolutely ridiculous to put people through this kind of hell just because they need a little help. This is a scam The government allocates money and this company is committing fraud. These phones do not wirk and they know this but continue to keep sending them out, having you waste hours upon hours to activate only to once again fail you. The worst that could hapoen when dealing with legal matters and medical situations. Really sad!

I just found out my cell phone hasn't been notifying me of calls or messages. I lost my unemployment claim because I received a message today saying that I had to contact them last week. I've gone through this a hundred times with Assurance Wireless. Same problem with the same incompetent response. They send me to tech support to keep resetting and updating the software. The cell phone doesn't work, plain and simple, but they don't want to replace it. Do not trust these people. I've missed out on employment opportunities and now unemployment benefits because of this defective phone and lack of solutions or concern from Assurance Wireless.

The worst
April 23, 2019

I keep getting phones that crash after a couple days. The third phone never got to me cuz they didn't put my apartment #. So I called and let them know and ordered a 3rd. 2 weeks later I called to see where it was. It had never been ordered.

Talk about a joke. Making low income people, many of whom have disabilities, jump through hoops to get what has become a basic necessity for life. I'm not trying to call friends and gossip about stuff, I need a phone for dr. Appts, insurance stuff, housing issues and such. These are not "fun" calls they are out of necessity. For the week I had a working phone, I couldn't hardly use it because apps kept popping up every time I tried to dial a number.

Six ANS 40/50 phones in four months. Screen freezes. Can not turn it on. Error messages, phone crashes... always something. The phones are junk and simply do not work. Wasted countless hours on hold, trying hacks, system restores... NOTHING WORKS. The ANS 40/50 are a junk toys, seconds, incompatible and fail after a few days or weeks. Someone is making lots of money passing this junk off as a working smart phone. Better to use a reputable dealer and don't be surprised if assurance finally closes its door. Absolute shameful worst.
