I have bought button batteries, household items a lot of other stuff, no problem with merchandise, just slow shipping, should not complain shipping is usually free. But customer service is great...
I have been an Amazon customer for a few years & really like the variety of merchandise. The new Smile feature is an added bonus. Be sure to order from Amazon rather than 3rd party to get the free shipping on over $50! Many items are available directly from them, you just have to read carefully. Only item not satisfactory is the 9 hour VHS tapes - don't know if it's my VCR or the tapes are old, but I'm switching to a digital security camera soon anyway.
There are millions of people who only have one computer in their home, or uses the same account to shop with, and when they are buying a gift for someone they don't want them to see the recommendation, because it is based on what you viewed. Anyone else who uses the computer and goes to Amazon can see what you are looking at. And you can't turn that feature off.
And like most big companies today; there is nobody you can talk to; they simply don't want to hear about any customer complaints, unless it's on a list they provide.
They are also not cheap.
The other day I was going to order a basketball pump from them; it was $4.95; with $6.75 shipping. I went to E-bay found the same pump, for the same price from a 5 star dealer, and the shipping was free. The Amazon seller wanted more for shipping, and handling then the item cost.
Amazon only gives you free shipping if you spend over $35.00. In my book that makes them yet another Corporate giant trying to get more out of you, then you should have to pay.
There are better deals on E-Bay then these rip off artists are trying to scam you with.
They are sneaky!
My wife ordered a vest for me on their website. There was no mention that this vest was coming from China until after you place your order.
The vest cost $20.00 with shipping. What they don't mention is that if it doesn't fit, like mine didn't; it would cost you $20.00 to send it back to China. I myself would call that deceptive practices. They knew how much it would cost to return this item; but they didn't tell you!
Bottom line; you can get the same stuff on E-Bay that you can get from Amazon, from some honest Mom, and Pop business, often with free shipping. All you have to do is look at the customer reviews of that business. Only deal with the good ones!
As for Amazon; well I've bought stuff from this company for at least 10-years, but after this last rip off purchase, They can kiss my you no what!
I bought my clone from Amazon,
Quality was not good.
Took 5 days to get my clone..
Amazon was once the low price leader and great deals are still plentiful but I do have one criticism-gougers. I will give a real example that I recently experienced. I was pricing a DeLohngi oil filled radiator that was selling almost everywhere for $129 w free shipping. After they sold out other vendors advertised the exact heater for $280. I think it gives Amazon a bad name and they should exercise some control over what their vendors charge. I purchased it from HSN for $119 w free shipping. This is just one example, I have seen this happen on several items I was shopping for during the Christmas season.
Great service, free shipping with Prime and easy to return if not happy with merchandise.
Amazon rocks, i buy lots of goods from here and i have a kindle so i get my books here too,
The range of goods is huge and at competitive prices.
I place orders with Amazon weekly. They are fast, reliable and have almost anything you can think of. I like the price comparisons and the prime shipping is a great value. I have only needed to contact customer service on two orders out of 100. On both occasions they were disappointing. The phone number is hard to find, and they try to get you to use the web. I had a gift card that was delivered to the wrong person. It took me three phone calls to resolve it because the representative didn't take the action the promised. Customer service is shockingly bad given the great service Amazon otherwise delivers.
Has eerything you could ever need! Probably the only website where you can get everything you can think of.
Our closest town with stores of any size is 30 minutes away, so we prefer to do much of our shopping online. Our prime membership makes this possible, as we can purchase replacement parts for our snow blower, tools, food, and any number of things online with free shipping. As long as UPS and FedEx can get through we are OK, and that means a lot to us as we can't always get out our driveway.
Amazon is trustworthy, reliable and offers such a large selection of products as well as buying options, its hard to go wrong. Also love the free ship/free return on many products. I always check amazon before any other site
Good deals. They respond quickly if I have a problem.
Best site to find just about anything. You all know there are many other sites like Amazon, but I keep going back to what I like. The only thing I wish is that when you are looking for things you could sort the ones that come up in a price order.
The service is great if you have a problem with a seller. Shipping is fine. Depends on where and who you buy through. I am still on the fence about Amazon Prime. I guess if you buys a ton of stuff this is great. But a lot of time I can get it cheaper buying it for $1 with $3 shipping then the prime price of $10... as an example.
I love amazon they have great customer service. Beware of the prime deals though sometimes even with the free shipping you can get it through another company on amazon pay the shipping and still get it cheaper you may just have to wait an extra day or so
Amazon is so amazing to buy here the better deal and quick deliver ever
Always use Amazon and never had a major issue. Any problems are swiftly resolved
I have a love/hate relationship with Amazon.com. On one hand, you can find just about anything you could possibly want to buy on the Internet. I like that I have a choice of sellers to purchase from. However, on the other hand I find Amazon a very visually busy website to view and navigate. I often find myself navigating in circles trying to find what I am looking for. It's just way too darn complicated of a website. Information overload! With all of that being said, all of the items I purchased in the past have arrived pretty quickly. When items have arrived damage, return shipping was a breeze.
How can I complain about incredible selection, 2 day prime shipping, and surprisingly great customer service? Kudos to amazon!
I am using Amazon since 2011 for my Kindle ebook and never found any fault on it. I salute your maintenance and all other stuff.
Answer: I concur with all of the above answers except about the kindle. I have contacted Amazon via phone and they were very helpful.
Answer: Bought a hair dryer for my daughter in Melbourne. Arrived no probs.
Answer: Try Walmart! They deliver food too, and they accept EBT as well. I am switching to Walmart now because I ordered food from Amazon Fresh on 4 different occasions, and never received my groceries. I am disabled and I live alone, so I need delivery service to be reliable and dependable. Clearly, Amazon Fresh is neither reliable nor dependable, which sucks.
Answer: I have never shipped or had things shipped to or from Australia. Sorry
Answer: This problem began when Amazon Market Place started up and when I saw how bad it was with sellers selling at 3 to 4 times the full retail price at other online stores, it was a hint for me to stop supporting Amazon Market Place. If its sold by Amazon, I might buy it but I do my utmost to find a lower price so I don't have to buy it from Amazon. More often than not Bestbuy or Staples has it for the same or lower price. Bought an Asus RT AC 5300 from Bestbuy for 500 Canadian and it doesn't sell for less at Amazon. Returns are no hassle 30 day returns and no shipping just take it to a local retail store and that saves the wrapping and shipping.
Answer: Yes I do on the items I purchase and also through google and sitejabber
Answer: It takes longer if you don't pay monthly for Amazon prime.
Answer: The shipping cost is in the listing if that's what you're asking. If you click on new/used, it will be below the cost. If you have Prime, most things are free shipping.
Answer: You answer on the actual question I believe.
Answer: The above answers are good - I agree that a personal contact on the phone is best. - Go to 'Your Account', then click 'Let Us Help You' -then click Help - Then 'need more help',- then click 'Contact Us' - fill out the 3 steps and choose 'more no norder questions, - then clock on phone - from there it will direct you (how long the wait etc and they call you back)
