I'm a tough one to please when it comes to online buying & selling, but Amazon deserves 5 stars. As a buyer: You're dealing with multiple sellers. Amazon is more like the watchdog. They hold the sellerz to high standards & it works out well. I've never had a problem with any orders. The prices are decent & the quality has always been as I expected. I buy often, especially at Christmas so it was worth it for me to buy the Prime membership. The bonus is that you get a LOT of free movies you can watch on TV (like Netflix), plus movies you can buy right from the TV. I've gotten several popular ones for $10-15.

As a seller: You have to keep in mind that they do take a commission & price accordingly. A little tip- don't price anything below $8. As long as you're honest in your description, taking pictures if needed, you'll be fine. They make it easy to have your item listed in 5 minutes. They even suggest a price range based on others that are listed. When we decided to down scale & got rid of a lot of stuff I was making $90 a day. A lot more than I would have gotten at a yard sale. I'm helping my brother in law get rid of his books. He has over 200, way more than I can store. With Amazon all I do is list them, & with one little checkmark I notify Amazon that I want them to take over. They have me print out a label & I box & ship them for them to handle. They store them, ship them, collect the money, handle any customer questions & notify me of what I've sold & my profit. The money is deposited right to my bank account. You can do this with anything you sell.

Amazon is ridiculous! If you just want to buy things every now and then, Amazon is fine, but if you would like to sell ANYTHING AT ALL this is NOT THE PLACE FOR YOU! If you are a seller, Amazon will use and abuse you time and time again. Amazon may close your account for absolutely no reason at all! The worst thing is that you will never be able to get anyone to help you get your selling privileges back and they don't care one bit. Lastly, if you don't ship items the way that they prefer (signature confirmation -of course Amazon never explained this to me in time, they waited until something bad happened in order to inform me), you will surely pay for it in the fact that none of your transactions will be covered AT ALL. I sold an item in AUGUST of 2015 and in FEBRUARY of 2016, they decided to claim they never received it (for those doing the math at home, that's SEVEN MONTHS AGO) and Amazon sided with them! I had all the proof I needed, but Amazon didn't care; they said it was insufficient and even though it was that long ago, it made no difference. Now I'm out $600 AND Amazon closed my account!

I have been a prime member for 2 years now. Never have had any issues. Had returns that were worry free and taken care of. I enjoy the Prime music and video along with my purchases and I'd say 90% ends up free shipping. I do compare with brand websites to check pricing and don't usually find a price hike for the Amazin Prime... just once in awhile and take the better deal. The price is alittle higher again this year so I hope they don't keep raising it yet for now all my free shipping is still worth it!

I started buying at Amazon a couple of years ago but it was not until Christmas that I decided to compare price and service. I end up buying all my presents from Amazon. The service, merchandize quality and delivery on time was perfect. But what really kills me ( ina great sense) is that once I look at an item they start sending me e mails with items in the same category plus deals. And I can't ignore Prime service. Now we can watch movies, listen to music and read books as prime members. Amazon you have all 5 stars for me.

When placing an order, If you don't already have "Amazon Prime" and don't want it they will automatically sign you up for it with a very sneaky trick where if you don't UN-CLICK the right button they'll CHARGE YOUR ACCOUNT $100 and automatically sign you up for the year. Also BE CAREFUL and make sure they DON'T CHARGE YOU TWICE FOR THE SAME ORDER. I honestly believe this is a very "scammy" way for them to squeeze a few extra dollars out of people. Especially those have a lot of money and don't realize they are getting duped. SO BUYER BEWARE, WATCH YOUR ORDERS AND CHARGES WHEN DEALING WITH THEM!

It's Amazon. It's awesome. I have ordered everything from wallpaper to a vintage childhood book I could not find anywhere, and it is on my doorstep in a matter of days. I love the community's product reviews since they are fair, super detailed, and plentiful. I ordered a very specific kind of chocolate as part of a Christmas gift, and even that had several reviews from people way smarter than me regarding the best recipes to use it in. The service and site are great.

At Amazon, you can get almost everything. Though sometimes it costs more, you have the benefit of not having to share credit card info with a lot of different people. They offer free shipping on orders over $35.00 and on many items, but you need to check the seller's policy too. They offer free returns, but not always. It takes time to shop this way, and is not the best way to shop for items, like shoes that need to fit right. It mostly meets my needs as a shut-in.
