Dissatisfied describes my past few experiences. Many of the products purchased are very difficult to try to return, if need be.
Wow, what a piece of trash this so called site has become. I just closed my 17+ year old account out of disgust.
My problem, the fake reviews, so called vine program, and tons of fake $#*! nonsense Amazon has going on. I got an email from at least one honest person at Amazon referring to"testing" certain accounts and voting features of "certain accounts". Which was part of my complaint.
Then after all of this started they started deleting some of my reviews without even telling me! Not letting me edit my reviews. Things got completely stupid with how they were manipulating my account, and maintained the ENTIRE time they were not.
I keep chuckling at one of my phone calls in the middle of this sh! Tshow. This guy kept saying, I'm going to hang up if you don't stop swearing. But I had not sworn. Normally my talk is peppered with extremely colorful language, to say it sweetly. So I very clearly am aware while talking to any support person about my language. F##king idiot.
Basically there is some major BS going on and when I directly called them out they continued to lie and tell me to clear my cache, and other insults to my intelligence, not to mention my email PROOF ACKNOWLEDGING they were doing something. I got nowhere with the BBB complaint. So I finally closed my very old account out of pure digust and frustration.
My advice, run every product URL through fakespot.com first before purchasing anything else! Will save some major headaches, but unfortunately not all. Good luck with these jokers and their "two day shipping". Which rarely is ever really two days. Amazon, go f##k yourself. I say that from a place of deep respect.

Amazon is like this huge online depot of goodness... I am addicted to online browse. You'll always find something very cool at Amazon at multiple prices. I have bought various products since 2012 and nothing has disappointed me.
If I need any book I always keep in my mind the Amazon. This is surely the greatest online book store. Sometimes it could be too high prices, but it's deservedly.

They got a great return policy and also hassle free which I like. Also Staples sells on Amazon and many more.

I tried prime services and I got my shipment so fast, but I am not a regular online shopper... so why do I have to pay for prime on a monthly basis? It should be free... then maybe I'll buy more because I'll know that I'll be getting my products fast

I have been an Amazon customer for years; along with millions of others. And there is a reason for this. My experiences have always been positive. I have a Kindle and purchase books all the time, along with music, videos, house stuff you name it. Customer service is a big deal for me and the few times I have contacted their customer service department my issue was always resolved in a speedy and professional manner. There are notcomplaints here. Love the Amazon site.
I really love Amazon and how they compare so many different businesses when sure you get the best products at the best prices. I also like the fact that they do have some quality used items if you want to save even further money and how they often have smaller companies, not just large corporations. My only complaint would be that sometimes the shipping cost will make the product of the little bit more money than buying it in the store but often you can get free shipping and The price comparison option is very valuable as well as the variety of products
I ordered a book from amazon. I good huge discount benefit from market price and also their service was very prompt.
OK, I am UK based so how effective Amazon marketing strategy in other places is I cannot comment but in the UK Amazon is first class. There is however conditions which has been fulfilled with any purchase from Amazon. Those conditions are:
1) I really want the item.
2) the item does have have variables such as size or colour.
Following this self imposed policy has meant that in the many years of dealing with Amazon, I have never had to return anything. Even with the third party suppliers the deliveries have always been prompt, well packed and as ordered with no billing issues.
May I also give another policy I use. The purchasing of goods is fraut with risks and dangers in a shop but if one thing goes wrong online I will not use that supplier again. So far Amazon has been a pleasure to deal with.
Great for certain products like books and movies. When I need the product to be legit and not seconds, grey materials, or something else, I buy elsewhere. This includes face products, electronics (especially this category unless it's Amazon's electronics), other key high end products.

I am switching to Walmart now because I ordered food from Amazon Fresh on 4 different occasions, and never received my groceries. Answer: This problem began when Amazon Market Place started up and when I saw how bad it was with sellers selling at 3 to 4 times the full retail price at other online stores, it was a hint for me to stop supporting Amazon Market Place. If its sold by Amazon, I might buy it but I do my utmost to find a lower price so I don't have to buy it from Amazon. More often than not Bestbuy or Staples has it for the same or lower price. Bought an Asus RT AC 5300 from Bestbuy for 500 Canadian and it doesn't sell for less at Amazon. Returns are no hassle 30 day returns and no shipping just take it to a local retail store and that saves the wrapping and shipping.
