I have been a Prime member now for several years and consider myself a bargain shopper so it pains me to pay any more for anything than I have to.
I have shopped on eBay, Overstock and quite a few others and not one of those sites can compare to the service, reliability and customer care that Amazon embodies. The business model Amazon follows should be the goal of the others including Overstock. Example, I just ordered a TV last week on Overstock that was a great price. I can't give you a review of it because it hasn't even shipped yet! If only Amazon would be more competitive with electronics. In a perfect world.
Amazon has a ton of third party retailers. In those cases, I find it cheaper to order directly from the manufacturer if possible. Also, they'll try to sneak a $100 'Prime Membership' charge on your account. Other than that, it's a great place to shop.
Although I live in Canada, I often choose amazon.com over. Ca because their is a better variety of products, and shipping is usually quite quick. The only drawback though is that some refuse to ship to Canada.
I did have one issue recently though... I ordered a coffee machine listed at $4.00 USD and free shipping. My credit card processed and I received a confirmation email but a day later, the sale was reversed without request and I can not get the product at that price now.
Best part of Amazon is they want their customers happy and thats the bottom line. Product not as advertised Amazon takes it back, but I have to say I am usually completely satisfied. The only company I would let everyone know to stay away from that advertises on Amazon is Madison Seating. They should be removed from Amazon as selecting defective products. Prime is a great deal for anyone that orders on line.
What I like about Amazon is their no question no fuss return policy! But, beware some of their retailer DO NOT have the same policy and it cost ME $25 to return boots I tried on. But that fly in the ointment was experience only and not normal. Buyer beware on that one, or better yet tryer-on be wear. Amazon is so cheap, I could have had two 18 inch by 24 feet culverts delivered to my home cheaper than a local supplier... GO FIGURE! How do they do it? No wonder retailers are closing. The customer is NEVER right there anymore. Not like in the 50's when the customer was ALWAYS right! GO AMAZON! VIVA LA AMAZON
Exactly what I wanted, and super fast. Sunday now counts towards deliverly which is great because you can now receive your purchases on days the mail doesnt ship.

Although they say that your shipment will be there in two days it usually takes longer, but they try to make it right if you speak with a supervisor.

I use Amazon for pretty much everything. Generally, it's less expensive than regular stores for everything from sporting goods to food. I love prime and the free shipping is unbeatable.
I'm an Amazon Prime member and an avid kindle reader. We buy products from Amazon nearly every week. Their website is probably the most efficient one I've used. Too bad ACA didn't contract with Amazon to manage traffic accurately. Their prices are okay and I use them for reference when buying anything and often end up buying from Amazon. The kindle support and available books at all prices (including free books) is outstanding. I'm a fan.
Two companies to beware of:
I purchased a product through EBAY from Hommee-fashion501
And decided to cancel within 10 to 15 minutes but the company refused
To cancel the order. Ebay said they would refund my money but I have not seen the refund yet or the product.
The second company is Canserin through Amazon. The product received is defective
And it took about 5 weeks to deliver, but the company wants me to send photos of the product and the package it came in before sending a replacement. And I would have to wait another 5 weeks.
I no longer have the option of sending pictures since uploading Safari on my Mac.
I contacted Amazon but all they can/will do is send an email to the company.
I believe both products are from China but Hommee-fashion501 has a California location. Not sure about Canserin's location.
I will no longer purchase anything from China or from either of these companies.
Nothing but good things to say. Selection, great prices, speedy processing and helpful follow-up service (although it's rarely needed). My go-to site for loads of things.
We enjoy Amazon. We watch Walking Dead on Amazon which is affordable & some other shows. We also have Amazon Prime with our package that allows us to receive deliveries in two days, which is very nice. We don't have to wait a week or more on most items we order online. Amazon is just a great service to have and we enjoy it. Small 1 time fee at the start of the year and your good to go. No month to month fees. Just a 1 time deal. Besides special shows like the Walking Dead but who doesn't like the Walking Dead. So it's worth the buy. Great Job Amazon. Keep up the good work.
I ordered a small $12 item through Amazon, from WE RTTR for an item from China. Placed order back in November 2016 with notice it should arrive by January 2017. When I went into Amazon.ca my account to try and cancel this order I never received, I was advised that WE RTTR is no longer affiliated with Amazon. Apparantly there is no way for Amazon to refund my, so I have have been ripped off because I trusted Amazon would stand behind their on line merchants. In future I will search with Amazon then see where I can buy it by a more trustworthy method.
Amazon, I just found out, had an Amazon seller that scammed me. Then the Amazon CSR rep said they would refund the money and to pick out another item and they would match the price of the original item... they even sent it in writing! The next day, another CSR said "Oh, sorry we cant do that"... But it was in writing by their own csr rep! Nope, still got screwed by #AmazonCSR and one of their sellers! Ebay is now safer than Amazon! #AmazonScrewsPeople

Answer: Try Walmart! They deliver food too, and they accept EBT as well. I am switching to Walmart now because I ordered food from Amazon Fresh on 4 different occasions, and never received my groceries. I am disabled and I live alone, so I need delivery service to be reliable and dependable. Clearly, Amazon Fresh is neither reliable nor dependable, which sucks.

Answer: This problem began when Amazon Market Place started up and when I saw how bad it was with sellers selling at 3 to 4 times the full retail price at other online stores, it was a hint for me to stop supporting Amazon Market Place. If its sold by Amazon, I might buy it but I do my utmost to find a lower price so I don't have to buy it from Amazon. More often than not Bestbuy or Staples has it for the same or lower price. Bought an Asus RT AC 5300 from Bestbuy for 500 Canadian and it doesn't sell for less at Amazon. Returns are no hassle 30 day returns and no shipping just take it to a local retail store and that saves the wrapping and shipping.
