I ordered some shirts for Christmas with a delivery date of December 12-15. Unfortunately I still do not have the items yet amazon has my money! This makes me very leery about using Amazon regardless of vendor if they dont do what they say they are going to do. At this point I am expecting a full refund and wondering how the refund process will go. If it takes more than a phone call to get the credit back on my credit card I for sure will not use amazon again. Is this what happens when you get too big?

As everyone knows, it is virtually impossible to avoid shopping at Amazon. I certainly would avoid it if I could though! I have placed at least 3 orders in the last 6 months that just never get delivered. Yes, they don't charge me for them. But they just don't deliver. What kind of website takes orders and just ignores them? I even bought the "Prime" membership to try to get my orders - but no such luck. I don't know what happened to Amazon - I guess it is the secondary suppliers - but they are TERRIBLE. I still have multiple orders from months and months ago that are unfulfilled. When I order something, I am NOT indifferent as to whether it gets delivered or not. I am usually counting on that product for some use.

I came to online purchasing late in life. I was very hesitant to put my credit card info out on the web. Plus I always preferred dealing with brick and mortar merchants. If I had an issue I could walk in to the store and resolve my problem. Who knew how online stores would handle customer service. Well Amazon quickly sold me on online purchasing. Both of my kids and most of my grandkids are in other states. Anyone who who has tried to ship anything knows that shipping costs are outrageous. So I tried making a few purchases from Amazon. I always bought enough to get free shipping. I didn't have Prime at first. The first time I had to contact customer service I was so pleased with outcome I decided to stay with them. I'll give you an example of Amazon's customer service. I was given a Kindle Fire as a gift. It was purchased from a Major Electronic Chain Store. Within the first couple of weeks I started having an issue with it. I phoned the Major Electronic Chain Store and spoke to one of their customer service people. I explained the issue to her, giving her the date of purchase and the fact that I did have the receipt. Her response was that I would have to bring it in and if it was something covered under the warranty they would look as t it. But if not then I was pretty much SOL. I had explained in detail to her what the issue was. It did not have anything to do with abuse of the Kindle. It had a clear operating issue. She just kept to the same not interested attitude. I told her to not worry about it. I would call Amazon. But that I would never set foot in her store again again. To this day I have not. I did call Amazon. I made it very clear that the Kindle had been purchased from this other very unhelpful store. They did not care. They sent me a shipping label to return it to Amazon and as shipped me a brand new Kindle. Every time I have ever had to phone Amazon's customer service they have gone above and beyond to make sure that whatever issue I am having is solved. I do have Prime now and I HIGHLY recommend it to everyone. I can spend over a hundred dollars shipping one box to my kids. So the cost of Prime is a bargain. Not only do I have free shipping all year, but free books, movies, and all kinds of other things. I love this company.

I've been shopping with Amazon for many years, and have recently become a Prime member. 99% of my shopping experiences have been positive, and the Prime pays for itself after a few orders! I trust Amazon supremely, and if one needs to contact customer service, they're the best!

This handy little box, plays the radio, turns lights on and off and can even control your TV if you live in the States using Broadlink.

Just say Alexa/Echo or Computer if your a trekie fan. I have mine set up to Echo.

And say Echo turn lounge light on to 80% and play radio 2 and it does both instantly, the dot is getting me re intelligent by the day, to go to sleep I say Echo play rainforest sounds or rain and sleep in 1 hour and it plays the sounds until you fall asleep and say Echo set alarm for 7am and it does it all... also can say add to shopping list and it adds it to your app on your phone and also set calendars. Its like a personal assistant... Ive only giving it a 4 star as sometimes it does not hear you or gets it wrong but is still getting better.

Superb customer service

Bought a refurbed phone that was supposed to be unlocked for my network. Amazon help me try to officially unlock it and when that failed, they guided me to purchase another one for the same price and return the unworking one at their cost. The 2nd phone arrived in similar condition and we were able to get it working, even though it was originally from another provider. I was very frustrated before and pleasantly surprised after!

Refund wreck

I recently called Amazon to request a refund of fees for a service for which I'd not contracted. Amazon's very cheery customer service assured me it was no problem. I then explained that I no longer used the credit card to which the fee was being charged, so could they refund it to my bank account or to another card?

As these words were issuing from my mouth, the happy-go-lucky customer service representative sent the refund to the card I no longer used. When I asked why he did not allow me to explain what I needed, he became less cheery.

Needless to say, the credit card company where I no longer had an account had little time for my request to resend the funds to Amazon -- and who can blame them?

A second email to Amazon produced a boilerplate response. You get a prepared message that has some peripheral relationship to your request, and it tells you to look at the FAQ or something like that.

A reply to this produced a response from a representative who seemed capable of logical reasoning. His reply, however, was grim: He explained that Amazon could do nothing, unless maybe the funds came back, and maybe not even then.

It is somewhat amazing: Amazon is reputed to have the best customer service in the world, but it appears to be fraying at the edges. Too many bots, and not enough representatives? Or is there little difference these days at this company? I recommend you to take great care with your dealings with this mastodontic mess.
