AHS has charged my credit card 3 charges and no one in billing could explain why. Today they said it is bills the previous homeowner did not pay. Fraud!

Lately, our fridge stopped working and it's been 40 days and it's not fixed yet. In the middle of the summer with kids at home, we have no milk (we have to buy day by day), no food, no cold water, juice. NOTHING! They has the technician come check it out, order the parts, took more than 2 weeks for the parts to find out that it did not fix the issue. Now 11 days later and they are still looking for parts! I asked to speak with a supervisor, 1 week and I get pushed around by supervisors that they are trying to get in touch with the technician and find a resolution! The biggest load of horse crap!

HORRIBLE

Don't use them very unhelpful as long as they get their money each month they won't help you when you need them. We had to pay out of pocket bc their vendor couldn't get back out until 4 days later (Texas is HOT) and it was there part that burned out. But we can't get reimbursed oh and their rep hung up on me and that's OK to deny my request for payment.

This compa is hit or miss.
BE AWARE (Administration fee) CANCELLATION $100
It can take them months to approve or deny you.
You will be just arguing with vendors and Customer Service.
Cheap work for sure. Real Technicians do not recommend.

AHS needs to better for their customers by sending timely and qualified contactors to service our homes. We have record humidity temperatures. You earliest appointment is next Tuesday when I called this Tuesday morning. No excuses. That's the reason we have a contract with you. To provide quick and reliable service to help us continue with our daily lives. It is an absolute shame that we pay monthly and a service fee before we even talk to a live representative. Once, I reach a live representative to state my claim of homeschooling my children in a hot home. You still offer the same service date. Do BETTER! You should be equipped to handle urgent and emergency cases. You should have multiple contactors on hand. Also, please hire companies that are professional only. I can call a neighbor to take a look at our A/C. STOP CHEATING US! DO BETTER!

They are TERRIBLE!

AHS is the absolute worst company with absolutely terrible CS. My mother was on hospice and attempting to work with them to fix her refrigerator. She passed away a month ago and her refrigerator is still not fixed or replaced. All she wanted was cold water and never got it from her refrigerator! Don't sign up with them! You have been warned!

AHS is the WORST!

They continue to lie about sending a reimbursement check. It's been 4 months and the check has still not arrived. I wasted way too much time dealing with them. I'm cutting my loses and giving up!
Don't ever buy a policy from this company!

Call to cancel my contract because they raise the service without my approval. They used call centers from the Philippines, terrible accents and would play transferring or holding you for 2 minutes but there's nobody on the other line. This company is a scam.
Waste of money. The most stupid decision I made.
Just call one for my broken washing machine and it' gives me so much stress. Please don't! Ever sign up in this trash company. Just save your hard earned money and take care of your property.

BEWARE!

BEWARE! I spent 45 min on the phone trying to cancel my contract with American Home Shield. They kept asking me why I wanted to cancel it and insisted so much on trying to change my mind. I was transferred to two people from Spanish to English and put on hold many times. I think they thought I wasn't bilingual and I wouldn't be able to cancel my contract. Please think twice before getting a contract with them. They even said to me that my contract was in auto-renew. I told them at least more than 20 times that I wanted to cancel the contract and they didn't even care about it.
For another contract that I had with them, I canceled it and verified it. I accessed my online account and it was renewed without my authorization. I just called them to cancel it again and they told me that the department of cancelations is not accepting phone calls so I'll spend another hour cancelling a contract that was cancelled already.

American home shield is the biggest scam in the planet. When you sign up with one plan you trust their customer service they give you the monthly payment and saying you're in a platinum plan but they are they're putting back to shield gold. I requested it to open. The conversation was recorded. There is no recording. If you have any other choice do not choose American home shield we have a three properties with American home shield and we're going to call and cancel.
They are sending their companies that diagnosing at the scene one thing and sending to the insurance completely different thing and American home shield calls and says does not cover benefits. The company was sent is Pro price heating and cooling LLC. We requested for a second opinion with a company we want it AHS keeps telling us they're sending it on the portal but the we wanted their portal is not working. AHS SCAM. AHS customer service going out of their way to insult the customers. No wonder they are in Philippine. My next step would be to file a complaint on BBA.

Waist of money

Our AC is not cooling like it should, they sent out a supposed Tech, came in a regular truck, we live in the country, looked at our AC outside told my son oh that is full of dirt and bugs and has spiders, it needs to be cleaned, said it was fine and that was breaker was just tripped on it, my dad checked the breaker and it was fine, told my son he doesnt do spiders and bugs and doesnt have the equipment to deal with that, wrote AHS recommended our outside unit be replaced bc of it having cobwebs, spiders and possible rodent issues, which is doesnt, it may have some spiders and bugs and be dirty b/c it is the country, so ASH denied doing anything with the AC b/c of what Mikes Clean Air LLC wrote and if IM going to pay you a fee and the person is just gonna come check the freon and say there are too many bugs and he doesnt deal with bugs ect and they unit needs to sprayed off and told AHS he would not look or work on it b/c of that then why do I even pay for coverage, I requested a refund b/c basically nothing was done and my AC still is not working my home is still almost 80degrees and they refused the refund and refused to do anything and denied to anything b/c of the what the tech wrote about it having "bugs and pests" and that isnt normal wear and tear...SO high dissatisfied!

Complete scam of a company. Given them too many chances, cancelling my policy with them. They came out to fix my dishwasher, it had a leak, they went to order a part, came back and saw the leak had caused other damage. Denied any fix for me because appraently I damaged the dishwasher myself. Go figure, I love breaking my own appliances that are non-operational while im waiting for it to be fixed. Hate this company with every ounce of my soul. Nobody speaks english there and they dont give a $#*! about you or their legal obligation to you

American Home Shield
We called to report our HVAC system was not working on 7.4.23. Cool Factory was dispatched on 7.6.23. The technician added freon to a system with a suspected leak. He also stated that the system was old and needed to be replaced. He said that he would put that in his report but did not do it. Adding freon to a leaky unit is not recommended by most reputable technicians. He did not check for other problems in a 29 year old system. It worked for a few days and failed again on 7.14.23 and Cool Factory was dispatched again to fix the problem. The same technician arrived on 7.18.23 against my request. He began checking with Mrs. Pharr observing him. He again stated that the system was old and needed replacement. She started recording because of her lack of knowledge of what he was doing. She informed him that was only for her records for future reference. He became agitated, reported this to his company and left without completing any type of diagnosis.
The next company to come out was United Air Temp. Their tech did a thorough inspection and stated the damage was due to a power surge. If this was true, it would have been visible to the first tech and he would not be able to charge the system because it wouldn't run. He turned in his report and AHS denied our claim.
We protested and AHS sent out a third technician from NOVA HVAC to diagnose. He saw that the compressor was locked up due to age and reported the system should be replaced.
AHS only offered us only a $500 trade in credit and a minimal discounted HVAC purchase price. This is far from their ads stating they will replace if it can't be repaired.
We're 20 year customers of this company and need to report them for their misleading ads and for ripping off their customers. There commercials state repair or replace if not repairable with no listed disclaimers visible.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AS IT'S A RIPOFF!

Horrible Service

It's been 3 weeks since I called for my toilet to be replaced and still haven't gotten done yet. This is very frustrating and I'm not renewing my membership. They really sucks.

Can I give then negative stars? I have had stalkers and scammers give me less trouble than this company! I researched them and decided against using them, but they will not leave me alone. I get at least one call a day every single day from American Home Shield, from different numbers...just like a professional scam artist. I cannot block them all. They get through and leave me voice mail messages. I have called them to request that they stop calling me. It is almost impossible to wade through the auto phone system and when I do get through they tell me they need to put me on hold and get someone who can help me with that...and then leave me there without ever coming back. I left the hold going all night long one day. I have also changed my voice mail message to specifically address American Home Shield representatives, asking them to please stop calling me. Telling them I am on the National Do not call list, they are in violation by continuing to call, I will report them every time they call, remove me from the contact list. Still calling every day. Seriously, how does this company have a good BBB rating? Everything about them screams SCAM. DO not use them. Do not contact them. Warn your friends. Warn your realtors - mine actually recommended them! This company is in the business of harassment. Pay them $1500 and they will stop calling you for 6-12 months until they want your money again.

The Ac issue started by June 3th and requested to repair. Technician came and fixed it but the next day it didn't work. I called a few times the technician and AHS to follow up. Then he came by June 9th and turned the AC off and said it should be replaced. He said that AHS should contact you about this. I was waiting a few days for AHS to contact me but they didn't. Finally I called them and they said technician didn't said the estimate to us yet. To keep it short I called the technician and AHS multiple times. Finally they sent an email to me on June 27th and said the estimate is in the process and will order the part. I called them every day to follow up with the process and they said everything is in order but on July3th, they said the technician estimate was not complete and they asked for another estimate. Just like before I called them every day to follow up the process and finally on July 10 they said that ordered the part and it will arrive on July 17th. Since July 17 I called them twice a day and they said the technician is supposed to pick up the parts. Every time I called AHS they left me on hold and they spoke with technician and he's going to pick it up. Also they said that emailed to technician as well. Finally yesterday AHS told me they ordered the wrong part and they should order again. This morning I talked with AHS supervisor and he said they have to reorder the parts because it was wrong the first time but they couldn't give me an exact time when the order will arrive and the problem will be fix. Finally on July 20 they said that reordered the part. As usual after few days that the part should be delivered the AHS said they ordered incorrect parts again. Is it makes sense that again ordered incorrect parts? Still I'm waiting for their update.This is the whole story with AHS. This is the reason why I said AHS is horrible company. It has been almost 50 days we have been without air conditioning in the warmest time of the year.

I signed up a contract with AHS in 2022. Requested a service when the dishwasher was not working in April 2022. AHS sent (after 4 days) someone from NATIONAL PLATINUM SERVICE INC. The servicemen did not even speak nor understand English and was not able to fix the problem, let alone even diagnose the issue. I had ro call my handyman and he fixed it in 15 mins -- it was just a lose connection - landed of paying the handyman $150. I reported this to AHS and asked them to refund the service charge and they declined after several attempts. I requested them to cancel the contract but instead decided to increase the fee by 15% and continued to charge my credit card. The contract is still not cancelled and they continue to hold on to it even without my consent!

Think before you sign-up for AHS - look for other options. Most of the testimony seem to be paid and they seem to have lost the trust and commitment to service the customers.

Nothing is covered
July 14, 2023

I have had 4 requests so far and none have been covered because it's "not normal wear". They said the problem with my A/C was due to high heat, so it wasn't covered. They said I never cleaned my A/C and when I provided them the invoice from the cleaning, they said that didn't matter because it was the opinion of the company they sent that I had never cleaned it.

They will just slime out of everything. Save your money and put it toward any fixes you need. Don't waste on these guys.
