I purchased a home warranty on a property that i was not sure if i was going to keep after 6 months i sold the property and was charged a fee i was told that i was in a one year contract even though i specifically asked for monthly plan then i was told that if you cancel you have to pay a fee regardless of how you make your payments completely different than what i was told verbally.

American home shield had a vendor come out to look at leaking pipe 3-21-2023 and I have not received a response from vendor and it is now 5-4-2023 The vendor came out and I have not been able to get a hold of vendor to fix problem in the last month. Called american home shield and they just say it has been escalated and wait 24-48 for the last two weeks. They have told me I just have to wait. This is not the service I have paid for.
I am still experiencing the problem. I call everyday now and get the same response we will get you a response in 24-48 hours. I have not gotten a response in 2.5 weeks since i have been calling to check to see what is going on. All they say is problem has been escalated and that is all we can do. I call the vendor everyday and no response, then I call American home shield and they go through the same routine the parts have been ordered. Then I have to tell them I know they are supposed to be ordered, but are they really i cannot get a hold of vendor to see what is going on. Then after I tell them that then call the vendor and say the vendor will not answer and we will send an email to vendor. So I will call back the next day and have same result. I have been hung up on by the call center when asking what is the resolution after 2 weeks of non communication for vendor. I will call again today and I promise it will be the same result. The last few times I call first then i go to the chat on AHS homeshield to try to get a response another way, but same result. The crazy thing is AHS still is debiting money out of my account while I am not receiving service.

We have been a customer with AHS for many years. I have been very unhappy with their services for a while. Contacting a service request on the phone is a nightmare. Decided to cancel. It took over 20 minutes to cancel and the women was so rude. I wanted to take the survey but she would not disconnect the phone. She told me that I would not let her talk. I said I want is to cancel and she telling me I would come back. I would not recommend this company based on this one person I had to deal with. AHS needs to train their employees better. There is not need keep trying to get my business when I was clear that I wanted to cancel. Also. They will continue to send out repair after repair to try and fix the problem. Took months to get my washing machine working. They claim they will replace an item but they will not. We ended up purchasing a new machine on our own because they wanted was to continue to put a patch on the problem. I would never recommend AHS to anyone.

At one time AHS was a good company that provided good service. AHS contracted with reliable companies that responded quickly and were able to fix problems. The past 3 service requests were a different story. The service company never called or set up appointments, and never showed up. The service representatives do not speak English and cannot help when there are problems. When I wanted to cancel my contract with them, they could not even give me the time to call someone that might be able to help me.

Complete JOKE
April 26, 2023

We opened a service claim on our microwave on March 17, service tech came out and our Samsung microwave was junk and it was the door that has the motherboard that was defective. I was told it would take 10-15 weeks to get the door in, or we could take a $200 settlement to replace it. The microwave was $700 two years ago, granted it should have lasted longer than 2 yrs but this is why we have a home warranty. Surprise the part came early! BTW it was the wrong color and it didn't fix the damn problem. They had to order more parts and the correct color of the door. After calling and $#*!ing three times I demanded they refund my $100 deductible. They finally agreed, I still have no working microwave nor have my refund, but they did charge my card for the monthly fee. My recommendation is to find a different home warranty company. If you are buying a house and the seller is putting a year warranty on the house demand a different company... Do not use or let them use AHS!

I was told during my time with AHS that services would be covered and charged a $100 service fee only to have them not be covered. I was told that I would recieve services for free only for them to then try to charge me. I spoke with various costomer service reps numerous times every time there was an issue only to be given the run around. I decided after 11 months with the company to cancel my service and had to speak with 5 reps who would not cancel my policy eventually to be told that I would be charged a cancelation fee WHICH THEY DO NOT TELL YOU ABOUT WHEN YOU SIGN UP FOR YOUR POLICY. Yes you can cancel at any time like they DO TELL YOU however there is a fee. They are VERY shady about what issues they do cover and their reps ARE NOT KNOWLEDGEABLE and generally do not seem very willing to help when there is an issue.

I don't usually leave reviews, so this is a testament to how affected I am by my experience with AHS. I have been trying to work with AHS for over six months for someone to fix or replace my refrigerator. SIX MONTHS! The tech told me not to use it. Ummmm... okay, so where do I store my food? I call AHS roughly once a week for an update. The tech notes say that the parts are unavailable; still, AHS will not replace my fridge. Even with those notes, AHS sends a tech back to my house to re-evaluate because maybe, miraculously, my fridge will correct itself and regenerate parts. This is unacceptable. I'm out AHS.

We have used AHS for a while, and almost every experience has been the same. We requested service two weeks ago for a leaking dishwasher. The company contracted with American Home Shield contacted me three days later and advised me they didn't have an appointment time for two weeks. I advised of the urgency, and I was told that was the only option available. I contacted American home shield for alternatives none of them could help us any sooner. In the meantime, multiple cabinets have been completely saturated with water and are no longer usable. I saturate multiple beach towels daily, Trying to keep up with the water leaking. We were told. We were told why don't you turn off the water? Well, our dishwasher piping is welded into the water supply for the kitchen, so wholly shutting it off is not a good option. I have called nine times, requesting service, and was advised that I have to wait as they have no other contracted providers. I called multiple providers around town and was told they could send someone out today, but AHS said if I hired someone else, I would not be reimbursed. In addition, I was told that I would not receive a refund of my $75 fee if I hired my own company. So for anyone debating purchasing a home appliance warranty, don't expect prompt service or quality if you use AHS. The salespeople will tell you whatever you want to hear when trying to sell you the contract. So now we wait with five cabinets unusable, utterly saturated with water, waiting for someone to fix it.

HORRIBLE COMPANY!
April 13, 2023

All I wanted to do was cancel my policy because the rates keep going up and the coverage is less each year. Trying to get that done and being transferring a thousand times is incredibly frustrating and at the end of the call, I still have to call back in a month because they can't cancel a month in advance. The hard sell was ridiculous, I asked her 5 times to just cancel my policy, WOOOOOWWWWWWWWWW. If I could give this company a -******* I would.

RIPPED OFF BY LIES
April 4, 2023

I had a 2-year premium policy for a new house I purchased. The second year the A/C started leaking water. Called AHS and paid fee - first tech explained that the leak was from an INTERNAL DRAIN PAN and accused me of abuse! No one ever could explain how I could "abuse" and internal component - and they denied the claim. I protested and the second tech claimed that it was negligence and lack of maintenance. Once again, no one could explain how a homeowner is supposed to 'maintain' an internal component THAT REQUIRES DISASSEMBLY TO GET TO IT - thus voiding any potential warranty it might have. They MANUFACTURED LIES AND ACCUSATIONS TO AVOID REPAIR OR PAYMENT - TOTAL RIPOFF - DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!

Don't bother

One call for plumbing issues. Another call months later for electrical issues. Out $85 each time, and that's it. Don't bother with this scam.

This shady company is the worst of the worst. They take your money and then research ways they can deny any claim you give them. They lie to your face, repeatedly. Then have the audacity to tell you there's nothing they can do. They know they are enraging you so when you respond telling them this is bs they actually give you a warning, this actually made me laugh. But after we cancelled the contract because they are useless, I told them I'll give myself a warning, and to go f*ck themselves. Don't ever use them.

Horrible bunch of crooks. Lie after lie when you need a repair. They keep telling me my case is expedited but nothing ever comes of it. It's been over 24 hours and still no assigned tech. Put your money in an emergency bank account in case you need a repair. I've spent over $1000 on my plan and the very first time I need to use it, they fail miserably.

I have a contract with American Home Shield, it was $36.66/month at first, but they increased it to $45.99/month without notice. After more than a year, I open a case for a pipe leak. They charged me $100, but the technician never showed up. I am calling them for the last 7 days, with no result.

This is a waste of money and time. This company looks like a call center, that they send your service request to other companies. They will not take responsibility to any issue and the other company is asking to call the company that you have a contract.

23 year customer on Gold plan can't get warranty coverage for a Hot Water Heater. The SWAT plumber claimed that code requires all parts to be replaced. Warranty covers the heater & all parts. SWAT plumbing says pay us $2,300 and we'll replace it. AHS says the heater & all parts aren't covered, won't allow me to speak to a supervisor & Escalated the request promising a call back in 24 hrs.
3. WATER HEATER (Gas, Electric, or Oil)
COVERED: All components and parts, including circulating pumps, except:
NOT COVERED: Solar water heaters - Solar components – Ancillary holding or storage tanks - Noise - Fuel storage tank and energy

Do not get scammed by this company. I had many properties on AHS. The customer service is terrible and they send bad suppliers to service. They go with the cheapest. Many of the reps do not understand English and they trap you with cancellation fees as well as do not elevate to someone that will respond to you. Been trying to get resolution for 4 months to no avail and finally just cancelled all properties. They charged my card today for a monthly charge today and said the fee would not be refunded. Thye also charged and early cancellation fee. On line insurance is hard to ssue but I am going to try as the plumber I brought out fix exactly what we said was the problem quickly but it cost me alot out of poscket that should have been covered if the company sent a skilled plumber. Lots of complaints on this company. Run from them!

Beware. They have sent two very unprofessional service providers who were inept and had bad reviews by customers. The latest issue is they are rejecting a ticket for hose bib replace while contract states in no uncertain terms that it is a covered item. We have spent weeks in the phone with different reps pointing to the page and line of our contract that states the item is covered. They continue saying it is not covered but cannot refer us to any page or line of our contract that substantiates that determination. The latest rep. Onto tally interrupted my husband mid sentence for a half an hour, during our dinner. He was not able to ever finish a sentence and she continued interrupting even after we asked her to stop cutting him off. Where do they find such a rude workforce to mistreat their customers during dinner time?! There must be better home warranty companies out there.

We have been a customer for AHS for quite a few years. Now we can not believer there is such a big gap in communication between ahs and their service providers. We had a bathroom faucet and valve water leak on January 12,2023. Called and paid for the service fee $125 right away. The service provider plumber's inc came and said he will need to talk to ahs. After a few days still nothing, we called AHS, they said they will call service provider, then nothing ever heard. We called again and again, were always told they are waiting for service provider's response while our water leak was still going on. Finally after more than a month's waiting, I told them I do not feel any use to have their warranty service while all we could do is to wait and get a big water bill, they had to assigned another service provider, but marked their previous service as completed, that is a total lie, because the same water leak was never fixed. And now we are being told to wait again by this new service provider as they are saying they need to tell AHS so they can order the faucet. Another endless waiting as the leak has been going on for more than 2 months already. I have to wonder what's the use to have a home warranty with ahs?
