Awful and they lie

My advice: find another company. You book with a central office. They hand the job to a local franchisee. When you have a problem, as we did, you will find Customer Service non-existent. Ditto the local franchisee. When I booked them for a removal job at my late brother's Manhattan apartment I listed all items to be removed. When the truck arrived it as already 2/3 full and the guy told me they wouldn't be able to take everything and I needed to make another appointment. This meant another trip to the city, another week of paying rent in the apartment because of what they called a "miscommunication" between the booker and the franchisee. When we complained to the company, one of their bookers told my husband they'd give us 20% off on the second date. We deducted that amount from our American Express bill, filed a dispute with them and paid our bill minus $127.1-880 got junk has lied every step of the way including them telling Amex that the 20% was never "promised." One lie after another. Their men damaged the elevator door and the apartment door and then lied about it. 1-800-got junk wanted "proof" that their workers had done the damage. They are not a reputable company, tho they are adept at lying. I would never recommend them. Any company is fine if you don't have a problem. Since there are often problems, this is not a company you want to use---ever!

More like 1-800 get ripped off. Poor service from 800 got junk. Has anyone received poor service from 800 Got Junk. My neighbor just had them over to remove a wooden dog house (heavily built) and a good working freezer. She was quoted $300 to do it. She had other items to remove but it was more money. They dismantled the dog house which had an asphalt roofing on it and then left after about 45 min. They did not haul off the roofing material nor give her a reason as to why? Should have been all part of the job. They left a mess in the driveway. After I myself called them to complain, they said that it would be taken care of and would return a call to me. No return call, but they did come back and swept the driveway BUT DID NOT REMOVE THE ROOFING MATERIAL! They did not explain to her as why not, as it should have been part of the job. As far as Im concerned she as a single lady was ripped off and unfortunately she payed them in cash

Thanks so much for making my junk pick-up so easy. When I made the appointment to pick up my broken microwave, I was told that it would be picked up on a Saturday between 9-11 AM and I would be called 15 minutes before they arrived, which is exactly what happened. The 2 fellows were very pleasant and professional and the price was more than reasonable. They took the microwave immediately. The whole transaction took less than 10 minutes. I am more than pleased!

Rip Off!

Great commercials... so I called... I am moving my office and had 15 chairs and a desk to get rid of... the person who booked the appt on the fone explained that they had a huge truck and services ranged from abot 200 dollars at a minimum and close to 1000 dollars for a full truck. He estimated that 15 chairs and a desk should be about 350 dollars. 2 guys came and one of them gave us an attitude and didnt know if he could fit everything even though we told them exactly what to expect. The truck was not huge... the size of a small dump truck... they gave the bldg superintendent a hard time... and the charged 850 dollars... it was a very unpleasant experience... charged us over twice what we were expecting...
Icalled customer srvice... they didnt even say i am sry and said someone would contact me within 48 hours... of course i never heard back
I have 2 words of advice... STAY AWAY!

They came to haul off 42-inch flat screen that I placed on porch. Service was great, but they had quoted me $179 and agreed to take off $10 for a promo code I found on the internet. After they arrived they told me there was a surcharge due to the tv being over 32 inches which brought the total to $194 rather than the $169 I was told. They should have told me about the surcharge when giving me the quote. I used them to haul several furniture items a few years ago and that went well.

WAY too expensive

My family and I moved from a townhouse to another one. We had some junk left over at our old place, so we called these guys. 1) After giving us a timeframe of 11:30 - 1:30, they showed up at 2:45, wasting my wife's day. Plus, they never called to update her on when they would be there and when my wife called, they couldn't confirm anything because they couldn't get a hold of the truck. 2) Everything we had was either in a box or a garbage bag in the garage. They charged us $341.10 to take out no more than a dozen small boxes and a dozen garbage bags (look at the picture) - took them all of 30 minutes! Ridiculously expensive - the definition of a rip-off!

Item was removed successfully. However, when I asked the young men to bring down a chair from my bedroom they agreed(I gave them each an extra $20). Unfortunately most of my family jewelry has been missing since that visit and no one else has been here. I did not follow them upstairs due to a recent hip replacement. I trusted them, my error... my grand children will never have these keepsakes. Maybe the founder of this company should be more fastidious in hiring.

We had 1800got junk take away junk that I needed to remove. From the beginning when I called,
The person that I spoke to was friendly. The two gentlemen that came today called and said what time they were coming. They arrived right on time. They were friendly and efficient. I would give them and your company a 10 out of 10. This is the 2nd time we have used their service. The pricing was really reasonable. If you need junk removed 1800gotjunk is the company to use

Service came as expected / movers polite, however I recd a call from the Condo association and was told about wall damage and complaints from other tenants that they were reckless while moving 3 large items and a few bags of stuff. I now have 900 $ PLUS BILL FOR REPAIRS and although ive made a claim i can't get an answer from the CS department. PAID 600 $ PLUS TIP, as i wrongly assumed they had done the job professionally one the move down. Nice kids but not experienced movers. Looking back now i should have known they came up with only a trolley no ropes or blankets... they also did not use the service elevator as i mentioned to them hence the complaints from the tenants. I have security camera video and pictures showing their recklessness. Mostly upset about the lack of customer service. I will delete this if they resolve the matter by paying the bill and compensating me for my wasted day of work...

Bugs supposedly

Scratched the hardwood floors. Then instead of coming clean and saying they did they gave a story that we had bugs in the furniture. Poor customer service. Would never Recommend for any services

I never had used a removal company so had no idea what to expect.
Problem #1 ~ first scheduler dated p/u date wrong; happy I had checked it in my email. Okay, errors can happen.
Problem #2 ~ called to correct, second scheduler had me waiting at least 10 minutes while she updated. Said she would send updated email. She did not. Again, happy I double checked it.
The third call was answered by a manager, and set it right.
Problem #3 ~ received a call from driver? / scheduler? ON THE MORNING SCHEDULED FOR PICK UP SAYING THEY WERE NOT PICKING UP THAT DAY! Had to immediately reschedule all other professionals working that week.
Unacceptable!
Problem #4 ~ Not one of those 3 employees scheduling the order disclosed the extra fee for a mattress / box spring set although all were told exactly the few items I had to move.
Which were:
King mattress and box spring ~ no frame
About 50 hangers ~ empty
Less than 10 cardboard boxes no bigger than 25"x25"x10 with some clothing / miscellaneous items, nothing very heavy
A swivel desk chair
So when the delivery guys (very nice/polite/professional) said it's $350.00,
(seemed a bit high as there was not much to haul out, and with only a few stairs, they weren't there more than 45 minutes, but like I wrote, I never used such a service) PLUS! ~ an extra $70.00 for mattress / $70.00 for box spring, it felt like a ~ SCAM. I was stuck; stuff had to get moved out asap. So I agreed to have them haul.
Dissatisfied with this overcharge, I called and left a message with a supervisor, I believe her name was Heidi. She returned my call within 24 hours! Wow! She apologized and admitted that I should have been told about the extra fee for mattress / box spring removal. I was refunded $150.00 within a month. Heidi, thank you for admitting the lack of transparency, and the refund.
So you can see why stars were deducted with all of the problems with my experience.
This was in Rhode Island.

I received a quote of around $200 for removal of two items. They get here and the price came was almost double. I was very accurate with my description, giving them precise dimensions. I called a company on Craigslist and they are removing my two items for $100. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!

Was quoted a price on the phone of $150-$200 dollars for junk removal. Company gets here and wants to charge almost $500 dollars. The crew was very rude. I would not recommend anyone use this company.

Scam

1-800 got junk is horrible, overpriced and a scam. They charged me more money to get rid of my garbage then the movers that moved my good stuff did. The movers packed all my stuff wrapped all my stuff made two stops and set my stuff up for less money than 1 800 got junk charge to take my junk away. Not to mention they probably made two to $300 selling my my good items that I was getting rid of. So they show up at my apartment knowing that they're charging me for volume of truck used and they showed up with junk already in their truck. Then had to make another trip how do I know they couldn't fit all my stuff in there if their truck was empty and charge me for one truck, instead of what they charged me. Scam scam scam.
