Up, down, sideways... if you read the reviews of this seller, it's gonna be all over the board. First, a lot of people are chronic returners. You piss me off, 'cuz you make product more expensive for the rest of us! Second, this company communicates primarily through the chat box on their site. Don't do it any other way if you can help it. You'll get the fastest help and best attention this way. Third, don't buy stuff you're not enthusiastic about in the first place. The majority of complaints is because the buyers who've complained on this site didn't do due diligence before they bought, and then got all $#*!y afterward instead of using a little patient politeness. My experience has been awesome, the product better than described (blem), and the shipping quick. But then again, I read everything, did my research, and knew ahead of time who and how I'd communicate if there were problems. If you want a seamless, unthinking experience, go elsewhere, and pay more.
They must be dealing with factory rejects or something... ordered an Ibanez guitar from them and it arrived on time... the neck was unplayable... called the hotline and they sent a return label. Returned it and the replacement arrived today... the neck pick up is defective. Called the hotline for a refund... will never shop there again. Too much hassle for a brand new instrument.

I can't believe I've just been "lucky" with my purchases, but I've had a great experience with this company. They are responsible for getting me interested again in guitars again, and playing, due to their very easy payment program. I like the $1,000 and up guitar price point, and would probably not have bought any of them if I had to pay the full amount upfront. Their 12 payment plan with no interest or Sales Tax charged, makes it a "no brainer." I'm really not sure how they do it, because the same guitars at Guitar Center are exactly the same price, and have in my case, 8% percent Sales Tax added. Also, Guitar Center has no zero percent financing period. So why would I buy from them, when I can go through ZZounds. I've bought 7 new guitars from them and all have arrived promptly and without any issues. It looks to me that the bad reviews have been mostly due to the customer either giving a bad address to ship to, or wanting to return something due to changing their mind. I wouldn't buy something just to "try out," even though you can. In my mind that's abusing the system. I feel like the consistency in guitar manufacturing at this point in time, makes the feel and sound to be very close over the same model. I know that many dispute that, and if you do, you don't need to be buying with mail order.
Ordered a bag that was 2ft x4ft sent me a bag that was 2 foot by 3 inches deep. Really then said for me to pay return shipping. When I ordered item in cart was right dementions when I added to cart changed. To where there was no size on order so could not see if it was right price was the same. Also it said it was the last item. Ordered. So they just sent something because they sold out of the item I ordered. Why else send something I did not order at all Bad customer service. Do not order from them. Bad service
Charged me twice for the single item I purchased, after the tedious process of fixing their screw up 45 days later they charged me again. Literally went into my account and took money unauthorized. LAWYER TIME
I purchased a few very high priced items from Zzounds. The last purchase I made I put into their payment installments. I missed one payment and they debited my checking account every day until they got the payment. When I called to explain that I would pay 2 payments the next month, if possible, situation, person who answered, who happened to be a really nasty bastard (no joke, I do not like to say that about someone unless its true but this was just beyond belief). He laughed at me and said he would make sure it continued to happen then would ask if there was anything else I needed. WTF! Since they debited my account every day for a month, the fees I had to pay my bank amounted to much much MUCH more than the payment. In fact, it was over $1000. I could not believe it. Eventually, about a year later, the man was "fired" and they forgave the entire debt we owed, but it did not save me anything, it cost me much more with the fees the bank put on. These guy DO NOT GIVE A F@$%!
I ordered a Taylor classical guitar through zZounds. Within several weeks the tuning peg assembly started pulling away from the neck. When I reported this defect, the company stated that 45 days had passed so there was nothing it would. Avoid this seller.
They charged me twice for the same product, now I must brawl to get my money back. I've better things to do with my time. They have been banned!
Through using the financing service for Zzounds, I was able to provide my husband with an expensive guitar for his 50th birthday. This guitar was something he has wanted all his life and something I knew I could not pay for outright with cash. After 12 months, the guitar was paid off and my husband was totally surprised, happy and satisfied.
I would not have been able to provide this wonderful experience without the financing service of Zzounds. The transaction was incredibly smooth and I highly recommend this company.

I ordered 2 TRS cable and they didn't had in stock and they said it will be shipped when it's available. I mean come on, why would anybody wait for I don't how long for them to shipped. Plus they said they don't charge you until the item is been shipped but they already charged and I cancelled my order and later I got my money back. I am not buying anything from zZounds in the future.
One of the best sites for purchasing the best musical equiptment. Great selection and great prices. They have a variety of items in stock and will price match. They provide very detailed and informational descriptions of their products via pictures and videos so you have a clear understanding of what you are getting. Excellent return policy. One of the best things offered by this site is there pay as you play plan which is something that I can guarentee has not been offered by any other site like this. That is truly a unique and wonderful thing about Zzounds. Customer service is excellent but if you contact them via phone expect long wait calls. The only negative experience I had was that they did not post a payment I had made but I was able to correct the problem easily.

We got our son's drumset from here and my midget's bass... both shipped UNBELIEVABLY fast. Seriously, we got the drumset in 2 days and the bass in 3 (it was ordered on a weekend). Their pay as you play plan was super easy to use and the best way to rock while on a budget.
The customer service was great. Their drum experts took the time to hold my hand, in essence, when it came to picking out our son's drum set (computers and electronics mom knows, drums not so much), and with their guidence Tynan got the perfect drumset (Gretsch five piece with cymbals) that will grow with him for nearly 50% off. When the guy at guitar center found out what set the 6 yr old was playing on, he thought we were kidding since it's such a nice, expensive set.
Since the drum experience was so great I got my husband's Bad Bad Girlfriend from there (Schecter Stiletto Studio-5 Bass) with a case. They matched the price of the competition without question. We were able to get the matching case and bass for less than the bass alone was on sale at the other sites.

Answer: You can't start out buying a $2K guitar with bad credit. Buy a lesser model and pay it out over 4 months. I've never been turned down and have bought about $9K in guitars from them, with poor credit.
Answer: I don't know who wrote the Experian lie. From what I'm gathering from "reviews", Zzounds has/is in the middle of an outright, SMEAR CAMPAIGN. They have no "hidden agenda." They, from my end, having ordered many times and always on a payment plan, have never sent me an, after the fact, email or an indiscriminate document I supposedly signed w/o reading about interest payments are to be paid immediately upon receipt of email. You don't sign anything. You make your first, slightly higher payment that covers processing. It's prudent and wise to vet claims that just sound too good to be true, they are legitimate from this site, irregardless of the one trusted advisor who might know a lot on the subject but clearly, not everything. It's termed, "in house" credit which mean, the company itself is showing faith in you even w/o knowing or even wanting to know, your score. If you don't pay, they eat it or, depending on the amount, it becomes a civil matter It's kinda sweet when you consider (and you have) how much fraud you have, especially on the web. In the past there were many more businesses willing to trust you at your word. Because more people felt like Scarface did about the two things, he don't break for no one. Zzounds is the REAL Musicians Friend.

Answer: You can't use a prepaid card with zZounds. They require a bank issued debit card or a credit card. So long as you use your bank issued debit card that is linked to your checking account, you will not be charged interest. Or, use your credit card and pay it off to avoid interest. Your claim that zZounds is lying about charging interest is untrue. They don't charge interest at all. If you choose to not pay off your credit card balance and let interest build, that is completely your decision and not zZounds. Hope this helps answer your concern. I buy everything from zZounds on payment plans, never been charged interest as I use my bank issued debit card. :)
Answer: If you have a higher priced guitar, like say a Gibson Les Paul Standard, it may take up to 4 days, as they have to find the exact serial number you selected, rather than just ship the next one. Normally, lower priced guitars take 2 days maximum, based on my experience
