Zzounds are excellent with the billing, but poor service after they got your money.
We ordered equipment in thousands of dollars. Got it. After a few weeks, one amplifier died (it happens). I emailed their service department. Two days later I'm getting a response "please call us" (already 3rd world country service). I called. I gave the guy the order number. He asked for me to explain the problem. I mentioned that I sent an email with all the details, and he said that "he doesn't have access to the service email" (what?).
After a long call, I was told that I'll get a return label and I'll need to send the item back. Two days later, no return label. Had to contact them for the 3rd time (1st time an email, 2nd time a phone call, 3rd time a phone call). Slim chance that the issue will be resolved in 3 attempts... poor service. There are many good alternatives to this website.

Bait and switch

Unbelievably poor experience. Just cancelled after ordering a Nord piano 5 on Wednesday planning for a Thursday (overnight) delivery, as promised when ordered, yet they can't even confirm a Friday delivery. Wow. Only ordered from here for the next day delivery. I can get undetermined delivery from anywhere. SUCKS

It's my first time ordering through zZounds and my experience was very positive. Ordered an Epiphone Casino Olive Drab. The chat room response was immediate, practically anytime within the chat room hours. The discounts are given right in the chat room. The zZounds rep is not pushy. He provided the discounted link cart and it's up to you if you want to check out the item or not. Some other sites would not give the discounted price if it's not guaranteed that you would order from them. Not with zZounds. The chat room reps are respectful and accommodating. I was assured that I will get a factory sealed product and that's what I got! Ordered close to around 5 PM and they still shipped my guitar the same day! Awesome job zZounds!

I recently purchased a line 6 spider V. Was very excited. Needed a combo amp for practice and studio work. The amp came and wasn't functional. The only thing that worked was the tuner. Absolutely no sound so I messaged them and wanted to exchange it for something else. I wasn't asking for an expensive amp I was asking for fair compensation for what time I lost, and money I'm also losing on it. What is even worse is they said they would make it right. Yeah we will exchange it. Then later, no you pay the difference. As if I was asking for a $500 dollar difference in product. Exchange a cheap combo amp for a cheap combo amp… That's all. They didn't make it right. Didn't send me an email saying why they wouldn't. They just sent me an email saying I'll be refunded. They've lost a costumer for life. I'll go to sweetwater from now on and I'll be sure every musician I know heard about it and decides to stay away from zzounds. You can't tell people you'll make it right and then treat them like they don't matter after you messed up. That's not how the world works and definitely not how a business should be ran…..

Buyer be aware

Zzounds has ripped me off twice now, has horrible customer service. Sweetwaters 55 point inspection plan isnt perfect or the best, they sometimes miss things, but at least they inspect it. Zzounds you dont know what you are getting, if it will work.If it doesnt, you will get some jerk talking to you like you are a piece of crap, do not matter and you are a criminal for being unhappy. I bought a $1800 guitar for a Christmas present to myself.It was unplayable. Zzounds returns department does not take phone calls, or make phone calls, is a total pain to deal with. They offered a $120 credit, is all they offered to me, so i took it. After taking the guitar to multiple repair centers being told the guitar needs a new neck. Zzounds refused to help me and still expects me to make 6 more payments or will report me. I dont know what to do.It would be nice if they would contact Fender because Fenders warranty is useless and Fender is not allowed to talk to customers only dealers and repair centers.Zzounds.com are scum of the earth, they are all that is wrong with this world. They are ruthless, accept no responsibilty for their actions.

When trying to pay a debt that had gone into collections, the customer service associate assured me that I could do a payment plan and it turns out, the collections agency took out the whole debt. When I called collections again, the agent was not helpful, condescending and explained to me..."once we have your card number, we are authorized to take that amount" in verbatim. Again he insisted that there was nothing he could do even as I told him that the previous associate told me otherwise. I was upset that an associate would tell me I could enter a payment plan and then that's not the case. I'm very disappointed with the service of this company. It's not that I'm upset about paying my debt, I was more than happy to get that squared away. What I'm upset is the way customer service acted and with how it was explained to me by the previous customer service agent. I have bought 4 keyboards and a hohner from zzounds. I was resdy to buy the alesis nitro as well but I'm glad to say I will never shop with you guys again and I encourage others to not do the same. Save yourselves the hassle. And zzounds, train your staff to be all on the same page when it comes to helping your customers.

This company intentionally lies to its customers by advertising free two day which only exists in another universe. The real truth is that it is actually FEDEX regular GROUND SHIPPING. FedEx does not typically ever deliver anything ever in two days without a hefty payment. Regular ground IS NOT AS IMPORTANT to FedEx. When Talking to ZZounds about the issue their agents are well aware of the companies lies. But say the company does not care. Time to file a class action lawsuit and make those scum bags pay for what they promise and repay us musicians for lost time and false hopes of deliveries. Some of us need gear for shows and have lost thousands thanks to their lies. Do yourself a favor and buy elsewhere.

Arrived in a day!

I'm not sure what was happening and why so many bad reviews. I ordered via the no credit check and easy payments for 4 months, no credit check as stated, approved instantly, my wavestate was shipped same day then arrived in 24 hours to my door by fedex, who rang my doorbell. It arrived well within the stated time. I read these reviews after i had ordered two items and my stomach sank. These reviews are misleading and anxiety-causing. So for anyone reading this, i'm not sure how accurate this all is but they did exactly what they say in the website. I also emailed their customer service, who got back to me within an hour with a totally helpful answer to my query, Anyway I will use these guys again to get the rest of my set up!

Worst customer service

Every time I call ZZounds I receive the worst customer service ever. They sound like they doing give a rat's $#*! what your issue is. No empathy whatsoever. They keep tying my account to an ex-boyfriend who they claim didn't pay his balance. I haven't lived with the dude in years and there's no way he has my new card info or new address and they keep tying me to his account and not allowing my orders to go through. The worst part is that not too long ago I ordered a keyboard stand and I paid for it in full upfront. They sent the stand over and that was over with it, but when I tried paying for four pieces of equipment on a payment plan with "no credit check" they simply cancelled it on the day it was supposed to be delivered and claimed it was because I typed my address wrong and it could not be verified. They asked me to place the order again, so I double-checked my card billing address and shipping and placed the order again. They cancelled again and this time they finally told me "the truth". The truth that they could've simply told me the first time around to save me the time from trying to do it again and get my gear on time for my upcoming gig. The second time is when they told me my order was cancelled because I used information similar to an old account that had a pending balance. They couldn't give me any more information on it because it doesn't have my name but I remembered it may have been my ex's old account because we use to live together 4 years ago and he may have used our address but I haven't lived with him since then so it's BS that they claim similar info was used. And the agents don't give a damn. They don't care I'm not going to get my gear on time for my gig nor that I have nothing to do with my ex's account. They suck. Too bad because I would be buying stuff from them all the time. Don't buy from them unless you pay upfront or don't care to deal with $#*!ty customer service.

I placed an order on Friday using my credit card. That afternoon, I'd gotten a notification it was canceled. The email didn't give any information beyond that. I called customer service and was told it was a verification issue, to make sure my billing info matched, and tried again. The next day, I got a notification my order was canceled again. I tried to place another order with my debit card only for it to be canceled as well. I called to ask what's going on and they said that if the email address doesn't match the one I use for banking, verification won't go through (are you kidding me?). I tried to place the order again with the proper email address. Canceled again. I called customer service again and was told they could send me a link to verify me through my license and a selfie video (why wasn't this suggested in the first place?). I placed yet another order, received the verification email, completed the steps, and woke up to find yet another order canceled. I called to ask what the problem was this time and they said if the address on the ID doesn't match my bank, it wouldn't go through. I'd already mentioned that I'd recently moved and changed addresses so I don't understand why this wouldn't be brought up to begin with. They told me to try again when I got a new ID. I told them I'd rather wait for the gear to come back in stock at Sweetwater and the rep got rude and hung up on me. Definitely not worth the hassle at all. I've never had any issues ordering gear before and I've bought stuff from Sweetwater, Guitar Center, and Musician's Friend. Sweetwater's customer service is by far superior in my experience. I shouldn't have even tried so many times, and I definitely won't be attempting to order from them in the future.

Double Les Paul order

Hi everyone, today around 12 noon I ordered 2 Les Paul classics by mistake instead of just one. I called Gregory at Customer Service and he answered the phone on 2 rings. I actually got a person! He said no problem and within an hour I got an E mail from them stating it was taken care of and they would send just the one guitar I bought, Keep up the good work. P. S They we're the only ones who had the Epiphone Les Paul Classic( Best kept secret around)

I made a purchase from zZounds on a Friday with them telling me that it would be delivered on Sunday. Sunday came and went and my purchase never showed up! I don't know why they advertise a delivery option that is unavailable, but I don't think it's a very honest practice. If it sounds to good to be true, it probably is! Keep it honest, will you please!

This company offers extremely little communication with the customer, and the second you tell them they're messing up, they cancel your order. This was my first experience with them and it's truly the most disgusting yet. I placed a $1400 order with them, the next day they said I needed to call in so I did, we verified all the info and the rep said I would start getting updates and we were good to go, then two days later (with no reason attatched) they cancelled the entire order after I sent an email asking for an update. So I went to Sweetwater and got my purchase approved and shipped DAY OF PURCHASE. This experience was extremely back handed after waiting a whole week of trying to get this stuff. Never have I EVER had a company plain out cancel an order and not even respond to my inquiry, they were truly a waste of a hard inquiry on my credit, and a waste of breath speaking to on the phone. This company is nothing but shade. DO NOT BUY DO NOT BUY DO NOT BUY DO NOT BUY!

Dont get me wrong zzounds sounds pretty cool however they are not! I am so upset I thought this was going to be my one stop for buying music equipment. I have used them before in the past too.
They say they do not check credits "ever" but they checked mine. They sent me two different emails with each one saying something completely different.
Whenever you place your order it takes a full day to process and then they will actually start processing your order. They do not tell you what your limit is. Apparently i have a maximum limit of $3000 and $1500.
Customer service agents are just lazy and seem extremely tired or bored. When they transferred me to the manager he was even worse than the customer reps. It was difficult to hear him and he did not know what he was talking about. It sounded like he was saying whatever to get me to hang up even though I was in the right. I am willing to cancel all my orders i have financed and take my business elsewhere.

Zzounds, first and foremost, does not care about you as a customer. If you won't spend your money with them, somebody else will. They know that, and that's exactly how you can expect to be treated. Customer service acts as if you're burdening them with questions and concerns over where your money went or your product hasn't. Their "free 2 Day shipping" is essentially a scam, as the CSR will tell you in so many words that it's not two days from when you order, it's two days from when they decide to start shipping. That means you can order a product on a Monday with "free 2 Day shipping," but if they don't send the product out until that Friday, you won't see it until next week. I've already been charged for a product that should've arrived this afternoon. CSR confirmed it's still just sitting at the warehouse. If I recieve my product at all, I'll update this regarding the condition of their open box products, but as I'm on day 4 of my "free 2 Day shipping," I'm not sure I won't just cancel entirely. I was enthusiastic, letting the CSR know this was my first Zzounds experience, and I was looking forward to seeing them apart from Sweetwater, my go-to gear gurus. Unfortunately, it's a uninformed, unappreciative, and nonchalant attitude that separates Zzo's from the pros. This will be my first and last experience with the Zzound hounds.

Just a friendly warning

I have bought quite a few things from zzsounds and never had a problem my items were always exactly what I ordered and delivered to my door within 2 days as promised and their interest free payment plan is a nice option as well but I recently discovered that every time you use their payment plan option they do a hard inquiry on your credit report which lowered my credit score and had i known this I would have just paid for my items in full but that is my only gripe with zzsounds and just wanted to make others aware of this...
