I received an Email from ZocDoc advising me that I needed to make an appointment for dermatology. I already had an appointment but this site made another appointment at a different time and day. When I called the help number the rep said she didn't understand why 'I didn't understand"? And when I requested my name be removed from their list she said that all my appointments would be cancelled. I hung up and called my local dermatologist who was unaware that zocdoc would have called me? Very very BAD!
They deleted my one negative review. Most doctors have perfect glowing reviews upon a glance. I don't trust them as a reliable source of information.

VERY disappointed with our interactions with this vendor/service company. We are a small/mid-size dental office, positioned for a small amount of growth, but in general, not engaged with marketing. We were solicited by Zoc Doc. What I liked was the opportunity to book through our website. I wish I had never engaged. We are a busy office. Our patient care comes above all else. Since our dealings with Zoc Doc we are averaging four calls with Zoc Docs per day for over one month. We do not want 75% of what they offer. The first two patients who booked cancelled 30 minutes prior to their appointed times - that is, despite our telephone conversations. It just does not work with our demographic, and I am now desperately working to get out of the the arrangement. Their staff is abusive and argumentative. The $3000 upfront free is a scam. They have little care about our practice, or the core values of our business. We have enjoyed many long term relationships with vendors - and this is not one. This is a group of millenials living in virtual reality with just no understanding of the daily operation of a dental practice.
They refused to publish my critical review of a cardiologist who ordered a test that I suspected was unnecessary and the doctor 's staff acknowledged was just being done for the money. My insurer refused to pay saying it was medically unnecessary. Information a prospective patient deserves to know. Not a credible service. Just another parasite on the obese corpus of American health care. -- Karl V. In NYC

I wish I would have seen your site before I signed up with ZocDoc. I am a physician who was sold ZocDoc with an aggressive sales pitch. Unfortunately, and against my better judgement, I allowed myself to sign up for a six month trial of ZocDoc for $1800 upfront. As soon as I signed up, ZocDoc support ceased. I have seen zero new patients over this six month period.
They are so shady that I expect to be auto-renewed, even though I have told them I want to get out of this arrangement. If you are a doctor, stay away! If there was a zero star rating, I would use it.
Wasted my time. I took off an entire afternoon based on Zocdoc appointment confirmation. I wasted valuable time and money. The doctor's office told me that they never received any information from zocdoc. Zocodoc caustomer service called next day to say they will send me $5 as compensation which in spite of acute frustration I declined.
Bottom line - their system does not work. Stay away.
I am a dentist that signed on with Zocdoc. They told me it was necessary to pay the full $3000 for the year subscription up front to cover their high startup costs to get me up and running. That is a load of bull sh*t. It took ten minute on the phone to get me up and running. Now, 3 months later, I know the real reason. I have gotten a total of one new patient from them and when I asked to cancel the service and receive a partial refund they told me they have a no-refund policy. Do not be taken in by their high pressure sales team preying on doctors trying to build to build their practices.
Horrible company. We signed up for a month-to-month deal, had horrible "service after the sale", had 0 appointments made, couldn't get a hold of anyone at ZocDoc to find out our account stats (pageviews, etc.)
We have been trying to cancel for more than 6 weeks and we continue to get charged. When I finally spoke with someone in person, he made up lie after lie about who was able to authorize the cancellation. Even though I personally signed the user agreement and authorized the subscription, I'm supposedly not authorized to cancel. Others in our org have contacted them and we are still being charged.
They also harassed us about having patients fill out reviews. One provider was new and didn't have any patients, so they told us we should have our own office staff fill out the reviews instead. Totally dishonest and unethical.
I feel bad for all the people who invested in this service. ZocDoc will go down in flames - probably disguised as a massive lawsuit.
Please stop calling dental offices acting like you are dentists that want to speak with my dentist and then try to push sales on him. I will never give him the messages and it is making our office crazy with the calls
ZocDoc is convenient, and I think it fills an important need in the market. However, the way they do their doctor rating system is disingenuous and shameful. Essentially any patient review below 4-stars is heavily scrutinized, and you have to talk to a representative explaining your rationale for the rating, and they have strict and arbitrary criteria regarding whether they will post your review.
For instance, on more than one occasion, I have set up an appointment on ZocDoc, received a confirmation, arrived at my appointment and was told I was not in their system and would have to reschedule. In my opinion, that is just about the worst possible outcome of an appointment and warrants a 1-star rating. The guy could be a great doctor, but if booking through ZocDoc means it's a crap shoot whether the appointment will happen, that's something other users should know about. However, ZocDoc has a strict "you have to see the doctor to post a review", which I think doesn't make sense here.
As proof of my point of inflated rankings, try to find a doctor's overall rating below 4 stars (there are maybe 2 on the entire site). Most of the doctors I've found through them are fine, but they certainly aren't all 5-stars. Obviously the reason they do this is so they can continue to profit by referring patients to low-quality doctors (as doctors pay a monthly subscription to use their site, and would cancel if they were rated poorly on ZocDoc). So if you choose to use ZocDoc, temper your expectations (4 stars = 2 stars, 4.5 stars = 3 stars etc.), use reviews from Vitals.com or HealthGrades.com, and call ahead before driving to your appointments.
I had a horrible experience with a Dentist who was given a 5 start rating on Zocdoc. I posted an honest negative review. I did not say anything harmful or
Zocdoc refused to post it. I called them later that day and they mentioned they would provide me with an opportunity to "edit" my review... I never heard back from them. Such B. S!

I had a very bad experience with a doctor.
I wrote a negative review and they did not post it.
Unethical and deceptive business practices. We signed on for a trial six month period. At the end of the six months, without any notice, we were charged again. Their response was "we are so sorry, our rep was ill. It won't happen again." We received an email that our "invoice was ready." Emailed and spoke to several reps who assured us our account would not be charged without speaking to us first. We were promised a prompt call back. Finally received a call several days later and was told our account had already been debited. We were told to "read your agreement." Asked about the previous apologies and promises not to repeat an unauthorized debit and was told "prove it." This company doesn't even send any notice that "it's time to renew in thirty days." I was told it is "my job to keep track." I do like the service but we won't be "autorenewing" with them ever again. Beware.

I am a medical practice administrator and have found ZocDoc's unethical client recruitment actions to be highly inappropriate, aggressive, unprofessional, and deceptive. Our office continues to be victim to ZocDoc's ongoing and unacceptable solicitation tactics and confrontational behavior toward staff. I have contacted the Attorney General's office to initiate a formal complaint against ZocDoc's continual harassment and potentially unlawful business practices.
It looks like a lot of these reviews are from patients which I cant relate to, but Ive been using ZocDoc for 5 months now and even though the first month was a bit slow things have REALLY picked up - plus they offer a lot of other great services likes reminders and Checkin which helps my office a ton too - its been a great addition to the office, try it for yourself before listening to these reviews
After moving to a new state I've found great doctors through this website!
OK ZOC DOC has just gone too far!
They keep harassing our office to sign up. We have been going back and forth
For years asking and begging to be left alone. And the staff gets even more
Aggressive and now abusive! These people have no shame! Stay away!
I've used ZocDoc for my Dentist and PCP and have had my friends start using it as well! Not only were the Doctors awesome, but they were in network. 10/10 would use again
First doctor appointment was cancelled by site, contacted website, tried another doctor 15 minutes later, showed up and they had no idea who I was. Site just does not work. Lord knows what they will do with our information!
Do any of you hate getting unrelated texts plugging some business that has no right or reason to contact you? Zocdoc is very poor at oversight of the doctors they refer to.
The dentistry I'd like to discuss is Irving Park Family Dentist. They are inconsiderate to a rare, breathtaking degree. When I got there, they informed me my appointment was cancelled. When I asked why I didn't know that, they told me they had been calling patients 'all morning' to let them know. They weren't on the phone at the time, so apparently they thought they were done calling everyone to cancel. My phone showed no text, no call. So, I guess I wasn't important enough of a customer to let me know.
I was referred to this dental practice by Zocdoc, so perhaps zocdoc doctors tend not to value their online patients so much.
This dental practice, with whom I've had NO business relationship, since after all they cancelled my appointment (I never went back) is now texting me ads for their business. Funny how when its to their benefit, they can find my number just fine.
The cancelled appointment was almost a year ago! When are they going to stop spamming me? Or do they not remember they did not ever actually see me as a patient?
Answer: Hello Mark. Zocdoc offers a closed-loop review system that allows patients to share their experiences after being seen for an appointment booked on Zocdoc. These reviews can be found on each individual provider's Zocdoc profile. You can search for a provider at https://www.zocdoc.com/. Please let us know if we can help you find the care that you need or if there is a different set of reviews that you are trying to access at this time. You can reach our service team at (855)962-3621.
Answer: Hi Sandra, we hope that you were able to get the care that you were looking for. At Zocdoc, we are not able to offer any medical advice or guidance so we recommend you contact your doctor directly if you need to ever verify they will be able to provide the treatment you are looking for. Feel free to reach out to the Zocdoc team at (855) 962-3621 or [email protected] if there is anything we can do to help you find the care that you need.
Answer: Yes, prices appear to be around $44-180 now. Offices get charged this even for cancellations, no-shows, and fake bookings. Zocdoc has no built in protections to negate this type of booking behaviors. Why would they when they profit off it? Zocdoc also prohibits practices from talking about this fee as it violates their "community standards."
Answer: Hello Swetha. Thanks for reaching out. We'd love to help you find a doctor and book an appointment right online. If you go to www.Zocdoc.com, you can search for doctors by specialty, location, and insurance. You'll be able to see a list of doctors and their availability. Once you select a doctor, you can choose the time that is best for you. Once you complete the booking process, the doctor will receive your appointment information and confirm your appointment via email. This is completely free for you as a patient. Please give us a call at (855) 962-3621 if you need help with this or anything else!
Answer: Hi Amanda! That depends on the doctor's office! Every provider is different, so it would be best to get in touch with them about specific pricing information. Give us a call at 855-962-3621 if you have any other questions. In health, Mary M. Zocdoc Service Team
Answer: Hi Mallory! Thanks for your question! You can see a provider's reviews by viewing the full profile and scrolling down. All of the reviews will be listed there toward the left side of the page. Give us a call at (855) 962-3621 if you are having any trouble! In health, Mary M. Zocdoc Service Team
