These guys are the worst. Our office decided to go with these guys to check them out. After a couple of months they became a total nightmare. We decided they were not right for our office so we went to try and cancel them. Simple enough right? Wrong! We told them to not book anymore appointments online, and they still, to this day, book the patients for times when the doctor was not in the office, or when we had no openings for appointments. We have not paid them in months! Still get phone calls from angry patients saying they booked with Zocdoc for this day and this time. The doctor was not in. Makes for angry patients! Not a good way to run a online service guys! Get a clue!
I was very pleased with my visit to the dr app. The wait was very long an off person wasn't very helpful, but once I met with Dr Hernandez I knew why it took so long. She is very attentive an sit an talk to you an answer all questions. My app. Was well worth the wait.
Site says the doctor does not take my insurance but they actually do. Do not use Zocdoc.
I made an appointment on Zocdoc with a doctor that sounded great, about a week from the appointment date I got a call from the clinic saying the doctor no longer takes the insurance I have.
I was upset, but I didn't fret. I alerted Zocdoc that my appointment had been cancelled because the doctor no longer takes my insurance, and they should call the clinic and confirm that so they can remove the doctor from the list to save other users any future problems.
I was thanked, and they said they would do just that.
I made another appointment with another doctor listed as taking my insurance a couple weeks later, I felt a little apprehensive because I saw the doctor I had informed them about two weeks ago was STILL listed as taking the insurance.
I decided to call the clinic of the new doctor to ask instead of relying on Zocdoc's list. I was told they stopped taking my insurance well over a year ago...
I once again relayed this info to Zocdoc, they said they would look into it, they said doctor's shouldn't be listed as taking insurances that they don't, they would get to the bottom of things.
Well... BOTH the doctors are STILL listed as taking the insurance to this day. Nothing has been done and plenty of time has passed. They apparently will say anything and do nothing. The receptionist at the last clinic says she has never been contacted to confirm anything, and she would know.
A person could get killed driving to a worthless appointment. Not all clinics will call and alert you not to come. Zocdoc really needs to make sure the things they list are true, all it would take is a phone call to confirm something as simple as insurance plans, but they would rather not.
Hi Ella,
We are very concerned to hear about this. This is not how our service works, and I apologize for the trouble with both of these appointments. I certainly want to investigate and escalate these issues right away. Feel free to give us a call at (855) 962-3621 if you have any further concerns. This should not have been your experience with our service.

Zocdoc is an expensive marketing tool, but is biased against the provider. They allow anonymous reviews to be posted and refuse to take them down even when they are aware that the review was not made by a"verified patient". The review is marked as submitted by a"verified patient" regardless. They say this acceptable within their guidelines. For Zocdoc the market is to people who use the app without cost. Their slogan is "power to the people", without any interest in helping the providers who pay them a rich fee each month.
Our account was " breached" by someone other than my office. ZocDoc did not notify us until many months later and could not give me any information other than it was corrected. When I asked to be compensated in some way they told me it was not there policy to refund people.
I thought they handled this very unprofessionally.
Besides that not one patient was booked through them.
I made an appointment with them and I got confirmation and everything and when I called to see where they were located they didn't even have me in the schedule or anything.
Hi Rachael,
We are so sorry for the trouble with this appointment. When you receive that confirmation, it is the office confirming the appointment, so we definitely want to get to the bottom of this right away. Please give us a call at (855) 962-3621 and we would love to get this sorted out.

I found an ophthalmologist in Houston through zoc doc close to my house, which was great. However, after filling out 10 pages on patient history and information 10 days before my appointment date, I received a phone call one business day before my appointment from the Doctor's office that the appointment cannot be confirmed, since it was booked up. Plus, I had to resubmit all my patient information and book a new appointment via phone directly. It was a huge waste of time and I had to wait another week and bear the pain in my eye.
Hi Aswini,
We are terribly sorry for the trouble with this appointment. Providers guarantee the availability they post on our site, so we definitely want to get to the bottom of this right away. Please give us a call at (855) 962-3621, we would love to make it up to you.

ZocDoc makes promises they cannot keep. We have been with them for four months and have not received not one patient. They are saying they have just referred a patient and in fact they are already existing patients in the office. We are very disappointed with this service and it has been a waste of our time and money. They make many excuses about the schedule and availability. Then we left one operatory free for them only, and still not one referral; unbelievable! They keep making excuses and trying to make it look like we are at fault. We found out there is no refund for the $3000. 00 we had to pay up front. I would not recommend any doctor to them.

Zocdoc's rule for reviews are skewed. They willfully leave out reviews which leads to a positive bias in their system.
If you miss a doctor's appointment, you're ineligible to leave a review. But here's the kicker: even if you miss it due to the DOCTOR's poor time/booking management, then you STILL cannot leave a message.
Dr. GK Ravichandran (Houston, TX off of 59 south) didn't fulfill his appointment that I made via zocdoc. Called him four time to find his office after arriving at a dingy, hollowed out building and never was picked up. I even called with zocdoc and nothing. I left a voicemail expressing my displeasure calmly albeit curtly to which I finally receive a call saying that this was my fault and that I have no grounds for attitude. Vindictive customer support such as this is only for the unprofessional and uncouth. Truly a staff that thinks solely of themselves and not about the patient.

Website was great and very simple to use but the reservation time was not kept at the doctor. I still had to wait over an hour before being seen. If they plan to overbook it should be noted or advised as I am a user scheduling things in order to remain on a schedule but that made me late for my second appointment.
Hi Ben,
We are so sorry you had a long wait time! Please give us a call at (855) 962-3621 and we would be happy to take a look at this appointment for you.

This company is so shady that they can't even write up personal bogus reviews for their crappy doctors. I googled quite a few "glowing" patient reviews and found zoc doc was using the EXACT same wording for multiple doctors. That explains the positive 5 star reviews for quack doctors.
Hi Andrew,
All of our reviews are left by verified patients. If you have any concerns, please give us a call at (855) 962-3621, and we would be happy to speak with you.

Dr Rasul is the best! He is kind, compassionate and thorough. His staff mirrors him! Couldn't ask for a better doctor to help me with my pain.
Do NOT use Zoc Doc. It couldn't possibly be any more of a waste of a website. Never use this bull$#*!, pathetic $#*! excuse of an app. I have been having a serious manic bipolar episode for over a week. I made an appointment a week ago with a psychiatrist that was supposed to be for today. An appointment that I desperately needed... My mental disorder is no $#*!ing joke. Today what do I find out? That it was cancelled. No one informed me, no call or email or anything. I called the psychiatrist office and they had no record of any appointment under my name. They told me the doctor I wanted to see was booked for another month. I called Zoc doc to see if they could help me find a doctor immediately due to the circumstances and COUNTING on this day. The lady I talked to was absolutely unable to help me and referred me to the "crisis hotline". WHAT A JOKE. I would love to find a way to shut this entire website down for anyone else who needs help and unknowingly tries to use this site because You WILL be disappointed, promise you that. Have a great day y'all.
Hi Madeline,
We are so sorry for your experience with this appointment, and that the office did not reach out to you about this cancellation. We always want to make sure you are able to get the immediate care you need. If you need help at all please don't hesitate to reach out.

The last 2 Dr apts I made on zocdoc the Dr's cancelled. The most recent one cancelled after I left work to go to the Dr's appointment. I was 1/2 way there and had to turn around. I will not be using ZocDoc anymore

I visited a doctor listed as taking my insurance via ZocDoc. When the doctor then slapped me with a bill, I reached out to them NOT to get my money back, but instead to inform them that this doctor they listed on their site did not actually take said insurance.
Their response was that they would not remove the doctor because "the doctor said they take that insurance". When I asked if they require proof of insurance from the doctors they list on their site, they said no.
So they are listing doctors on their website without confirming any proof that they do take certain insurances, which is not only terrible but also illegal.
Hi Rachel,
I am so sorry for the trouble you experienced with this office! We do require doctors to update and guarantee the accuracy of their insurance listings as they appear on Zocdoc. This is due to the fact that insurance plans and networks are constantly changing and insurance carriers’ databases are often outdated, so we find that holding providers responsible for updating this information offers the most reliable information for our patients.
Since we require providers to post accurate insurance information on their profiles, in the event that a patient is not given an in-network experience after selecting an insurance plan that is listed as in-network on a provider’s profile, our Service Team works diligently with that provider’s office to advocate on behalf of the patient and ensure that providers are honoring their agreement with Zocdoc to list accurate information.
We have contacted this provider’s office to clear up the confusion for your particular case. We’re happy to review next steps if you’re still experiencing any issues! Please don’t hesitate to reach out to our Service Team, we’re more than happy to assist!

I went searching for an ENT on ZocDoc this morning hoping to book an appointment right away. The soonest was two days away. So I took the appointment. They offered to do the paperwork online. I did all the paperwork and supplied all of the insurance information. The doctors office continued to contact me throughtout the day, asking for more info. I complied with all of their requests. By the end of today, they said they had everything and would contact my insurance company, if everything was fine, then ZOCDOC would confirm my appointment. Wait a minute! ZocDoc confirmed my appointment this morning, or so I thought. Just now, the doctors office informed me that the Wednesday appointment was no longer available. Would I like to book another day? At this point, Absolutely not! Don't they realize that I took the appointment because I need to see somebody now? ZocDoc wasted a whole day for me which I could have spent finding a doctor. The doctors office and ZocDoc do not seem to or want to understand any of this.
Hi Michael,

I booked an appointment with a dermatologist on Zocdoc and they gave me the address and the time. Everything was ok until, Guess what, it wasn't in that address because that specific day the doctor was in the office at 2:00 pm and my appointment was at 10:00 am. I called them and they reschedule it for later. When I went to the office again the doctor was not a dermatologist, he was the general doctor and the did not even accept my insurance. I was so pissed off because they made me loose a whole day just because of their incompetence. They should know better this stuff people cannot waste their time like that just because they did not know. Be careful when your are making an appointment always make sure they take your insurance and when they call you to confirm ask them the address and time just to make sure.
Hi Jessica,
This should definitely have not been your experience using Zocdoc. Our doctors guarantee the information they list on our site is accurate, and we want to get to the bottom of this right away. Could you give us a call at (855) 962-3621? We definitely want to take a look at what happened here.

I was able to find the right dermatologist based on details and reviews regarding Doctor and I couldn't be happier about my selection.
Because of bad weather and heavy traffic we were about ten minutes late For appointment. Called from the road and were told not to come. However, I was billed $75.00 for missed visit Under the circumstances this is very unfair and we have no intention to pay!
Hi there Carolyn,
We are so sorry to hear about the confusion with this bill. Feel free to give us a call at (855) 962-3621 if there is anything we can do to help!

Answer: Hello Mark. Zocdoc offers a closed-loop review system that allows patients to share their experiences after being seen for an appointment booked on Zocdoc. These reviews can be found on each individual provider's Zocdoc profile. You can search for a provider at https://www.zocdoc.com/. Please let us know if we can help you find the care that you need or if there is a different set of reviews that you are trying to access at this time. You can reach our service team at (855)962-3621.
Answer: Hi Sandra, we hope that you were able to get the care that you were looking for. At Zocdoc, we are not able to offer any medical advice or guidance so we recommend you contact your doctor directly if you need to ever verify they will be able to provide the treatment you are looking for. Feel free to reach out to the Zocdoc team at (855) 962-3621 or [email protected] if there is anything we can do to help you find the care that you need.
Answer: Yes, prices appear to be around $44-180 now. Offices get charged this even for cancellations, no-shows, and fake bookings. Zocdoc has no built in protections to negate this type of booking behaviors. Why would they when they profit off it? Zocdoc also prohibits practices from talking about this fee as it violates their "community standards."
Answer: Hello Swetha. Thanks for reaching out. We'd love to help you find a doctor and book an appointment right online. If you go to www.Zocdoc.com, you can search for doctors by specialty, location, and insurance. You'll be able to see a list of doctors and their availability. Once you select a doctor, you can choose the time that is best for you. Once you complete the booking process, the doctor will receive your appointment information and confirm your appointment via email. This is completely free for you as a patient. Please give us a call at (855) 962-3621 if you need help with this or anything else!
Answer: Hi Amanda! That depends on the doctor's office! Every provider is different, so it would be best to get in touch with them about specific pricing information. Give us a call at 855-962-3621 if you have any other questions. In health, Mary M. Zocdoc Service Team
Answer: Hi Mallory! Thanks for your question! You can see a provider's reviews by viewing the full profile and scrolling down. All of the reviews will be listed there toward the left side of the page. Give us a call at (855) 962-3621 if you are having any trouble! In health, Mary M. Zocdoc Service Team
