My daughter was under dr l'salata's care for months. He was somewhat stumped about her issue and to cover all his bases he requested a MRI, X-ray and finally a neurologist to perform an emg test. We were scheduled for emg test on Monday morning 11am at Weil Cornell medical group but on Wednesday before I received a call to inform me dr l'salata no longer accepts insurance. What?! My daughter's appointment is now cancelled after we arranged Holiday weekend around this confirmed appointment. Karen from Brooklyn office says we'll all I can say is I'm sorry! That unfortunately is unacceptable dr. L'salata office should have notified his patients that are under his care with said insurance! I'm hoping this is a blessing in disguise for my daughter and she gets a doctor who cares about his patients. Dr l'salata stinks! Pee u!
As a provider using zocdoc, I would not recommend this service. They do not take good care of their customers, slow to address problems which are affecting patients ability to schedule. I lost a bunch of business because patients had difficulty scheduling. Zocdoc did basically nothing to remedy the problem and said that no one else was having this problem. In other words it was my problem.
Zocdoc is not there for providers. Essentially, Zocdoc has ruined my business. They allow patients to book on the site and cancel whenever they want, even two minutes before appointments. They claim they hold patients accountable, but they actually do not. They may ban a patient based on email address, but then they just create another account with a different email address. There is no way to block patients who have been harassive. The service team clearly copies and pastes from a catalog of responses in emails. Often times, they do not respond at all. I would highly discourage that all providers stay away from this platform. It is making a mockery of the healthcare industry and will crumble any small business.
Ally, and Sarah(sp) helped me try and find doctor's in the ATL area that took out of state work comp. Majority of the list doesn't even take regular GA work comp and I brought it to their attention and they tried to do their best. Wish I had a doctor to go to but the whole list is bunk. Thanks Ally and Sarah, you guys tried :)
Overall, a piece of garbage. I created an account to schedule an appointment. They do not send any confirmation of the appointment or reminders that there is any appointment scheduled for me. I end up calling the dental office myself to schedule it.
This website asks for a bunch of sensitive and private medical information that I don't even know if they are actually secured.
The "Forgot Password" link does not work either. I wanted to go back in and disable this account and have waited for the Password Reset email for more than 5 days now and still have not received it. I hope my account is locked for good because I will never use this site again.

What a piece of crap. This application asks for too much information and then does not work. I booked an appointment with my doc using the application only to learn the appointment was not really available. What a waste of my time and that of the office staff.
Hi Randy,

Referred to a primary doctor I wouldn't trust a rat with. The primary care doctor was nothing but an arrogant, unethical witch. Love to hear herself talk, doesn't listen to the patient. Describes medications that are unnecessary. Told this doctor that I had a fatty liver and she stated this was a menopausal issue, this was so very WRONG.
When I questioned her she said if I don't like it then I can go elsewhere and kicked me out of her office but not before collecting $90. She brushes the seriousness of certain lab results off as age related. Saw another doctor for these elevations and glad I did for they could become life threatening and needed to be monitored.
Hi Leslie,
We are so sorry to hear about your poor experience with this doctor. Feel free to give us a call at (855) 962-3621 if there is anything we can do to help!

This site is for the bottom of the barrel. If you are poor or have crap insurance and can only afford a terrible doctor or dentist then this is the app for you.

I moved to a new city and was told to use ZocDoc to find a new doctor and make an appointment. I found an "in-network" doctor and was able to make an appointment conveniently online. Imagine my surprise and utter disappointment to see a $500 medical bill because, surprise, the doctor was not in-network. Now, I am in a horrible financial situation (of which the stress is WORSENING my condition) and I have to go back to get my lab tests, which is going to be more out-of-network charges. I cannot explain how disappointed I am in this entire experience.
Hi Amanda,
We are truly sorry to hear about what happened with this appointment. This should definitely have not been your experience using Zocdoc. Our doctors guarantee the information they list on our site is accurate, and we want to get to the bottom of this right away. Could you give us a call at (855) 962-3621? We would be happy to help you resolve this issue.

I wrote a review about my disastrous visit to a dentist I booked with zocdoc but guess what Zocdoc did not post it. Avoid this app! I use the google or yelp reviews now.

I went to see Dr. Booker T. Seymour III on a Wed. With painful swallowing. After a cursory listen to my complaingt he stuck a camera up my nose without lube or numbing agent, rooted around for 3 or 4 minutes, told me I had a split septum and an ear that wouldn't pop, set me up for 3 tests which he would not specify even the names let alone the reason or cost, and 15 days away at best. Then he gave me a pat on the head and disappeared. He refused to speak to me about any interim relief or explanation of a therapeutic plan, in fact refused to speak to mea at all, after repeated calls Wed, Th, Fri, thru the weekend. His answering people finally told me to quit bugging him and call an ambulance to the ER. After I found an actual doctor on the following Mon., who saw me right away, set me up with an endoscopy, and was able to see a 5cm malignant tumor on my hypopharynx and set me in the right direction, Dr. Seymour's people began calling me to schedule and re-schedule the tests. I told them I would not be using Dr. Seymour again and to please stop calling me. It is now Wed. Jan. 18 and I just got out of surgery when I start getting more calls from his office confirming my appointment for the tests. WTF? Unless you need a nose job or want to sign up for one of his BS sleep studies, DO NOT go anywhere near this quack.
Please do not used this site to find any doctors. The site only keeps the best reviews. I found two doctors from Zocdoc when I first moved to a new city and they both turned out to be the worst doctors in my life. I looked up Yelp and the reviews were the worst for both of them. I left a feedback for the 1st one but it just disappeared after a day or two. The 2nd one wouldn't allow me even to write a review. The irony is that I see 5 star reviews kept popping out when they did not even allow me to write a review. These are evidences of the Zocdoc reviews are fake and fraudulent. This website need serious investigation by someone who can speak for consumers.

Fantastic group of Medical Doctors and Specialists treating anyone who desires a general treatment Medical Doctor, or one who needs specialized individual care for the treatment relating to Acquired Immune deficiency syndrome. Awesome staff, medical lab on premises and outstanding attention to detail quality medical care in Dallas and surrounding Metro plex.
After making an appointment 2 weeks prior to the visit requesting a specific time and physician the day before I received a call regarding the appointment. The time was incorrect and the physician was incorrect and to compound the issue the office staff was not helpful. I had been receiving emails every other day confirming my appointment. When I called the office staff back I was placed and hold and the offered to change the appointment to the original time requested. That didn't solve the issue with the physician. The office staff stated that they had a person "taking care" of Zocdoc appointments. I stated I wanted to cancel the appointment. No attempt at service recovery. This is so frustrating. I will call the office now and not bother with the app.

My friend told me to use zocdoc after getting my health insurance so i gave it a try. I trusted zocdoc to give me the right doctors that accepted anthem blue shield ppo. I was confused why i got expensive bills. I called my health insurance and told me that those doctors were not in-network. How are you going to help me Zocdoc?
Hi Anabel,

Please know that ZocDoc has their employees write fake reviews & doctors expect that the vast majority of negative reviews will be filtered out. Yes, that's why each and every doctor appears to have an unbelievable 4 or 5 stars; because it's BS. I have also heard that they pay for positive reviews as well. It is disgusting that they put customers in harm's way in the name of health. STAY AWAY

As a surgeon, I was one of the first non-primary care physicians to begin using zocdoc to find patients sseveral years ago. During the first year zocdoc did a nice job creating specialist subgroups so that appropriate patients could find me.
Over the first two years many patients found me and scheduled through the app. What I like about it is that it is VERY helpful for the patient to find a specialist who can see them right away. Unfortunately there is no filter of these patients coming to see you (as a specialist). Meaning, they don't have a PCP who referred them. They don't really know about the condition they are coming to see you for. Most importantly sometimes they come to see you and you aren't the correct doctor for them or their problem. This makes it a waste of their time. Additionally, patients often don't realize their insurance company won't pay for a specialist appointment without a referral. Then they are stuck with the bill.
Despite trying to be proactive and reach all patients trying to schedule with me via zocdoc and prevent the above, it still happened. I spoke to zocdoc several times and they couldn't have cared less. Focusing on, "see, you are getting patients from us".
Most harmful for the doctors is that zocdoc does NOT honor their contract in filtering/removing negative reviews. As we all know patients are more likely to write negative reviews than positive reviews. Although I have a 5 star rating with hundreds of reviews, there are three negative reviews that have nothing to do with myself (the person being reviewed) at all. When discussing this with zocdoc and proving to them that these reviews were not factual and not "the patient's opinion", they still refused to take them down stating "you have so many positive reviews, 3 bad ones isn't bad".
What I liked about zocdoc in the beginning is that they claimed to have the physicians best interest in mind. That is not the case and reading through these reviews it seems I am not the only one who feels this way.
If you are a specialist, I strongly urge you not to use this service.
ZocDoc was originally a wonderful company. I was, in fact, the first dermatologist in New Jersey to be on their site. Now they have declined into a faceless big business where employees will not even identify themselves by their full name on the phone when asked. I am terminating my account with ZocDoc over their completely inane review policy. I have more than 250 reviews on ZocDoc and a 4.8 rating, achieved over several years. The most recent review, however, is 1 star and reads "His bald head makes him look goofy, but what makes it worse is that he is more concern on how much money he can make..." That is the complete review.
A supervisor named Sam P. (who refuses to give her full name) insists that this is a legitimate review that reflects the patient's experience. I consider that idiotic. Either Sam P. Is herself incompetent, or she is simply enforcing an idiotic company policy where insulting a doctor's personal appearance is considered a reasonable review. Sam P. Went on to claim that a theoretical review that stated "the blackness of the doctor's skin made him look goofy" would also not be removed but would be considered by the "team".
When I told her that I wanted to cancel my account, she would not give out the full name of my account manager, insisted that I could not speak to someone, that calling back was futile, and that the account manager would call me back within 24 hours, and only then could I cancel my account. Needless to say I instructed American Express to discontinue all repeat billing from ZocDoc. It is very sad that what was once an innovative and seemingly great company has become another faceless internet bureaucracy
ZocDoc didn't have a doctors Insurance coverage/ "In Network" status up to date when I booked with someone. A month after I visited the doctor I received a bill for the full payment of my visit. I checked ZocDoc's site and now that doctor show's not covered. They simply just changed the In Network status, now I'm screwed. Doctors aren't liable to tell you if they're In-Network, and ZocDoc's records are broken, so I wouldn't suggest trusting their site.
Hi Konrad,
So sorry for the trouble with this appointment! We definitely want to make sure you receive the in-network experience, as our doctors do guarantee the insurances they list. Give us a call at 855-962-3621 and we can help you sort this out.

Answer: Hello Mark. Zocdoc offers a closed-loop review system that allows patients to share their experiences after being seen for an appointment booked on Zocdoc. These reviews can be found on each individual provider's Zocdoc profile. You can search for a provider at https://www.zocdoc.com/. Please let us know if we can help you find the care that you need or if there is a different set of reviews that you are trying to access at this time. You can reach our service team at (855)962-3621.
Answer: Hi Sandra, we hope that you were able to get the care that you were looking for. At Zocdoc, we are not able to offer any medical advice or guidance so we recommend you contact your doctor directly if you need to ever verify they will be able to provide the treatment you are looking for. Feel free to reach out to the Zocdoc team at (855) 962-3621 or [email protected] if there is anything we can do to help you find the care that you need.
Answer: Yes, prices appear to be around $44-180 now. Offices get charged this even for cancellations, no-shows, and fake bookings. Zocdoc has no built in protections to negate this type of booking behaviors. Why would they when they profit off it? Zocdoc also prohibits practices from talking about this fee as it violates their "community standards."
Answer: Hello Swetha. Thanks for reaching out. We'd love to help you find a doctor and book an appointment right online. If you go to www.Zocdoc.com, you can search for doctors by specialty, location, and insurance. You'll be able to see a list of doctors and their availability. Once you select a doctor, you can choose the time that is best for you. Once you complete the booking process, the doctor will receive your appointment information and confirm your appointment via email. This is completely free for you as a patient. Please give us a call at (855) 962-3621 if you need help with this or anything else!
Answer: Hi Amanda! That depends on the doctor's office! Every provider is different, so it would be best to get in touch with them about specific pricing information. Give us a call at 855-962-3621 if you have any other questions. In health, Mary M. Zocdoc Service Team
Answer: Hi Mallory! Thanks for your question! You can see a provider's reviews by viewing the full profile and scrolling down. All of the reviews will be listed there toward the left side of the page. Give us a call at (855) 962-3621 if you are having any trouble! In health, Mary M. Zocdoc Service Team
