An honest review - Zen denied my claim for a refund for 8 months taking extraordinary steps to do so. However, they recently made things right after repeated bad reviews from me. I'm hopeful Zen will take some concrete steps to improve so I am changing my rating from 1 to 3 stars.
Look at all the negative reviews, 122 at this moment. And monies taken by Zen Hotels. What recourse do dissatisfied customers have? NONE because you can't sue a Cyprus company. Why do the founders live in San Francisco and not at their company headquarters? Are they personally liable for funds stolen from innocent travelers? NO

I booked a hotel with them, and they want you to fill out your credit card info first before they confirm that theres rooms. I think they can, and should confirm if the room is available BEFORE they take your credit card details, or even name. I will never use them again

Booking was made in Feb 2020 and funds paid. Covid came and the reservation was cancelled. Zenhotels "in writing" stated a refund would be paid within 30 days. 18 months later, they still haven't paid. Multiple emails sent and calls made with no response. Its really disappointing as there doesn't appear to be any consumer protection options to escalate this. Do not use Zenhotels

I cancelled my hotel booking with ZenHotels. NO REFUND! I have checked my bank statements, talked to my bank. There is no refund, nor it is initiated as per ARN no given by you. YAC/*******. FRAUD! CHEATS

If I could leave -999 stars, I would. Long story short. I got frauded by the company. When I shopped online, I found a cabin-like room with two beds. I booked it a day before the trip and when I received a confirmation, the room type says."tent"? So I was confused. I called right away and this rep did not speak ENGLISH at all! And then he managed to hang upon me! I did not even yell at the customer rep.
So I reached out to them and demanded that the money should be refunded to me and I had to pay more for an alternative because I had to book it last minute. They agreed to give me my money back. Well, good right? Well, that was ALMOST TWO MONTHS ago. I have followed up with them almost EVERY SINGLE WEEK. But a different person answers my email every single time and no action has been made.
I had a trip in Chicago, found out the day of they charged my card but never paid the hotel. Hotel said I had to find somewhere else to stay, didn't refund me. Absolutely awful customer service, months later they told me they wouldn't refund.

I paid a 53m2 room with zenhotels.com, the hotel gave me a 22m2, i called 40 days before to let know Zen that in the hotel my booking wasn't right, they didn't do anything, i got there, gave me the 22m2 and call from there 2 times telling Zen, they didn't do anything as well, i've been calling ever since, they just don't call or reply back

Nous avons booké une nuit, puis demandé un changement de date. L'hôtel concerné a accepté sans hésiter, mais avait besoin de l'annulation de la part de Zenhotel. Nous avons contacté le service-client à DEUX reprises, notre hôte a même rappelé pour nous, et il nous a été affirmé que l'annulation était en cours. Nous attendons toujours cette fameuse confirmation d'annulation car sans elle, le check-in ne pouvait se faire... La nuit étant bien avancé, nous avions finalement laissé tomber! Sans nouvelle de Zenhotel, ni d'un quelconque email prouvant le changement effectué. Notre hôte nous a dit que cela devait prendre 10 minutes maximum, au bout de 4h, toujours rien. Zenhotel n'a rien de "zen" et est à éviter absolument... C'est une arnaque!

Scam, business trip, reservation cancelled on time, never received the money, and no answers to my mail. Never use ZenHotels.com.
Working for a large company the website was block and at least no employee of my company falls into the traps. In addition a complaint to the Italian police plus one to the Dutch police, it will be fairy in such a way that this webside shell be closed.

I booked a hotel through this website but the hotel says that they have still not received the payment from this website as they have not released the payment yet from their end even though i have done a full payment... this zen hotel company is a scammer they will run with your money. Everytime i call them they say that they are working on my issue but its been four days and still no resolution. Highly unprofessional of them. Big scammers.

My issue was resolved...they released the money and got resolution...thdy are not scammers as i have not faced the similar issue again and again booked the hotel multiple times from them after the resolution..

I am never going to use a 3rd party booking service again. I booked a hotel with Zenhotels.com, then canceled it with the hotel. Apparently I should have done this with Zen first. When I canceled the hotel rep said no problem, I'd get my refund. I even told them it had been done through a 3rd party. This was in March. When I called Zen, and emailed them repeatedly, they said my case was pending. Finally, the last message I received was this... saying to make a scan of the official claim. When I asked them about making a claim I was directed to a Canadian Law site that charges $85 a month to ask lawyers a question. I am so sick and tired of this. Any advice out there? ZenHotels #ripoffs #norefunds

Since our company is not a hotel supplier itself or a hotel owner, we cannot make decisions on refunds independently without confirmation from our partners. Dear Maureen, we are extremely sorry that you’ve had to deal with the cancellation issue. It may have happened because of non refundable booking policy. We will be able to tell more if we learn your booking number. Please share if you do not mind.
Travel date July 15-17th. Booked the room in advance (February) at a 5 star hotel. Pre-paid (USD$$$ even).
Received confirmation of booking. Printed all documents. Arrive at destination - hotel does not have our booking. We travelled 4+ hours (mother and 2 kids), no reservation available. Told by hotel to contact booking service. Contacted ZenHotels who said they would look into it and communicate by email.
Hours pass, only to be told that they cannot secure our room and there are no rooms available anywhere else. They will refund my account. Stranded away from home, out hundreds of dollars and no help.
Terrible - scam alert.

Zenhotels took my money and never sent it to the hotel. I arrived at the hotel late after a 12 hour drive and not only did they not have my reservation but they had no rooms. Very nice thing to happen to a lady in another country. I tried repeatedly to deal with their customer service to pay for the only hotel in town with a room at double the amount I had paid with them. They promised me over and over again that the funds would be with by bank between 3 and 31 days. They never did anything but I have tons of emails that they did. Stay away from them!

We have booked rooms 3 months ago and we have got our confirmation, after reaching to the hotel they say that someone has canceled our booking, so they have asked us to call zen hotels. Zen hotel customer has never responded nor made a refund for our booking. Horrible experience and it's a night mare for us. We could only find room after 3 hours of waiting on road and we have paid in double.

ZenHotels has given me so much stress. Do not *******@zenhotels in reserving rooms to any parte of The world. I fully paíd a room at reddoorz premium sta. Rosa tagaytay road which eventually it is The Whitewoods Convention & Leisure Hotel Whitewoods Leisure And Convention Whitewoods Convention and Leasure Hotel same address as this hotel and The problem was The hotel is already not connected to reddoorz. ZenHotels still publish in their site that reddoorz is still connected with Whitewoods Hotel which is not. Tried to email then for several Times since yesterday and yet no action/ solution til today. DO not trust this online reservation. SCAM!

I have done two bookings many months ago for the summer holidays, a month ago they replied saying there was a problem with the reservations! Now I don't have holidays they haven't refund the money yet :( :( :( keep calling them everyday

Absolutely the worst. Save yourself a whole lot of frustration and choose another booking company. They did not refund any money to me even though the hotel canceled the reservation and the cost refunded to them. Thieves!
