NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS SITE! If you've have no complications with your orders here, then you are lucky! I went to purchase three items from this site, which came to over $62 Canadian dollars! The money was taken from my account, but then they cancelled the order due to the items being "out of stock", even though they were not advertised as such. When I requested the money that was taken from me back, they refused and said that THEY DON'T TAKE PAYMENT UNTIL THE ITEMS ARE SHIPPED. If that's true, then the money would NOT have been taken from my account!

I recently ordered a Japanese video game, four Japanese books, and a Japanese manga from YesAsia.com.
It was my first time ordering from overseas, and I was pretty nervous that something would go wrong. Thankfully everything went great, even better than I had expected.
The estimated delivery date was about a month after I placed the order, but I still ended up getting it within about 2-3 weeks. Only about 2 days was spent in Customs.
The packaging was very good. The four big art books were layed in first, then the video game and manga on top of them. Then, everything was wrapped in ALOT of bubble wrap. I mainly got the art books for the visuals, of course, so if they had been damaged I would not have been happy.
A small annoyance I had was that 3 of the Items were listed as IN-STOCK, but after I placed the order I noticed that they were actually in the process of waiting for the stock to arrive on a truck.
I also got free shipping on my order because they were celebrating an anniversary.
Please DO NOT buy from YESASIA. I have an order email which confirmed that my order (a book) that was shipped on 29 May 2013. It is July, and I did not receive it. I called US customer service center. They say they will assume that the order is "lost", and will ship another one. Sounds reasonable enough, except, they were not able to tell me when the "new" order is expected to arrive, as they will have to order the book in to get it "in stock", before they can ship it. As I will be moving to another location, I asked if they can ship it to another address, and the answer was that they will have to charge me another shipping fee. I then asked for a refund of my order. And they said they were unable to refund my order.
This is tantamount to Fraud. As I do not have a shipping nor tracking proof that the order has been shipped. And am unable to know when the "new" order will arrive. And cannot get my money back. I am appreciative that they have a real human being to answer the phone though. And said that I will post about my experience online so that other people will not suffer the same consequence. She finally agreed to refund my money. It is not a huge amount. But I would not trust this supplier.
I had ordered a CD+VCD which was gonna take about 2 weeks to get. Well I decided to cancel it a few days later as the person I was buying it for decided they did not want it. The cancellation process was easy and Yesasia communicates pretty fast through their email.

1st of all,, They claim not to charge you until your items are shipped. ''That is FALSE!''
A pending charge on my VISA shows the full amount.
Pending charges on a Card are the same as the money not being in your account.
Because it is held. So you cannot use it.
So now I am having to communicate with both my Bank and Yesasia to try and get my money back into my account.
Yesasia also emailed me and stated that it is the Bank that needs to release the funds.
My Bank states it is Yesasia (takes 3-5days) Today is day 3.
We will see in another day or two if I will ever see my money again.
I will never ever order from Yesasia ever again!
As well as stay away from using a card soon. Too much of a pain in the@$$.
My go to place for Asian goodies! Authentic and great pricing. The only downside is the shipping time... it took several weeks to a month for my CDs to arrive.

If you wanna find any related CD's regarding to k-pop, c-pop and j-pop. This is one of the place you get them. Also for the manga lovers, you can get the manga here (but of coz it's in japanese). Previously they do offer free shipping (u need to make sure your items have free shipping label on it) regardless on what amount you buy (of coz free shipping means u need to wait longer 7-14days) BUT just few months ago I bought some CD's from them, guess what? U still get free shipping but u need to spend more than 30 USD (If I'm not mistaken). Well, all that matters is your choice and your items arrived safely.
Great place to find some hard to find import stuff. Shipping was Free and I hope that continues. I hate hidden shipping costs!

The representative has no way of knowing if it's the customer's bank or the business bank. I've had this happen a few times over the years. From my point of view it gives the banking system more time to dink around with your money. Frustrating.

Answer: I've "lost" confirmation emails before as well, I'm not sure if they were just never sent or my email filtered them out and the spam folder was automatically cleared before I could resurrect it but as long as your order history page has confirmation of the order and it has a pending status on it you should be fine. Also, check if all of your items are kept in stock. If you're purchasing an item that they have to acquire first it can take 30 days or more for them to even receive the items and then prepare for shipping.
