I recently ordered over 40 votives and they do not burn as clean as they used to. Some wax is left in the bottom that has to be scraped out. They used to burn until nothing was left! Very disappointed that the quality has changed. I will be finding a new brand.
Yankee Candles are by far my favourite brand. They offer a huge variety of smells and none of them disappoint. It's been confirmed with them they don't use animal products which is a huge plus. Only thing to watch out for is picking the right sized jar because you need to let it burn until the entire upper layer has soften or else it creates a memory circle and next time it's lit, it will burn downwards of that circle and would hardly reach the outside. So bigger is not always better because the large ones take 5-6 hours at least and it's not always practical if it so happens that you need to run out and put it off before its done. So my suggestion would be to stock up on several different sizes and use them depending on how much time you have. Another thing to note is according to them, the wick should be 3mm or less but personally I have found it to burn much better if you let it be until the top end splits. Also some consider them to be overpriced but I believe you get what you pay for. Cheaper brands tend to burn much quicker and the scent is nowhere near as intense so overall ends up being a waste of money. Plus they offer great discounts and have monthly reductions on selected ranges so you can stock up easily when the time is right. (Would also suggest you splurge on a wick trimmer though nail clippers will do just fine)
This company doesn't care about Americans having jobs! There taking cust service jobs away from americans and giving to the Phillipines. If you want to support products made in the USA... DON'T buy Yankee Candle. You will have a very difficult time getting assistance with damaged products! I had an entire order RUINED by greasy oil from a refill that shattered. They only replaced my broken refill! After I spent hundreds of dollars in their product! DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY! Find a company that CARES about Americans!
I have been a buyer of Yankee Candles for years but that is changing as of right now. I bought 10 candles to have shipped to my house for our work Christmas party and upon arrival, one of the candles were broke. I have sent multiple emails to the customer service department and have received NO response back at all. I requested a replacement candle and said if needed I would send the broken one back. I work in Customer Service and to see customers issues get unresolved is highly irritating and not up to business standards. So thanks to these lousy business standards one of my co-workers didn't receive a present for Christmas and they now do know why.
My shipment was damaged and I had to return it for a replacement. It cost me $50.50 to return it because they don't supply a return shipping label.
Emails every day... So annoying! Yes I did unsubscribe. Yes I did go to my account and make sure my preferences were set correctly. I finally had to mark them as spam which I hate to do for legitimate businesses. It took about a week for them to get the product out of their warehouse but once on the road it go here in a reasonable amount of time. So be patient on delivery time. Product is fine. (got melt cups). Took off a star for the email annoyance.
After a little confusion over the order status and a call to Yankee to clarify what was happening I wanted to update to say that Yankee customer service was very helpful meriting a 4 star update. They answered the call quickly. The nice guy that helped me actually listened to my concerns/complaint and offered excellent customer service with a good resolution. Not sure I will use their online ordering again, but will continue to buy Yankee candles at my local store.
Placed an order online and was under the impression it was 6-8 days shipping. Needed the candles for a gift. Received an email stating they were working on the order and tracking info would follow. 6 days later and no tracking number so call customer service. After holding 20 minutes get told order not even ready to ship, can take 10-12 days then ship out! Asked if I could cancel the order and would go buy in store. Was told no I couldn't cancel. The next day the $100 pending charge was removed from my account. I guess that means they cancelled the order. No email or call to confirm what they did. Off to the store today to buy the gift. If my friend didn't specifically ask for YC I would have bought her something else.
The very strong scent emitted from the dancing flames (long 3 inch wide wicker) candle wax in square shaped low set glass... smells even when not lit and smells even more when lit... This is exceptionally unhealthy in my opinion: I read commonly emitted VOCs related to the scent in candles include toxins like formaldehyde, petroleum distillates, limonene, alcohol and esters. These harmful chemicals can cause health problems ranging from headaches, dizziness and allergy symptoms to asthma attacks, respiratory tract infections and even cancer... I LOVE THIS CANDLE AND WANT IT TO BE MADE UNSCENTED (is this too much to ask for?) I do not care if they continue to make these toxic ones but should have a healthy choice as unscented candles for the health conscious consumers. I burned this candle for a total of 20 minutes and smelt this strong scent with every breath i took being 3 feet from the candle OUTSIDE. Yes my throat was sore the next day (season allergy made worse by exposure to these toxins.) I don"t care that the sales team claim that its all healthy ingredients. How so? How is the scent natural that we are smelling when its all chemicals we are inhaling? -The fire whisperer
Every time I order Yankee candles online, they arrive broken. What's worse is that customer service doesn't care. I will never order online again.
Where do I start? What a waste of money I purchased several (5) large jar Yankee Candles and not one of them burned right The wick burns down the center creating a well leaving a ton of wasted wax along the inside of the jar Every single candle did this The candle itself has some fragrance but when the candles are burning there is no fragrance in my house from the candles When the wick burns out there is still about a fourth of the candle left too I light my canldes for at least 5-6 hours if not longer at a time I give them plenty of time to burn right but never happened with any of them The cheaper candles I buy at Wal-Mart (Better Homes & Garden) burn like they are supposed to as well as leave fragrance in my house and burn all the way down I will not waste any more of my money on a Yankee Candle I feel completely ripped off by this company and think they have a lot of nerve selling their candles for the incredibly high price that they sell them for What a waste of money! Everyone should be made aware of these defects with these highly over prices candles That's alot of money (about $28 per candle) to waste! You definitely do not get what you pay for with this company You are paying for the company's name you are not paying for a good product
Been buying yankee for 25 years, not same product, no smell. Bought my last McIntosh apple. Will just do electric candles going forward
Customer service is horrible. Not only will I never order online again, but the customer service they gave me was so bad I will never buy another product from them ever again. I always gave them out as gifts so I hope they enjoy the 500.00 a year they wont be recieving from me.
Ordered from Yankee candle did not go through ordered again and did not go through, but charged my account twice and is not coming off for 3 days and still no order, they said I can order over phone. Then would be third deduction out of my account and still not sure if I would get order. Bull do not order from Yankee candle. Women at Yankee candle on phone was rude and un helpful. Told me to call bank. Never in my life have a problem ordering online until yankee candle. Be very very aware of their tactics and rudeness
I have bought their candles for over 20 years and am disappointed in the candles they are making now. They let you exchange the candle if it has no scent, but the problem is the next candle has no scent either. They say that nothing different has been done to their candles, but that is not true because they must be putting less scent into the candles. Very saddened.
As usual, bought two large Christmas candles this year, Balsam & Cedar and Shimmering Pine. No scent. Will find another candle source.
Ii's so sad. I bought, 4 candles. Citrus and sage, mid summer's night, rose and pink sands. One by one no scent. I cant believe they would destroy their own co. Which they will in time.
I bought a pack of the wax melts & they smell wonderful, but the scent lasted maybe 4 to 6 hours. I can buy cheap melts at Walmart and they last longer! I will not buy Yankee candle anymore!
This is an awesome candle site and the candles are absolutely fabulous. They last for a long time and the scent is strong but not overpowering. I would recommend these to anyone
I ordered candles online. I got an email stating that they are being shipped. Only to get an email a week later saying they were out of everything I ordered but one thing
I ordered some great sale items online. Received email, shipping today. Then received FedEx tracking number. On schedule. Was supposed to receive November 27. Did not receive, called FedEx. FedEx informed me that yankee candle didn't release to FedEx, only label created and supposed arrival date. Called YC. Zero concern. Zero interest. Zero niceness. Wasn't interested in my FedEx call. Yelled over me and stated it's on it's way and hung up before I could ask or say anything. Shameful, disgust and left me close to tears. I called my bank, they are crediting me and will handle the rest. This was the first and last experience with yankee candle. Horrid.
