I spent 50.00 on two Apple, Pumpkin scented candles and you can barely smell them. I exspected a better product from this company. These candles should smell up my house for that price!
So I ordered candles from the yankee candle website. They said they were delivered on Sat. August 29,2020! Well they were not! So I call them. They use Fed ex. They then tell me they are sitting at the post office! Why, I do not know! As we were home on Sat. Fed ex did not leave a note, they never even tried to deliver them! Nobody told me they were at the post office! I swear, MORONS! PISSED OFF! THANK YOU YANKEE CANDLE!
I ordered a lot of candles on sale. They emailed saying we were unable to ship one or more items. They canceled ALL but one candle! No explanation in email. I called and they said candles were out of stock. But when I checked their site, sure as $#*!, they show in stock! They just didn't want to sell them for the $6.63 price they had on them! FALSE ADVERTISING!
Then they wasted a bunch of my time with emails saying they would make it right, asking me a bunch of info about my order, saying someone would call me to reorder. Weeks later... crickets. Bull$#*!!
Shady business I will STAY AWAY from. NEVER shopping there again.
Yankee Candle sent me over $400 worth of Scent Plugs and other products that were partially or completely damaged, which besides not working also leaked all over the floor and carpets of my new office. Customer service was no real help and made any type of return an impossible process. I have been a loyal customer for years, spending $100s per order, but will never be buying from them again. Faulty products, even though it was all in the order, is a small problem compared to the complete disregard shown by customer service. I'm now out my money, have to get the carpets cleaned, and have to buy another product to supply my office, done with Yankee Candle!
I have come to HATE Yankee Candle but my wife loves them so I continue the battle. EVERY time I order online there is an issue. Upon moving to Myrtle Beach, we learned there were two stores here and thought our Yankee Candle conundrum was over. They shutdown the better of the two stores. Now, due to Covid-19 pandemic; I am back to battling online and customer service issues. I had a coupon for Buy 3, Get 3. After carefully placing my order and putting in coupon code, I submitted order. For some reason my debit card didn't process at that time, but it did process an hour later; after the order had already been processed on credit card. I was confused because my debit card had more than enough to cover the $113 and some few cents that attempted to be processed. An hour later I received a notification from my bank that Yankee Candle had charged my debit card, my confusion became more complex. I than checked my credit card online only to find Yankee Candle had processed $210 and some few cents to my credit card; this was the amount WITHOUT my coupon. I pick up the phone to make the dreaded "customer service" call. I informed "Richard" that I was livid and if he couldn't deal with it to go ahead and get me a supervisor. He assured me he was capable... FYI, he wasn't. The charge on my debit card was reversed, so I told "Richard" to cancel the order and reverse the charges on my credit card. He told me he could only refund and it would be put back on my card in 3-5 business days. After screaming numerous choices words and two requests for supervisor I thought I was going to get somewhere. NOPE! The supervisor told me I had two options; had the difference refunded or cancel order and refund the entire amount. I told her neither. I wanted my charges reversed. She said it couldn't be done; BUT they had reversed the charges to my debit card. I have worked as General Manager for years and I know it can be done. I also told her if she cancelled the order that she would lose a customer. At this point I have been on the phone for an hour and I needed compensation for having to do the job Yankee Candle should have done correctly the first time. She then tells me she has a third option. WAIT! She just told me I had two, where did this third option come from? This is where the poor customer service comes in. She tells me as a one time deal, she will ship my complete order and refund my the full amount. That sounds great! BUT remember the poor customer service! She guaranteed me she would personally keep an eye on my order and as soon as it shipped, she would process a refund. Skeptically, I agreed. This all took place Thursday, May 7,2020. My order shipped Monday, May 11,2020 and was received on Wednesday, May 13,2020. I still hadn't seen a refund on my card so, again I pick up the phone for the dreaded call. I spoke with "Wendy" to explain the situation. She had to look at the order. Can you guess what happened? That's right boys and girls! The refund hadn't been processed yet! Wendy assured me she has now processed it; yeah, right. Meanwhile, here we are on Friday, May 15,2020. I am sick and tired of the lies that Yankee Candle customer service spews from its vial mouth. They care nothing about customer service; only your money. The CEO needs to be fired. The head of customer care needs to be fired. 96 reviews on sitejabbers gives them a 1.56 stars. This is not acceptable as a business. If the CEO will contact me, I will be more than happy to explain why the / she is a failure. Please shut the doors on this horrible company.
I ordered over $150 in products that I didn't receive. I emailed customer care requesting a refund and they took a long time to respond. They still haven't issued my refund but decided to close my file and decided the matter was taken care of satisfactorily. By not issuing my requested refund? The products were bought in Feb. And it's now May. Repeated follow up emails have gone ignored. Don't give this company your money; you may not get your product or your money back!
I ordered candles online April 4th. When checking my order, the status had not change. With the understanding of delays with orders being shipped, a response or some type of communication would have been nice. I emailed customer service 3 days later and received no response. Emailed again 2 days later, no response. And still when checking on the website, nothing was happening. My order hadn't even been touched, although they had no problem charging my card. The lack of communication by this company is unacceptable. They don't even have any type of time frames on their website to say that it will take WEEKS to even process an order. Seeing that most people are working from home, you would think an email response would be possible. I even called customer service and spoke with someone who had terrible cell service and eventually ended up hanging up. This has been the most disappointing and frustrating experience ever.
I am writing this opinion I think is important to warn other customers about the danger of using small Yankee candles. As a designer, I am aware that companies should be responsible for what they design, and that products that are not safe should not be sold!
One evening I put a Yankee candle in a warmer like I always do. I fell asleep and a few hours later I woke up terrified in room filled with dark smoke and with a burned closet (see photos).
After almost having a fire in my house, I contacted the company to let them know that something is seriously wrong with their product. I sent them photos of what happened in my house
They said that the fragrant tea light candles have oils that make the fragrance and since it was used to warm up the oil in a closed compartment of the wax warmer, the vapors from the oils in the candle and the oil in the upper open compartment can result in fire and it is a probable safety hazard, so their best advice is not to use a fragrant tea light candle for warming up oil or wax.
They also offered me a big candle for free but I didn't take it. A real problem was ignored by the company, and not by mere consumer service, but by quality control.
It's obvious that people may use that in a warmer as it looks like a regular tea light. It's very misleading because Yankee also sells warmers that look like mine. The information on their website is also confusing and even if the information is written on the candle, I think the company should foresee these problems, which arise from a normal use of the candle.
Also these small candles on the Polish website are called podgrzewacze" and warmer in Polish is called podgrzewacz". So it seems to be obvious you can use them together.
I am not expert but the regular tea lights are in aluminium and I never had problems with them. Even the chapest candles in plastic containers that we use in cementary candles they don't't burn to zero
I am really disappointment I hope that this mistake will be fixed before someone burns their whole house and get hurt.
In January, the petite WoodWick candle burned through its holder leaving a burn mark in my tub. I immediately contacted Yankee Candle. Let's just say it isn't going well. It's now April 6,2020 and still unresolved. Spoke to customer service... they were pretty useless. Requested supervisor. Was disconnected several times then put on hold for quite some time. Finally was told it's in proper dept as priority. (Sent estimate for repair) supervisor on 3 separate occasions was to get back to me. Never did. I called again last week & spoke to new supervisor. Same old story. I even wrote their corporate office about everything & nobody got in touch with me. Their defective candle could have burned my house down. The estimate was not a lot
Of money ($275) A business as large as YC should have handled this much better. I cannot tell you how irresponsible the company is. I'm still trying to get my tub fixed. They should be ashamed of themselves. They certainly do not put customers first or respect their customers. I have numerous emails to them & numerous phone calls made to them & they don't care. I will NEVER purchase anything by them again.
I used to love Yankee Candle and purchased all my candles from them. Over the last couple years however it seems their customer service has gone downhill and I prefer to purchase from other retailers such as Bath and Body Works. Yankee Candle has closed almost all their stores in my area so I have to drive across town to the only one left to shop. Recently I got there and was told their system wasn't processing payments so I should leave. I did some other shopping and came back later that day and was told the same thing. I get system malfunctions happen but customer service was not good as they just told me to leave. I went home and ordered the candles online since my coupon was expiring that day. I hate ordering online from Yankee Candle because they take FOREVER to process your order and then FOREVER to ship it and have it delivered. It usually takes at least 2 full weeks to get an order I placed online and it's frustrating because they send you tracking info that does not update and just tells you your order is "in the warehouse". They are good candles and I love them when I have them but it seems like getting them is becoming more and more in inconvenient.
I had a very negative online experience
I had a very negative online experience over the holidays. My items were weeks late and my credit card was over charged. I called customer service multiple times and each time I never got through due to excessive hold times. I sent over 12 emails, with no response. My concerns are still not resolved. Do not purchase from the online store.
Paying that much for a candle is crazy, they must of changed something, there is very very little fragrance, will not but again
I emailed Yankee on January 16,2020 regarding an issue with a cancelled order. Deborah S. From Fundraising, reponded within 2.5 hours. I emailed Deborah today and she called me within 15 minutes. Incredible service AND Deborah was professional, kind & understanding. THANK YOU Debbie for handling my situation so well.
One of the candles I received in my order arrived broken. I called and was told I'd receive a replacement. That order was cancelled for some reason. I called again and spent at least 30 minutes on the phone, was told that it would be sent, and for me not to cancel it this time. I didn't cancel anything. It's been over a month and I have still not received the replacement or my money back. I used to order frequently but NEVER again! Bath and Body Works is much better in every way!
Order Candles when they had the 5 for $55 sale. I have gotten the same scents in the past, but not sure if this was a bad batch but they have no smell at all! Seems like their quality is going down hill, why sell candles with scents if they don't give off any. Last purchase from Yankee candle.
Happiness Guarantee.
Yankee Candle you fail! "Happiness Guarantee" in fact Disappoint Guarantee. I place an order online on 12/16/2019 and I received a confirmation information with an order number w*******769 standard shipping 6-8 days. Because of Holidays I let days pass as consideration. Days pass, weeks pass and I start to concerned. I decided to sent an email finally on January 4,2020 asking about the status. NOBODY replies, checked spam emails just in case I cover all the bases. Today January 7th, 2020 I called. The gentleman in the line apologize etc. the explanation in other words was order was on hold on the warehouse, he said he talked or will with the warehouse to release it. I told him that I was patient enough and that I need it for this upcoming Saturday. That I also sent email and nobody replies nobody calls me. He said he will be informed that to the warehouse and that I will be receiving emails about it. I already beyond disappointed already. We hang up. Later I check the email and SURPRISE! The 1st line on top of the copy of my order said in RED Cancelled Item(s). I called again. After verifying my information several times, the lady confirmed my order was CANCELLED! WHY? Because they don't have it supposedly in stock, that I have to place an order again REALLY! I told her that wasn't what the other person told me, if I don't call, I'm probably be hoping waiting to received it for nothing because they never called you or informed you properly to manage your order. I order the same item year ago and never had this level of irresponsibility, lack of business skill and poor and neglected customer service. Why I have to place the order again? Yankee Candle mess up the entire process, why you don't fix it in any of the 2 phone calls I did or email that I sent and informed in a timely matter what was going on to fix it. Why I have to go to the struggle again to order online? Why if you don't have the one, I order why you don't offer right away change it for other one available to avoid your customer go again thru all the process? Who will guarantee that if I place the order online again you will have it available and waste my time again? You don't have an idea of how much important and how much this gift that I was waiting meant to me. This was an awful experience!
I was given a candle as a gift. It has no smell when burning, Get candles from Bath and Body Works from now on,
Stay away, don't be fooled. Ordered 6 candles on a deal that they had advertised, spend over $75.00 and get free shipping. No fine print. After I went through the order I noticed that I was being charged $15.40 for shipping so tried to cancel the order minutes afterwards. Called and emailed to cancel. Still received order with one less candle and got charged $36.81 from FedEx. Now they can't cancel it since its been delivered and returned so will keep. But after reviewing my Pay Pal account I was charged twice for the same order. After several emails and long awaited phone calls, they say they didn't charge me twice but the proof is on my credit card... STAY AWAY and NEVER ORDER from them...
I ordered online during the promo for buy 3 get 3 free. After they shipped my incomplete order I received an email saying they were out of 2 items. I was never asked if I would like a different scent, why would they they were free! Over an hour and still on hold! Never again, I can go to Kohl's, Hallmark etc. to get a Yankee Candle. For such a large company I'm very disappointed in their treatment of loyal customers! Try candles from Bath and Body or Old World Market! Better than Yankee Candle!
I purchased a container and package of scented sticks to go in a bedroom along with several large jars. The sticks had no fragrance and I threw them away. Last purchase I will make from Yankee Candle.
