Placed an order, then a few hours later they cancelled it because they were actually out of stock. I was frustrated but can understand some delay in stock vs. sales. I later placed the order again, and after a WEEK they finally emailed that my products had shipped, but then after 2 more days the tracking number still hadn't been activated, meaning they hadn't actually sent it yet. When I order and it says "8-10 business days," I don't expect that to be the amount of time it takes them to start to ship it... I wanted it within 8-10 days! Their site and customer service is a disaster and I won't be buying from them again after this experience.
Do not buy online! Received a broken up candle. Have been trying to reach them online (no response) and buy phone twice. Was on hold 45 minutes then1 1/2hours! WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER CANDLE FROM THEM! Oh and there was no glass in the box so the candle was shipped that way!
First call I waited for over an hour. Second call I waited for 90 minutes. I emailed customer service with no response. Still no order. Worst experience ever.
Ordered candles a month later they had not arrived. Went on the website but you cannot contact them by email so you have to call. After being on hold for an hour and a half I was told only one of the 8 candles I had ordered was still available. They offered to substitute random other candles--yeah that's what a customer want random smells. Awesome solution Yankee. Then I got to hold some more while I waited for a supervisor. Just fabulous customer service! Why did my candles never come? Why can't I email the company instead of wasting so much of my time to address their error? Why would anyone think random candle smells is a viable solution!
They now hire out customer service overseas to the Philippines. I placed an order with a BOGO coupon code. The order total should have been $65.93, but instead they charged my care $115.92. The first day I called I was kept on hold for 37 minutes, then hung up. The next I called and got someone in the Philippines after being on hold for 20 minutes. There was nothing she could do and she told me I would have to call back after my order shipped. Never again will I buy from Yankee Candle. Going to Harry Slatkin candles from now on.
THOSE JERKS LEFT ME ON HOLD FOR 3 HOURS. I HAD ONE OF MY CANDLES TOTTALY SMASHED. I HATE THIS PLACE IM SO SICK OF THIS CRAP.
Spent hundreds of dollars on 3 orders and 2 items arrived smashed. No response for a month now, after sending videos, at least 7 emails etc. The reason i purchased online in the first place is so i don't have to travel to their store. Never again.
After my order was not credited with a 10% discount I had put in, I immediately tried to cancel the order. I got the message the site was not available, try later. After many unsuccessful attempts, I called customer service. She couldn't see my order. I emailed customer relations and a few emails later was told the order was cancelled. At this point my credit card was not charged. Days later got an email saying my order was shipped. Many ignored emails later, the package arrived and my card was charged. The response to my final email was the mail box was full. Full of complaints I am sure. Well I gave up and kept the order but I will leave a bad review everywhere I can and never order again.
You cant place an order online once you get to the payment method it will have you input your card information then the screen will disappear, I called to speak with a customer service rep she placed me on hold for 30 minutes, couldn't find my order, I then called back 1 hour later hoping to get someone else that can help me, same outcome, I was placing a large order to pass out to my patients for thanksgiving they just lost out I will not place an order in the future nor will I recommend Yankee candle to anyone else. If you cant buy it in the store do not try it online worst mistake guaranteed.
One candle lit, used to smell up the whole house. Now, if they don't smell like melted crayons, I smell nothing at all! So disappointing! I am currently burning lilac, it's almost burned out and not once have I smelled it, NOT ONCE!
I have ordered candles from Yankee for over 20 years and have never received a package with broken candles in it. The glass used in the jar seems thinner! I'm not sure that I'm willing to risk lighting these candles and walking away because of the flimsy nature of the glass. I'm returning all to my local store. Yankee please don't let your standards. I have always enjoyed the quality of your entire product but you will lose a dedicated customer if you're willing to rush quality and lower standards for a few pennies.
Awful, awful company.
Abysmal customer service received from Yankee Candle.
I purchased a pack of the car vent sticks (Midsummer Nights) and fitted one into my car.
Within a day or so, the scent was non-existent (it was only a faint smell initially) so I contacted their customer service dept to complain.
I received an email from a Konrad who was less than helpful and asked me to produce receipts, photographs and other details to enable them to proceed with the complaint enquiry.
I sent them what they asked for, but apparently missed something off the photographs so he asked me to send additional information.
Now bearing in mind this was a £5.00 purchase (probably costing YC a quid at most), the level of things I was being asked to do as a disgruntled customer, was absolutely ridiculous. Any decent company would've apologised and sent a replacement or a voucher etc. Not Yankee Candle though!
I told Konrad to forget it and stick my complaint where the sun doesn't shine.
Dreadful, dreadful company that I will never use again.
Never seen such bad reviews For a company on all the big review sites!
Shame on you YC Directors for not doing something about it!
CAN GET NO ONE TO RESPOND TO YOUR EMAILS AND WHEN YOU CALL YOUR ON HOLD FOR HOUR AND THEY HANG UP ON YOU, I PLACE AN ORDER ON SEPTEMBER 2 AND TWO WEEKS LATER THEY SAID IT WAS DELIVER WHEN IT WASNT SO NOW I AM A MONTH WITH NO HELP FROM YANKEE CANDLES AND I BUY THE CANDLES ALL THE TIME BUT I GO TO THE STORE I WILL NEVER ORDER THE CANDLES ON LINE EVER AGAIN THE WORST SERVICES EVERY PLEASE IF YOU BUY THE CANDLES GO TO THE STORE FOR THEM.
I have to say, I love Yankee Candles. They always burn the longest and have the best scents. I recently placed an online order with yankeecandles.com and it said 6-8 day shipping. No problem. I received an email shortly after I placed my order that one of the candles was out of stock. Again, no problem, I'll just let my other five candles ship. Then it was crickets. I never received an order confirmation for the other candles and/or tracking information. I also looked up the order information on their website and it still showed candles in warehouse 6 days after I placed my order. So I chatted with them online and they said my order was pending shipment and she clarified that it shipped out and I should receive it any day now. I was asked if I wanted to order a different candle in place of the one that was out of stock and so I did. She called me and took my credit card information and the order was processed. I finally received my tracking information for the initial order and it was JUST shipped out the same day of my complaint. Again, WTF! I also did not receive my order confirmation for the new candle. The next day I received a message on Facebook from a girl with my same name and said she received an email from Yankee Candle that was an order confirmation for MY order. She managed to find me on Facebook by the name, address, and phone number in the email. I am livid. I contacted Yankee Candle and all they said was they have their IT department looking into it but it looks like the system generated an order confirmation to the wrong Megan Bishop. Thankfully it did not have any sensitive information in the email but it very well could have and it would have been completely their fault. I am not pleased with their service and will never order online from them again.
I had a horrible experience with my recent online order at yankeecandles.com. I order candles from online website all the times but this last time was the worst of the worst. They had the deal buy 2 get 2 at the time. At check out I put in my promotion code and prices looked correct with promotion applied with taxes included. Then I made my payment with the price shown. A few days later, while checking my statement, it showed they charged me 8 large candle tumblers at FULL price (which should be only 1/2 the amount due to buy 2 get 2 promotion). I immediately called customer service and expressed my concerns of why I was overcharged from the amount I'm supposed to pay. The representive apologized and said they had a system update recently and had a glitch. She told me I need to call back when I received my order, as of right now she can't do anything about it but will put notations down in my account so it would be easier when I call back. A week later after my order arrived, I called customer service again and stated my problem. It was a different rep this time (Arleen) and she has no clue about my problems after I provided my order information to her. There was no notations about my previous call. I was literally on the phone for 30 minutes because I was put on "hold" back and forth many times. I was asked what promotion code I used for the purchase. I mean, if you are a big company like this wouldn't you have some kind of system to keep customer order history on hand? She seems like I was lying about promotion. If you buy candles from Yankee candles, you would know they have BOGO deals almost every 2 weeks. After many pauses and "hold" sessions, The rep said she would credit back the amount I was overcharged but she was unable to tell me the exact amount with taxes which I paid for. It was just simple math. I just needed to know the amount so I can check my credit card statement but the girl kept talking in circles and couldn't be confident of her answers of how much I'm supposed to get back. She said I would get a confirmation email as I'm speaking to her about the refund but I never received any emails the whole time talking to her. I got so frustrated and asked to speak with her supervisor who can help me with my problem because I don't have time to call back and be "on hold" for another 30 mins. She had me waited a while and told me she couldn't find her manager. She finally did the math and told me the amount I'm supposed to get back and RE-ASSURED that amount is CORRECT and I would see in email explanation. It's been 3 days and I have not received any confirmation emails. Although, I did received a refund on credit card statement but was not the correct amount I was overcharged. It was less than what I'm supposed to get back. I guess the Rep who helped me made up a lie so she can complete her job on the phone with me... who knows!
I'm very upset not because I was overcharged because of system glitched because these things happens all the time. I am very frustrated and upset because of the way the company handles my situation. Seems like they have no organizations of customer order histories. If they had a system glitch and is aware of the problem, wouldn't there be an automated email going out to notify their customers to contact them? If I didn't check my credit card statement carefully then I would be overcharged for 4 large tumblers which is over $120. This is really wasting a lot of my time and effort. Be careful and don't let this Scamming method happen to you too.
No. Smell, the tarts I bought at a Yankee candle shop are odorless, so I have wasted my money, I have bought tarts online that were great, but these not so much, plus the staff at the store were dismal and unfriendly
My candles were broken in transit. They offered the refund and same special but none of the candles are available I wanted.
I ordered the Fresh Mint candle from Yankee Candle; the large jar. It came last week and I opened the container over the weekend. I could not believe it. The candle had previously been burned. The wick was black from being lit and there was and there was black residue on the glass lid.In addition the outside of the jar was oily. Had to clean if off. I have bought these candles for over thirty years and never received anything so disgusting. In addition there were advertisements from other companies with the candle ie GIECO insurance. Really?
Can't get a replacement or can't BUY a replacement basket. Called. Emailed. No help at all...
Yankee candles use to be above the rest but now they are crap! You are waisting your money!
I spent 30 bucks on a candle there and it won't even burn unevenly! Garbage!
See pics!
The other pic is a candle I can't put out from a friend who makes her own candles!
