Ordered a case of wine 11/08/2019, was sent an email for delivery on 11/12-11/14. Wine didn't arrive, nor an email or phone call. I cancelled the order-was sent another email saying it was going to be delivered on 11/19-11-21. Wine didn't show for the second time. I disputed the charge on my credit card. Received another email, saying it was coming on Thanksgiving- NO WINE TODAY, no email, no. Phone call.
WILL NEVER ORDER AGAIN FROM THEM-Shane on The Wall Street Journal
Ordered nov 4 2019 have called twice claim waiting on fed ex even though another rep said it was picked up and should have arrived 25th when i questioned what other rep told me she said some just say that so they dont get their head chewed off by unhappy customers!
I placed an order September 16,2019. 24 bottles ordered. Received 9. I've called them at lest 10 times since. Last week I called and cancelled the order. I got a notice that the wine has been shipped and my credit card has not been credited back. Now can not get anyone to answer the phone. I will never buy from them again and have cancelled the wine club. They have wasted a lot of my time.
If I could give them 0 stars I absolutely would. This business is a total scam. I ordered introductory wine club deal that was $69.99 plus shipping because I thought it was a good deal. I wish I could be writing a review about the actual wine but it never came! Finally, 2 weeks after the original "1st delivery attempt" I decided to cancel my order because there was NO communication that it would be delayed and NO estimate of when I would actually receive it. Every time I called they said there was a FedEX delay. Has anyone actually received wine from this company? Save your time and money and get different wine. Not worth the hassle of dealing with a company that I am not convinced actually delivers wine.
Ordered two separate shipments. Both were charged immediately to my card. Three weeks later, no wine. And, no one answers their phone nor responds to their email link.
I ordered a case of wine on 11/9/2019 and they can't seem to get it off the warehouse floor. Wine rep says it's a FEDEX issue. How does a "delivered" wine service fail to get a FEDEX pickup?
If I ever get the wine, I can review that as well.
Placed an order on November 2... was promised delivery dates of November 8-12... didn't receive a thing. Numerous calls to customer service line in which they fed me false promises, differing delivery dates, and multiple excuses. They claimed it was sent to FedEx for delivery which was never true. Emails weren't answered. Facebook live chats were simply useless. Finally got a delivery date of November 20 and FedEx was unable to deliver because the shipment was damaged. So WSJ Wine charges your credit card but does nothing to reply or refund your money. Never order from this company!
Where to start. I have never had worse service from any other online vendor at any time than I have had just this year from WSJ wines. An order I made at the beginning of August took eight weeks to get to me. I was promised each of the 9 times I called that it was just about to ship. When it didn't, the excuse was their transition to a new warehouse. Even after the transition, it still took a ridiculous additional amount of time to ship. Also, through all these delays, I never received a single email communicating to me if there was any trouble meeting the promised deadlines. They never communicate with the customer about an issue. You always have to call to find out what's going on. And they only ever offer a $20 discount for your troubles. Then, on November 4 I placed a new order & the website said it would be delivered between November 8-12. Of course, the website still said that on November 14. I called and after being told the excuse was one of my wine choices was out of stock and that it would take another week before shipping, I finally found my way to a supervisor. I laid out all the problems and all he could say was he apologize and that things would be different from now on. I canceled that existing order and, after being offered the $20 discount, placed a new order that day (Nov 14). The website promised delivery between Nov 22-24. On Nov 20, I receive a WSJ Wine email saying my order eas "shipping soon" & I would get it in "TWO TO THREE WEEKS" so now we're talking December. So much for things being better from now on. Needless to say, I will cancel this order and cancel my account. There are plenty of online wine vendors and all of them are better than WSJ Wines.
I chose to have wine delivered every 3 months and having just received my quarterly case at the start of October, I wasn't expecting another until end of December/start of January. I received an email last week November 13th saying my wine had shipped? The wine arrived but I never ordered this, certainly didn't authorize the company to decide upon themselves when to send cases and charge my account.
I've sent 2 emails to customer service. First response was ' a member of our customer service team will contact you in the next 8 hours '. That passed and I sent a 2nd email. This response was ' a member of our customer service team will contact you in the next 24 hours '. That too passed.
I've called on 3 separate occasions over the last few days trying to get an explanation, thought it might of been an error, but all I get is music. It seems I am not the only one complaining about shocking customer service and a scam of a company. Luckily for me the only payment detail they had from me was via PayPal and I've since made this payment from WSJ inactive, so no more.
I had a feeling it was a total scam when I couldn't find any option to unsubscribe or cancel your account with them online.
Save your time, energy and money and look elsewhere. DO NOT shop with this atrocious company.
I bought wine as a gift from WSJ wines awful experience, the wine was not delivered to the over a week late to the wrong address, after 8 phone calls to customer service assuring me the delivery address had been corrected they still managed to deliver it incorrectly. Do yourself a favor and don't deal with them, so much aggravation and totally unreliable.
Mediocre wines, terrible deliveries, inflexible, rip you off when promising gifts with deliveries and never sending them despite repeated reminders and customer service that is terrible. Give scam artists a bad name!
I ordered once and I couldn't get them to stop charging my credit card. Good luck getting them on the phone and once you do the customer service agents are rude.
I don't want to give this even one star, but unfortunately I have to give it a rating to review it. I ordered a mixed case on 2nd November for my mother's 80th birthday which was 4th November. The estimated arrival time was between 7th and 9th November which was bad enough, but here we are at 15th November and it has not arrived yet nor did they have a tracking number. I WOULD NEVER pay their full price. I had to escalate from a customer service agent to a supervisor but he promised me my subscription is cancelled after this first order. My confirmation email to that effect had better be here soon! The joke is the supervisor has to further escalate my problem to find out when I can get it shipped and he claims he will call me tomorrow either way. What a rip off! Meanwhile my 80 year old mother had to get in her car and purchase wine tonight. Unfortunately I used a prepaid Visa card not a regular bank account, because I would dispute the charge and have the money returned to me immediately.
Real wine bottle on the left, WSJ on the right. I am on hold, as I write this review, to cancel my membership. What a joke!
10 min later... just got off the phone with WSJ customer service, the guy tried to argue with me that I must have been mistaken in the size of the wine bottle... needless to say he lost that argument. They do not give out cancellation Confirmation number, so in 24 hours I get the pleasure of calling back, being on hold just to explain this all over again. JOY FOR ME!
I cancelled my automatic delivery due to consistently inferior wine quality. I had also signed up for the unlimited free delivery ($96/yr) since I was getting quarterly deliveries. When I canceled the quarterly deliveries I also canceled the unlimited fee shipping - BUT THEY CONTINUED TO CHARGE MY CREDIT ACCOUNT FOR THE UNLIMITED DELIVERY FEE FOR 2 YEARS! I only just noticed this. They agreed to refund this years charge (2019), but will not refund the prior year charge.
The offering became so pedestrian and repetitive that I have cancelled. The height of the copy does not reflect the quality of the wine. Most are middling. The final straw was they now refuse to deliver to my mail drop at a UPS store where an adult can sign for the wine. Try WTSO, Costco or Total Wine
Got sucked in on there 10 bottles for 90 something bucks, 2 out of ten were drinkable, the rest like vinegar, told them I wasn't impressed cancel me, yet they keep debiting my account, wont let me log in,, total tipoff thief's, contacting attorney general, and Bob if my money isn't returned in 24 hrs
They email "teaser" ads for good wines at reasonable prices. When you try to buy those wines, they are no longer available. EVERY TIME. Then they funnel you to their Wine Club page. No other choices. Other than your initial shipment, the wine club is expensive. No great deals, meh wines, and you have to jump through a thousand hoops to cancel. Stinks that the Wall Street Journal would lend their name to this charade.
I have called four times in order to change my "ship to " address
Still hasn't happened
Wine was left at old address while no one was home
Apparently the delivery person signed MY name and left the box on the stairwell
Last chance
If I have another shipment sent to the old address I'm done
The so-called customer relations department needs a huge change over
Hire me and I'll get that department whipped into shape in no time
Answer: The Wall Street Journal owns WSJWine. It is a separate and distinct business from WSJ, but is owned by the company.
Answer: Because their service sucks and very quick to deduct the card but very very sloppy service
Answer: They also have a "free shipping" program called Advantage Shipping Service that you can buy (a la Amazon Prime) for $89/year. I've never purchased it because it's only valid on full cases, and I don't usually buy enough of those in a year's time to justify the $89. But if you buy at least 5 cases a year, regular shipping costs you $100, so the Advantage program is worth it in that case.
WSJwine is a partnership between The Wall Street Journal and the world's leading direct-to-home wine merchant. It offers you wines of quality and individuality delivered direct to your home or office.
