As other reviewers have said, this service was once pretty good, now is generally terrible. After 3 unanswered emails about a non-delivered order I finally got a response--that they couldn't track the order using their own order number from that order. When I responded the email bounced back as undeliverable. Good luck getting a refund from these folks.
I have bought from WSJ Wine for a few years - mostly with accurate, timely results. 2020 is another story. Inexcusably long wait times for shipments. Damaged shipments. Virtually no customer service. I have one undelivered order now and I've reached the point that I never expect to see it. They charge your card the nanosecond you place the order - then don't deliver. I use another wine supplier that charges when they ship and deliveries are prompt. No more WSJ Wine for me. Thank goodness I never joined one of their clubs. I can't imagine the torture involved in trying to cancel that.
I have been a good customer for LSI SONOMA WSJ Wine for over two years. This company has been hard to reach and contact. I always try to put up with their reckless customer service. It is not up until I have been charged twice for the subscription in less than 30 days period. Now today, I have committed to filling a complaint about their untrustworthy business. I have been giving them many chances and try to contact them at least 30 times and waiting in the call at least 30 minute for them to resolve the dispute. But none seems to be taken care of. I would like to ask for a refund and cancellation of my account.
Ordered and waited 2 months for... nothing to happen. Took my money, failed to reply to emails requesting an explanation for the wait, tried to call customer service but after waiting over 2 hrs on hold on 5 occasions, decided that was pointless.
I ordered the white wine and they said I would be getting three complementary red wines with it for free. I received 15 bottles of all red. I do not like red wine and that is why I purchased white. I was planning on giving the reds as a gift to my parents. I have emailed customer support many times and I have sat on hold for hours with no answer. Their customer service is horrible. They have a great price but I do not recommend purchasing from them if you do not like red wine.
The customer service representatives confirm the change in orders that you placed but will not take place and they take a lot of time to respond whether it be through call or email. Better get some other wine club rather than WSJ
I was ok with them for a while, the wine is ok, good to have on hand for parties etc. but a bit pushy on the upsell. After a while we were not drinking it and had a lot on hand so I suspended the account but they still called me to deliver, excuse was it was a 'special offer' and not by normal delivery. I ended up just canceling and a months later they renewed my 'free shipping for a year' for $96. What are you shipping, I canceled? SMH. Called and customer service told me they could not refund to my card because it expired in January. Two things there, they charged to the card a week ago and 2nd, of course it's expired, I canceled so why would i call and update card info. Then i was told system could not process a check refund until i updated my card info. WHAT? Two hours of my life and the final answer was 'i put in a check request'. When i asked for a time frame, wait for it... I was told to check my card statement in 3-5 business days. LMAO. They can keep the $96, my time is worth more than that but never ever will i buy another thing from them. Stay away.
Ordered wine on 4/23/20. Still has not been delivered. Sent 3 emails with no response to any of them. Just a standard auto answer that they received my email. On hold now for over 40 minutes and counting, They used to be very good but it appears there is no longer any customer service for the consumer.
They do not respond to emails and keep you on hold for hours when you call, then hang up
Shipping recurring orders after I have cancelled membership
Orders either don't go through or take weeks to process and ship. I have ordered through other wine sites and received within a week. Emails they send are inaccurate. It takes over an hour to reach a customer service representative. And when you finally do, they are pretty incompetent and can't provide any details on the order or account. Not sure how they continue to stay in business.
Contrary to the rest of the reviews here, my experience with customer service was actually pretty good. I mistakingly placed an order for all whites, which I meant to be all reds. I immediately called and they said it was too soon to see my order in the computer and suggested I send an email. I sent an email and got 2 responses. The first said I could not change the order and then a second email minutes later confirmed the change. I really had no clue what to expect when the wine arrived (which was timely) but they had gotten it right with all reds. This is where my rating goes DOWN because the majority of the wines are simply NOT GOOD. Unfortunately I will be cancelling my membership, fingers crossed I don't have the same trouble doing so as the rest of you.
So I've ordered a few 12 bottle cases with WSJ and even though they say "money back, guarantee," they don't have good customer service. I have communicated several times that I do not like a particular wine (by saving it on my "not for me" list) and I still have gotten the wine in my shipments. It's frustrating because I have called in about it on a few occasions. What's more frustrating is that the "refund" I get for their recurring mistake is not enough worth my time ($9) when on average each bottle in my shipment is about $15-16. Customer service does not seem to care. Little things like that make me more interested in using a different wine club...
I ordered a case of wine from them. It was a promotion where you can order 6 bottles of wine and they send you two free. I ordered white wines. And a WHOLE case of red wines showed up at my door. Tried calling AND emailing the company to make it right and was a week and a half calling every day and letting my phone sit on hold for an hour or more. Tried emailing them and got no response there either. STILL trying to get a hold of them.
If you are interested in waiting 6 weeks to receive your wine, please order through them. Terrible company, horrible customer service. Would never want anyone to experience what I experienced. Do not use them!
I order two cases 8 weeks ago. WSJ immediately charged my credit card. They have not delivered. Many phone calls and on hold for hours and hours, many promises that they will make substitutions for back ordered bottles, many promises of following up with me. Nothing, nothing, nothing. Oh, and don't bother writing emails. They also go unanswered. Do yourself a favor and stay away from WSJ Wine.
I placed my introductory wine order over the phone on 5/8/20. After the order was placed I checked my card statement and was charged twice. Attempted to call again and was on hold for almost 2 hours before I gave up. I've sent multiple emails and received auto-replies telling me they will reach out in 48-72 hours; that was 10 days ago. My order status still says "preparing to ship." I had to dispute the duplicate charge with my financial institution and may have to do it again if I don't get an update by the end of the month. Even worse, I may have to get a new card issued to avoid any recurring charges because I am not able to cancel my subscription. DO NOT SUBSCRIBE!
UPDATE: I made an inquiry with the Better Business Bureau about their customer service. Just a few hours later I received an email confirming my subscription is cancelled. Not long after I shockingly received a call from WSJ Wines customer service to resolve the duplicate charge and everything has been resolved. If you are having issues with their customer service, I would suggest going through the Better Business Bureau for quick results.
These people never answer their phone. There are no options on their website to chancel, update or make any corrections to their bad service. Good luck if you want to cancel. They never answer the phone, never reply to emails and they keep stealing your money. Best thing to do is cancel your credit card and send them an F. U. email.
I placed my introductory offer order on 4/18. It is 5/13 and I have yet to receive said order. I was on the line for an hour and a half last week before speaking to a human, and it took them another hour to figure out what the issue was. Apparently Fedex damaged my shipment and had to send it back and my new shipment has been "in process" for the last week. Needless to say I cancelled my subscription but am still holding out for that initial order. That I paid for. I'm glad to see I'm not the only frustrated customer leaving a review. Stay away and try FirstLeaf for your next wine subscription.
Please read other reviews--seems like other shoppers have the same issue. I placed an order, waited over a month. Tried contacting WSJ wine and no answer ( I was on hold for over an hour). I tried sending an email to customer support (3 weeks ago) no response. This is a scam. Look at all the reviews. How is this company still in business?
This is by far the worst wine club out there. DO NOT BUY!. They held up my shipment by two weeks saying I need to verbally confirm the order but NEVER picked up the phone. When I emailed them to cancel my order they all of a sudden charged my Credit card then delayed my delivery by a month. The auto email response said they would get back in 7 days took them over two weeks.
Answer: The Wall Street Journal owns WSJWine. It is a separate and distinct business from WSJ, but is owned by the company.
Answer: Because their service sucks and very quick to deduct the card but very very sloppy service
Answer: They also have a "free shipping" program called Advantage Shipping Service that you can buy (a la Amazon Prime) for $89/year. I've never purchased it because it's only valid on full cases, and I don't usually buy enough of those in a year's time to justify the $89. But if you buy at least 5 cases a year, regular shipping costs you $100, so the Advantage program is worth it in that case.
WSJwine is a partnership between The Wall Street Journal and the world's leading direct-to-home wine merchant. It offers you wines of quality and individuality delivered direct to your home or office.
