June 17, I buy a SIM card that allegedly gives high-speed data in the USA with all devices. Perfect, as most carriers say my old phone is not compatible!
June 23, I receive the card. It is a Lyca mobile SIM card. I know for a fact that a Lyca mobile SIM will only get me 2G speeds on my device. I ask for a full refund.
June 25, their customer service assures me that I "will get 5g speed", despite not knowing what handset I have.
June 27, I ask again to return the card for a refund. I need return address instructions.
June 30, I remind them to send return instructions.
August 22, I again ask for the refund instructions. I am politely told that because more than 2 weeks have passed, the refund period has passed and they can do nothing. In summary - they had misleading information on their website; they lied to me to get me to stop complaining about getting a Lyca mobile SIM; they ignored my requests for a refund and then have the AUDACITY to tell me it is too late for a refund. AVOID THESE CHARLATANS
World sim is useless, did not work in either New Zealand or Canada. Contacted customer support and received some instructions which I followed without success. I tried calling the help line numerous times with no answer. I ended up buying local sims in New Zealand and Canada. World sim is a useless product do not buy
I just returned from Japan, where I gave WorldSIM one last chance. There was one network that I could occasionally get WorldSIM to work with. I had no service in Yokohama or Tokyo. My wife has Google Fi, and it worked flawlessly everywhere we went.
This was a bit better than past experiences in Israel, Tanzania and Caribbean locations where WorldSIM was useless, no coverage at all, though their website claims otherwise. I've spent many hours of vacation time trying to get WorldSIM to work. Only in parts of Europe and the United States has it been somewhat dependable. It's extremely brittle, unpredictable, and will stop working for no apparent reason. It's definitely not something you want to rely on if you truly need cellular service, or value your time.
Other issues I've had include inconsistency between information on their web site, printed instructions, and customer service responses. I've been charged for calls I did not answer, or when incoming calls were supposed to be free, and for using data when WorldSIM wasn't working at all. It will switch from a preferred operator and nail you with predatory charges. I was charged $24.90 and $10.25 for data sessions of 1.658 Mb and 0.6 Mb. I was refused refunds/credit when WorldSIM did not perform properly, and received frustrating customer service responses that ignored my questions and/or claimed things that were not true.
I'm fairly astute when it comes to technology, but after more than 7 years of frustrations, using at least 4 different phones, I give up! I am somewhat baffled by all the positive reviews here. I hope this one will help someone make a better choice than I did.
Ive used WorldSIM for a couple of years, and my most recent experiences cause me to downgrade my rating from uneven to poor and recommendation from try it at your own risk to avoid.
I recently took a trip to Tanzania and hoped my WorldSIM would provide data services while there. Unfortunately, it failed to cooperate. I received some WorldSIM messages, but was unable to connect to the internet. I also tried during our layover in Amsterdam on the way home with identical results.
Nevertheless, I was somehow consuming data and charged for it! I dialed customer service once, realized it would be an extremely expensive call and terminated after one ring, before I was connected. I was charged $1.54 for that. Once I was home, I used their cumbersome online support system to ask for help solving the problem. I took the time to detail every step Id taken, every setting Id made trying to get their product to work. Since I received no benefit and wasted precious time during an expensive trip trying to use my WorldSIM, I also requested that the charges made be reimbursed.
In 3 of 4 aggravating attempts, I got absolutely no response to my technical inquiry. The agents didnt bother to read and address my issue. From the punctuation and spelling errors, they are clearly outsourcing their customer service, and English is a challenge for those responding. Some of the responses included, you have used data this is the reason you are charged, you can check your each usage by login your account. There is not any issue we found, you have successfully used data, everything is fine from our end. We checked your account and found many data session, that is why you got charged and I want to extend my sincerest apologies for the negative experience that you had with us however as i checked on 25-Feb-18 06:51:52 you got charge of $1.54 beacuase you made a call to customer service it is chargeable call that the reason you charged.
Not only do they have an extraordinarily finicky product, and that is putting it in a charitable way,
I dealt with the insanity of them treating my requests for technical support as billing inquiries and focusing on the charges. I had to beg them to read the entire thread, explained again that I did not successfully use data, and repeatedly ask why if everything is fine I was unable to connect to the internet in multiple countries using WorldSIM preferred operators using their instructions and an unlocked phone that works fine with my normal domestic data plan.
Part of the problem with WorldSIM is that they do not provide clear instructions detailing the steps needed to make their product work, so its easy to go wrong. The printed instructions that came with their product, the (limited) responses to technical inquiries Ive made, and information I found searching their website are not in agreement.
worldsim.com is a scam!
I had several many with worldsim and particularly the phone rates are ridiculously high!
I) Worldsim advertises a 24h support, but the support is only occupied 8h during normal business days. This is not helpful!
Ii) I have booked a 2 GB data bundle, which was activated as two 1 GB bundles. After I had used less than 500 MB, I was informed that I had used up all my data. They also do not honestly monitor the data usage.
Iii) Same is true for calling! Half of the time the website is not properly working so that you cannot access the actual rates for your phone calls. Next, they charge in two minute increments. Could you please show your rates as price per 2 min if you charge in these increments. And then they had an issues to charge the proper rate and overcharged.
Iv) Although the roaming mode for the sim card was deactivated the sim card could still access the internet and I was charged another 10 $.
V) On the other hand you need to get lucky that the sim card even works. Often the settings are incorrect and you get sim card texts with error message, which also the customer service does not know what they mean. I could also not make and receive calls in the USA.
Vi) The website has regularly issues and you cannot access your account.
To sum it, save yourself time and nerves and go to proper company. Worldsim is a scam!
The agent, Matt B was really helpful and knowledgeable and answered my query in a thorough and professional manner. He was amazing, cannot recommend more highly! He even called my daughter in the USA to make sure that calls were getting connected, so happy!
I'm quite impressed with their customer service, Matt B replied very quickly to each of my queries. Their prices are also very competitive.
Great service from Matt B. Highly recommended sim card company. Great prices and easy to use website. And great service correcting my ordering mistake.
Thanks for fixing my activation issue and i can call now to family without any hassle, Thanks again!
Support Fall: CAS-NXQS2070
Works for a while and then doesn't without any changes in phone settings. Phone may require several re-starts to start working again.

Answer: To set up data, I believe you require to set the APN as mobiledata. And their return is around 2 weeks from the day you receive the product.
