Buyer Beware
September 17, 2018
Updated review

I had to request my refund for an item that I didn't get over 4 times. This company still wanted to charge me a monthly charge for service. Really what service I canceled this service because they took my money with no item in return. They told me over two months ago I would receive my refund in 10 days now over two months later complaint to BBB and Customer Finance Agency. I had to call them again to get my $160.00 dollars. It then this last time took less than a week for me to get my money. Which let me know they never sent my refund out the first time when they said it would take 10 days. And if I didn't stay on top of this I would not have even gotten my money back. It just came on Friday 9/14/18. This started on July 10,2018, Really! Buyer beware.

I was approved for my lease online on 07/10/2018. On the same day I went to the nearest Sears store to me. The store was in the Florida Mall in Orlando. This store is about 80 miles from me. I went there because I wanted my product that day. I had help I thought from Sears Associate to get the lawn mower I wanted. It was $399 plus needed a blower which was $99. My total was $624.97. Once at Check out another Associate Jame came to help the Associate that was handling my checkout. The Associate entered all the information for the lease and asked how much did I want to pay. I told him I wanted to pay $160.00 which was more then what they asked for. However, after they ran my card took my money. Then the Associate decided to check to see if my product was at the store. The product was not available. He wanted to mail it to me. Which would take over 10 days. I told them I needed this product now not later. I asked if I could get a product different that was available for the same price since the Associate failed to check for the product before he took money. Associate James called Tempo They told him that he had to cancel the order and do it again however I would have to pay $160 again. I explain it was not my fault that they fail to check for product availability. Why do I have to pay twice I explained if I wanted to do that I could have just bought it out and not even tried to use Tempo Lease. The Associate with Tempo Lease told me it will take 3 to 5 days to get put back int to my account. I was upset at this so I called Tempo myself and another Associate told me that its nothing they can do it will be 3 to 5 days back into my account. I was so irritated by then I told them you mean you can take my money out of my account immediately and can put it back like you took it unreal. After five days and complaint to Sears, I called Tempo Lease back to see why is my money not in my account. I was then told by another Tempo Associate that this could take over 10 day for me to get my money back and now it want be in my account but in the mail as a check. I was never told this by any of the agents at the store or the Associates. I am being penalized for Sears Associate failing to do his job. I am so over this this is not right.

It's terrible that this company is getting rich off of people charging almost 3times for the product then what it was bought for.

Rip off cons
August 26, 2018

They talk out both sides of their mouth. No true understanding of words. Play on people's true needs of the item and then twist the words onto believing that you are paying for an item when in fact you actually renting an item for life. The payoff terms that they're talking about is basically you could have just bought the item yourself without their assistance. Because if I was able to make a payment first and then come up with the remainder 90 days. Heck I could have went on and just waited 90 days and paid for it the same day.

RIP OFF!
July 31, 2018

I "leased" my first item not understanding that it was not a "rent to own" but a lease that just continues and continues. If you dont plan to call and "buyout within 90 days" then DONT DO IT!

Worst Idea ever!
July 21, 2018

I attempted to order a refrigerator online from Sears today and I was unable to complete my order without being forced to this 3rd party leasing company and wasting my time filling out a confidential application for something I have ABSOLUTELY NO INTEREST IN! Sears/K-mart, you have now found the perfect solution to chasing off your few remaining loyal customers.
This idea creates the nails to put in your corporate coffin. I am sorry to say, this was most likely my last attempt to do business with Sears/K-Mart.

Liars and Ripoffs
July 17, 2018

Sears told us it was a rent to own situation. We paid a certain amount for 5 months and we'd just have to make a phone call and the product would be ours. They continued taking the same amount out every month until we sent the products back. No one told us they would continue taking money out every month after the 5th month and it said nothing about it in the contract. I read it at least 10 times to make sure I didn't miss anything. I spoke to the company several times and no one from there told me anything about it either. Now I'm having to send the product back so they will stop taking money out of my account. Next time I'll go through Rent-A-Center or something.

If you can't qualify for a regular bank loan this is a great option they have same as cash if you pay off in 90 days. I have purchased rice appliances with this and the day I purchase i call why no lease it and tell them I want the 90 day pay off and they adjust my payments and in 90 days it's mine and paid off. Simple easy they are not crooks and one time I forgot to tell them I wanted the 90 days and I was a week past 90 days called they ajusted to the 90 payotf and took my last payment. Read the contract listen to the sales person they have always been very clear to me about how you can pay way more for your product.

As promised
July 9, 2018

I've used them several times. The trick is to catch a major appliance on a good sale so the payoff isn't way over the product's actual value. That way ur not further penalized for not qualifying for a standard credit agreement.

I did what I agreed to on time and so did they. I have a pesky habit of actually reading contracts I sign, so there were no surprises or unexpected problems.
