Worst company ever!
February 14, 2019

The girl we dealt with at Sears was the worse ever. Took 3-4 hours to get anything done and she never explained anything. This is fraud and I am paying this off and will never buy anything from Sears again!

I brought a wash machine for $500 and a danm swimming pool for $499 and sears asked me a down payment of $120. My receipt state that I will pay $327 a month for 5 months and sears didn't explain to me that if I didn't purchase the wash machine and the pool for an additional $800 after I paid a total of $1900 and they continued to take my money without my permission even after I told them that I won't pay $800 more I will return their products. It's a scam and people please don't buy anything from why not lease. Save that money and buy your product cash or by your credit card. I will fight them to the core because God doesn't like ugly and they are very ugly. Shame on you why not lease!

Total Rip Off
February 5, 2019

This service was sold to us as a 'payment plan option.' After paying nearly $600 in payments on a dryer that was sold to us for $$629, the buyout price is over $300. Ridiculous! Please don't get into a plan with these people. It's a complete racket! They sell it as something very different. Apparently there is an option to pay off the balance in 90 days and avoid this, but that option was never shared with us.

Rip off
February 4, 2019

Misleading information from sales. I was told I would need to put a deposit down since I didn't qualify to cover my full amount for my washer dryer. I put down $200 us my $300 first month payment. Was told I would have 4 more payments (to equal a total of 5 monthly payments) then I would have paid it off. There was no explanation about contacting them at 30,60 or 90 days to convert to a purchase. I paid my 5 monthly payments at $315 plus the $200 I put down and now to purchase I have to pay $954 within 6 weeks to purchase. The set was originally $1200. I will have paid $2600 when it's All said and done. I should have just paid cash with my deposit money for the dryer and then waited to get the washer instead of doing it as a set. Do not use this option without very carefully understanding all of it. I read it but it is very unclear and the sales people very much simplify it make it seem a simple way to get what you want all at once. Preying on our desire for that instant gratification. I regret this immensely.

Stay away
January 29, 2019

I purchased a new tv online through sears.com on 9/21/18. I received tv October 3,2018. I paid tv off with why not lease it December 17,2018. Within 90 day time frame. Tv tore up January 7,2019. I called sears to try an get help with product an was told that since it's been over 30 days that I can't be refunded and 45 days I would need to contact manufacturer Vizio. I contacted Vizio and I was told to give them the model number for tv. Once I gave vizio the model number I was told the tv was out of warranty. I ask how. Vizio representive stated the tv was a 2013 recall tv. Wow! I had no idea. I have contract with why not lease it and they don't even care to help me out since I paid 661.00 for tv. Sears/why not lease it ripped me off with.

No problems for me.
January 30, 2019

They state when you lease something that you make 5 monthly payments or 10 bi weekly. After that you call to set up the rest of the payoff which is usually 3 payments of $85. I have gotten 3 TV's a washer and other things from why not lease it I have a TV now with 3 more payments then like always I will call and set up my 3 payments. Great company. I will use them again.

WARNING! To anyone who want's to lease to own from Sears through the why not lease it company... DON'T!
We leased to own a push mower in May last year. At Sears here in Coldwater. We were told by the store associate once we paid off the 303.64@ 27.31 bi weekly It would be paid off! So we never thought any more about it. Untill I realized omg they are still taking money out of our account. It should have been paid off in September! So i figured it out we have over paid 242.74 so I called the "Why Not lease it " company. They tell me they don't owe me anything because I was supposed to call them at the end of the term to then give them an additional 100.00+ dollars to then buy it! And that since I didn't call them they just continued charging me the lease payments even after the cost of the lawnmower was paid. So I told the guy he could just take that additional purchase money out of the 242.74 we over paid. And refund us the difference. Makes sense right... nope. They are keeping that money even after knowing we were given bad information and mislead to believe after the 303.46 was paid we would own it. We were never told to call them to purchase it after we paid it off. Now they want an additional 58.00 to purchase it and end the lease. Or we'd have to to give back the push mower we've now paid over 500.00 for! I told him to split it in two payments and end it! If I ever see "Why Not lease it" show up in my bank statement ever again Ill take legal steps. DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM SEARS USING "WHY NOT LEASE IT" WORST COMPANY EVER!

Worst Company ever
January 24, 2019

Don't fall into this trap. How it was explained to me was that it was like a layaway, but you could take it home, and you would pay a 60 fee. I had to pay almost 200 over what the product was worth. I called customer service and she told me one price, and then when she ran my card, she quoted another price. BE WARNED.

What you have to understand is this is a lease and an option to buy not a credit payment plan. Think about it its cheaper then using a high interest credit card. Yeah you have to pay something extra at the end but that's the cost of not paying out right using cash.
This is my 2nd lease and had zero issues.

We purchased a refrigerator and oven through their leases. It has been nothing but hell with them ever since. Every time I try to make a payment online, it automatically takes the payment out of my account twice, no matter what I do. I try to pay $20 dollars, it goes through twice and I pay $40. And I set up a schedule over the phone with a representative, who said I would only have two more payments to be made in December and January. But suddenly I still have four more payments happening in February, that do not line up with my lease at all. And they never alert you when an automatic payment fails, they just allow the interest to build until you're 200 dollars in debt. The representatives always say they are helping, but the numbers and payments never reflect what they said, and they never fix the problem.

Horrible, lying company that steals your money. Can't wait to be over with them, if they ever let the payments stop.

Worked Great for us!
January 14, 2019

We used to get a refrigerator/freezer and it was a simple easy process. We got the item we wanted at sale price and payments deducted weekly. The amount we ended up paying with their fees was much less than if we used a high interest credit card and a HUGE! Amount less than if we had gone to a lease to own/rental company. We are planning to use again to get a new mattress.

Absolutely an abhorrent leading company. Plain disgusting. They literally take advantage of the disenfranchised to squeeze whatever they can from them. I not a $499 washer and I expected to pay at least $300 in additional for the lease itself. Well, turn a out that's what happened only not only did I pay the $499 and $300 but now they want an own it fee for an additional $300?! Why this isn't seen as a scam to FCC amazes me! This is consumer fraud and deception. These ppl need to be taken to court. Not only that but the monthly payments become biweekly towards the end! Wtf is that?! These ppl are literally sick loan sharks who have no appeal at running a reputable company. Disgraceful and fraudulent.

I was very excited to try this option but they are a mess
I am approved and get to the last step of the process to make the initial 60.00 payment. I got an error saying can not validate ongoingpayment. I tried 2 debit cards (major bank and credit union) and two credit. Nothing works. I called and was told that a lot of banks don't work even Bank of America. I mean it makes no sense. It's a processor every bank should work if money is in the account on a debit card. They then told me to go into sears and anything will work because sears runs it. Nope same message. I then purchased an item outright using the same card at the same register and it worked

You guys are losing business. The store associate said I am not the first one

They will rip you off and take your money. They do not explain that the payment you set does not go to your balance, but to a leasing charge, so I just paid them $207 and in order to keep my glasses now, I would have to buyout which means I have to pay an additonal 118 dollar, after I paid them 5 months worth of payments only to find out that don't count towards the balance. My glasses cost 215, I will end up paying them 325 now if Ikeep them or return them and loose the money I already paid. Worst, worst company to deal with. Beware. If a lawsuites starts, please include me in it.

I have had 3 leases with them already (in 2 years) and no issues. They take the payment on the due date, and I know I have to pay the amount that I borrowed + 10% at the end of the 90 days. I have even made additional payments to make the final payment a little easier. This has become a great lifesaver when I am in a crunch. Also it is not WhyNotLeaseIt who does not explain the terms its the sales person that sold it to you. If you did a little research before going in, it is very simple and straight forward. Amount borrowed + 10% in 90 days = DONE
