I will never recommend Why Not Lease it to anyone. They don't give the full explanation and on the terms and conditions.

This company is horrible! They refuse to take the payment out on the date you set up, saying they have to do it during the week, not on weekends. No other company does that. This company will screw you over and take every dime they can from you just to get extra money for their company. They are crooked and crooks! If you need something from someplace that has this company as they're leasing company, just save the money and get it elsewhere, or buy it out right don't use their services. They will charge you three times what you originally would have paid

Not a helpful company
December 10, 2018

I got a toolbox for my husband starting out in a business. We were in the understanding it would be like a "rent to own". Wow, were we wrong. The toolbox was on sale for $699.99. We've paid over $900 so far, and they want over $500 to buy it out. And most recently, the account they were drawing off of got goofed up and a few of their payments didn't go through. I called and gave them a new card for going forward. They pulled ALL the missed payments the next day. I immediately called and they said they would issue a refund. I called a few days later to enquire how long the refund would take, and they told me no refund. "Its in the agreement they can do a re-deposit for all owed money. I told them I wanted to return the product, they wont take it back until all of the accounts are current. Is that even legal? To force me to accrue debt when I'm trying to get ahead? Itold them I wanted my checking account removed from the account, it's still attached. My agreement posted on my online account is not correct. When I called to get it so I could go over why I still owed so much money, customer service spoke to me like I was dumb for not accessing it online. When I tried to explain the situation, they pretty much told me I was lying. It took 5 different customer service people to finally just to get them to snail mail me a copy of my contract! Not a good company to work with, especially if you get into a position of struggling to make ends meet. READ THE AGREEMENT AND UNDERSTAND IT BEFORE YOU SIGN!

Every time I called it was an issue. To resolve the issue they say they'll call you back... Do they call back? No, so I call back they claim nothing was in my "notes" regarding my issue. I say then pull up the calls. That's another call back. Do they call back? No. When I paid off my lease they over charged me. They say they'll issue a refund. Did I get my refund? No. Now I'm on the phone with them AS I TYPE THIS REVIEW. They say I can't get it. Then why say you'll issue it if I'm not eligible? A bunch of lies and time wasted. Don't waste yours!

Don't fall for it
November 29, 2018

I bought a $240 vaccum and my payments for 41 were minimal. We paid 9 months of biweekly payments. Pretty sure Tha math doesn't add up right. That was 2013. We thought are payments were done. No more payments had been taken out... So fast fwd to now. We have someone calling and threatening my wife that she's gonna get arrested because she committed fraud. They said they would come to her work to serve papers. For one... The remaining balance they say is owing is about 250 (not sure exact amount)... The company that bought the debt is a "law firm". I guess stupidity runs rampit amonst criminals becuase that's what they are... Know your rights ppl. Depending on the state law they are only allowed 3 years to collect on a written contract. Pretty sure ataue of limitations ran out. 2 FCC does not allow there tactics of treating to come to your work or have you arrested. 3. My wife offered a minimal amount to pay it back just so they would leave us alone and get this they refused that amount for pmt. Soooo again they're wrong. What law firm is going to file a small claims court case... Pay lawyers to represent them, court cost, and processor fees. Please I'm going to report you to every credit the CFPB and every review sight I can find pertaining to them. It's noting but a Scam and ILLEGAL. That prey on those with bad credit or low income.

I thought I was leasing to own. WRONG! The first page of my contract states that $73.35 bi weekly followed by 8 payments of 73.35. I thought that would be all. I was horrified to learn that after that I could buy the merchandise for an additional $400. I told him that I'd like to return the merchandise. He stated that I couldn't return it until I make the last "initial" payment. I just laughed at him. I'm offering to return you merchandise and you're telling me I can't. What a joke!

I have used this twice to lease items from Sears. I've paid both items off within 90 days and I found it to be a good deal. If you lease it more than 90 days, you are a fool because you will be playing probably five times the amount your item is worth. Just know that if you plan to pay it off within 90 days, you must pay it all at once. They don't let you make partial payments for the 90-day payments.

Okay I've seen so many really bad remarks on this company. I have to tell everybody I have had 10 different accounts and I have never ever had an issue with the service I recieved or the interested I paid. Now granted I always always paid my accounts off within the 90days as I set out to do! So i'll give everybody a little advice always pay your accounts off as soon as possible and you won't ever have an issue I am proof of that. So before you go bashing a company read what your signing and PAY YOUR LEASE OUT "BEFORE" THE 90 DAYS!

Don't Do It, Big Mistake
November 14, 2018

They make it sound and seem like you are only leasing until the item is paid in full. Yeah right! They continue to charge you for the items forever no matter how much you have paid like if you are renting instead of buying them. When I called to make sure my account with them was paid in full I was told that it was not and that I was still leasing my items. I was in shock, I says " What! Leasing? My items are paid in full. Than I was told that in order for me to own my items I would need to pay $500 extra. My initial total purchase with interest charged for a 5 month lease to own was $1,095 and they wanted me to pay an extra $500 on top of that to be able to keep it which meant that I would have bought that company a set of washer / dryer if I didn't give them the extra money. Unbelievable, I'm not happy with this company and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. You're better of getting a credit loan through the store, bank, cash advance or family / friend. They charge way to much to help you lease to buy an item. Don't do it, it's a big mistake

Deceiving
November 12, 2018

This has to be the worst leasing company I have ever encountered. I leased something that was approximately $200. As I calculated my payments, I thought I was close to being finished with the payments. I called the company to verify i had just made my last payment only to find out that they would continue charging for my account for an additional year. They don't tell you every thing up front. Had I known that I would be paying $40 for 18 months on a $200 item, I would have never done business with this company. Avoid them at all costs!

This is a very shady company. They have a lot hidden costs and fees. Horrible customer service and will take extra money out for no reason even if you make all your payments on time.

January 2018 I purchased a NordicTrack Treadmill from Sears or I thought I was purchasing the item only to find out that I have paid over $2560 for an item that I should not have paid more $1900 but I was told by Sears the item was going to be a $1200 purchased but it was a lease. Never thought SEARS would RIP ME OFF. Unfortunately, I realized that I had been RIPPED OFF only after checking my banking account and found that the WHY NOT LEASE IT, third party collection company working with SEARS. I went to SEARS in Columbia, MD on Friday, October 19,2018 because my banking account had an overdraft charge which was the result of the $256.51 WHY NOT LEASE IT charge. SEARS manager even declared WHY NOT LEASE IT was a RIP OFF and gave me back the October $256.51 payment. This company still tried to get me to pay more money to own the machine. I am writing YELP and Consumer Affairs of New Hampshire to report to these unfair business practices and the RIP OFF tactics this company employs on unsuspecting consumers.

I have spent countless hours attempting to get a refund for an item I returned to Sears within their 30 day return policy. I have zero confidence in Why Not Lease It and now Sears too. I am holding my breath to see if I actually get my money back from Why Not Lease It. You can never speak to anyone in America! Today when I called yet again, I was hung up on. I am literally flabbergasted by the shady terms of this Program that my local Seats promoted as store financing. I cannot believe there is not a already a Class Action Lawsuit! I will NEVER do business with Sears again knowing they have aligned themselves with this Company. Absolutely disgusted with Sears and Why Not Lease It!

The worst
October 9, 2018

Upon using whynotleaseit, they told me that I would basically have a "rent to own" type of deal. Unfortunately it was nothing like that, once the scheduled payments came out I was told more money has to be paid in order to own the property. Instead of paying $519 for a wash machine, I end up paying $778.72 just to lease it and they want another $500 just to own it. They are the absolute worse.

This company is disgusting. Being a new mom I didn't think anything of it, checking my account periodically until we went to buy a new appliance today. Going through my statements I was charged an additional 903.40. Nice, huh? They still wanted my husband to pay him 20.00 that is "owed".

So for something we purchased and leased and were told we could buy outright for 1339 if the four payments were made on time, we paid 2242. 40. And they wanted an additional 20.00? We would have just paid for it in full at the store for the 1339 if we knew that we were going to be ripped off.

So now my husband not only has to go back to the store to close the lease we started today to just go pay for the item, they are making him bring it back to the store only for him to take it out of the store once he paid for it! Disgusting.

Dont ever do this leasing program. And never ever purchase with Sears warehouse. These people act like your friends. They are nothing but scammers.

Misleading
October 2, 2018

So I bought a dishwasher back in July 2017. It was almost 900.00 for it. The contract is, I pay 70.00 2x a month. What the salesman told me was I keep paying this and eventually I will own the dishwasher. What actually is happening is if i dont pay off what I owe which is now 375.00... They will keep charging me 140 a month forever! They said the salesman should have told me after 5 periods I could have paid the 375 and end my contract... I have now paid over 1000. 00 extra in just lease payments. IF you use them please make sure you don't make the same mistake as me and believe the salesman. WHynotleaseit has been good for customer service.

Thank Goodness!
September 22, 2018

I ordered an item online and went through this company, I paid $78 down, after waiting 1 week for my item to be delivered I received a phone call the night before my delivery date from Sears saying they had to reschedule my delivery due to a delay. I was upset so I cancelled my contract with whynotleaseit, they were able to cancel it right away because I havent recieved my product. Two days later I tried to repurchase the product and get it delivered to the store, the lease contract wasnt going through i called the company and was told to go to Sears to fill out a new lease contract. The sales associates at Sears were dumb af, they didnt know how to do it. So i was getting the run around from Sears and Whynotleaseit for two days straight so I said $#*! it and purchased the product full price and had it delivered to the store... I can honestly say that was a blessing in disguise because after reading all of these review's I'm so happy everything went down the way it did. I would have been mad as hell if I got stuck in a contract with a shady company like Whynotleaseit.
