Everyone here complaining about these terrible people ripping us off, signed a contract with this company to make your first payments with the ability to purchase for maximum of a 10 percent interest rate within the first 90 days, anything after that you're paying a lot more and continue to lease for 5 months. Its not the company's fault that you didn't care to read because you were just excited to find out that sears was going to let you lease something with your terrible credit lol. The company's only source of profit is when people dfault on their payments or take the continue leasing option, so yes thats the way they want you to do it. Other than that, you should have read the contract because if it seemed to good to be true, then guess what. Mit probably was. Happy saturday! 5 star rating from me, a customer who bought a nice mattress, paid it off in 90 days, and lived happily ever after.

I'm like the previous statement that we have bad credit and we're idiots let me clarify this mr. Eddie I have a bachelor in criminal justice I am not stupid and I had good credit furthermore I bought a frigerator that was on sale for $400 I was to make five additional payments after my down payment in which I did now that the other company tempo bought out whynotleaseit I was being double billed from both companies they took out a total of $858.56 out of my account I had to put a stop to it I was only to make five more payments and it was paid off well that's what they done I was overcharged a great deal of money according to the contract I should be getting back $216.56 not only did I not get this back they put it against my credit turned it over to a credit agency stating I owed over $400 this company is the worst ever they are a scam I even had saved all the paperwork to show proof thereof including my bank statements

I purchased this with a the understanding I was purchasing, not leasing. When I called to see why they took another payment, they said I was leasing and had to be bought out. I asked what would you do, just keep taking leasing payments for the rest of my life? She said yes, until you called. Horrific! Then I said I am not paying the $341.24 balance, I said I will pay 1/2 of this today to finish purchase and they said yes. When I mentioned they had a profile with BBB, she said yes, because they have so many complaints. Also, I asked for a copy of my lease to be emailed but they could only mail. They said I agreed to all of this but I know I ABSOLUELY did not. It was a small up-charge to do this payment option; that is how it was presented.

Pay attention and know what you are getting into - tonight I called for payoff information and had a very positive interaction. Great customer service. I have not had any problems with this company and would recommend them. Negative reviews generally come from lack of understanding.

Rip Off
April 5, 2019

I got some tools from Sears that was 200 bucks and I put 50 down. It should have been paid off in 90 days but when I called and asked why do I still owe, I supposed to call and tell them that was what I was doing even though the balance was paid in full. To pay it off, I am paying triple the cost and the toolbox has broken the first week I gotten it. DON'T DO IT!

Rip off
April 1, 2019

My husband and I went to sears to purchase a washer and dryer and a water softner. They people working did not share with us that it needed to be paid off in 90 days or we would have to pay extra. If I would of known this I would of never of purchased these items. This company is a rip off, when you are told you only have to make the 9 additional payments and its yours is a lie. DON'T DO THIS ITS NOT WORTH THE EXTRA YOU HAVE TO PAY. ITS NOT A GOOD OPTION!

If I would have been told the truth on how Why not lease it actually works, I would have never used them for my purchases. I was told by the sales associate, that after the initial term, i could buyout the merchandise, return it, or xontinue leasing. I was told that if I continued leasing, I would lease until the merchandise was paid for. That is not the case. It is a never ending payment, and they will not tell you that in order to keep taking your money, nor will why not lease it call you when your initial term is nearing the end to see what your option you want to do. They expect you to do their job, and call them. They continued to take payments out of my bank account after the initial term had expired without actually renewing the lease, and ended up taking $2484 more than what my buyout was, and will not refund the additional amount taken. Furthermore, I was told by the employee that the total additional payments in which I made after the initial lease had ended could be refunded, and I return the merchandise. I then asked why can't I keep the merchandise, and only be refunded what I paid over the buyout price, which is would be almost the same as giving me a full refund but less hassle not having to deal with the return, and he said they couldn't do that. Then I said that I take the full refund of payments made after the initial lease ended, he then retracted his stated from earlier, and would not do that either, even though he made it an option, and then proceeded to throw the problem back on me as if it's all my fault that I was in this situation. Even if you are desperate, do not use Why Not lease It. They will only steal your hard earned money, and then blame it on you, the customer. Absolutely the worst business practice I have seen.

Pay off within 90 days
February 28, 2019

I have bought 3 things with this program.

A treadmill 500
A watch 250
A ring. 800

Thr terms are 90 day buyout after that you are required to make the 5 payments for the lease. Then you can either give it back or purchase the item for a depreciated value.

The catch is... the money for first payments does not go towards the buyout unless you pay it off within 3 months. If you dont you are technically buyin the same item twice.

I avoided doing that becuase i paid them all off within the 90 days.

This is not like aarons or rent a center. I loved the program. I wont get anythibg else because that ring killed me with the last payment.

It just takes planning that is all.

Don't lease with them!
February 25, 2019

I leased a refrigerator in January 2018. Made my payments paid the payoff balance and somehow o still owe $400? Even after I spoke to someone over the phone about paying it off they told me my payoff was $654 in June which I paid. Not to mention I was making bi weekly payment of $109 for 5 months. Then I got a email about 1 month saying my payment didn't clear. I called them to explain that I had paid off my balance. They said they would take care of it and that everything was good. 6 months later in January 2019 I get and email and call from a debt collector saying I owe $398. I tried to disputed the charge sent my prof of payments but it was useless. I called why not least it (tempoe) they said they couldn't help me. I was able to each a settler for $200. Don't lease from why not lease it. Avoid the headache. Why hasn't anyone reported them.

I just received an email last week and updated, or thought was an update on a account that said a payment didn't go through, okay I was thinking what the heck. I pay my bill every week! I answered that email with the payment issue that I was thinking what in the heck are you even talking about. I thought it was fixed then get another email today saying their was a problem with my account. Once again what in the world are you talking about. Well the guy says I have $180.00 in return fees. Okay, wait a minute WHAT? I come to find out the card you are all running is a card that had to be reissued by the bank due to a fraudulent charge back at the first of January. Okay, I was told I had been called about it. Well I personally didn't get any phone calls as it's hard for me to answer my phone, so no voicemails either. The next form of communication is mail not email, but mail for which I never received anything and I responded to both emails. Thinking everything was still right. You all charged me $180.00 in chargeback fees for a card that wasn't even working, because fraudulent behavior on the account. I never noticed it not coming out because I have quiet a few transactions. I asked about this "chargeback fees" and said do you take my payments out on a Friday he said yes and I said there is no way that's when my husband gets paid and their is ALWAYS money in the bank even if not on a Friday. Mail, you couldn't have sent me something by mail, for which you did not. $180.00 in fees on a card that was no longer working. You could have sent me a piece of mail yeah never did and I responded to the two emails. I paid my $160.00 odd dollars to catch up and also that $180.00 fee. You did them offer me pay out at $500.00 the actual merchandise was barely $250.00 not counting what you had already collected with the right account information and I also put money down. This is shady, very shady! I don't have a choice but to warn others, even the BBB. I can't notify you if I don't know what's going on. No mail and two emails I did answer. UNACCEPTABLE, because I do not run my finances like this. Oh and 9 of these garlands will end up costing me $1,000.00 that was not in my contract. Do I sound like a fool?

SCAM SCAM SCAM
February 20, 2019

I had to threaten these people with the better business bureau. This is not a rent to own. You will owe forever, unless you purchase early. I paid triple for the a washer that was 500. I finally realized that the payments were literally never ending and called them on the phone. Lets report this company. They literally told me that the money you pay bi weekly does not go towards anything not even your buyout amount. My buyout amount is 256. Why am I paying $1000 more. Look at your payment history this place is a scam. DONT DO IT

RUN TO THE LAUNDRY MAT!
February 20, 2019

In a desperate need for a dryer. I leased my dryer from Seas with teh "why not lease it program." In exchanged I was given a extremely long lease contract/ Who has the time to read those with a fine tooth comb. Anyway I proceed with the lease. After 8 payments I call to make a payoff. I am then told that I can not and that there will be a $300.00 additional charge since I would have to confirm the lease into a renters agreement. By the way my purchase was $694.00, I paid $500, and now I have no option to pay off. The company wanted another 2 payments before they would let me go into a renters agreement and then pay off in 3 or 4 payments. Again my only goal during this call was to pay the appliance off. Long story short they would not accept payoff. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

Don't let these reviews deter you. These are people with $#*!ty credit and don't read the contracts. Why not lease it doesn't cheat or hide things. If these people bothered to read the paperwork the terms are very clear up front. I suspect they are so hyped to get that new appliance for such a small amount down they don't do their homework. Whynotlease offers a payoff option after 90 days that if you plan you pay about 10% above store price. Once you past that date you are under a lease agreement that anyone with a high school education knows that it allows you to walk away with no further obligation or pay the lease fees and own it at higher price. This crying and blaming the company because YOU didn't read the terms is just simply your fault. I have bought 2 items because i didn't have the money or credit score to do so otherwise but i planned my payments out over 90 days and avoided all those extra fees.
