They will harass to no end with "customer service followup calls." I'm currently receiving 3-10 calls a day! I answer and it's silence for 30+ seconds! I've finally spoken with people&their little to no use.
My 1st Sears order was canceled and placed a 2nd for an urgent need of a refrigerator. 2 weeks later- they still haven't cleared the cancel and told ME to call sears for a "cancelation number!" The product WASN'T delivered YOU CAN'T CHARGE ME for a service that was NOT rendered!
They won't transfer me to a Superviosor OR give me their complaint process/line/email! I've been on hold for over 10minutes waiting to talk to their "manager" which I doublt they'll have me talk to someone and keep me on hold!
I'm about to call the better business bureau and consumer affairs - as well as comb throug the contract!
I am currently on my 2nd lease. My first lease had an early buyout of 90 days, which I missed due to being in the hospital. When I got out, about 2 weeks after my original buyout date, I called to see when my next buyout date was. They generously offered to honor the original buyout date, that day. I was very pleased and was able to py iff my lease even after missing the date. Every customer service rep I have spoken with has been pleasant, professional and friendly; I felt like they genuinly cared about helping their customers and not just putting in time for a paycheck. Definitely going to keep using this company.
A few years ago my husband and I purchased a storage building and freezer from sears. The original building purchased was not in stock so we had to down grade to another unit. Sears cancelled the original contract and then started a new one. Two years later we are still fighting them on not paying for the original building we never got. I made calls, sent emails, and copies of bank statements and receipts. NO ONE ever would reply even when I was told that the email address I had was for a supervisor. Now we are fighting this as showing negatively on our credit report. I refuse to pay for something I never received! When we clear up t up with one collection agency, they send it to a new one. It seems like this will be a forever battle!
It's true, the fine print explains it all. Not one representative called me to let me know that I had made 650 dollars more in payments than I needed, though. They just watch the money add up and then I call to see if they can cut me some slack and, at the least, refund a portion of the money that I felt scammed out of. They weren't compassionate and continued telling me about the fine print. Yes, "WhyNotLeaseIt," not only did I make you 650 dollars richer but, damn customer service will make you feel like you have the IQ of an apple.
Try AFFIRM. Awesome company and most the time charges absolutely no interest. NO TRICKY FINE PRINT $#*! EITHER.
Looking at a pool table that was $264 and saw that I could make payments; $30 every 2 weeks, I thought, was a great idea. The reason it is a scam regardless of reading the fine print is because on the first page of the contract it says pay the initial fee and then 8 payments afterwards you'll end up paying $300 and change. Makes sense, that's their profit. They literally have that information boxed into a table so that's all you think you're getting in to. BUT it then says (after you scroll from the top page) after the 8 payments you can buy the merchandise for an additional couple hundred dollars! I ended up paying $650 for a $250 pool table. It is insanely misleading. Never, ever again. Would Never recommend.
At the time, my husband and I went to lease a washer and dryer. The sales representative at Sears explained the contract, so we thought, in detail-according to her knowledge. We were told that is a lease to own with no other obligations. Payments came out of our account every month as promised. I realize that we paid the washer and dryer off and had the option to purchase the items with an additional $800. The lease to own payments were well over the purchase amount of the items. We would have ended up paying three Hundred percent more for the items. I politely called them and explain to them that because of the piss poor preparation promoted by the representative that sold us the items were not to constitute pain on us. Therefore I told them they can come get the items and stop payment immediately. They ended up canceling the contract and told us to keep the items. So do not come on here saying read the fine print, no have proper people explaining the contract so you can clearly understand and stop false advertising a lease to own not a lease to own for almost 6 months and then paying an astronomical amount to purchase the items when you could've just paid for it upfront.
I have already paid over $5000 for a $1000 refridgerator that I put $750 down payment on. I agreed to purchase the fridge and now they are deducting DOUBLE! They are continuing to charge me the lease payments despite me paying an additional $1000. 00 for a $1000 fridge has already cost me $6253 and they can still deduct payments for another 10 months! They do not respond to calls or emails. Do NOT ever use this company. In addition I am still waiting for a refund of the Warranty they demanded I purchase.
I didn't sign up for automatic payments and sears folks said that was just fine. When me and my sister bought the couch "together" i assume she'd be been helping pay for it. But no. And i never realize because They don't send me notifications, and they just take the money randomly instead of on our aggreed upon date, the 23rd. I just woke up to them double charging me "154" which was the agreed apon monthly rate but the charged me twice so 308 in the beginning of june. And after moving out and getting a new place, i dont even have access to the couch anymore yet im still making payments. Plus the couch is already creasing and getting ugly after only 6monthes. Really shoulda check the whynotleaseit place out before using them. Sears flat out lied to me and my sister and now we're over charged 581$ dollars so far! We're not even paid in full yet
Sears representatives need to be more aware of the details of this leasing program, they explained it as a lease to own, which it is not. The payments you make dont even go towards paying off the item, they go directly to why not lease it as a lease payment unless you pay more than their required monthly payments. If you cant pay the item off within 90 days they force you to make 5 months worth of lease payments before you can own your item even if you have the money to pay for it. I know this is all in the fine print but still, this company knows they are taking advantage of people who cant afford to pay for these expensive items up front. I'm going to end up paying about $600 more than the ticket price for my washer and dryer because of this company not being transparent and not making sure the Sears associates explain their program properly. I will never use a leasing company like this ever again.
I thought this was a great company but found out they are not because if anything happens to you they don't care as long as they get their money. I like the company at first but then something happen to me and the customer service person I talked to act like what I was telling him wasn't important to him. And then told me I need to get my payment in as soon as possible. This is the third item I have bought from them
If you don't read the fine print, don't blame the company. We bought a washer and know we have to make a large payment at the end of 5 months to own said washer. We had a similar experience when we bought a new mattress from a different company. We had the money to pay it off within a month. When you make your final payment, at 5 momths, make sure they send you an email letting you know you are paid in full and they won't be taking out anymore payments. It's better than a rent to own store where you pay for almost 18 months!
The store will compel you to pay lil bit and finance the rest. They'll charge your credit card monthly till you're able to pay the balance. In my case, bought refrigerator from Sears@$900. Put down $600 finance $300. Charge my CC $100 for 5mths till I paid them $300. They using all this big stores to scam people of their hard earn money stealing by trick. When you hear whynotleaseit pls run.
I lease a air conditioner from why not lease it by way of Sears. I have central AC but my AC unit broke in my home. After making the payments, I opted to give the unit back. I called while not lease it and they were supposed to send someone to get it. After a month, I called again and also send emails. They even send me emails stating my payment is overdue. After 5 months, a lady called from whynotlease it and made me a ridiculous offer to buy the AC unit. So of course I did buy it. Last week my microwave and refrigerator went broke at the same time. I tried to lease the refrigerator through whynotleaseit and was turned down. Trust me, it is not because of my credit or my income. This company wants to make a lot of money off you, but they are mad vengeful when they don't. This is a unprofessional way to do business.
Sears did not explain this program properly AT ALL - made it sound like a no-interest for ninety days program (clearly mislead me!), and WhyNotLeaseIt representatives can't explain it either. I put nearly 1/2 down of the total bill of approximately $1,400, plus the first payment on the remainder. When asked, Sears told me there "was no pre-payment penalty" but upon reading the fine print, which clearly did not set forth the program that Sears explained to me (yes, I signed it after just talking to the Sears Rep - I'm an idiot!), I called WhyNotLeaseIt and was told that their fee would only be $75! Recently I received an email stating that after I make four more monthly payments, I can do the purchase option for an additional $525, which means their "fee" is $429 over the price of what I purchased! While I do not think this is a scam, IT IS a "Lease to Own" program (not an "interest-free for ninety-days program!") so DO NOT DO WHAT I DID AND TRUST THE SEARS FOLKS TO EXPLAIN IT - READ THE FINE PRINT BEFORE SIGNING AND KNOW YOUR OPTIONS IN ADVANCE!
I purchased a washer for $499 in October. So far, I have made 16 payments that totals $777.6 and I still owe $280 to buy it out. Even though I did not do the buy out after 90 days, it is ridiculous that I'm still paying and still owe that much.
They told us that if we paid so much that both of our accounts would be closed out. Now they are telling us a whole different story We will never deal with them again
I took two items from February 2019 it's now may 11th 2019 the amount is still the same. I've been making payments on time every month. The program sucks!
Purchased a dishwasher from Sears through why not lease. We didn't have over a $1,000 so we were able to break it down into manageable payment for 90 days. Make sure toy understand the program thoroughly or it could cost twice what it cost for your appliance if you go past ther 90 days. Just know what your signing up for before using this program.
Sears made it sound so easy. This is a lease not rent to own you will never own the merchandise unless you do their buy out. Read the contract, better yet just stay away.
They will mislead the customer and you will be overcharged! I bought a washer and dryer from sears and was told I pay so much down them just so many easy payments. Was a lie even though they claim it's not.
Answer: Because people do not read their agreement before they sign it. Whynotleaseit is a LEASE company with a purchase option. On the agreement states that you can do an Early Purchase Option of your merchandise with a small $ of service fee. Also it says that you had to be on the agreement for 5 months and after that call to set up your purchase quote BUT PEOPLE DO NOT TAKE THE TIME TO READ, they just sign it without even knowing. If customers do not call after the 5 month minimum term to purchase their merchandise on the agreement says that you have 3 options: Keep leasing the item, purchase the merchandise or return the merchandise.
Answer: You will pay for the item until your dead. You will never actually own this unless you take the early buy out
