This company will rip you off especially when you cancel a transaction. I ordered something on July 30th canceled the same day and now it is August 7th and I am still fighting to get my $120 back
I surprised my wife upon her return from a tripmwith a new laundry set for the house. She loved it! My surprise came later when I was uninformed about the true balance of the final cost that I HAD TO MAKE PAYMENT ARRANGEMENTS FOR OR THEY'LL JUST KEEP ON ROLLIN!
Never again will I try this system and SEARS was my life by me being a tool guy but it makes me happy that they are no longer in heavy business especially with business practices like "YOUBETTERNOTLEASEIT"!
I went on sears.com to get a new dryer thinking that it was a lease to own option. I have made 13 payments of 40.51 on a 400 dollar dryer to find out that I have to pay an additional 270 to own it! This is a total scam and a rip off! This should be against the law! Sears is also at fault for this comparing themselves to Aarons and rent a center. At least I would own it after giving them all that money.
You need to pay the double price of your original price. They will give you a lot of reasons to change the price.
We had the cash to pay for our $1900 fridge and $900 range but the sales rep told us we'd save "hundreds" of dollars if we did the lease option through WhyNotLeaseIt and paid it off immediately. We did that. Big surprise! We owed over $4000 because WhyNotLeaseIt preaculates interest, which is illegal in California now. This company preys on consumers - how can Sears align themselves with a scam artist like this?
Done it because Sears said it would help build credit. Had the cash that day but fell into scam. Only myself to blame tho. Didn't have horrible credit but not perfect either. Figured it could be a win win. But no it was a lose lose... They give you 90 days to pay in full which with that being said may be good... But when tried to payoff couldn't get customer service on phone. So like alot others fell into that long trap door. Either return the item and lose all u just paid or pay bout 3times what's worth. Been paying 24 dollars every 2 weeks for almost 2 years now for a 450 piece tool set. Do the math! All and by the way they only report if YOU DONT PAY! So don't listen to saleman read that contract B4 you sign. Don't be a fool like me and believe them and then rush the process bc they only have 1 register open and like 5 people behind u waiting to check out..
I have never heard such BS is my entire life! I ordered 3, a/c units to be picked up 07/20. I paid my money. I never heard a word from Kmart. I finally called Tempoe, I was brushed off and told to call Kmart. I called the number I was given, where I was forced to speak 2 different people with broken accents and it was difficult to understand them. I was also told my refund would take 24 to 72 business hours! Are you kidding me 24 to 72 business hours. Please do the math! 72 business hours is almost 2 weeks!
UNACCEPTABLE! UNACCEPTABLE!
This is not going to be my only email or review! So be prepared!
I do not recommend them. I'll probably end up paying twice as much as what the item is worth. I got charged a late fee and the day isn't even over yet. TERRIBLE service! I do not recommend! Not even willing to help you. If i could them -100 stars i would because theyre that terrible! You're better off using a credit card with no interest if paid in full in a given amount of time!
You'd be better off saving your money and paying cash. I thought this was a regular lease/rent to own company. They're not. They're loan sharks to put it nicely and should be prosecuted. I'm seriously considering filing a complaint with my state's atty general's office. I've leased a couple of items for around $400 each and have paid dutifully fur 14 months thinking I'm nearing the end of the payments... nope. I actually owe more than i originally leased them for and I've already paid nearly 2k for them... each. Stay away from this company. There's nothing you need that bad that you'd use their financial services... NOTHING!
This is a SCAM. Don't go to a Sears Oulet. Deceptive practices against the consumers. I wouldn't recommend this company to my WORST ENEMY
This sounds like a fantastic option to get the item you need, but the company practices very bad business. I purchased mattresses and in less than a year had paid more than double the value of the purchase price. When I called to ask how many payments were left they indicated I owed them nearly 100% of the initial value of the product as my buyout amount. This would have made my total price paid 300% of the products initial cost. They compromised to 60% on the buyout so I ended up paying 260% of the original cost in less than 12 months. They will not call you to tell you when you are eligible for your buyout and they do not send this to you in the mail. You must be very careful with this deceitful company.
This is a total scam! Read the fine print very carefully. I purchased a $700 dishwasher and I am into it now for $2,300. My options are to pay them another $300 to buy out the lease or give the dishwasher back. Its no wonder Sears is in the position they are. I will never purchase anything else from a company that supports this craziness!
If I could give them 0 stars, I would. I started out just trying to lease a washer and dryer for my apartment using my tablet, only to be told, after going all the way through the process, that the website is not compatible with tablets or smartphone. So since I had already been approved and really needed a washer and dryer, I continued on my desktop. I clicked to chat with customer service because I was able to find where I left off and was told that I needed to use Google Chrome and would probably have to start all over with the order. I'm game so I went in and started over, only to get to checkout and put in my debit card information and got a message that they were unable to verify my ongoing payment method, so I call back. This time I was told that I needed to use a credit card, because they could not accept a debit card that had direct deposit to the bank! I'm not sure what kind of crap that is. Who doesn't accept funds based on whether or not my paycheck is direct deposited? Ludicrous and ridiculous! I basically told the guy to cancel my approval and I would be purchasing (not leasing) from somewhere else.
Their website crashes all the time which causes your payment not to go through. This in return makes them change you late fees. They should be put out of business for running a scam.
Thought I was purchasing a new futon and mattress for about $800 total... here we are 4 months in and they're still taking $80 every 2 weeks from me. When I call to inquire about my "lease" balance, they said that the money I've been paying hasn't even been posting to a balance, its just a lease fee. In other words I'VE BEEN RENTING MY FURNITURE with an option to buy it after I already paid for it. WTF? Never again.
This was a Sears ploy to make money off people! Sears hires a legal team to threaten people and add fees to a bill that was already paid! Plus Sears adds an insurance policy on the item which they want you to pay for as well!
Bought something for 699.99. Paid faithfully. It's a year later and they still say it's not paid off.
They said I owed a little under $200. Really. After 1 year?
Made arrangements to pay off the little under $200. It's been months ago. They took money out of my account for the original lease payment.
It's been paid off for months.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. RUN AS FAST AND AS FAR AS YOU CAN.
If I could rate a zero. I would
Your better off buying from a Rent-to-Own business that using this garbage finance product. After the full term is paid and you finally own it, IF you get to own it, you will have paid easily double the price of the product and the WNLI customer service is absolutely horrible. I used it once on a Clothes dryer. It was on sale for $329... buy the time it was owned I had paid over $700... Kmart/Sears go stick this program where the sun dont shine.
I was able to purchase my item in cash. I was PRESSURED into applying for CREDIT and now I've OVERPAYED by almost 5%! I mean what's the point of shopping at an OUTLET STORE? The customer representatives are RUDE don't listen and talk OVER you. I wouldn't recommend this company to my worst enemy!
A big lack of communication.
Customer service seemed like they did not care.
Charged me way too much
End up taking my 97.08 payment eight times in one month.
I'll never do business with them again!
Answer: Because people do not read their agreement before they sign it. Whynotleaseit is a LEASE company with a purchase option. On the agreement states that you can do an Early Purchase Option of your merchandise with a small $ of service fee. Also it says that you had to be on the agreement for 5 months and after that call to set up your purchase quote BUT PEOPLE DO NOT TAKE THE TIME TO READ, they just sign it without even knowing. If customers do not call after the 5 month minimum term to purchase their merchandise on the agreement says that you have 3 options: Keep leasing the item, purchase the merchandise or return the merchandise.
Answer: You will pay for the item until your dead. You will never actually own this unless you take the early buy out
