Complete rip-off!
September 19, 2019

Purchased some items from Sears through why not lease it. Paid the items off 4 times! Called in and asked why we were over paying for the items when the contract should have been paid off and was told for $220 they would except payoff on the contract! Just today my husband had a credit alert that said Tempoe LLC collections of $925 for whynotleaseit! This is a bunch of crooks!

Was talked into lease to own by sears store staff, why not lease it was company. I have made the number of payments as expected but they are still taking payments. I contacted the company to find out no that I have been making lease payments, to purchase the item I had to pay $320.00 which bought total of item to 1200. 00 on a 650.00 item.
I then attempted to make the purchase to stop the payments from being taken, they refused to take the payment. Stated system would not accept the card

This is a scam!
September 15, 2019

You will NEVER OWN your devices. Just like an apartment it's a lease! They trick you by saying you can pay it off in 90 days. If you could pay it off in 90 days, you wouldn't lease it. After the 90 days they keep increasing your payments and sometimes adding more. I didn't figure it out until my item should have been paid off. DONT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE! You can go to Aarons or rent a center for the same price and actually own it at the end of your term!

Poor customer services.
September 10, 2019

This was the worse company I have ever done business with, they have over charge me $205.00. They charge me two payment in August and the washer/dryer should have been paid. September 10, they charge me again. My last payment should have been $69.00. Poor customer service and incompetent workers. Do not do business with this company. Sears should be ashamed.

I've used the program about 3 times the last two years, and never had a problem! Was not explained at the store how the program worked, but the actual company called me to let me know how the program works just only a day after I made the lease, they told me I could buy it within 30-60-90 days, or just wait and lease for 5 months, so I can then purchase after those 5 months of LEASE payments. How people don't understand this is BEYOND me. Great company that unfortunately attracts a lot of people who are irresponsible and have a terrible credit score because they complain about every si for company and don't pay their bills. Why not lease it still gives those people a chance and they still aren't happy. Too bad for them. If you can't understand something as simple as this, I party for your life you should probably not ever have a credit card to begin with or any type of loan. Just learn how to save up your money and you won't have to deal with this. Why not lease it helps you get what you want, you get to take it home with you the very same day without having to pay for it in full, and you're gonna come back after so many months and complain you have over paid for your stupid TV that you could have bought cash for? Unbelievable. Why didn't you then? That right, cause you couldn't afford it. So how do you expect to pay the same price after so many months? How is that any type of business. Anyways. 5 stars. I just hope they start working with other stores like Walmart maybe, since the sears and Kmart near me closed down and I know you can still order online but I really don't like doing that.

I have been using Tempoe since the beginning of June using to Lease to Own option. I fully understand how it works, you have to make more than the minimum payment in order to have it paid off in 12 weeks. Well I call today to make my final payment of $121.21. The customer service rep was nice and friendly. I make my final payment, my stove is paid off! Then I get a text from my husband that we were charged twice and only had $1 left in our account. I double check our account, and sure enough I was charged $121.21 twice. I immediately call Tempoe to get it figured out. They state that they can only see 1 payment made. I can see by my bank account that I was charged twice. The guy puts me on hold and talks to his supervisor. They want my bank on the line to see if they can see 2 payments. What do you know, of course my bank can see the 2 payments. Well long story short, I finally got reimbursed for the 2nd payment. After my bank is off the line, the guy tells me "oh, yeah we can see that there was 2 payments on there now." Pretty sure they tried to scam me of more money. Other than that, my stove is paid off within the 12 weeks! The lease to own option does work if you pay attention and have it paid off within 12 weeks, if not, that is when the interest comes in.

They Got Me
August 30, 2019

I have perfect credit and I had the total amount to pay for the stove and refrigerator I thought I was buying (not leasing) up front. But I didn't wanna go about it financing or buying it up front. I thought I could pay it off in 90 days but that wasn't the case. The salesman lied to me and told me it was a 90 day same as cash deal. I took his word for it and I shouldn't have. I should've read the contract. It's cool though, I'll take that L but never again!

This is not leased to own. It's leased to never own. They told me that you will own the dryer once 8 payments are made, 15 payments and I'm still paying for it. It was an automated payment so I didn't realize until now. I called them and they told me that you have to let them know you want to own it after your lease payment or they will keep charging you for the lease. Why is it called "Lease to own" if the customer has to call and let you know they want to own it? That's the main reason customers accept the deal. NEVER DEALING with this company ever again, I rather buy something on craigslist then use this company again. STAY AWAY!

So I got charged another $44 for the dryer this morning so I call asking what's up because my last payment was supposed to be on the 16. She tells me that it was a 5 month program which ended on June 7th where I was leasing it until then and the balance goes towards the buyout on June 7 and I didn't buy it out so I choose to keep leasing it for 44 a month... which never was told to me. The guy in the store said you lease it until you own it so she said the last 6 paychecks was just leasing it monthly and I still owe 289 for the $489 dryer that I already paid $706 on... I was like no I called in June and this was never told to me so I'm not paying y'all $#*! else so you can add that balance I was paying toward that "buyout bull$#*!" and she's like you still have to pay. Um no I'm not paying $#*!. I told her to listen to the call in June when I was speaking to the guy and she will see nothing was said to me therefor I'm not paying. So she's listening to the call now. I'll be getting a lawyer

They make it sound like you can lease the item, and eventually own it. Well, I've been paying 12 dollars a week for a year now on a 250 dollar item, and still owe about $130. Ridiculous. Never again. Stay away!

This company is the worst company I have ever seen to help someone get something they need. U pay all this money to them and really you never pay it off if you continue to lease it. Lol You have the option to pay it off but all the money you have paid doesn't go towards it. I even told them to come get the stuff and they said they couldn't I had to keep paying for 6 months. Really what kind of business are they running. They also take money from your account when you have told them to stop and will not refund you your money. Will never recommend this company to anyone and will never use them again. Will also be reporting to the better business bureau.

Rip off
August 20, 2019

Rip off. When I first set up they weren't drafting account, an on their end. Charged fee and credited me back most of them. Then I provided a credit card and my payments were being made and balance was going down. When I reached roughly around $200, my payments stopped being applied to the balance and was told I continue to pay until the lease is paid in full. So my payments were going to interest only. I told them I was cancelling my card until we resolved the balance issue and my payments were being credited correctly. They continued to try and charge my card and then charge me a return payment fee. Ranked my bill up to $700 and turned it over to collections. I refuse to pay it, so I guess it will sit on my credit.

Don't use
August 8, 2019

I would not recommend this company to anyone. My family had a house fire July 2019 and was leasing a treadmill that is now a non-salvageable and they either want me to finish my payments or pay it off which why would I do either when I can't use the thing. So now here I sit with a non-working treadmill that is covered in smoke and soot that has sat and mold has starting growing. This company is a joke.
