Customer Support is an absolute joke. I was forced to use their service when they bought out and took over my previous provider. The first bill was the same as it had been with the last company. But each bill after that went up and up. I finally got fed up and contacted them about cancelling my service (even though I just paid for the quarter and was willing to pay for the next). I was told to call the sales department and to expect $75 plus fees for having their container picked up. A QUARTERLY BILL IS $54! How can they charge $75 for one single pickup?! I told them I will drop it off if they give me the location. They responded with "we don't have drop off locations". So I asked "where do you keep your containers because I know they aren't all stored in the trucks? I will save you the quote end quote HASSLE of picking it up". They responded "a third party service. We do not allow customer drop offs" and then was dropped from the chat.
Terrible customer service and terrible business!
They were fine then one day decided to start charging me $260 fine every time they pick the dumpster up and the lids aren't closed. My regular cost of services is $130 a month but the fee if the lids are one inch open is $260. See the picture attached. When you call and ask them why they are being insane they lecture you about how if the lids don't close they are taking more trash so its your fault for filling the dumpster too full. I also found out I signed a 3 year contract with a blank check to get out of the contract. Avoid waste management like the plague. I'm going to end up paying 800 to get out of the contract. Terrible company.
They bought out their competitor. Price jumped 50% after a few months. Canceling is BRUTAL! 117 min...but I think I'm done with them. Customer service is worse than the bottom of the trucks on a hot August day after a town wide fish fry.

Not even one star worthy in my opinion.
We have been dealing with POOR customer service from WM for the last year or so. We enrolled in autopay and every-time they cut our account off when the bill is due and so when we call ( like the website tells us to do in order to pay our bill) WE CAN NEVER GET AHOLD OF ANYONE! We have to keep calling and keep on hold until someone decides to work and answer the phone to assist. And our account will clearly state autopay when they look it up… we have canceled our services with them simply because of the constant billing issue and the piss poor customer service…FYI we called Meridian Trash Services and they picked up by the 3rd ring! We now have an account with them.
I ordered a dumpster to clean out my dad's house when he passed. They gave me a 13 hour window of when they would drop it off (ridiculous)!
We waited around all day and they never showed up or dropped off the dumpster. And good luck getting ahold of them. I called several times and had to wait on hold, generally 20-30 minutes every time. And then they would transfer me to a different department. I never got an answer from anybody about what happened and why it didn't get delivered. I guess this is the kind of service you get from WM when you spend $600 for a dumpster.
Now I need to find a different solution and try to get my money back. Horrible, horrible company!

Waste management has existed under monopoly like conditions and their total lack of customer focus shows it and why they contribute to loose city and individual accounts - multiple times in the City of Port Washington we had missed pickups and partial pickups meaning their incompetent drivers would not hold a container upright to fully empty a container when we called we literally had a "customer service" rep tell us since we were city residents we didn't really "pay" for service and as such could not lodge a complaint - how ignorant and unschooled can someone be to not understand resident taxes pay for that service? Unfortunately for us we didn't realize the city of port Washington had cancelled them, and we continued as town residents - no more, my spouse was recovering from a surgery - I explained this to Louis a text representative, who then said because "I admitted" we didn't get our containers out in time they could only pickup with an extra charge - I admitted? To what the truth? How incompetent is WM hiring people who deal with customers like that? That was the last straw and we cancelled our contract with them immediately - fortunately for their competitors they have a very low bar to reach now, missed pickups, not fully empty containers no worries still better than the total unprofessional half-wits at Waste Management - when Lisa the person who then begged us to stay asked if there was anything at all they could do to keep us satisfied I wished I had told the truth again - seeing Waste Management declare bankruptcy and go out of business might help but then it might only mean these incompetents will wind up working and tearing down other companies.
They lie about picking up your trash, I've been paying them and they pick up my trash whenever they feel like it. Customer service is trash too! I called to get trash picked up the driver lie n say he picked it up!
They lock you in with a three year contract, then increase the monthly price immediately. Of course the contract says price is subject to increase so you can do nothing abut it. Every time there is a slight excuse, they will slap you with extra fees. My monthly bill is frequently 2 or 3 times the initial price I signed up with! My advise is tell your cleaners to make sure dumpster cover is completely closed or don't put any more garbage there until next time so they cannot use any excuse to overcharge you. Mind you your monthly base fee is still subject to increase and you have no control over that. And if you want to get out of the contract, you have to pay six months' fee as penalty to do so!
After dealing with issues such as non-pick or billing issues at least once a month we cancelled service?we moved anyway) we are still getting billed and charged TWO MONTHS LATER. And of course it is impossible to actually get a rep on the phone, and no response to countless emails. Metro Denver needs to file a class action suit against WM, but I am guessing there are major kick backs and palm being greased. How else could this worthless company still be the largest operation around?

You can not get through to them. Their recorded idiot will not put you through to anyone. They want to raise prices? Omg. They are terrible now i have old garbage cans sitting outside for two weeks waiting for them to pick up in my subdivision. Are we suposed to leave them out indefinitely. The neighborhood looks horrible. What a waste of a company
High prices. Extra fees and surcharges added to my bill that were not stated up front, bad customer service. Way too difficult to cancel my service. WM (Waste Management) has showed me a complete lack of values. I canceled my service due to high prices and dishonest billing. When I canceled I was threatened with more charges for immediate termination of my service. WM told me I was paid through November 24,2023 so I kept my service until then. Since then WM has threw my personal trash can in their garbage truck (3 weeks ago) and crushed it, last week I only put out their one trash bin and they left a bag of garbage in it, this week they are refusing to take all of my trash, WM is also sending me additional bills and threatening to send it to a collection agency and call an attorney. This company is terrible! If you have any other option then you should take it. There is a good reason Waste Management has so many one star reviews.
I simply called and told them I no longer needed the dumpster from them. Seems pretty simple, but then they started asking me all sorts of unnecessary questions. It's pretty cut and dry. I feel like they are strong arming me around. The CSR also lied and said I signed a 3 year contract. I can't believe this!
Be aware they charge an outrageous fee when you stop service to pick up the can. $75 is too high! I will not use them again
This is the fifth time in a row that we have seen the Waste Management trash truck pull up and throw our recycling in the truck along with the trash. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau about this and WM agreed to refund me the money I had paid for recycling. Guess what! They didn't. I have to discontinue our service but I doubt they will refund me my money. I think it will be cheaper to hire somebody else. Do not deal with these people. You will regret it, as I do.
This service is the absolute worst. They will suspend your account for no reason and they will also not let you know via email or mobile that this happened. They will make up some random excuse that they left you a voicemail, and the quality of that customer interaction really sucks in the value you are paying for.
For two weeks they have skipped our trash and recycling without saying anything or a reason why. Our area does not have any dumpsters or recycling facilities where we can do this ourselves if this service decides to skip us.
We were in the dark about why we were being skipped over. No email, no phone calls, no text messages, no note on the trash of reasons why it wasn't picked up. I went to my account and there was no flag on the account that it was suspended, so the overall service is really bad, and I feel stuck as it's the only one that caters to my area. Must feel nice to steal people's money and not do the job that you have promised to do. Must feel nice to walk all over people and make their mental health suffer with little to no communication. There have been so many services recently that try to keep the veil on customer's knowledge just so they could get their next buck. This is one of those services I guess. They are leeches and there's nothing you can do about it unfortunately.
I needed a plastics recycle bin from waste managementof kennewick. I called the phone number listed to get a computer person. After you go round and round with this computer you get a text message telling you to go to web site. Ok so I went to website it's a hard one to maneuver, very little information listed after I Finely fround where I thought I needed to be I have to chat. With another computer it took 20 minutes to get a recycle bin scheduled for delivery maybe in next 2 weeks. No wonder people don't want to recycle. I don't understand why businesses have gone the computer voice systems and internet. It's just showing their laziness why even pay for a phone line.
I put boxes with laundry soap containers and other boxes out to be picked up. Our driver didn't pick it up. Didn't even stop. Four phone calls later I got through to a person by saying I wanted to cancel my service. This person informed me that to get the boxes picked-up I would have to pay $150.00 extra. I cancel my service. Before I did I pointed out that had my husband cut those boxes up and put in the green container there would have not been an extra charge. I just don't understand companies that offer a service behaving like this.
After years of semi reliable service, WM has let us down too often. Unexplained Missed pickups and poor communication in the past two months are no way to run a business. We will switch companies.
Answer: Apparently it is how they conduct business by being as rude and unethical as possible. I hope they did not steal from you as well.
