Well if you only plan on watching your HDX purchases on your TV then it's no issue. However if you plan on watching those same HDX purchases on your mobile (which you should be able to) your outta luck. There is no option to watch your HDX purchases on the Vudu app with your phone. Only SD (Standard Definition) Sounds like seller fraud to me. Shame on Vudu!
If I could give it less than a star I would do not bother with this app the moment you have change you card information it will not work to let you rent movies and every time you watch a movie or. A preview of a movie you have to restart the app all together to watch another one just not worth the time

Vudu is a terrible company, tried for a month and a half to get someone on the phone. My $71 credit expired apparently without any notifications or anywhere on the site saying the credit expired. They stole my money and the manager Danielle is extremely rude and disrespectful. DO NOT give them any of your money!
"Contact customer support we are here to help" is an act in mindless insanity. They do not respond to email EVER! So your only option is to remain on terminal hold. What really drives you to utter mind blowing frustration is the money you have tied up in them, you cant do anything about it. You cant take your digital movies and go elsewhere. Sure you can use Movies Anywhere, but they don't have all the copy rights to every digital movie you own. Neither does Amazon. So they have you and your movies hostage. They don't have to respond to you, they can just sit back ignore you, drink their cup of coffee and laugh at all us fools who are sitting here pulling our hair out trying to reach someone to resolve our issue. Some digital master needs to start a streaming platform service that will allow you to transfer each and every movie you have purchased through VUDU and let them shut down.
Unfortunately, vudo is downloaded free for anybody with a capable device. There are wide selections of porn movies, usually labeled MA, unrated, 18+ 21+. After a quick analysis 40% of free movies, are sexual, nudity,, porn scenes. Reviewing all other free movie apps, Vudo is the only one I see, offering this free, other free online services, this content needs a credit card and age requirements. Sex sells, this keeps there services with a higher rating. I have vudo Fandango blocked on my television. I am aware parental passwords are abailable. Thats not the answer, if you can't be a decent movie provider with our children's and teens best interest in mind, your service are blocked.
I pre laid 30 bucks for a movie. Had to wait 2 months for it to not work on any device I have. Piece of $#*! service & absolutely terrible customer service. I've been on hold for 30 minutes.
Too many interruptions white watching other channels. So frustrating. Pops up continuously asking me to download or add it while I'm on other channels and kicks me out of what I'm watching.
Just in case anyone has this problem in the future, here are my emails with time stamps. The company is aware of the problem. The company is not planning on fixing the problem. Here are some screenshots you can read for yourself. If they refuse to refund your charges, I would download my screenshots with the time stamp and take them to a lawyer to start a lawsuit to get you back your money. You're welcome.
Vudu has to have some of the worst customer service there is. I have been using them for several years and have a decent library that I wish I could just move somewhere else. But anyway, a movie was rented twice and they refuse to refund the second one. Just flat refuse. I have never asked for their help. Not only did they refuse, I had to contact them over and over and over again to even get someone to respond. It was one of those new release 19.95 movies. We rented it, watched it and it expired. A couple of days later around Christmas we were setting up a new TV and the movie showed up again in our queue as if it was newly rented. No email confirmation. Nothing confirming it. It was odd. No one has access to my account. I contacted them and told them what happened and heard crickets for days. I could not reach a live person. Finally an email days later after numerous contacts basically saying sorry no refunds. Told me to set up a PIN for accidental purchases. I told them over and over it was not an accidental purchase or unauthorized it was clearly some weird app glitch. No receipts from it like normal. We had not even used Vudu that day we just logged into it on the new TV. They did not care. They finally stopped responding to me altogether.
Their customer support is beyond terrible when it comes to gift cards. There was an error of $500 that was charged to my debit card. I contacted them within one minute of the purchase to try and fix the error. I have spoken to their customer service and they assured me that the gift card department knows of my refund request, yet no one has contacted me. This happened once before and they just don't respond. I will NEVER purchase gift cards from this company again! I'm sure to them $500 is no big deal, but to me it's huge. And apparently it is to them as well actually, since they refuse to give it up. This company will take your money and refuse to provide any assistance when an error occurs. Buyer beware!
I purchased a movie by mistake for the 2nd time in 5 years. I meant to buy a bundle the movie was a part of which would have cost me about $10 more. I was informed in they have a policy to only give 1 refund per customer for an accidental purchase. First, I would have spent more if they had issued the refund. Second, I still haven't watched the movie. Third, I have bought nearly 2000 movies and about 170 tv shows (entire series), in volume alone I am a very good customer. Giving a lecture on the importance of a pin, which I have, was the end of it for me. I am a compulsive buyer and see no reason I have to buy from Vudu. I will however continue watching my past purchases through their app. I am personally very angry with the lack of value they have for their customers.
I have purchased over 500 movies on Vudu and I've never had a single problem. Zero. Some of you are doing something very wrong. Hahaha
Piece of $#*!s keep delaying the release of spider man couldn't watch it in theaters cause you morons voted for Biden and I'm not taking experimental drugs to see a movie, now these $#*!ing incompetent goofys at VUDU can't be loyal to their fans/supporters/investors enough to give us a $#*!ing real date and push it back a month for the third time. They advertised an 4k UHD sale, pick 3 movies for 14.99. But all the movies in the sale came as SD. They won't respond to email customer service or online chat. I have been trying for almost 2 months.
The first week i got to see all the free movies if you dont buy they will force 5 comercials every 10 minutes
I've had an account with Vudu for many years. I've loved the ability to add physical titles with digital codes to my library. Except, there's a HUGE issue with Vudu. Apparently they expect me to keep all my physical receipts for every purchase, who does that? Also, many of my movies have been removed and the only explanation I get from Vudu is that my email doesn't match the purchase. I have 4 emails, so, which one am I supposedly going to remember goes where? My other big complaint is... as a customer who has over 160 mpbs streaming speed I constantly have buffering/streaming issues watch my content. It doesn't matter the time of day, week or weekend, every browser I've tried has the same issue. I use a number of streaming services, even Amazon is better at streaming!
Used VUDU for the first time ever, bought the Spider-Man 3 pack with No Way Home, read the description 3 times made the purchase and after purchase disruption says can watch No Way Home"when released". No date... It's been weeks since purchase, could've watched the movie other ways by now. First and last time I use this service. It's a movie purchase get with it and deceptive descriptions is bull$#*!.
Every time and I mean every time I try to get a movie to watch I pay for it but yet it's a crapshoot whether or not I get to see it. Like right now there's a movie from 50 years ago I'm trying to watch I've paid for it I've had to re-enter my information twice before I could even get to the point of renting it and now that I've rented it it's just doesn't give it to me! I don't know what's going on with this thing but fair warning stay away from it I'm getting rid of it after this crap I I've spent too much of my own money trying to keep movies I'd like to see and TV shows and it's taking me an act of Congress before I'm allowed to watch any of it.
Since the merge with Fandango, which I never had any trouble with and had spent thousands of dollars in movies and tv shows, now I can not access any of my library because for some reason it did not move with my Fandango account to VUDU. Vudu customer service is downright shameful and they will not answer the phone, emails or their chat option on their site. Sat on hold on the chat for over two hours waiting on a "live rep" what a joke! Sat on hold on their phone for over two hours to never get a human being and forget emails, I have sent several of those with no answer. Shame on Fandango for ever switching to this horrible company. So disappointed and out a LOT of money from previous years of purchases that I no longer have access to!
Answer: I would just stay away from vudu altogether. They are the worst company I have ever interacted with. I spent a lot of money on videos with them and I cannot watch any of them because the just buffer literally every 5 seconds and then I downloaded them through vudu to go and they won't play on there either. I keep getting a message that vudu cannot authenticate my account. I e-mailed customer services 3 times and have never received a response. I have wasted about $1000. 00 on movies that I cannot watch. I have started using amazon prime video and other sites as well and have no problems whatsoever. Just stay away from vudu they are just taking your money.
